Switchmas is finally here, and one of the most exciting announcements from the Nintendo Switch Event was the concurrent release of Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Shortly after the press conference ended, Nintendo posted not only a Collectors Edition, but also a Masters Edition of the much anticipated title on their website. The stand alone game will be $59.99.

The Collectors Edition, priced at $99, a Nintendo Switch Sheikah Slate Carrying Case, Sheikah Eye Collectible Coin, Relic of Hyrule: Calamity Ganon Tapestry and Weather-Worn Map, and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Sound Selection CD.

The Masters Edition includes all that as well as a Master Sword of Resurrection figure, and will sell for $129.99.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild will have amiibo compatibility with the Wolf Link amiibo from Twilight Princess HD (which will be re-issued as a stand alone February 3, 2017), the Zelda 30th Anniversary series amiibo. There will be new The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild amiibos, including one for Zelda and a Bokoblin, which will retail for $15.99 each, except for the larger Guardian amiibo, which will be $19.99.

Breath of the Wild promises to be an amazing experience, if you didn’t get to see the new trailer, take a look below!

Which version of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild will you be purchasing for your Switch? Let us know in the comments below!

Briefly: We’ve been hearing pretty constant rumours about the long in development Tomb Raider film reboot for a number of years now, and we finally have our first bit of real, actual news about the project.

Nope, after all these years, it’s not our Laura Croft, a side character, or even a plot synopsis (though the film is said to take place over Lara’s first adventure), but instead Warner Bros. has revealed just who will helm the film, and it’s The Wave director Roar Uthaug.

I haven’t yet had an opportunity to see the Norwegian disaster flick, but I have heard some very positive things about it. We’re still waiting to officially find out who will write the film, but THR notes that Transformers 5 screenwriter Geneva Robertson-Dworet is in talks to write the script.

I’m actually really excited to see the potential for this film. Square-Enix’ recent reboot and just released Rise of the Tomb Raider have taken the series to heights that I couldn’t have even imagined (I’m seriously debating picking up another Xbox One just to play the game), and if some of that re-invigoration could trickle down into this reboot, we’d be in for a real treat.

Then again, it is a video game movie, so I wouldn’t hold you breath!

Are you down for a Tomb Raider reboot? Who would you like to see play the new Lara Croft? Sound out below!

Dishonored, the Steam-Punk, first person, stealth-and-cover shooter/RPG (yeah, genre mashing is a thing now) is free to play for the weekend (from, well, now to Sunday at 1 p.m.) as well as being 75% if the urge to purchase takes you.

dishonored27

Dishonored is available here, free to download and play until Sunday, and only $4.99 for the original and $10.19 for the Game of the Year Edition, which includes the game and four DLCs: Dunwall City Trails, Knife of Dunwall, Void Walker Arsenal and The Brigmore Witches.

Here’s the trailer, in case you need some more encouragement!

Briefly: Better than than never?

Not everybody (well, not really anybody) loved the film, but did you know that Kick-Ass 2 is also getting a video game?

A new trailer for the 3D beat-em-up has just launched, and though the game boasts a cool cel-shaded artstyle… it doesn’t look great. Take a look at the trailer below, and you’ll see what I mean.

Kick-Ass 2: The Game will launch in May for PS3, Xbox 360, and PC.

Briefly: The Lego Movie hits theatres today (I’m set to see it in a couple of hours, and I’m very excited), and apparently, the film also has a tie-in game.

The game is fittingly titled The Lego Movie Video Game, and it looks just as absurdly excellent as the movie that it’s based on. Here’s the game’s synopsis, straight from the press release:

The LEGO Movie Videogame takes players on an awesome adventure through fantastical LEGO worlds, including Bricksburg, Cloud Cuckoo Land and the Wild West of Flatbush Gulch. And for the first time ever in a LEGO game, all environments are made entirely of digital LEGO bricks. Based on the humorous and action-packed events from the film, The LEGO Movie Videogame puts players in control of Emmet, an ordinary LEGO minifigure mistakenly thought to be “The Special” — a character prophesized to save the world from an evil LEGO tyrant. Using the abilities of more than 90 characters inspired by the film, which include an unlikely cast from some of the world’s most beloved and well-knowing properties, including DC Comics Super Heroes like Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman, family members of all ages will navigate 15 exciting levels in the console version and 45 action-packed missions in the handheld version. With unexpected moments and twists at every level, gamers will build their way -through a uniquely LEGO adventure on their ultimate mission to bring creativity to their LEGO world.

Take a look at the launch trailer for the game below, and let us know if you plan to pick it up! The game is available for Xbox 360, PS3, Wii U, Vita, and 3DS. Playable characters in the game include Emmet (voiced by Chris Pratt), Vitruvius (Morgan Freeman), Wyldstyle (Elizabeth Banks), Batman (Will Arnett) and Lord Business (WIll Ferrell).

Most of us have been at a party where a game involved watching the TV (Guitar Hero and pretty much any other console game). Sure, gaming is a group activity, but you tend to get sucked in and not notice those around you. Well, Lau Korsgaard has developed a new party game that changes all that. Korsgaard explained it by saying, “Party games are killing the parties, you just stare at the TV”, but this game makes you look at each other. Spin the Bottle: Bumpie’s Party is a super cute game that makes you get active and pushes you to your comfort limit. It reminds us how we need to just have fun and not hold ourselves back.

Here is a pic from their area at the Indiecade booth inside South Hall at E3.

This Wii U game has seventeen mini games that “encourage moving around and being silly” (Korsgaard). See the pictures below to get a sense of what you have to do in the games. You can play with 2-8 players and only need Wii remotes. The game will release in July on the Wii U e-shop as a digital download.

I went back more than once to play with friends while at E3 and had a lot of fun playing! Also, we were all laughing pretty much the whole time. It is entertaining and helps you break out of your shell. This is the perfect game for parties and as an ice breaker!

logoBe sure to watch the teaser trailer to get a look at the adorable and goofy animation!

As with any rumour, take this one with a grain of salt. In any case, if this turns out true, it’s pretty exciting.

It appears as though pre-order posters for Grand Theft Auto V may have been leaked. As we knew before, the poster confirms the game will be releasing for Xbox 36o and PS3. The big news here is that the images reveal a Spring release for the much anticipated game. It’s easy to fake a poster of course, but they look very well done, and feature some hi-res art from characters that we have already seen.

The timing is also appropriate, as GameInformer’s December issue is set to have a MASSIVE GTAV blowout.

Check out the posters below! How excited are you to get back into this universe?

Well, it’s been a few days, so it’s time for more Wreck-It Ralph viral! We’ve already had a look at two of the worlds that we’re set to visit in the film: Ralph’s home game, Fix-it Felix, and racer Sugar Rush.

The latest ad gives us a look at the game Ralph wants to end up in, Hero’s Duty. This world pretty much looks like every space themed shooter since Halo, which has to be a deliberate decision, and of course would be parodying that fact.

I can’t wait for Wreck-It Ralph to hit on November 2nd. The film looks original and hilarious, and I’m really excited to see characters from many different game companies in one place.

Check out the latest viral below, and let us know what you think!

Black Ops is my personal favorite CoD game of the franchise. The narrative they took with the era’s fear of communist nuclear attacks, Vietnamese war travesties and good ole fashioned conspiracy theories (To be fair, MKUltra actually happened, just google it) was some of the best writing in a video game I’ve witnessed in a long time. So you can understand how excited when I heard they would be making another Black Ops game.

Well November 13th is almost here so Activision have released an official launch trailer. Check it out BELOW!

As I stated in the title, this looks amazing and I cannot wait.

I hadn’t really looked too much into Marvel Heroes before today. The title had been in development hell for a number of years before being picked up by Gazillion Entertainment . This iteration is actually coming to fruition, and will feature a story penned by the wonderful Brian Michael Bendis.

NYCC was a pretty big day for the title, as a number of new playable characters were revealed, as well as a new trailer showing off some of the many features of the game. Newly announced characters include Nova, Luke Cage, and Jean Grey.

There is still no release date set, but the game already looks like a lot of fun. Amazingly enough, the full game will be entirely free to play (supported by micro transactions of course). The game will be PC only at first, but the developers confirmed via Twitter that a Mac release was also in the pipeline.

Watch the trailer below and let us know what you think! The game doesn’t have a release date yet, but there is currently a closed beta going on!

Ed Boon, co-creator of Mortal Kombat and Creative Director at NetherRealm studios today confirmed two more additions for the cast of upcoming fighter Injustice: Gods Among Us. Both Green Lanter and The Joker will be playable characters when the game releases in April.

The confirmation came via a twitter post earlier this morning:

No screenshots or trailers have ben released featuring the newly announced characters. Boon stated that those should hit later today.

If you haven’t seen much of Injustice, you should definitely check out this gameplay footage. The game looks to be shaping up nicely. In any case, it looks infinitely better than Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe.

How do you think the game looks? Who else do you want to see on the roster?

Disney today released the first clip from the upcoming Wreck-It Ralph.

The movie is just a few weeks away now, and I couldn’t be more excited. Every trailer so far has been hilarious, and this clip is no different. It’s insane to see so many video-game characters from so many different companies coming together for this film!

Check out the clip below! Wreck-It Ralph hits theatres on November 2nd.

Need a refresher on the plot? Here’s the official synopsis:

Wreck-It Ralph (John C. Reilly) longs to be as beloved as his game’s perfect Good Guy, Fix-It Felix (Jack McBrayer). Problem is, nobody loves a Bad Guy. But they do love heroes… so when a modern, first-person shooter game arrives featuring tough-as-nails Sergeant Calhoun (Jane Lynch), Ralph sees it as his ticket to heroism and happiness.

He sneaks into the game with a simple plan—win a medal—but soon wrecks everything, and accidently unleashes a deadly enemy that threatens every game in the arcade. Ralph’s only hope? Vanellope von Schweetz (Sarah Silverman), a young troublemaking “glitch” from a candy-coated cart racing game, might just be the one to teach Ralph what it means to be a Good Guy. But will he realize he is good enough to become a hero before it’s “Game Over” for the entire arcade?

IGN today debuted a new poster for October’s Silent Hill: Revelation 3D.

The movie is a sequel to 2006’s Silent Hill, which is based on the Konami series of survival horror video games.

I’m a huge of the Silent Hill games (though admittedly the last few years has made it tough to keep saying that). The first movie was not a great film by any means, but I was rather impressed with just how much it felt like Silent Hill. The atmosphere was great, music was taken right from Akira Yamaoka’s haunting game scores, as were the disturbing creatures and environments. Silent Hill: Revelation 3D looks to take a similar approach, so I’ll definitely be lining up for this one (I just hope that the actual plot is better).

Silent Hill: Revelation 3D opens on October 26th. Check out the new poster below! The trailer is also embedded, let us know what you think!

So, it was about a month ago at good ol’ San Diego Comic-Con that we first learned that Deadpool was getting his very own video game brought to us by High Moon Studios. But since then it’s been pretty quiet and we haven’t heard too much about it. Welp, it appears some screen shots and concept art was shown at this years GamesCom as well as a fact sheet written by the merc with a mouth himself. Check them out!

I, DEADPOOL, am here to tell you about all the awesomeness that is my new video game! That’s right – I’ve taken over High Moon Studios in order to develop the world’s first-ever video game dedicated to yours truly, ME – DEADPOOL! You may know me as the “Merc with a Mouth,” which means there will be plenty of ME talking to YOU in the game, along with ALL of my favorite things: katanas, big guns (and not just these amazing arm muscles – check!), hot chicks, cameos from some of my X-MEN friends (ooh, spandex!), chimichangas, bouncy houses, and of course…ME!!!

Everyone loves Stan Lee and now you have the chance to play as Stan ‘The Man’ Lee in ‘The Amazing Spider-Man’ game from Beenox. The only downside is to get the Stan Lee Adventure Pack you have to pre-order the game from Amazon. However it does look like tons of fun!

‘The Amazing Spider-Man’ hits stores June 26th.

This was an April Fools joke… but still it would have been cool!

When it comes to Google Maps, it’s the only tool I use to find directions on where I need to go, as well as look up alternate routes. However, there’s always something in the back of my head, nagging me, irritating me, and I couldn’t figure out what it was until now. I had to ask myself this question: “Wouldn’t Google Maps be SOOOOOOOO much better if it had a 8-bit retro look? I would be SO much more invested in Google Maps if it only could do just this!”

Well, Google listened to my oddly specific request. When you access Google Maps, on the top right of the map where you can choose Satellite/Earth/Street views, there’s a new mode called Quest. By clicking it, all the streets, trees, and mountains all become Dragon Quest lands. The maps are still plotted out the same way, and it still works the same, so you can still go to where you need to go. Except now, you can do it to the look and style of the original Dragon Quest. What’s also funny is if you go to Street View, everything is extremely pixilated, as if the NES’s technical capabilities are working overtime to provide even a simple version of Streetview.

Apparently, this is only a trial version and that an actual cartridge is coming out for the Nintendo Famicon and Nintendo Entertainment System. I don’t have a reason to really play my NES all that much anymore, but this is one reason to bring it back out from my closet. Now if only there was an update for Super Nintendo, I’d be all set…
