Briefly: It was just yesterday that Fox announced the casting of The Penguin, Alfred, and more for their upcoming series Gotham (which came just a few days after the announcement of Jim Gordon’s character), and today that cast has expanded once more.

Donal Logue, best known for his work on Sons of Anarchy and Vikings has taken the role of Detective Harvey Bullock. The official description for the character reads that “Jim Gordon’s partner and mentor, the rough-around-the-edges Detective Harvey Bullock plays loose with police procedure, but he gets results … and he does it with old-school, forceful panache.”

Casting for the project is coming along very quickly. At this rate, it’ll be interesting to see what comes next. What do you hope to see from Gotham? What do you think of the cast so far? Sound out below!

Logue

Briefly: Rick and Morty has been renewed.

The new animated series from Community‘s Dan Harmon and House of Cosbys’ Justin Roiland follows a sociopathic scientist who drags his unintelligent grandson on insanely dangerous adventures across the universe, and it’s absolutely freaking hilarious.

If you haven’t seen the show, I’d implore you to head here and check it out. In my opinion, it’s the funniest show on Adult Swim right now, and Harmon and Roiland have created an absolute masterpiece. Seriously, the parodies and homages here are perfect.

On the renewal, Harmon states that “I am excited to make as much Rick and Morty as Adult Swim allows, and I’m relieved to be in a time slot of no strategic value to CBS”, while Roiland added “I am humbled and super excited by the positive response to the show, and we have no shortage of ideas for future episodes.”

Now, let’s just hope that Community gets renewed too, now that Harmon’s back and it’s awesome again.

Briefly: Doc of the Dead is coming!

We let you know back in January that the film would be premiering at SXSW along the likes of Veronica Mars, Jon Favreau’s Chef, and plenty of other exciting features. Today, we’re announcing the television premiere date for all of us normal folk who can’t attend SXSW and/or don’t live in Austin (like me… though I’m in Canada so that’s another story altogether).

The film will premiere on EPIX at 8PM Eastern on March 15th during a 24-hour zombie marathon that will also include the television premiere of last year’s much-better-than-expected World War Z. Here are the details, straight from the press release:

Premium entertainment network EPIX announced today that Doc of the Dead will premiere at the SXSW Film Festival on March 10 and on EPIX on Saturday, March 15, at 8PM ET. The feature length EPIX Original Documentary, directed by Alexandre O. Philippe, examines the rise and evolution of zombies in film, television and literature and the impact on pop culture. Many of the genre’s most influential figures are featured in the film, including the “Godfather of the zombie genre” George A. Romero (Dawn of the Dead), actors Simon Pegg (Shaun of the Dead) and Bruce Campbell (Evil Dead), producer Greg Nicotero (The Walking Dead) and acclaimed author Max Brooks (bestsellers The Zombie Survival Guide, World War Z).

Doc of the Dead premieres on EPIX March 15 at 8PM ET as part of an all-day Zombie-thon celebrating the full range of zombie movies from a newly re-mastered HD version of director George Romero’s seminal cult classic Night of the Living Dead, with a special introduction by Max Brooks, to the world television premiere of this summer’s blockbuster addition to the zombie movie cannon, World War Z starring Brad Pitt.

Here’s a schedule for the Zombie-thon, or more importantly, where Doc of the Dead sits on that schedule:

6:00am – Zombies of Mass Destruction
7:35am – Night of the Comet
9:15am – White Zombie
10:30am – House of the Dead 2
12:10pm – Zombies of Mass Destruction
1:45pm – Night of the Comet
3:25pm – White Zombie
4:35pm – House of the Dead 2
6:15pm – Night of the Living Dead w/Introduction by Max Brooks
8:00pm – Doc of the Dead (World TV Premiere)
9:30pm – World War Z (World TV Premiere)
11:30pm – Night of the Living Dead w/Introduction by Max Brooks
1:15am – Nightmare City
2:45am – Poultrygeist: Night of the Chicken Dead
4:30am – Zombie Lake

Sounds like a great day, doesn’t it? As Jonathan revealed in the announcement last month, he “wrote and directed the ‘Geekscape segments’ in the movie, which you’ll know ‘em when you see ‘em, and my Geekscape business partner Georg Kallert produced them. Who knows, you might even see a Geekscape character or two pop up in the film!”

Take another look at the trailer below, and let us know if you’re excited to see it. International distribution plans are still in the works, but we’ll be sure to let you know those details as soon as we can.

The Raiders Guys are back!

We hosted Chris and Eric back in 2012, just as Alan Eisenstock’s awesome tell-all book was hitting store shelves. The duo is well known as the creators of the ‘best fan film ever made’, as they took seven years (yep, seven) of their childhood to painstakingly recreate almost every shot of Raiders of the Lost Ark.

Here’s more info about the film, via the trailer for the book:

Chris and Eric shot every single scene, and every single stunt from the film, minus one. Eric explains “The Flying Wing Scene.   Yep, that awesome sequence where Indy fights the bald Nazi under the moving airplane.  In our ten years of screenings, people have been urging us to do it.  And so, the idea of adding the ultimate mythological bookend to our childhood saga has brought us back together – the team is stronger than ever.  ”

Now, after 25 years, and as a set piece for Jeremy Coon’s upcoming documentary about the adaptation, Chris, Eric, and the rest of the Raiders Adaptation crew want to complete the film… but they need our help. They would love to hit their stretch goal of $125,000, but their Kickstarter goal is a meager $50,000, and with 29 days to go they’re already over 10% of the way there.

As always, there are amazing rewards up for grabs here, including digital downloads of the film (old and new editions), DVD’s, books, t-shirts, storyboards, even props or a screening in your city.

Check out the Kickstarter video for the campaign below, and let us know if you’ll be backing this incredible project. Have you had a chance to see the adaptation yet?

Briefly: Following some interesting teasers (check them out here and here) and the film’s first trailer back in December, Paramount has just released the second trailer for The Dark Knight Rises cinematographer Wally Pfister’s directorial debut, Transcendence.

The newest preview is clearly similar to the trailer we’ve already seen, but it definitely expands on the “this is going too far” aspect of Depp’s, well, transcendence. The film features an all-star cast consisting of Johnny Depp, Kate Mara, Morgan Freeman, Rebecca Hall, Cillian Murphy, and plenty of others, and everyone look well used in the picture. I really cannot wait to see this one.

Transcendence hits theatres on April 17th, and it’s definitely one to watch out for. Take a look at the preview below, and let us know what you think!

http://youtu.be/rD3OBtxNkW0

Dr. Will Caster (Johnny Depp) is the foremost researcher in the field of Artificial Intelligence, working to create a sentient machine that combines the collective intelligence of everything ever known with the full range of human emotions. His highly controversial experiments have made him famous, but they have also made him the prime target of anti-technology extremists who will do whatever it takes to stop him.

However, in their attempt to destroy Will, they inadvertently become the catalyst for him to succeed—to be a participant in his own transcendence. For his wife Evelyn (Rebecca Hall) and best friend Max Waters (Paul Bettany), both fellow researchers, the question is not if they can… but if they should.

Their worst fears are realized as Will’s thirst for knowledge evolves into a seemingly omnipresent quest for power, to what end is unknown. The only thing that is becoming terrifyingly clear is there may be no way to stop him.

Briefly: After casting Southland‘s Ben McKenzie as James Gordon earlier this week, Fox has revealed more of the principal cast for their currently-in-production series, Gotham.

RobinTaylor

Accepted and Would You Rather star Robin Taylor will portray Oswald Cobblepot (The Penguin). The character description in the press release reads that “With the brains of a chess grandmaster and the morals of a jackal, Oswald Cobblepot is a low-level psychopath (for gangster Fish Mooney) who hides his sadistic lust for power behind an exquisitely polite demeanour.”

Zabryna Guevara

Burn Notice star Zabryna Guevara has been cast as Captain Essen. Her character is described as “Gordon’s boss at the GCPD Homicide Squad, Captain Essen balances the two worlds of police and politics with a Machiavellian skill that’s as much corporate litigator as cop.”

Sean Pertwee, The Seasoning House, Sterling Pictures

Sean Pertwee will play Alfred Pennyworth, who is “A tough-as-nails ex-marine from East London, Alfred Pennyworth has loyally served the Waynes. Now, in the wake of their tragic deaths, he’s fiercely protective of the young Bruce Wayne.”

Erin Richards

And finally, Erin Richards will portray Barbara Kean, who is “A sophisticated emergency room doctor, Barbara is the fiancée of James Gordon, joyful but with an edge of vulnerability. She stands by her future husband…which can be difficult in a world as corrupt as Gotham.”

Things seem to be coming together quite quickly for the series. Be sure to let us know what you think of the latest casting, and we’ll be sure to keep you up to date with more!

Briefly: Good Night. Good Luck.

Techland has just debuted a new trailer for their fantastic-looking first-person-survival-zombie-parkour title Dying Light. This video tries to punch you right in the feelings by showing sad children and letting us all know that humanity is all but lost.

It’s easy to see from this new video (and the previously released ones) that this game is coming together nicely. I was a big fan of Techland’s previous effort, Dead Island, and Dying Light is currently one of my most anticipated titles of 2014. Take a look at the trailer below, and let us know how excited you are for this one. Dying Light will hit PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PC later in 2014.

http://youtu.be/-K9ubaYRzf8

Briefly: Sure, it kinda looks like Left 4 Dead mixed with Predator, but as it’s coming from L4D creator Turtle Rock, that sounds like an excellent combination.

Following the game’s announcement last month, Turtle Rock has debuted the first trailer for their upcoming sci-fi shooter, Evolve. The game looks to take the tried-and-true style of Left 4 Dead, but instead of fighting waves and waves (and waves) of infected, you’ll instead be hunting for a fifth player that’s controlling some sort of giant, deadly monster.

Take a look at the neat trailer below, and let us know what you think! The game will hit PS4, Xbox One, and PC this Fall, and pre-ordering will net you an exclusive skin, as well as the first DLC monster once it’s released.

http://youtu.be/zlaPT08Tmxc

Evolve expertly blends cooperative and competitive multiplayer experiences as a team of four hunters face off against a single, player-controlled monster. Set on an alien planet in the distant future, gamers hunt their prey in adrenaline-pumping 4V1 matches. Players experience Evolve as a first-person shooter when playing cooperatively as the four hunters, while they control the monster in the third-person perspective, providing a gameplay experience unique to Evolve.

Briefly: It’s already out in Japan, and will be releasing soon in Europe, but Sony just made the slimmer, lighter Playstation Vita official for North America.

The Vita 2000 will launch exclusively in a Borderlands 2 bundle this Spring. The 2000 is about 20% thinner and 15% lighter than the previous model, and it also has 1Gb of built-in memory (up from 0), and about an hour of extra battery life. The only downside? It uses a standard LCD over the gorgeous OLED from the original model.

The bundle actually sounds fantastic. It (of course) includes Borderlands 2, but it’ll also come with a decently-sized 8Gb memory card. I’m running an 8Gb in my Vita right now, and it’s been enough for about 3 full Vita games, plus some download-only titles like Spelunky, OlliOlli (which I’m still obsessed with, check out my review here), and Lone Survivor.

I haven’t been a fan of the Vita for most of its life (though I did buy one on launch day), but with the myriad of indie games now available on the console, an astonishing Playstation Plus collection, and Remote Play for PS4 (and Playstation Now down the pipeline), it’s really becoming a decent system (though memory cards are still far too expensive).

Will you be picking up a Vita? Check out the announcement video below, and let us know!

Briefly: This song has been stuck in my head ever since I left the theatre on Friday, and now I can listen to it over and over and over again.

The official music video for Tegan & Sara (and The Lonely Island’s) ‘Everything Is Awesome’ has just hit the internet. It’s hilariously low-budget, and super (super) catchy.

Did you already catch The Lego Movie? What did you think of it? Be sure to catch the just-released episode of Geekscape (finally, right?), where Jonathan and guest Marie Jamora give their thoughts on the film (plus so much more)!

Briefly: First announced back in April of 2013, a new trailer for the adaptation of Sony and Ninja Theory’s Heavenly Sword has just debuted online.

This animated adaptation is coming from Blockade Entertainment, and Anna Torv is set to return as Nariko. I never actually got a chance to play Heavenly Sword, but this adaptation definitely looks like something I’d check out.

Watch the short new trailer below, and let us know what you think! Heavenly Sword is set to hit VOD and select theatres this Spring!

Miss the film’s announcement trailer? Check it out here!

Briefly: Following the behind-the-scenes look that was released last week, HBO has debuted a near 15-minute sneak peak at what’s to come on Game of Thrones.

I haven’t actually watched the video myself, as I haven’t yet finished season three and I’m not too keen on spoiling it. The description reads that the video “features clips from upcoming episodes, behind-the-scenes-footage, interviews with talent, and cast members’ answers to questions posed by fans.”

Take a look at the video below, and let us know what you hope to see this season! Game of Thrones premieres on April 6th.

Briefly: Here’s some interesting news for a slow, slow Saturday (aside from that cool Gotham casting anyways).

James Franco’s Rabbit Bandini production company has just picked up the film rights to The Disaster Artist: My Life Inside The Room, a book that digs deep into the production of what many consider the worst film of all-time, Tommy Wiseau’s The Room.

Here’s the synopsis for the book, which was written by actor Greg Sestero and journalist Tom Bissell:

Nineteen-year-old Greg Sestero met Tommy Wiseau at an acting school in San Francisco. Wiseau’s scenes were rivetingly wrong, yet Sestero, hypnotized by such uninhibited acting, thought, “I have to do a scene with this guy.” That impulse changed both of their lives. Wiseau seemed never to have read the rule book on interpersonal relationships (or the instructions on a bottle of black hair dye), yet he generously offered to put the aspiring actor up in his LA apartment. Sestero’s nascent acting career first sizzled, then fizzled, resulting in Wiseau’s last-second offer to Sestero of costarring with him in The Room, a movie Wiseau wrote and planned to finance, produce, and direct—in the parking lot of a Hollywood equipment-rental shop.

Wiseau spent $6 million of his own money on his film, but despite the efforts of the disbelieving (and frequently fired) crew and embarrassed (and frequently fired) actors, the movie made no sense. Nevertheless Wiseau rented a Hollywood billboard featuring his alarming headshot and staged a red carpet premiere. The Room made $1800 at the box office and closed after two weeks. One reviewer said that watching The Room was like “getting stabbed in the head.”

The Disaster Artist is Greg Sestero’s laugh-out-loud funny account of how Tommy Wiseau defied every law of artistry, business, and friendship to make “the Citizen Kane of bad movies” (Entertainment Weekly), which is now an international phenomenon, with Wiseau himself beloved as an oddball celebrity. Written with award-winning journalist Tom Bissell, The Disaster Artist is an inspiring tour de force that reads like a page-turning novel, an open-hearted portrait of an enigmatic man who will improbably capture your heart.

Franco has signed on to direct the film, and Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg (who we’re recently in the news themselves for a long-awaited project) are set to produce?

Have you seen the film? Would you watch a movie about its creation? Sound out below!

Briefly: Fox has found its Jim Gordon.

The O.C. and Southland star Benjamin McKenzie will play the young Commissioner in the currently-in-development pilot Gotham. He’ s no stranger to the world of Batman either, as he voiced the Dark Knight himself in the 2011 animated feature Batman: Year One.

Details on Gotham are still few and far between, but the series is set to tell the origin of the commissioner, and will also feature a young, pre-Batman Bruce Wayne (as well as some of the franchise’s classic villains).

Are you looking forward to the series? Are you hoping for a dark, Batman Begins style Gotham, or something a little more fun? Let us know in the comments below, and we’ll be sure to keep you up to date on all things Gotham.

Briefly: Following the synopsis and key art release late last month, A&E has debuted a brand new trailer for the second season of Bates Motel.

Bates Motel premieres on March 3rd, and as know, we couldn’t me more excited for it. Take a look at the trailer below, and let us know what you think!

Picking up from last season, Norman (Freddie Highmore) is fixating on Miss Watson’s death while Norma’s mysterious past starts to haunt the family with the introduction of her brother. Meanwhile, Norman’s brother Dylan, (Max Thieriot), gets more entrenched in the familial drug war that fuels White Pine Bay and finds himself right in the middle of the danger as Bradley (Nicola Peltz), who remains on the hunt to uncover her father’s killer, is driven to precarious extremes. Sheriff Romero (Nestor Carbonell), is caught up on all fronts as everything in town escalates and Emma (Olivia Cooke) complicates her relationship with Norman as the duo explore new love interests, bringing new and old characters along for the ride.

Briefly: The Lego Movie hits theatres today (I’m set to see it in a couple of hours, and I’m very excited), and apparently, the film also has a tie-in game.

The game is fittingly titled The Lego Movie Video Game, and it looks just as absurdly excellent as the movie that it’s based on. Here’s the game’s synopsis, straight from the press release:

The LEGO Movie Videogame takes players on an awesome adventure through fantastical LEGO worlds, including Bricksburg, Cloud Cuckoo Land and the Wild West of Flatbush Gulch. And for the first time ever in a LEGO game, all environments are made entirely of digital LEGO bricks. Based on the humorous and action-packed events from the film, The LEGO Movie Videogame puts players in control of Emmet, an ordinary LEGO minifigure mistakenly thought to be “The Special” — a character prophesized to save the world from an evil LEGO tyrant. Using the abilities of more than 90 characters inspired by the film, which include an unlikely cast from some of the world’s most beloved and well-knowing properties, including DC Comics Super Heroes like Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman, family members of all ages will navigate 15 exciting levels in the console version and 45 action-packed missions in the handheld version. With unexpected moments and twists at every level, gamers will build their way -through a uniquely LEGO adventure on their ultimate mission to bring creativity to their LEGO world.

Take a look at the launch trailer for the game below, and let us know if you plan to pick it up! The game is available for Xbox 360, PS3, Wii U, Vita, and 3DS. Playable characters in the game include Emmet (voiced by Chris Pratt), Vitruvius (Morgan Freeman), Wyldstyle (Elizabeth Banks), Batman (Will Arnett) and Lord Business (WIll Ferrell).

Briefly: Just when you thought the cast of The Avengers: Age of Ultron couldn’t get any bigger (it’s already added Aaron Taylor-Johnson Elizabeth Olsen, and James Spader, among others), it again grows by one more.

No stranger to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (he has been the voice of JARVIS since the first Iron Man film), Paul Bettany has joined the film and will portray The Vision.

Does this mean that we’ll see James Spader’s Ultron create The Vision in the film? Or will that have already occurred? Maybe Whedon is ignoring that facet of the story altogether? In any case, we’ll be sure to update you as we learn more.

What do you think of the news? Is there anyone else you’d rather have seen in the role? Let us know!

Vision_(Earth-616)_00-1

Briefly: Back in November it was rumoured that AMC was actively working on a pilot based on Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon’s Vertigo comic book, Preacher. It was also rumoured that This Is The End duo Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg were tapped to write the pilot.

Today, AMC confirmed everything. The series is in the works, and Rogen and Goldberg are attached. Breaking Bad producer Sam Caitlin will act as show runner.

In case you need a refresher, “Preacher follows Reverend Jesse Custer, a tough Texas preacher who has lost his faith, has learned that God has left Heaven and abandoned His responsibilities. He finds himself the only person capable of tracking God down, demanding answers, and making Him answer for His dereliction of duty. Accompanying Jesse on his journey is his former girlfriend and a friendly vampire who seems to prefer a pint in the pub to the blood of the innocent. On his tail is one of the most iconic bad guys in print – an immortal, unstoppable killing machine named the Saint of Killers – a western lone gunman archetype whose sole purpose is to hunt and kill Jesse.”

Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg said, “This is amazing! We’ve tried for seven years to work on Preacher and we’re so psyched AMC is finally letting us. It is our favorite comic of all time, and we’re going to do everything we can to do it right. Humperdoo!”

Series creator Garth Ennis added “Steve Dillon and I are very happy to see Preacher being developed for TV, which seems a much more natural home for the story than a 2-hour movie. Between them, Sony TV and AMC have brought viewers two of my favorite shows with Breaking Bad and Mad Men, and it’s exactly that kind of creative commitment and courage that Preacher needs. Obviously it’s taken a while, but Ken Levin along with Neal Moritz and his team refused to give up, long after the point when I myself grew skeptical, and their unrelenting enthusiasm for the project has gotten us where we need to be. I’m particularly impressed that Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg and Sam Catlin understand Preacher fully — meaning they get it for what it is, not some vague approximation. All in all, it looks like Preacher can now be brought to TV in a way that I’d previously not have thought possible, and I very much appreciate that Steve and I have been included in the conversation in the way that we have.”

The comic book series ran from 1995-2000, and was one of the very first series that I read from start to finish (while, of course, loving every second of it). As such, I am so, so, so excited to see the property finally leave development hell, and end up on the small screen (instead of the big one).

Are you excited for the series? Who would you like to see play Jesse? Sound out below!

Briefly: Runescape developers Jagex have a new free-to-play title in the works, and it’s set in the Transformers universe… also, it’s called Transformers Universe.

IGN today debuted the first trailer for the game, which doesn’t look to feature any actual gameplay from the title, but does set the stage for a world that looks pretty damn cool. I’ve never played Runescape myself, but as far as I’m aware the game has had a great reputation for most of its existence.

On the official website for Transformers Universe, Jagex CEO Mark Gerhard had a few words to say about today’s trailer and the development of the game. Here’s the text in full, and head below to check out the game’s debut trailer:

First off some introductions. My name is Mark Gerhard and I’m the CEO & CTO of Jagex.

We’re probably better known as the developers of the world’s largest free browser game RuneScape but now, following the past 3 years of development, Transformers Universe!

Many of you joined us on our journey for the first time when we shared a sneak peek into our aspiration for the game back in 12/12/12. Since then we’ve refined our vision, gameplay, tech and team to bring you what we believe will be the start of an entertaining, social and competitive game for all of you to enjoy over the next decade and beyond!

2013 was a critical year in the evolution of Transformers Universe. It was essential that we just knuckled down and got on with the core gameplay, and that unfortunately meant there was not much news to share for anyone outside of Jagex.

However from today onwards you can expect regular updates, and soon all start participating first-hand as the game moves from core development, through each stage of community participation, balancing, polish and iteration.

So here’s the big news. We are 100% set to launch Transformers Universe this Summer, and will be progressively inviting an ever-widening portion of the BETA community to enjoy the game before opening it to the rest of the world this summer!
With that in mind, let’s talk a bit more about the game itself.

We’ve built a massively online, tactical action game, or MOTA as I like to call it! Transformers Universe offers fast-paced, battle centric, tactical action with a selection of game modes for core gamers, casual gamers and Transformers enthusiasts alike.

As the Commander of a new squad, you will recruit, maintain and battle others with a unique collection of Transformers warriors created in collaboration with our friends at Hasbro.

Autobots versus Decepticons, you’ll team up to play with and against other Commanders around the world in tactical and strategic online battles, competing for supremacy in the global faction war. Legendary Transformers characters will make special appearances – but more on that another time!

Your squad of Bots are a faction-specific collection with their own play styles, weaponry, augment options and specialties. There are countless fighting strategies when battling them and we really believe they will crystallise, embody and capture both what Transformers is all about and your imaginations.

So what’s next? Well, very soon we’re going to be releasing our first in-engine trailer, which will give you a first look at some of the playable Bots in the game.

We’ll be posting up exclusive in-game screenshots soon, so you can see the game coming together. You will be the first people to see them, and naturally deserve nothing less.

What else should you expect from Transformers Universe in 2014? After the trailer we’ll also be launching numerous other initiatives; kicking-off our BETA program first, revealing and detailing the games major features and modes, spotlighting the new characters that you’ll be able to own in-game and a whole lot more.

The best place to get all relevant information will be right here on this website. You’re a central part of what will make the Transformers Universe community special, so please do sign up to our channels on YouTube, Twitter, Facebook, and the official forums.

2014 is the launch year for Transformers Universe and the start of an epic journey as you #testyourmetal. Soon you’ll be able to experience this for yourself as we roll out to BETA.

I look forward to seeing you on the frontlines.
Have fun and speak soon,
Thanks,
Mark

Sounds pretty cool, huh? Here’s the trailer:

Briefly: NBC today debuted the full trailer for the next season of their critically acclaimed drama, Hannibal.

I can’t actually bring myself to watch the trailer, as I unfortunately haven’t yet finished (or started) the first season. From everything that I’ve heard about the show, it’s undeniably worth checking out, and I’m very much looking forward to doing so as soon as I get the chance.

Take a look at the new trailer below, and let us know if you’re excited for the series to return. Hannibal premieres on Friday, February 28th.

The dark and haunting series “Hannibal” returns for a second season, with more shocking revelations and games of psychological cat and mouse. Will Graham (Hugh Dancy) is locked in a mental asylum accused of Hannibal Lecter’s crimes (Mads Mikkelsen). Now that Will sees Hannibal for what he truly is, he faces a fight to prove his own sanity and convince those closest to him he is innocent of murder. Jack Crawford (Laurence Fishburne) is dealing with his own feelings about Will, and whether his protégé is in fact a cold-blooded killer. Looking for answers, Jack turns to a man he has come to trust: Hannibal Lecter. With Will locked up, Hannibal becomes Jack’s new consultant on cases. Hannibal is torn between self-preservation and his desire to keep Will close to him, despite advice from his psychiatrist Bedelia Du Maurier (Gillian Anderson) to stay away.

The deadly dance between these characters continues to turn in startling and unexpected ways, in a season that will show nothing can ever be the same again…

Brieflly: Since Syfy’s latest drama Helix isn’t faring too well with fans, maybe this news will keep you interested in the network:

DMZ, the DC series by Brian Wood and Riccardo Burchielli, is being adapted for television. Not familiar with with the property? Here’s the synopsis for the series, which ran monthly from 2005 – 2012:

In the near future, America’s worst nightmare has come true. With military adventurism overseas bogging down the Army and National Guard, the U.S. government mistakenly neglects the very real threat of anti-establishment militias scattered across the 50 states. Like a sleeping giant, Middle America rises up and violently pushes its way to the shining seas, coming to a standstill at the line in the sand — Manhattan or, as the world now knows it, the DMZ.

Matty Roth, a naïve young man and aspiring photojournalist, lands a dream gig following a veteran war journalist into the heart of the DMZ. Things soon go terribly wrong, and Matty finds himself lost and alone in a world he’s only seen on television. There, he is faced with a choice: try to find a way off the island, or make his career with an assignment most journalists would kill for. But can he survive in a war zone long enough to report the truth?

The critically acclaimed, award winning series, sounds interesting as hell, and it’s got some very successful producers already attached. Andre and Maria Jacquemetton, former Mad Men executive producers, and Gravity producer David Heyman have all joined the project.

There has been no work on a premiere date, or any actors at this time, but we’ll be sure to fill you in as we learn more. Were you a fan of the comic? What do you hope to see from a series? Sound out below!

Briefly: We’ve got Paul Rudd as Scott Lang, we’ve got Michael Douglas as Hank Pym, and now Evangeline Lilly is allegedly in talks for the film’s female lead.

Plot details for the film are still unknown, but according to Variety (who first reported the news), Lilly could play the daughter of Lang and Pym’s love interest.

Ant-Man recently took the now-delayed Man of Steel sequel’s original date of July 17th, 2015. Are you looking forward to the film? Who would you like to see Lilly play? Sound out below!

Briefly: Today, Irrational Games revealed just when we’ll finally be able to play the second and concluding chapter of Bioshock Infinite: Burial at Sea.

The episode will launch globally on Steam, PS3, and Xbox 360 on March 25th. As before, the DLC will cost $14.99 on all platforms (but you should have just purchased the $19.99 season pass instead.

The main criticism that players had with Burial at Seas first chapter was that it was simply too short. The campaign could be completed in around two hours (which many stated did not warrant a $14.99 purchase). Ken Levine revealed on twitter yesterday that the next episode will be significantly longer:

Briefly: The Uncharted movie may have found its director.

Seth Gordon, director of the award winning documentary The King of Kong: A Fistful of Quarters, and the more recent comedy Horrible Bosses, has entered negotiations with Sony Pictures Entertainment to helm the adaptation.

The script comes from Safe House writer David Guggenheim, but it’s unknown at this time what piece of the Uncharted tale the film will tell.

Briefly: The Lego Movie hits theatres this Friday, and I am so damned excited.

Positive reviews for the film have started rolling in, every trailer has been fantastic, and I cannot wait to get in line. Today, Warner Bros. Pictures debuted a new featurette for the film, which takes us behind-the-scenes, and features many of the movie’s all-star cast.

Take a look at the featurette below, and let us know how freaking excited you are.

An ordinary guy named Emmet (Chris Pratt) is mistaken as being the Master Builder, the one who can save the universe. With the aid of an old mystic Vitruvius (Morgan Freeman), a tough young lady named Lucy (Elizabeth Banks), and Batman (Will Arnett), Emmet will fight to defeat the evil tyrant Lord Business (Will Ferrell) who is bent on destroying the universe by gluing it together.

Briefly: Season two won’t premiere for another ten days, but Netflix has already greenlit a third season of award-winning drama House of Cards.

A Netflix representative revealed the new to THR, and stated that production on the third season will begin soon.

Netflix chief content officer Ted Sarandos stated back in November that “I think if you look at the original House of Cards, there was a natural third season, and we could go well beyond that.”

Briefly: Summit Entertainment today debuted the final trailer for next month’s Divergent.

I still don’t know much about the project (I’ve never read the Veronica Roth series that the book is based on), but everything we’ve seen from the footage released so far has been very solid. This new trailer simply adds to the mystery, and also features plenty of excellent new footage.

Take a look at the trailer below, and let us know if you’re looking forward to it! Divergent hits theatres on March 21st.

Those of you who have read the books, how does Divergent look to you?

Tris Prior (Shailene Woodley) chooses Dauntless—the daring risk-takers who pursue bravery above all else. During the Dauntless initiation, Tris completes death-defying stunts and faces her inmost fears in spectacular simulations. When she discovers she is a Divergent, someone who will never be able to fit into just one faction, she is warned that she must conceal this secret or risk her life. As Tris uncovers a looming war which threatens her family and the life of the mysterious Dauntless leader whom she has come to love, Tris must face her greatest test yet—deciding whether revealing she is a Divergent will save her world—or destroy it.
