I love Bob’s Burgers. I don’t know if it’s the puns, or the fact that I completely identify with Louise’s murderous rants and Tina’s awkward “uuuuuuuuuuhhhhhhhh”s, but the show has me firmly in its grasp.

So what better way to celebrate National Cheeseburger Day (September 18th) then by releasing a limited edition, Tina Funko Pop figurine exclusively available from BoxLunch. BoxLunch, a “cause-driven pop culture gift store”, is donating a meal to those in need for every $10 spent in their stores and online.

Tina’s Funko Pop will retail for $12.90, and for each one sold, BoxLunch will be donating 10 meals to Feeding America, from now until February 27, 2018.

Need more Bob’s Burgers merch? There are shirts, pins, backpacks, and homegoods available too! Click here to see the full line of Bob’s Burgers merchandise available!

I want this soap dispenser and I can’t figure out why.

Not a fan of the show? Why did you click this article? That’s fine though, BoxLunch has merchandise from many different fandoms that still go out to help the hungry in America, so go take a look and let us know what you find!

This Sunday I’m joining some of my friends at the Nerdist Theater to play some roleplaying games for a charity called Reach Out and Read! It’s a pretty cool event that I’ve played in before and we’ll be live streaming it on Twitch so you can watch live and you can be a part of it too!

Also, by donating to Reach Out and Read in my name, you’ll be helping my character IN GAME… and I’ll need all the help I can get! Please consider donating and supporting a great (and fun) cause:

CCD20

Here’s some more information on this amazing event! PLEASE send me some help!

A few short years ago, no one had heard of the do-gooders at CELEBRITY CHARID20 or their quest for REACH OUT AND READ. Thanks to the hard work of SATINE PHOENIX, MELTDOWN COMICS, KEITH BAKER and MATT MERCER, CCd20 became the flagship in charity tabletop gaming.

The first die was cast in 2010 the charity has raised over $15,000 dollars, with just a small group of friends in the NERDIST THEATER at Meltdown Comics. This year will be the biggest crew ever, expanding from those humble beginnings to include more tables and announce DM: RUTY RUTENBERG.

Keith Baker introduces his new system, PHOENIX: DAWN COMMAND, and Ruty helms a host of adventures in EBERRON, for the all-day celebrity Game-a-thon at MELTDOWN COMICS from 10am-8pm, streamed LIVE on TWITCH through CelebrityCharid20.com! Swing by & donate right on the website.

The popularity of wrestling has been on a constant upward trajectory ever since the late 90’s “Monday Night Wars” took a niche market and made it mainstream. So popular was the battle between WCW and WWF that indie wrestling exploded. Thanks to a small company called ECW, Philadelphia became a hot bed of underground wrestling.

Living in Philadelphia you have plenty of wrestling shows to attend; WWE, TNA and Ring of Honor make multiple stops throughout the year, we’re the home of House of Hardcore as well as CZW but no wrestling organization is more progressive or as exciting as Chikara.

This small Lucha inspired organization has regular shows in Philadelphia (as well as other places around the Globe) promoting not just a family friendly wrestling show, but also positivity. Chikara is about interactions, seeing underdogs succeed and being as progressive as possible, but it’s also about giving back to the community.

This February 6th will be National Pro Wrestling Day, a yearly event from Chikara where every dollar goes to a good cause. This year the organization is raising money for the Polaris Project. This is a free event held at The Goodwill Beneficial Association in Reading, PA.

Polaris Project is an organization that combats human trafficking, which sadly, impacts more than 20 million victims worldwide, every single day. To combat this crime, Polaris offers local, national, and global programs, serving both labor and sex trafficking victims, using a survivor-centered approach. Widely recognized as one of the most experienced, multi-dimensional, and knowledgeable entities in the anti-trafficking field, Polaris is working to ensure human trafficking networks are permanently disrupted while hope and justice are restored.

NPWD-2016

This year Chikara hopes to raise $2,400 to provide shelter and food for survivors of human trafficking. They will be taking donations at the event but if you don’t live anywhere near Reading you can donate online on their official donations page (live right now)

The show begins at 2pm on February 6th. If you live in the area please come out and support a great cause and some fun wrestling. For more information visit Chikara’s website or their National Pro Wrestling Day website.

In case you’ve been living under a rock for the last few years (OR aren’t really a gamer), let me tell you about one of the greatest charities around. Let me tell you about Extra Life.

Starting way back in 2008, The Sarcastic Gamer and its fans wanted to raise money for a local children’s hospital that a young girl named Victoria Enmon had been visiting for treatment of her acute lymphoblastic leukemia. The fans wanted to raise money in her memory and try to help out other ill children, so they came up with the idea of doing what gamers do best. Play games! So they all banded together, and had a 24-Hour gaming marathon. That year they raised $302,000 all of which went to the local hospital. The following year, participants in the first event wanted to find out a way that they could donate to their own local children’s hospitals so the Extra Life organization joined forces with The Childrens Miracle Network and the national Extra Life event was born!

Fast forward to 2014 and the 907Gamers, which was at the time a Facebook group with about 3,500 members. We joined in on the charity and started what would become our first gaming marathon. The first year, we set what was thought to be a lofty goal of $2,000. About 85 gamers all crammed into a warehouse and played games for a solid 24 hours. When things were all said and done, 907Gamers raised an amazing $11,518! All proceeds benefited the Providence Children’s Hospital in Anchorage.

This year they wanted to make the same goal, so they set it for $12,000. As of the writing of this article, they’ve already raised a staggering $39,754!

Now the national Extra Life event is Saturday, November 7th, beginning at 8 a.m. but due to scheduling, the 907Gamers are having theirs tomorrow! That’s right, Friday October 16th starting at 8 p.m.!

How you can get involved.

If you want to help out the 907Gamers you can donate to them directly HERE.

If you want to donate on my behalf, you can check out my Extra Life profile HERE. Now I won’t be gaming for the entire 24 hours, but if you catch our live stream you might see me up on the stage DJing!

Don’t want to help out the Alaskan Children? Want your donations to go more locally? Check out the official Extra Life page and find a local event or team in your area!

This is an amazing cause, and it’s stunning how generous how gamers can be. If you can’t donate, join a team and ask your friends and family to donate on your behalf!

In case you didn’t know, Oliver Queen himself, Stephen Amell, will be going toe to toe against Stardust, WWE’s resident Super Villian, at the company’s annual Summerslam event. While the Arrow actor confirmed that he will be wearing the new Arrow costume to the ring this Sunday’s he’s giving his fans a chance to wear something even better.

The “Amell vs. Stardust” shirt uses a design and vendor completely separate from the wrestling company, giving all of the proceeds to Emily’s House, a Toronto based hospice for children. This means that your $28 will go do a well designed shirt while your cash goes to a good cause. At the very least, it doesn’t have a stupid back design like most of the official merchandise!

The shirt is only available for a limited time, so make sure you get your order in at here. Are you tuning in to watch Arrow save the WWE? Be heard below!

Nerdist Industries has just launched the first chapter in a hilarious new webseries promoting this year’s Course of the Force. The six-part series follows Matt Mira, a man tasked with the nigh-impossible duty of recovering the stolen Course of the Force Lightsaber.

The series looks to be an absolute riot, but it’s also very important. The webseries exists to spread the word about Course of the Force, an amazing partnership between Lucasfilm, Nerdist Industries, and Octagon, that hosts an olympic-style lightsaber relay in the days leading up to San Diego Comic Con.

The 2013 Course of the Force event will take place from July 9th to 16th, and span the distance between Skywalker Ranch and SDCC. Anyone can participate in the event, and proceeds help support the incredible work of the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Registration to the event is $150, and includes a customized Hasbro lightsaber, a Course of the Force swag bag, and of course entry into the experience of a lifetime.

It sounds like everyone involved is doing some amazing work, and the 2013 Course of the Force relay is already well on its way to eclipsing last year’s impressive event. Watch the first chapter of the series below, and head here for more information on the relay. Even if you can’t make it, spread the word, these guys deserve it!

Does George Lucas need the $4 billion that he is getting from this Disney deal? Definitely not. Well, it seems that George Lucas is planning to donate the majority of the $4 billion sum that Disney are paying him for LucasFilm to good causes. A spokesperson told The Hollywood Reporter that:

“George Lucas has expressed his intention, in the event the deal closes, to donate the majority of the proceeds to his philanthropic endeavors.”

They didn’t have any details as far as where the money will end up, but the writer and director is well known for his substantial donations to causes such as the Film Foundation, Stand Up To Cancer and the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Lucas made the following statement this Wednesday:

“For 41 years, the majority of my time and money has been put into the company. As I start a new chapter in my life, it is gratifying that I have the opportunity to devote more time and resources to philanthropy.”
