Hello, what have we here?

“We’re so lucky to have an artist as talented as Donald join us,” said Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, the directing pair of the Untilted film. “These are big shoes to fill, and an even bigger cape, and this one fits him perfectly, which will save us money on alterations. Also, we’d like to publicly apologize to Donald for ruining Comic-Con for him forever.”

LucasFilm announced and it was donald-glover-lando-calrissian-star-warsposted on Twitter, @starwars, the newest cast member to the Untitled Han Solo film, is Donald Glover. He will be playing Lando Calrissian, the smooth talking smuggler. Han Solo will be played by Aldin Ehrenreich. Playing Lando in the original Star Wars films was Billy Dee Miller opposite Harrison Ford’s Solo.

Who is Donald Glover? one may ask. He is known for his work on NBC’s Community. He is also known for his critically acclaimed FX series, Atlanta. He was in Ridley Scott’s Martian and can be seen in the upcoming Marvel film, Spiderman: Homecoming.

The duo meet years before the events of A New Hope. The film will follow the duo in their formative years, giving us a look at what makes these guys tick. The Untitled Han Solo Film is set to premiere sometime in 2018.

Good Casting choice? Or bad casting choice? Sound off below.

Sound those klaxon alarms because the second official trailer for Star Wars: Rogue One hit the internet this morning after premiering on Good Morning America. Many speculated that the final trailer for the stand-alone Star Wars film would be one of the trailers attached to Doctor Strange, but lo and behold, a new Star Wars: Rogue One trailer is here now! Perhaps there will be another trailer, but after watching this one, it is difficult to imagine what else Disney can show without giving any more away.

Rather than waste any more time, go ahead and watch it here and share your thoughts with us at our official Twitter account @geekscapedotnet.

Star Wars; Rogue One arrives in theaters December 16.

Disney CEO Bob Iger has confirmed another entry into the ‘Star Wars’ series of stand-alone “anthology” movies is set for release in 2020.

During the Goldman Sachs Communacopia Conference, and as reported by Deadline, Bob Iger said that a writer had been hired to work on the film. That would be the third in the series that begins with the release of ‘Rogue One: A Star Wars Story’ in December 2016, and followed by the untitled Han Solo film, due for release in May 2018. There are no details yet on the film.

rogue 12

More interesting to me was his other remarks regarding the franchise during the conference, Iger said that he had recently met with Luscasfilm’s Kathleen Kennedy and “started talking about what we’re going to do in 2021 and beyond”. With episodes eight and nine of the main series due for release in 2017 and 2019 i’m excited to see it get the same attention as the MCU. Disney has figured out a formula and they are churning out great products.

star-wars-obi-comic

The popular demand is for a Ewan McGregor lead Obi Wan Kenobi film that would take place during his time living on Tatooine. This year Marvel published various ‘Star Wars’ comics and the main comic showcased a story line where Obi Wan  was keeping an eye on Luke Skywalker and trying to keep him out of trouble from afar all while trying to adjust on Tattooine and dealing with Jaba the Hut’s gang.

What are your dream projects for the third ‘Star Wars’ anthology film?

Briefly: We new he was coming, and today Disney gave us a fantastic new look at Grand Admiral Thrawn in the upcoming season of Star Wars Rebels.

This season, having established a secret base on Atollon, the Ghost crew, now led by a more powerful Ezra, strengthens the rebel fleet by acquiring new resources and recruits eager to stand against the Empire. However, the Imperial efforts to eliminate the rebellion are now being led by the coldly analytical Grand Admiral Thrawn, whose strategic, tactical and cultural insights make him a threat unlike any they have faced before. In season three, Ezra and Sabine take on new roles and challenges as the rebels prepare for their biggest mission yet – a direct assault on the Empire.

This is one series that I’m really kicking myself in the butt for not having seen yet. I’ve heard nothing but good things about it, and the next seasons looks so freaking cool.

Take a look at the trailer below, and let us know what you think! Star Wars Rebels returns on September 24th.

Briefly: This was simply too incredible not to share.

ILM has published a new, Star Wars: The Force Awakens visual effects reel to their official YouTube page, along with the following note:

We are pleased to share a sample of the visual effects work created for Star Wars: The Force Awakens. The history of ILM leads all the way back to 1975 and origins of Star Wars and The Force Awakens gave us the opportunity to once again push the boundaries of what is possible in character animation and visual effects while combining cutting edge practical effects and physical sets. ILM studios in San Francisco, Singapore, Vancouver and London each contributed to the film effects as did our partners Hybride, Base FX and Virtuos.

The video showcases just how ILM composited a myriad of scenes, backgrounds, ships, characters, and otherwise, and it’s simply perplexing to see just how many pieces some of these amazing compositions are built from.

Take a look at the effects reel below; you’re likely to watch this one more than one.

I’ll admit. The idea of Star Wars Rebels was a tough one to accept when it was initially announced. With all of the hubbub surrounding the Extended Universe being scrapped canon wise, it was hard to imagine how a kid focused prequel linking the two trilogies would do anything but complicate the continuity. Bringing in new Jedi, Sith, and obviously, Rebels, that we never hear about during any of the major events of the films sounded like a recipe for disaster on paper. Then… Season 1 happened, and quickly changed the minds of many of its skeptics. By creating its own identity while tying loosely into the abruptly cancelled Clone Wars animated series, Rebels teased the potential to create a proper bridge between episodes three and four. In this way, the show doubles down throughout its second season, creating constantly compelling storylines that work surprisingly well both as standalone episodes, and serve as glimpses into what the future may hold for The Force and its users. That is… When the show isn’t spinning its wheels with inconsequential content.

Star Wars Rebels Season 2 Review Image 3

The crew is back for season 2!

Following the defeat of the Sith Inquisitor at the end of the first season, Kanan Jarrus, the Jedi Knight who avoided Order 66, and his newly discovered apprentice, Ezra Bridger, continue to travel the galaxy as part of the Lothal Rebels, who are working towards the destruction of the Empire long before Luke took up a lightsaber. Leading the group alongside Kanan is Hera, an ace pilot who’s exposure to battle dates back to the Clone Wars. Rounding out their crew is Sabine Wren, a Mandalorian soldier with a past as a bounty hunter, (and a penchant for graffiti), Zeb Orrelios, a Lasat warrior who is out for revenge after The Empire attacked his homeworld, and their droid, Chopper. With the idea of rebellion still in its infancy, the crew constantly finds itself hiding from their enemies as they fight for territory and resources, narrowly escaping danger at every turn. But with The Empire’s strongest enforcer, Darth Vader, now on the hunt, will the return of Anakin Skywalker’s apprentice, Ashoka Tano, be enough to protect the crew from the wrath of the Dark Side? And will its pull be too much for the crew itself to resist?

From the very first episode, Rebels raises the stakes with the crew’s first encounter with Vader. The setup puts many of the season’s themes and conflicts into place, including Kanan’s paranoia over not being strong enough to protect his apprentice and crew, Ezra’s growing frustration with his mentor’s lack of faith as the Dark Side begins to tempt him, and Ashoka’s inevitable reunion with her former master. As if to ensure that this wouldn’t be a one sided conflict from the get-go, Vader inexplicably disappears after the rebels narrowly escape, sending two new Inquisitors to complete the job that he was so close to finishing himself. Along the way, the crew meets Lando, Leia, and other key figures as they travel the galaxy in search of a way to defeat the Empire, all while avoiding detection themselves.

Star Wars Rebels Season 2 Review Image 2

Seeing Rex again is one of the highlights of the season.

In the episodes in between the first two and last three, the season uses its 22 episode total to better acquaint us with the crew and their backgrounds as they work towards establishing their new base. Hera’s skill as a pilot and her history with her father, the Clone Wars hero, Cham Syndulla, is given its time in the spotlight, alongside Sabine’s bounty hunter past, and  Kanan’s distrust of Clones after Order 66 when Captain Rex resurfaces. Among the side stories however, none were more compelling than late in the season, when Zeb becomes stranded alongside Agent Kallus, the Empire commander who spends most of the season trying to weed out the heroes. Easily the most compelling episode that’s not focused on the Jedi and Sith, the two enemies are forced to work together to survive the native threats that surround them, all while finding a better understanding of each other. Through their interactions, we learn that not everyone in the Empire is evil. Many think they’re doing the right thing by bringing order to the galaxy, and see their enemies as those who misunderstand their good intentions. From Kallus’ point of view in his days as a low rank officer, his squad was meant to help Zeb’s home world, but distrust and unrest from the natives led to paranoia from the ground troops, which would eventually break into the battle that would nearly wipe out the Lasat. By the end, both characters develop mutual respect for each other as people despite being pit against each other in the larger conflict, bringing a sense of humanity to the evil Empire we’ve grown accustomed to for decades. That is, in between jokes about how Stormtroopers are terrible shots, which is on full display here. In fact, outside of the Sith and Kallus, it’s hard to take any of them as a serious threat when they come off as so incompetent every time one of the team’s unlikely plans to escape their predicaments goes off without a hitch. You’ll start to wonder how they held a grip on the galaxy for as long as they did.

Star Wars Rebels Season 2 Review Image 1Yup, still imposing. And we love him for it.

Make no mistake about it though, because when the Dark Side is in full force, they’re still the group that we love to hate. With some gripping build up to the final conflict of the season, old friends such as Yoda re-surface to impart some lasting knowledge on our master-less Jedi and his Padawan. After the well constructed build up finally hits its crescendo, and we finally get the face off between Ashoka and Vader, there’s so many moving parts that all fit so well together that even this long awaited battle can’t overshadow what’s going on with Kanan and Ezra. I won’t spoil too much for those who haven’t seen it, but by brining back a ghost from the past, we suddenly have ties that go back to the earliest points in the film timeline, all the way to The Force Awakens. In typical Star Wars fashion, the second story ends with the heroes in a bad spot. By the time it was over, I definitely wanted more, and I can’t wait to find out what the fallout is going to be after the events of the finale. But most of all, I’m very anxious for how all of this is going to end.

With all the excitement out of the way however, I can’t talk about the season as a whole while ignoring some poorly placed episodes in the season that serve as nothing more than time fillers, making certain points throughout the run feel like they were stretching out material to meet the season total. I get that in a weekly cartoon, especially one marketed with children in mind, they’re not going to be the ones analyzing whether or not the episode had merit. They’ll largely care about seeing the characters do some cool stuff to hold them over until the following week. But even among the pointless episode here and there, the episode before the two part finale is the most unfortunate of all. After making an announcement that was teased to have everlasting effects on the crew, Kanan and Ezra find themselves playing Starship Troopers near their newly founded base with the rest of their team, in a complete throwaway that undercuts the gravity of the first and last two minutes of the episode. Thankfully, the following episodes were enough to pull me back in, but the change in tone was jarring to say the least.

Will Ezra be tempted by the Dark Side?

Now if you’ve watched the season as it aired and were looking to get your money’s worth with extra content, you’re going to find yourself disappointed on that front. Each disc in the 3-disc set has its own set of Rebels Recon shorts, where we learn about what went on to develop each episode. These mini documentaries however, have been on StarWars.com since each episode aired, so you can head over to the site and watch them there, rather than needing this set. The third disc houses two bonus shorts, one going over the history between Ashoka and Anakin, while the other talks about easter eggs that tie the season to the rest of the Star Wars continuity. While interesting, each one clocks in at less than five minutes, making the package feel bare bones outside of the actual episodes.

Star Wars Rebels Season 2 Review Image 5

Lightsaber duels will never stop being great.

So if you’re someone who wants a satisfying continuation of the unfinished Clone Wars saga, who never watched Rebels and want some fantastic storytelling in that galaxy far, far away, or who can’t wait to re-live the events of the second season, do yourself a favor and pick up Season 2. The special features might be sparce, and the season could have been better without a few episodes, but overall, these episodes succeed in producing original stories that manage to be compelling all on their own, while enriching the established film universe. Most of all, I can’t wait for more! So in that sense, mission accomplished.

Kenny Baker who portrayed R2-D2 in the Star Wars films has passed away at the age of 81.

Despite only being 3 feet and 8 inches tall, Kenny Baker made the R2-D2 character a larger than life icon. He brought so much personality and emotions to a robotic character that would make a fan favorites for decades to come. Artoo wasn’t the only scene stealing character that he portrayed in the Star Wars Franchise. In ‘Return of the Jedi’ he was also Paploo, the Ewok that steals the speeder bike from the storm troopers.

Kenny Baker was a vital piece in the Star Wars machine. His and Anthony Daniel’s portrayal of the droids were a hit with fans that helped the characters spawn spin-off cartoons and comics.

Acting from the age of 16, Kenny Baker, has also been appeared many fan favorite films that include The Elephant ManTime BanditsWillow (1988), and Flash Gordon.

The second trailer for this years Star Wars film, Rogue One, has just hit the internet. And it is FUCKING incredible. I think I am more excited for this than I was Episove VII. Check it out below.

This trailer is incredible. Director Gareth Edwards really knows how to make stuff feel MASSIVE on film. The music, produced by French composer Alexandre Desplat (Godzilla, Syriana, Argo), is OUTSTANDING. I honestly think this is going to do more than Episode VII. It feels more “real”.

Star Wars: Rogue One hits theaters this December 16th and stars  Felicity Jones, Diego Luna, Riz Ahmed, Ben Mendelsohn, Jiang Wen, Donnie Yen, Forest Whitaker, Mads Mikkelsen, Alan Tudyk and Jonathan Aris.

*Cue the heavy Darth Vader breathing*

Bask in the glory of these beautiful thirteen hi-res images from ‘Rogue One’. I have already updated my ‘Force Awakens’ wallpapers on my phone to these new ones. These images are absolutely gorgeous and brings a brand new depth and details to the old Stormtrooper suits, that Death Trooper suits are to die for!!!

This Thursday a new trailer is slated to premier during the Olympics, and i can’t wait to see whats in store. I already know that Donnie Yen is going to be favorite character of the film with that staff, i cant wait to see what it can do.

‘Rogue One: A Star Wars Story’ opens December 16th and stars Felicity Jones,Diego Luna, Ben Mendelsohn, Donnie Yen, Jiang Wen, Mads Mikkelsen, Alan Tudyk, Riz Ahmed, and Forest Whitaker.

The first TV spots for Rogue One has just been released… and it show no new footage, so that’s dissapointing.

I’m so excited for this ‘filler’ movie that I even made the wailing alarm my notification sound for my phone (and it’s been like that ever since the first trailer was released).

The two parts that always gets me hyped are Donnie Yen with the staff, and the AT-AT aiming at the screen. I can’t wait!

Star Wars has always had its place in Disney history, with the always popular Star Tours ride, Jedi Training Academy and the now defunct Star Wars Weekend at Disney’s Hollywood Studios (the latter adding somewhat of a convention feel to the parks). The Disney characters would come out to Star Wars costumes, Star Wars themed parades, actors from the films would be present on certain weekends for picturess and autographs, they would even host special themed stage shows. Like the always popular Hyperspace Hoopla and themed fireworks. Disney really went all out during those weekends.

With the acquisition of the Star Wars property it was just a matter of time before Disney would ramp it up and make it a permanent mainstay at the parks. At last years D23 that is exactly what happened, Disney CEO Bob Iger announced Star Wars Land for both Disney World and Disneyland. Then, with the announcement of the conclusion of Star Wars Weekends and of the also popular holiday “The Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights”, we were now one step closer to having Star Wars Land.

I recently took my annual family trip out to Walt Disney World at the same time that the Star Wars Celebration was going on across the pond in Europe. Between all of the theme park stuff and all of the news announcements, I wasn’t expecting a Star Wars overload while on vacation.

First off, I had never been to any of the Star Wars weekends, and didn’t know what to expect of the new offerings that the parks started this Summer. With half of Hollywood Studios closed off with construction walls, Disney added the Star Wars Launch Bay which actually made its debut before the release of The Force Awakens and the most recently added Captain Phasma Storm Trooper March, Star Wars: A Galaxy Far Far Away, and Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular.

Jedi Training: Trials of the Temple

This kid participation show recently was revamped by receiving a Star Wars: Rebels overlay. Kids now receive training with characters that resembles our rebel heroes and encounter the Seventh Sister Inquisitor and Darth Vader. At the end of the trials they face off on a third villain which I believe varies day to day, I have seen videos of Darth Maul, but witnessed it being Kylo Ren. It’s a cool show for the little ones especially if they get to brag about facing off big Star War Villains.

Star Tours – The Adventure Continues

This ride had huge fan fare and a resurgence in popularity when it received a upgrade back in 2011. With the inclusion of multiples scenes, there are now 96 scene combinations to this ride resulting in a myriad of different ride experiences. The ride now includes 2 new Force Awakens scenes. I was lucky enough to receive both new scenes in my ride combination. First, after the speedster warps, they now land in Jakku where you’re now following the Millennium Falcon while being chased by TIE Fighters, and we then receive an incoming message from Finn. Now this scenes is the best of them all for the simple fact that your are now playing out the chase scene from the movie. I was completely overjoyed feeling like I was in the actual Jakku scene from the movie. After that, the speedster warps again and we receive a special transmission from BB-8 regarding a special mission. I always enjoyed this ride but for you continuity nerds like me, you have to heavily forgive it. There are scenes/characters from the prequels and original trilogy that also used. So the following scene of being warped to the Death Star and fighting Bobba Fett was a bit jarring. Still Fun!

star-tours-00

Captain Phasma’s First Order Stormtrooper March

This march actually has a bit of prologue to it. Before each march starts, two Stormtroopers walk from the Launch Bay to the center stage clearing out the path and interacting with park guests. It was really cool to witness, they stopped my wife and harassed her for identification while the other trooper was trying to disperse the huge crowd following them.

The march takes place from the Launch Bay area to the center stage. Once at the stage Captain Phasma orders the trooper to perform some tasks to showcase the might of the First Order. Once I finished watching this I was impressed by the character and texted Jonathan how the park show redeemed her as a character. This show is is very short, and not much besides that.

20160717_150606_HDR

Star Wars: A Galaxy Far Far Away

This is another live action show that features various characters from all seven films. The stage show starts off with a highlight reel of the seven movies that kind of focuses on the incoming character. We get to see C-3PO, R2D2, Chewbacca, Darth Maul, Darth Vader, Bobba Fett, First Order Troopers along with Captain Phasma, Kylo Ren and BB-8. Depending on the character, certain pyrotechnics would go off to add to the effect of presence on stage.

Star Wars Launch Bay

This area, which was formally Animation Courtyard would be a celebration of Disney animation showcasing behind the scenes looks at the process and a display of items used in the current  movie. They would also host various popular character meet and greets. Depending on the newest Disney movie out, the area would get a quick re-theme to match the current hit, like for my prior trip it was themed for Wreck-It Ralph. The main stay was always Sorcerer Mickey and Mr. Incredible with Frozone.

Now the area was completely reworked for the sole purpose of Star Wars. When you first enter the area you can opt to watch a 10 minute video clip that works as an update of what going on with the Star Wars Cinematic Universe. After that you ushered into a hall with a bunch of props from the Star Wars Universe. I was happy to see Star Wars Rebels get some love with items replicated into the real world for display. after you work you way around a pod racer you find two separate lines for Kylo Ren and Chewbacca with more props on display to keep you busy while on line. Meeting them was a blast. For Kylo Ren you’re instructed to stand at attention while Kylo Measures you up.

Star Wars launch bay - kylo ren

One of the big surprises for me was when we were about to walk out and I stumbled upon a makeshift Cantina with two Jawas walking around dancing and taking pictures. This automatically triggered my memory of this area and I remembered that you can actually trade with them. So after some back and forth bantering and pictures I asked to make a trade, they pulled out a droid leg filled with trinkets. I lost it, they have thought of everything. I traded my sunglasses for a bar of soap and a jewel. they were ecstatic and parading the sunglasses around. I took a celebratory drink of blue milk and went on my merry way.

Snapchat-5500811491552275548Snapchat-7994884832062387993

It wouldn’t be Disney if you didn’t exit through a gift shop. If you are rich and wanted something Star Wars related from this trip, this was the place to get it. I saw things here for sale that I didn’t expect from full blown costumes to the Medals awarded at the end of Episode IV. I’m poor enough, so we opted to each get a Star Wars name tag, which caused a great debate of what our ranks would be.

20160728_095004

Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular

This was by far one of the most impressive fireworks display I have seen at Disney World. With a combination of lasers, projections and fireworks. The show is displayed in three “acts”. The first act covers the phenomena that is Star Wars and the magic that brought it to life.

The second act is about the movies and really brings you into the fold. This show is not for the casuals, different scenes are displayed from all seven films so it can be hard to follow. The greatest part of the section was when action is being portrayed on the projection. There was a scene with AT-AT walkers shooting towards the audience and the red lasers shoot across triggering pyrotechnics behind us. The other scene that stood out to me was the Emperor using force lightning and the projections just spreading across the area was so cool. It was just simply amazing.

The Third acts brings it back to being about the movies as whole and setting up the big finale. Different scenes are played out from each movie which are now creating a giant poster of every film until the finale of the iconic pose of Luke Skywalker’s hands clasped together on a lightsaber over the Chinese Theater sending up a giant beam of light into the air as to announce to the world that Star Wars has arrived at the Disney parks.

star-wars-galactic-spectacular-00

Just some notes I made from my observations of all the new stuff:

– They really focus on Kylo Ren’s temper tantrum. It gets displayed twice on two separate stage shows.

– Some of the continuity issues bother me, especially on Star Tours. But beggars can’t be choosers.

– The amount of silly merchandise is getting staggering. I saw a $15 popcorn bucket of a tie fighter that could barely hold any popcorn to begin with and the actual thing was massive. Also the Han Solo frozen in carbonite popcorn holder is just wrong.

– All the characters were great in keeping with my expectations of how they would act in the real world, with the exception of Chewbacca who seemed a bit tired.

I’m a sucker for nostalgia and I will miss all the old offerings from Hollywood Studios, but I cant wait for Toy Story Land and Star Wars to open. I fell completely in love with the the new Star Wars area and was just in awe of what could be coming once the Star Wars Land is completed. I’m sure not everything has been revealed to us of what’s to come. What we know so far is that there will be a full functioning Cantina, A Millennium Falcon Ride, and a ride centered around a battle between The First Order and and the Rebels.

On this trip I had the pleasure of visiting Hogwarts and Diagon Alley over at Universal Studios and was completely blown away to the attention to detail that i spent over 2 hours at each area soaking it all up. So if Star Wars Land is to serve as an answer to that, I can only imagine Disney is going to pull all the stops to make this the greatest add-on in theme park history.

During today’s Star Wars: Rebels panel at Star Wars Celebration, it was revealed that one of the most diabolical and cunning villains from the Star Wars Expanded Universe is coming to the show.

Originally debuted in Timothy Zahn’s ‘Heir to the Empire‘ trilogy (largely considered to be the greatest series of Star Wars novels ever written), Grand Admiral Thrawn became an instant fan favorite. When Emperor Palptaine and Darth Vader died at the end of Return of the Jedi and coupled with the destruction of the second Death Star, the Empire was in shambles. With the remnants of the Empire left leaderless, they were easily hunted down and captured by the Republic. Ultimately, Grand Admiral Thrawn would take it upon himself to unify the remnants of the Imperial Navy and mount calculated strikes against the Republic. After locating the late Emperor’s secret facility, and attaining the aid of a cloned Jedi, Thrawn was nearly successful in gaining control of the galaxy, but that was not to be. Thrawn ultimately met his end y the hands of his own bodyguard, but with Star Wars: Rebels, the Gran Admiral now has a new lease on life.

ThrawnBanner
Welcome back, you cunning villain, you.

When Disney and Lucasfilm announced in 2014 that the existing Star Wars Expanded Universe (all comic, video games, novels, etc.) was no longer canon, many fans became upset since it meant popular characters such as Mara Jade, Dash Rendar, Kyle Katarn, and Grand Admiral Thrawn no longer existed. With today’s announcement; however, there may be hope that other popular characters from the old EU will return in some way, shape or form.

Geekscapists, if you can bring back any character from the old Star Wars Expanded Universe, who would you bring back? Let us know in the comments below!

Briefly: If you were a fan of the spectacular The Force Awakens sizzle reel that was shown off at last year’s San Diego Comic-Con (and who wasn’t), you’re in for a freaking treat.

Disney has released a new sizzle real, featuring insanely gorgeous clips, behind the scenes looks, an incredible amount of practical effects, interviews with the cast and crew, and well, it’s just a phenomenal video that should garner a hell of a lot of excitement from fans and non-fans alike.

I loved hearing Gareth Edwards in the video noting that “The pressure is so high. We’re making a film that’s right touching my favourite film of all time, but then if you’re too respectful of it that you don’t do anything new or take a risk, then what are you bringing to the table?”

Star Wars: Rogue One looks entirely different from anything Star Wars that we’ve seen thus far, and I can’t freaking wait to get a closer look. Take a look at the sizzle reel below, and be sure to let us know what you think!

E3 is upon us and there are SO MANY big announcements! And because we are clearly the greatest video game show on the Geekscape network, we’re here to bring you all the biggest details… in half the time it takes “those other guys”! Joining Kenny and I in dissecting all things E3 are Corinne Irizarry and Mike Olivares, because there’s no way we can get through all of this alone! Microsoft announces the super powerful Project Scorpio but how much more expensive will it be than the Xbox One Slim? Will Sony win the Fall with the new PS4, ‘God of War 4’, all that VR and ‘The Last Guardian’? And why does ‘Zelda: Breath of the Wild’ give me chills? It’s all here and SO MUCH MORE!

At Sony’s E3 2016 press conference, the company revealed Star Wars Battlefront: X-Wing VR Missions. This will be a joint venture between Sony and EA for the PlayStation VR experience. Along with the previously announced Batman: Arkham VR,  Playstation VR is trying to kick ass right out the gates.

The trailer shows a brief glimpse of the gameplay of X-Wing Mission. Which will give what purchasers of the game always wanted, intergalactic space dogfights! Albeit it will come with a hefty $399 fee, and we thought an extra $50 season pass for more content was a steep price to pay.

Hail, Ceasar! star Alden Ehrenreich has landed the coveted role of young Han Solo in the next stand-alone ‘Star Wars’ spinoff film which will center around the early days of the space smuggler.

Plot details have been scarce but we know it will focus on Han Solo’s adventures before he joined the Rebel Alliance In Episode 4.  With the announcements of Star Wars Celebration touching down in Orlando in 2017 and the D23 Expo also returning in 2017, I will expecting a lot more info to be released around then concerning the the new film.

The untitled spinoff is being directed by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller and is slated to hit theaters May 25, 2018.

As of this writing there are less than thirty minutes left of May 4th, the official/unofficial “Star Wars Day” because it’s fun to make puns that sound like a speech impediment. But here on Geekscape, every day is Star Wars Day.

With that in mind, a hero who goes by the name deimosdoestube on YouTube created this excellent mash-up trailer of the CW superhero series The Flash with the final trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Some of it looks hilarious awkward, like making Tom Cavanagh’s Harrison Wells talk like Harrison Ford’s Han Solo, but for the most part it still works thanks to clever editing and timely music cues. The sweeping John Williams score fits almost too perfectly for The Flash that I kinda wish Williams actually scored the show. Then again, it’d be nice if Williams scored everything.

The video, titled The Flash: The Speedforce Awakens which is totally cute, was uploaded a whole two weeks ago, but perhaps due to the flurry of Star Was Day coverage it’s only now making the rounds. Side note: While deimosdoestube skips over it, remember that Star Wars actor Mark Hamill has been on The Flash, both the current show and the campy 1990 abomination, as the super-villain Trickster.

I’ve ceased becoming impressed with mash-up trailers and The Force Awakens offered no shortage of bad ones, but this one was pretty aces. Way to go, internet. You’ve surprised me again.

EDIT: Just came across this too, which is several weeks older but no less relevant. An artist by the name Bosslogic made this The Flash poster in the exact style of The Force Awakens. Maybe Barry should use his Speed Force to visit a galaxy far, far away?

Briefly: What a great way to celebrate the holiday.

Everyone loves Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, and our very own Shane O’Hare is the one person that liked The Force Unleashed II, and Microsoft today revealed that both titles are now backwards compatible with Xbox One!

The first title was an absolute blast, and I cannot wait to one day have an opportunity to play it again. If you missed the games the first time around (all those years ago), you’ll want to jump on them right away, as they typically cost $19.99 a piece, and are currently just $4.99 each.

Excited? How did you spend your Star Wars day? Sound out below!

Back in August at D23, our very own Eric Fransisco wrote a short article proclaiming “we all want a darker Star Wars“. Based from the new Star Wars: Rogue One trailer released this morning, director Gareth Edwards is giving all of us exactly that.

The trailer, which debuted today on Good Morning America, follows the exploits of  a band of Rebels who are tasked with what can only be described as a suicide mission: retrieve the plans for the Empire’s mega weapon–The Death Star. The film is scheduled for a December 2016 release date, but no specific day has been announced as of this writing.

Nothing will be spoiled for you here, so click the play button and enjoy, but afterwards, be sure to share in the conversation in the comments below where we will break down and discuss any Easter eggs or points of interest your fellow Geekscapists find.

Kotobukiya’s booth at this year’s WonderCon was swarmed with fans taking pictures but that is to be expected. Cons are when Kotobukiya showcases prototypes of upcoming items along with announcements of figures in development. And this time was no different.

The Bride concept art - Kotobukiya

First is the next entry in Kotobukiya’s Bishoujo figure line, Kill Bill‘s The Bride. This figure is so new, they didn’t even have a prototype yet. Instead, they displayed its concept art.

Lucky Chloe - Kotobukiya

Also part of their Bishoujo line was Lucky Chloe from Tekken Tag Tournament. This figure is currently available for pre-order online. It is scheduled to release in August.

Spartan Athlon - Kotobukiya

From the ArtFX+ line is Halo‘s Spartan Athlon. You can pre-order this figure online with an expected May release.

warrior drone - Kotobukiya

The Alien Warrior Drone ArtFX+ was more than a little unsettling. It ships in April but you can still pre-order it here. Note: the tiny Alien dudes aren’t part of the package.

Kylo Ren prototype - Kotobukiya

An item that garnered a lot of attention was the prototype of the upcoming Kylo Ren ArtFX+ figure. It is always neat to see this portion of the design process. The finished product is available to pre-order online with an expected July release.

C3PO R2D2 BB8 - Kotobukiya

Building on the popularity of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Kotobukiya will also be releasing a set of ArtFX+ figures starring C-3PO, R2-D2, and BB-8. This item, while still listed on Kotobukiya’s online store, is currently sold out.

Captain Phasma and Storm Troopers - Kotobukiya

Positioned beside the Kylo Ren prototype were the Captain Phasma and First Order Stormtrooper ArtFX+ figures. I thought it was a nice touch that you could choose between a single First Order Stormtrooper or a two-pack.

And thus ends my list of highlights from Kotobukiya’s booth. Did I miss something? Let me know in the comments!

During Disney’s first Disney Infinity NEXT presentation, the official news came to no surprise to most of us, since the new Marvel and Baloo figures were leaked last month. Despite the excitement of the reveal, (or disappointment over being spoiled,) the most newsworthy news was hinted at towards the closing moments of the video.

Alluding to us taking a trip to the sea and walking “through the looking glass,” this could only mean that Finding Dory and Alice in Wonderland will be making their Toys To Life debut sometime this year. Why Finding Dory and not The Little MermaidAtlantis, or any other Disney property that takes us underwater? Earlier in the presentation, it was confirmed that 2016 will get one Pixar, Disney, Marvel AND Star Wars expansion, hinting at the possibility that 3.0 will be further built on rather than releasing a 4.0. Since Alice is getting a movie later this year and was clearly teased, that leaves Finding Dory as our best bet.

But what’s even more exciting is the confirmation of more Star Wars content. While it likely will be based around this year’s Rogue One, I would love Rebels to get the full campaign treatment after releasing so many figures inspired by the animated series.

What do you want to see when it comes to the future of Disney Infinity? Sound off in the comments, and check out all the new figures in action for yourself in the presentation below!

After raking in over 2 billion dollars world wide, Star Wars: The Force Awakens will be available on Digital HD and Disney Movies Anywhere on April 1, and comes home to Blu-ray/DVD on April 5. According to StarWars.com, the Blu-ray/DVD set will include  a number of extras including deleted scenes, table read sessions, a behind the scenes look on the design and construction of BB-8, a feature on John Williams, and a slew of other specials highlighting the creatures, fight sequences, and special effects from the film.

Additionally, a number of major retailers will offer exclusive editions, but what will they come with and how much will they go for? Fear not, because we are here to break down all four exclusive editions from Best Buy, Disney Store, Target and Walmart in order to find the best one for you. Let’s get started!

Best Buy

It makes perfect sense that the store which specializes in high-quality television sets offer an exclusive set from one of the most visually stunning films from last year, but their incentives may leave many feeling underwhelmed. Best Buy will be the only place where fans can get the film in an exclusive SteelBook packaging featuring Kylo Ren, Captain Phasma, and the gorgeous shot of the Millenium Falcon and the First Order TIE Fighters flying over the sand dunes of Jakku.

forceawakens-bluray-combo-bestbuy-1024x427

At $29.99, this exclusive is the priciest of the bunch. There are lower priced options from other retailers, but if the SteelBook packaging is to your liking, it is available to preorder here.

Target

Target’s exclusive is the only version of Star Wars: The Force Awakens to contain on-disc content not available from any other retailer. Aside from their exclusive box art featuring Kylo Ren, Rey, BB-8, Finn, Han Solo, and General Organa, the Blu-ray/DVD/Digital set also contains over 20 minutes of bonus content featuring interviews with Daisy Ridley and John Boyega and a feature on the film’s weapons and costumes (take note, cosplayers!). It is also $5 less than Best Buy’s offering.

Target’s exclusive Star Wars: The Force Awakens set is the only collection featuring the bonus interviews and weapon/costume featurette.

This set is currently listed at $24.99 and is available for preorder here.

Walmart

Fans came away loving BB-8, and Walmart’s exclusive clearly has those fans in mind when it comes to the lovable droid.  This particular edition has two great things going for it. At $19.96, the Walmart exclusive is currently the best priced option among all retailers. Secondly, I mean–just look at the box art! BB-8, in all his glory, graces the cover of the Blu-ray/DVD set. There are no other bonuses in terms of lithographs, on-disc content, or SteelBook casing, but at such a low price and everyone’s favorite new droid featured on the cover, Walmart’s exclusive may be the one fans may go after first.forceawakens-bluray-combo-walmart-768x913

The set is currently priced at $19.96 and is available for preorder here.

Disney Store

For those who want more physical bonuses with their Star Wars: The Force Awakens set, the Disney Store offers a great incentive. Those who preorder will get four limited edition lithographs featuring Rey and BB-8, Kylo Ren, Han Solo and Chewbacca, and the gorgeous Apocalypse Now-inspired First Order TIE Fighter shot. Not only that, but the Disney Store is throwing in a $10 off coupon on a future purchase of $40 or more.

At $24.99, it is a difficult deal to pass up. Those wanting to preorder can do so here.

I am opting for the Disney Store exclusive, due in part for the lithographs; they are going to look great hanging in my classroom and possibly earn me some geek cred among my students. What set will you be picking up? Sound off in the comments below and check out the lithograph set offered from the Disney Store.

Briefly: Rian Johnson’s Star Wars: Episode VIII is now filming.

Disney revealed the news today, noting new cast members, and showing off a quick teaser that features Rey and Luke together once again (right where we left them). It certainly had me reminiscing about The Force Awakens, and had me wondering if I should be headed to one last IMAX showing before the film leaves theatres.

The company also revealed that Academy Award winner Benicio Del Toro, Academy Award nominee Laura Dern, and newcomer Kelly Marie Tran have joined the project.

As a huge fan of Johnson’s Brick and Looper, I could not be more excited for Star Wars: Episode VIII. Hell, after simply watching The Force Awakens, I could not be more excited for Episode VIII. Take a look at the teaser and full announcement below, and let us know who you’d like to see the new talent portray!

Star Wars: Episode VIII hits theatres on December 15th, 2017 (because of that delay, remember)!

Rey took her first steps into a larger world in Star Wars: The Force Awakens and will continue her epic journey with Finn, Poe, and Luke Skywalker in the next chapter of the continuing Star Wars saga, Star Wars: Episode VIII, which began principal photography at Pinewood Studios in London on February 15, 2016.

Star Wars: Episode VIII, which is written and directed by Rian Johnson and continues the storylines introduced in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, welcomes back cast members Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Adam Driver, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong’o, Domhnall Gleeson, Anthony Daniels, Gwendoline Christie, and Andy Serkis.  New cast members will include Academy Award winner Benicio Del Toro, Academy Award nominee Laura Dern, and talented newcomer Kelly Marie Tran.

Star Wars: Episode VIII is produced by Kathleen Kennedy and Ram Bergman and executive produced by J.J. Abrams, Jason McGatlin, and Tom Karnowski. Joining the production crew will be some of the industry’s top talent, including Steve Yedlin (Director of Photography), Bob Ducsay (Editor), Rick Heinrichs (Production Designer), Peter Swords King (Hair and Make-Up Designer), and Mary Vernieu (US Casting Director). They will be joining returning crew members Pippa Anderson (Co-Producer, VP Post Production), Neal Scanlan (Creature & Droid FX Creative Supervisor), Michael Kaplan (Costume Designer), Jamie Wilkinson (Prop Master), Chris Corbould (SFX Supervisor), Rob Inch (Stunt Coordinator), Ben Morris (VFX Supervisor), and Nina Gold (UK Casting Director).

Star Wars: Episode VIII is scheduled for release December 15, 2017

This week on Monday Music we have a nice treat for all the geeks out there. Disney has teamed up with record producer Rick Rubin to create a Star Wars inspired compilation album, and what we have seen so far is outstanding.

Head Space features a trove of well known electronic music producers. Most of you will recognize artists like Flying Lotus and Röyksopp right off the bat, but I can tell you that the entire group of people involved are some of the best. Head Space get’s inspiration and elements from all of the Star Wars films. C-3PO’s Plights features samples of the droid lamenting existence, as well as blaster shots from the movies. Baauer’s Cantina Boys gets really dirty with some classic samples you will immediately recognize.

What is very interesting to note is the Rick Rubin/A-Trak Re-Work of the song Jabba Flow from The Force Awakens. The original artist, Shag Kava, is actually J.J. Abrams and Lin-Manuel Miranda!

You will not be disappointed with this release. Check out the track list below.

1. C-3P0’s Plight – Kaskade

2. Help Me! – GTA

3. Force – TroyBoi

4. Cantina Boys – Baauer

Briefly: Battlefront fans, you must be aching for some new content at this point. EA today revealed that the next wave of content is coming, and is coming fast.

In fact, here’s a rundown on the free content that’s coming for all players tomorrow, straight from the DICE blog:

The Tatooine Survival map will now support the Blast, Droid Run, Drop Zone, Hero Hunt, and Heroes vs Villains multiplayer modes, and is called Raider Camp.

New Hoth-themed outfits for Luke Skywalker and Han Solo, both of which will be available to all fans when they play as these two iconic characters on Hoth – these were unlocked by our players for completing our Heroes’ Holiday community mission last month.

We are giving players the ability to create Private Matches, which makes playing with friends even easier.

The introduction of Daily Challenges and Community Events. These are designed to rally the Community around certain goals and objectives, giving players the chance to earn credits and unlocks even faster. We’ll have more news regarding Community Events and Daily Challenges in the days ahead.

And of course, we are also including some overall balancing tweaks to both weapons and multiplayer modes.

Another update in February will add a new ‘Survival mission on Hoth, and a brand-new Hoth multiplayer map that will support larger game modes including Walker Assault, Supremacy, Fighter Squadron and Turning Point. The Turning Point mode itself will expand to ‘all maps that currently support Walker Assault and Supremacy’ in this update as well.

DICE went on to finally give us some of the first details for the game’s upcoming expansion packs, with the official name of each pack, as well as what can be expected upon release. Obviously, that Death Star pack is the most exciting:

Star Wars™ Battlefront™ Outer Rim (March 2016) – Fight among the factories of Sullust and battle within Jabba the Hutt’s palace on Tatooine

Star Wars™ Battlefront™ Bespin (Summer 2016) – It’s hunt or be hunted in this action-packed experience set in the Cloud City of Bespin

Star Wars™ Battlefront™ Death Star (Fall 2016) – That’s no moon! One of the most iconic locations in the Star Wars universe makes its debut in Star Wars Battlefront.

Star Wars™ Battlefront™ Expansion Pack 4 – Title TBA (Early 2017) – We will have more details to share about this exciting new expansion pack in the coming months.

I decided not to continue my tour of Star Wars Battlefront after exhausting my EA Access trial, but these updates sound like pretty substantial updates to a title that could really use more content.

Are you still playing Battlefront? Are you excited for the upcoming DLC? Sound out below!

Bo Jackson, Ilya Kovalchuk, Barry Sanders, Michael Jordan. Donnie Yen.

The first four men were some of the greatest athletes to leave at the top of their game. The last man, Donnie Yen, isn’t an athlete nor is he quite retiring, but stands at the precipice of a new era in his career — one that commands the death of an old one. At 52 years old, Yen is the premiere action icon of Hong Kong but will step into international stardom as he enters a galaxy far, far away in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story this December.

Ip Man 3, the final chapter in Wilson Yip’s sweeping Ip Man saga, is also Donnie Yen’s final foray into martial arts epics. His move is akin to Jet Li, who left sweeping, choreography-intensive period epics after 2006’s Fearless and continued his career in more pop and commercial fares. Not that Ip Man 3 is any less of a popular or marketable product; premiering Christmas Eve in Hong Kong and January 22 in the U.S., the film has grossed some $116 million worldwide.

During the U.S. press tour for Ip Man 3, I spent some time with Donnie Yen to talk about the finality of this era in his career and the beginning of what’s to come.

Donnie Yen as Ip Man in ‘Ip Man 3’ from Well GO USA

This is your third outing as the legendary Wing Chun grandmaster Ip Man. What did you do differently to prepare for the role this time, that you didn’t do in Ip Man or Ip Man 2?

Yen: I think the preparation was done eight years ago when I first took on the role, because I didn’t know whether I could really create an important character such as this one. But the first one obviously became very very successful, and then I know that I can act many other different ways. I have to kind of maintain the same characteristic as the very first one.

So for me, the challenge wasn’t so much of the character. I felt really good about entering the third installment, and back in Asia, I used to tell all the reporters, the pressure was on Wilson Yip, the director.

What have you learned about yourself from playing Ip Man these last few years? What have you discovered taking on such a huge role that means so much to so many?

Yen: I think when a person, when an actor plays a role, he’s representing a good part of himself. That’s why the same role played by different actors will have different results, so therefore when you’re watching [my] Ip Man you’re watching the maturity of Donnie Yen. The first installment to the third installment you see the maturity level, and you can see that complexity, that growth from the film.

The big show stopper of Ip Man 3 is your fight with Mike Tyson. What was it like shooting with Tyson? How did that scene come together?

Yen: We spent a lot of time. That’s the culture over there, we spent a lot of time perfecting every shot. We spent three weeks. Compared to my very very first martial arts film, 33 years ago, when I spent a whole month shooting a scene, three weeks is still nothing. A long time right? But it was a pleasant experience for me.

I’m a big fan of his boxing, I’ve watched every single one of his fights, and I know that fighting on screen there’s an opportunity to create one of the best fight scenes in film history. So I was very excited, but at the same time, I know what kind of fight that I’ll be getting into. I want to leave the set safely and go back home. Mike is a wonderful guy, and very good to work with, and very professional about it, and we had a great experience.

Notorious heavyweight Mike Tyson and Donnie Yen trade fists in 'Ip Man 3.'
Notorious heavyweight Mike Tyson and Donnie Yen trade fists in ‘Ip Man 3.’

You mentioned working on your first film just now. Ip Man 3 is probably your final martial arts film. Do you think it’s really the last time?

Yen: I’ve been in the film industry for 33 years, stared in 68 movies, made numerous type of screen heroes, so for me to play another kung fu movie… I don’t know If I can ever play another kung fu hero, that same type of character, that can compare to a character like Ip Man. That’s why at the time I gave some interviews saying that [about] Ip Man 3. But then there could be a Ip Man 4, so never say never.

Do you personally hope there to be an Ip Man 4?

Yen: The director approached me already because apparently we’ve broken all the records in Asia, and it’s supply and demand. If the fans love it, why not. I’m feeling good about my physical shape.

So doing sweeping kung-fu epics isn’t about the overall wear and tear on your body.

Yen: It’s not like you’re fighting in the ring, where you have to be young, and you basically excel in those three minutes. How you make fighting is a good part of acting. The more mature you are the better the actor you are.

You just brought up that Ip Man 3 is breaking records in Asia, but you’re about to break in the U.S. and abroad very soon. We’ll see you in Star Wars soon! How’s that going?

Yen: The movie is going to be a great film… and that’s all I can say. [laughs] I’m flattered, and excited, I’m the first Chinese actor ever to be invited to be part of this whole Star Wars universe. That’s great, to bring my children to the premiere.

What’s the most memorable memory you have from making Ip Man the last couple years?

Yen: Like I said, I’ve been in this for so long, and I’ve made many [movies]. I believe [Ip Man] influenced the action industry everywhere in the world. I still believe in that. Eight years ago when it first opened it actually changed the game, and it gave me a great opportunity to choose my roles as an actor, and I’m very grateful.

So after Ip Man 2 I kind of took a step back away from the character and explored the possibilities as an actor. The last five years, and I’ve probably did about fifteen movies in the past, I don’t know how many movies in the last five years, you know from playing Grandmaster to comedies, Monkey King and undercover cops, you name it. As an actor, I don’t take anything for granted. I scored a wide range of different characters, so at the end to say that I have to come back, it’s to this role, this is my iconic role.

Do you feel any pressure from being “the” guy that could bridge Hong Kong and Hollywood cinema?

Yen: Let me give you… I’ll share this very true experience with you. I’ve also shot Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon 2, right? So, I was in this event in China and I was eating pizza with Leonardo DiCaprio, a star with different couple of big boys sitting on the table, and Harvey Weinstein came up to me — Harvey Weinstein bought the rights for Crouching Tiger, and he said, “Donnie, you’re going to be in Crouching Tiger 2, this is such a great move for you, you’re breaking Hollywood…” I told Harvey, I really appreciate the opportunities, I’m really flattered, but this is not what I want next year in my life. I’ve been in the business for 33 years, you know, if anything is going to give me satisfaction, it’s not about where or which industry that I’m going to be in. It’s the subject of the film that’s going to bring the satisfaction to me. Any films that can convey the message of positivity to society, I’m in.

Ip Man 3 is out now in theaters.

Briefly: No!

We’re all still feeling an intense bout of Star Wars fever, and while we’re beyond excited for this year’s Star War Rogue One we’ll be waiting just a little longer for the next chapter in the saga’s main series.

The Rian Johnson directed Star Wars: Episode VIII was originally slated for May 26th, 2017, but will now hit theatres on December 15th, 2017.

Interestingly enough, this puts the release just 10 days before James Cameron’s Avatar sequel.

Here’s the official announcement from Disney:

Today, Disney and Lucasfilm announced that Star Wars: Episode VIII, originally scheduled for release in summer 2017, will now debut on December 15, 2017.

The move follows the extraordinary success of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, which was the first Star Wars movie to premiere outside the traditional summer blockbuster window and smashed numerous records, including biggest domestic and global debuts of all time as well as the biggest domestic second and third weekends, en route to becoming the highest grossing domestic release of all time with over $861.3 million and the third biggest global release ever with $1,886.7 billion.

Written and directed by Rian Johnson, Star Wars: Episode VIII is currently in preproduction and will begin principal photography in London next month. Kathleen Kennedy and Ram Bergman will produce and J.J. Abrams, Jason McGatlin, and Tom Karnowski will executive produce. Stay tuned for exciting updates in the coming weeks.

What do you hope to see in Episode VIII?

headerStarWarsJPNtrailer

I’ll be honest. When Star Wars Rebels debuted, it bugged me more than it should have. After all, The Clone Wars being abruptly cancelled before its story could resolve left a ton of loose ends untied, creating various inconsistencies with what we were told in the movies. Adding more potential Jedi and Sith between episodes III and IV that we never heard about for some reason, on top of everything left over from the first animated series, could only serve to make this mess even more convoluted.

The latest trailer for the second half of season two has changed my mind. With the promise of tying Rebels to the original series as a bridge between the prequels, the original films, and even The Force Awakens, things are getting exciting for Ezra, Kanan, and the rest of the crew as they struggle against the newly formed Empire. With the Dark Side pulling towards the young Jedi in training, meetings with Leia, Yoda, a being known as the Old Master, (who shares a resemblance with the still unaccounted for Darth Maul,) and even a crossguard Lightsaber resembling Kylo Ren’s, and I’m finding myself getting insanely excited for the return of the show.

But what really gave me chills was seeing Asohka come face to face with her former master, dueling against him after so many years have passed since she left the Jedi Order in the middle of the Clone Wars. Since her character was introduced, knowing that there was never a mention of Anakin’s padawan or any living Jedi outside of Obi Wan and Yoda after Episode III, and it became a matter of time as to when she would eventually be killed. As she squares off with Vader, will it be time to say goodbye to Asohka?

Watch the trailer for yourself and let us know what catches your eye. Will you be glued to your TV screen when Star Wars Rebels wraps up its second season? Sound off below!
