Fucking Nintendo, how does it work? Remarkably well. It looks like they really are listening to the hardcore and will deliver a solid new console. Check out the newest trailer for the survival horror launch title ZombiU. It looks, pretty damn fun!

You can get your hands on a WiiU as well as ZombiU November 18th!

In an attempt to prep our bodies for the greatness that GTA V will be, Rockstar Games is releasing an epic collection of games.

November 6th gamers can pick up Rockstar Games Collection Edition 1 for the tiny fee of $59.99. This mega pack includes:

  • Red Dead Redemption
  • GTA IV: Episodes from Liberty City. Which is two complete games in one.
  • L.A. Noire (my Game of the year 2011)
  • Midnight Club LA Complete Edition

This is an amazing deal for gamers. I haven’t played three of these and picking them all up for the price of one (1) new game is pretty rad.

Check your local game shoppe on November 6th. RGCE1 will be on both Xbox 360 and PS3

So I guess my boy Skrill has finally made it. The EDM and bass junkie producer, Skrillex, has teamed up with Disney to produce a track for the game “Heroes Duty” which the protagonist Ralph ends up in. Take a quick listen below.

Now not only will the electronic producer be lending his musical talent to the film, he is also sharing his likeness. That’s right, Skrillex will in fact make a cameo appearance in Wreck It Ralph during a party scene. The Film’s producer, Clark Spencer, said in a recent interview with Rolling Stones that they recreated Skrillex’s likeness and inserted him as a DJ in the film. There is also a rumor going around he lent his voice to the flick as well.

It appears Disney kind of has a thing for EDM artists. With Daft Punk being in Tron, now Skrillex in Wreck It Ralph, what will they do next? Can we see LCD Soundsystem in the Fantasia remake?

That’s right baby! The chocolate-peanutbutter combination of Limbo and Shadow Complex, Deadlight, is coming to the PC at the end of October! We can only speculate that it will be released on STEAM, but I would be surprised if it wasn’t.

Not much else to say so why don’t you check out their official website and watch the fabulous trailer below!

You read that right. The lead designer for the Unreal series, Gears Of War and creator of Jazz Jackrabbit (one of my favorite games) is leaving Epic games to “further” his career. From the official release:

Today we are saying farewell with warm regards to Cliff Bleszinski, who is departing as Epic’s design director to chart the next stage of his career. During the past two decades, Cliff has helped shape many successful games that have captured the imaginations of millions of players around the world. We are grateful for his influence on Epic’s legacy, from the wild adventures “Jazz Jackrabbit” to the visceral combat of “Gears of War.”

And from the man himself:

I’ve been doing this since I was a teenager, and outside of my sabbatical last year, I have been going non-stop. I literally grew up in this business, as Mike likes to say. And now that I’m grown up, it’s time for a much needed break.

I will miss the projects, the playtests, the debates, and most importantly, the people. Epic only hires the best of the best, and it has been a joy working with each and every one of you on a daily basis, whether you were hired weeks ago or decades ago. I have been fortunate enough to collaborate with a variety of disciplines, from code to art to marketing and PR – it’s been one big, rewarding learning experience. I’m confident that each project that is being built, whether at Epic, Chair, PCF, or Impossible will be top notch and will please gamers and critics alike.

So what does this mean for gamers? Will the Gears series not feature the same giant roided out heroes like we are used to? Will Rob Liefeld be hired in his place? What, comic jokes in my video game news? Who knows. This gamer is both saddened and happy. I have never been disappointed with a Cliffy B game, especially the ones released through Epic. Cliffy B and Epic was the perfect example of a chocolate peanut-butter situation. They worked together perfectly.

If you want to wish him good luck on his adventures you can hit up his Twitter @therealcliffyb or head  on over to  the Epic Forums where they have setup a good bye wall.

The Master Chief train is going strong. We just told you about The Mantis now we got some more news for you.

The guys over at IGN got to sit down with 343 Industries Lead Multiplayer Designer and play through the newest mode for Halo, Flood Mode. Think the classic “Infection Mode” just beefed up a lot. And in glorious Halo 4 graphics! Check it out below!

Prepare for the flood November 6th!

A new trailer for the next game to come out of Crytek has surfaced, and it isn’t another Crysis. Warface is a “Social FPS”, that looks DAMN good. This ain’t no Facebook game. Lets watch the trailer and delve deeper.

You get all that? In a nutshell Warface is a Free to Play “Social FPS”. The cool part is it’s delivery method. Crytek have their own social network called Gface which this game will be released through. It is a browser based game platform that allows players to drop in and drop out on the fly in any of their games.

Warface is using the CryEngine 3 which means it will be scalable over pretty much any modern PC. So what can you expect from Warface in terms of gameplay? Well not much has been released but what they have said is pretty intriguing. There will be monthly PVE “coop” events where players can team up and go against the AI. There will also be classic PVP matches where teams can duke it out deathmatch style.

So, you’re asking what the gameplay looks like? Well take a gander at this other trailer that features in game footage!

It looks so rad! It’s like Rainbow 6, Battlefield and CoD had a love baby and Crysis was the surrogate. Prices for the game itself haven’t been released, if there is any, and the inevitable premium portions have not been hinted at all yet.

So when we get more information for you on this epic looking browsers based game, we will be sure to keep you up to date!

Atlus just popped a stiff trailer for the US release of the hyper stylized hack and slasher for the 3DS, and after watching it I got stiff too. Watch and be stiff with me.

It actually looks…really fun! Code of Princess comes October 9th! More info on the game can be found at the official website HERE. While you’re preordering the game you can get an accurate statue of the lead character!

Sadly this is Japan only…I can still dream though, can’t I?

November 13th is rapidly approaching and the folks over at Treyarch have just let loose the info on the included Zombies minigame that comes included with Call Of Duty: Black Ops 2, and it is a HUGE minigame. Take a look at the trailer below.

Besides that rad as hell trailer we got a stack of info. The newest incarnation of Zombies is bigger and better than ever. We get a semi-open world environment where players get to explore it on their own accord. Players are given a bus and a roadmap of survival, and get to go about it in their own way. I am very pumped for this!

Call Of Duty: Black Ops II ships November 18th on XBOX, PS3 and PC. November 18th for WiiU.

Weird news we get waking up this morning. Two classic games that were seemingly dead, had gigantic patches released on a French gaming forum today. Released mysteriously these two patches have some very interesting story behind them.

Thief 2 and System Shock 2 were developed by Looking Glass Studios who went out of business in May 24th of 2000. These titles were some of the last released by the company. They fell into cult classic status many years later and are still highly regarded as two great games, be it buggy ones. So you can imagine the shock to my system (joke.jpg) when I read on a Looking Glass Studios fan forum that someone found a series of mysterious patches released on a French message board that updates Thief 2 and System Shock 2 to utilized modern hardware!

These patches fix some monumental bugs. Some that could have only been fixed by having the original source code. This leads me to believe that a dedicated Looking Glass Studios developer has been slogging away for years, trying to fix his games. Like a deranged mad scientist. There were partial code leaks in 2010 but due to legal reasons the full code could not have been released. So if this wasn’t a long lost dev then whoever did this is some reverse engineering genius and needs to be hired by the FSB  or CIA has a cyber warrior.

Lets take a look at what was issued with the Thief fixes.

This is an unofficial patch for Thief II: The Metal Age (T2) which updates the game from v1.18 to
v1.19, providing improved support for modern hardware and correcting many known bugs. T2 can be
purchased digitally from GOG (www.gog.com) and Steam (store.steampowered.com). If you prefer a
boxed copy, it can usually be found on Mastertronic and Amazon (or similar).

So TL;DR of these is this. Thief 2 can now be played on modern systems and use the full capabilities of modern hardware.

So now you ask, “Where can I get these games?” Thief 2 can be bought on GoG.com full DRM free for $10 US. System Shock 2 well…that is a sad story. When Looking Glass closed due to financial issues with Eidos, Star Insurance company got a hold of the rights to System Shock 1 and 2. They are currently sitting on the rights and refuse to do anything with them. This is some of the reasons why there wasn’t a System Shock 3 and we got Bioshock instead.

So check out the Looking Glass Fan Forum to get the links to the patches and even demos of the new systems incorporated!

This weekend you can find me playing Thief 2 while a nice little torrent of System Shock 2 runs in the back round.

THAT’S RIGHT! The crazy cool game that came flying out of left field gets a nice bloody trailer, AND A RELEASE DATE! Take a peak below.

If you want more info on this fun as hell looking game, check out their official website HERE , which is where you can preorder the game which comes out October 16th!

We recently talked about the threat of legal intervention by German consumer advocacy group, VZBZ, in regards to Valve’s new EULA for their online service Steam. The deadline for them to reconsider and change their EULA WAS tomorrow. Now VZBZ have just released a statement regarding this date.

Valve has a new deadline (10.10.2012) to respond to our letter now. Maybe after this time we will resolve the dispute in the court.

Whoa. Things just got steamy for Valve. After basically ignoring the request to adjust their agreement with users in order to comply with EU law, which states all software must be able to be resold EVEN online purchased games, the consumer advocacy group is ready to bring them to court.

Lets see what happens to Valve and Steam, from what it appears the Good Guy in the market may turn into a Not So Good Guy and end up in EU court.

We got some fresh Campaign footage of Halo 4. Check out a bit from the levels Dawn and Forerunner below.

I am really impressed with the atmospheric level they are bringing this time around. Everything looks much more REAL, everything appears to actually exist. I am very impressed.

Halo 4 ships November 4th.

Looks like the Coen Brothers have done it again. Their remake of 1966 classic appears to be a faithful reproduction. Directed by Michael Hoffman, the film stars Alan Rickman, Colin Firth, Cameron Diaz, Stanley Tucci, and hits theaters October 12th. Watch the new trailer with me, below.

I am typing this after jumping around office doing my happy dance. My coworker across the hall thinks I am crazier for it, but I am not ashamed, for Pure Pwnage IS COMING BACK! AS A MOVIE! Take a look at their announcement video below.

OH MY GOD! What else is there to say? If you were a gamer and alive in the early 2000’s then you know who Pure Pwnage is. Even if you don’t, you at least know who FPSDoug is. “Everyone knows you run faster with a knife!” is a quote that echos through time, and to see the gang back together again is amazing.

So if you want to help the guys check out their IndieGoGo Page and DONATE! “Leik right now or I’m leik toly gon hafta pwn you…noob”.

The greatest super hero of all time is celebrating 50 years of being on film. With the incredible Blu-Ray Collection coming out on Tuesday the 25th, MGM and AMC are teaming up to give us a special treat on the day before.

Monday September 24th, 50 select AMC theaters across the country will be showing a special screening of the first James Bond film “Dr. NO”. From the press release:

In celebration of the 50th anniversary of the James Bond film franchise, AMC Theatres, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios and Park Circus are bringing the original James Bond film, DR. NO, to 50 theaters nationwide on Monday, September 24 at 7PM. Tickets for the event are just $7.

You read that? $7! SEVEN US DOLLARS! For the price of a Venti Java Chip Frappuccino you can see one of the BEST Bond films, IN A THEATER! Not only that, you get a little extra for showing your devotion to Bond. All attendees of the screening will get a special limited edition 50 years of James Bond print. I’m guessing they will be the same ones they had at Comic Con, and those were pretty cool. Additionally each theater will be giving away one copy of the ENTIRE collection of Bond films on Blu-Ray! That is the most $7 has gotten anyone EVER!

Fore info and to find a theater showing it, check out the AMC PAGE HERE.

I am severely pissed that I live in Alaska, as they are not doing the screening up here! Probably the only chance I could ever see my all time favorite James Bond film in theaters and I get screwed by geography. So all you people in America, don’t waste this opportunity!

Dr. No hits theaters September 24th. Bond 50 Year Collection hit stores September 25th and Skyfall is out November 9th.

After Valve’s recent change of their EULA in August, one that made class action lawsuits against them breaking your user agreement with them  and thus forfeiture of your account, the gaming community was upset but really only for a weekend. When a similar thing happened with Blizzard over their Diablo III “always on” fiasco, people were up in arms and protested the MMO giant, but why not Valve? We’ll get back to that later.

The German advocacy group VZBZ, the same one who brought Blizzard into European Union supreme court, is now on Valves case. Back in July they passed legislation that all software should be allowed to be resold by their owners. This includes digital sales (To read that ruling check it out HERE).

VZBZ have just announced they are giving Valve and Steam until September 26 to remove rescind their current EULA agreement with users or face the consequences, and litigation. We will see as that is only a few days away, I will keep you up to date as info is released.

Now back to the first part, why wasn’t Valve protested? My personal feelings are that the armchair protesters, the mountain dew activists that flipped out over Blizzard doing this, EA. The same people who blacked out their sites over SOPA and PIPA, are in too much love with Valve and Gabe Newell that they let this slide. This was the prime example of hypocrisy in our community. Valve has been a good guy Greg to every customer, doing refunds, exchanges etc. etc. Lets hope they do the right thing again, without the law interfering, and  they will do the same over here.

Ladies and gentlegeeks, today marks the day that the great Humble Indie Bundle 6 launches! The great donation drive goes into play right now! The guys over at RareMINION (a Rare Games fansite) have found 30 minutes of footage of a previously unreleased game starring Conker the squirrel. This was announced after they released Banjo-Kazooie and Diddy Kong Racing and they were receiving bad press that they only could make cutesy platformers with adorable animals. So this project was scrapped and redone into Conkers Bad Fur Day. They turned that into the deliciously hilarious M rated game we all know and love. Check out this footage below, and be amazed at how GOOD it looks for an alpha staged N64 game.

Let me preface this post by saying I am a huge James Bond fan. I believe James Bond is the greatest superhero of all time. And I will gladly defend that statement to the death! Anyway, back on point.

007 Legends is the retelling of classic James Bond films set in modern times with Daniel Craig reprising his role as Bond. In this brand new mission trailer for “Goldfinger” we get a nice little taste of what this games has to offer. Now I’ve been burnt in the past by Bond games, but the most recent one (Goldeneye 007) on the Xbox was great! It juts needed some more server support. This trailer gets me VERY excited for this game. Take a look!

007 Legends ships October 16th on Xbox and PS3. It’s WiiU release is TBA.

In an odd PR announcement, BioWare developer “Mark” let loose some little tid bits on the new Dragon Age game. After a lengthy autobiography. He specifically says they aren’t going to release much until they have something worth while to show, but he did include some nice bullet points.

The next game will be called Dragon Age III: Inquisition.

We won´t be talking about the story of the game today. Though you can make some guesses from the title. (Editor note: Is it the SPANISH Inquisition?)

This game is being made by a lot of the same team that has been working on Dragon Age since Dragon Age: Origins. It´s composed of both experienced BioWare veterans and talented new developers.

We are working on a new engine which we believe will allow us to deliver a more expansive world, better visuals, more reactivity to player choices, and more customization. At PAX East, we talked about armour and followers… Yeah, that kind of customisation. We´ve started with Frostbite 2 from DICE as a foundation to accomplish this.

That’s literally it. It is great news for fans of the series, especially the inclusion of DICE’s Frostbite 2 engine. That’s the one in Battlefield 3 and the upcoming Mirrors Edge 2.

To get a a read on the FULL press release head on over to their blog HERE. We will keep you up to date as more info is released.

During the promotional tour for his, then new film, “Everything You Always Wanted to Know About Sex* (*But Were Afraid to Ask)”, Woody Allen was interviewed on Grananda ITV in England. When asked to sum up his film in 25 seconds, he goes on a 40 minute round about question and answer session where he doesn’t answer anything really.

Tomorrow marks the day where gamers in North America can return to Pandora. Gearbox Software have just released this little launch trailer to get our excitement up! Take a look with me!

Borderlands 2 (or as a friend of mine once called it, Binderlords) launches tomorrow, the 18th on PC, Xbox 360 and PS3!

Enquaynay on YouTube has been working on this traditionally animated remake of a crucial cutscene in Portal 2, for some time now. Take a gander with me and be amazed at how AWESOME this is!

Make sure to check out Enquaynay on YouTube and her Tumblr!

You read that right. Brad Pitt is shopping around the film adaptation of the 2001 Novel “IBM and The Holocaust”. One of history’s greatest “SORRY EVERYONE! MY BAD” moments, IBM had made a deal with 1933 Nazi Germany helping them sort and analyze their census data. Which ultimately led them to know who and where the Jews were.

Sources over at Vulture say that the film has been in the works since last January and was originally going to be released on HBO. It has recently just left HBO and Brad Pitts Plan B Productions have been shopping it around with various TV networks but a feature film is most likely the final destination of this project. During the new shopping it has been reported that Pitt has recently put himself on as the star.

The first script written was by Marcus Hinchey who wrote and co produced All Good Things.

No other info has been released yet, but it will be very interesting to see where this project ends up.

Keiji Inafune is best known for being a producer on two of the biggest zombies franchises from Capcom. Resident Evil and Dead Rising. Well now that he has left and created his own company, Comcept, he plans on releasing his own zombie game.

Yaiba is his newest foray into the zombie genre, and what I can gather from the trailer (you can see that below) is it is a third person adventure platformer with a lot of blood involved. So take a look with us!

Nothing else has been announced. Platform and release date remain a mystery.

The Wii U is really making me excited. I was already sold on it because I am a Nintendo fanboy, but I was worried that it will face the same issues that Wii did. Limited graphics and very kid like games. Sure there were a few gems on the Wii, but it was primarily a kid console. Well the Wii U is changing that. Take a look at this trailer for Ninja Gaiden 3: Razors Edge!

Damn. Damn. Damn. Damn. Not only does the trailer start out with some nice robo titties and anime booty, but it goes right into the ultra violence.

NG:RE will feature the original Ninja Gaiden 3 game and all the DLC, plus a nice graphic improvement.

No official release date has been given, just a Q4 2012, but we can assume it is a launch title. At least I hope it is.

That’s right baby! The very much anticipated mod of the original Half-Life game, the mod that has been in development for years, gets a release date…TODAY!

If you’ve been living under a digital rock for the past few years let me bring you up to speed. Black Mesa is a total graphical update of the original Half-Life game. When the Half-Life: Source game came out a lot of people were disappointed. It didn’t provide that much of a graphical update and only really changed the physics slightly. Gamers wanted a full update like what we got with Day of Defeat and Counter Strike source. So in 2004 a group of modders got together and created the Source Overhaul group which then turned into the Black Mesa project. What followed was years of Development hell and Vaporware. Pics would come out but we were never graced with a total Source conversion of Half-Life.

Then earlier this year the group said they were done. Very nonchalantly. Just “Hey guys, Black Mesa is done. It will be out this year.”. Then when Valve announced their Greenlight project Black Mesa was one of the first ones submitted and accepted.

Just as nonchalantly as they said they were done they released the mod! So check out the official site HERE. Check out the Steam Greenlight page HERE. And watch the trailer below. Be amazed.
