Briefly: Eric Francisco is sqee-ing with excitement right now.

We were all pretty upset back in May when NBC revealed that they would definitely, for sure, not be renewing the celebrated (yet somehow unpopular) series for a second season. Then, there were heavy rumours that the series would transition to another network, but eventually, contracts expired and the final nail was in the coffin.

Except for Matt Ryan’s Constantine, apparently. In May, it was revealed that Matt would guest star on an episode of Arrow this season. That episode is next week, and the first trailer for the episode has just appeared online.

Take a look at the trailer below, and be sure to let us know just how much you’d love Constantine to come back for good!

In case you didn’t know, Oliver Queen himself, Stephen Amell, will be going toe to toe against Stardust, WWE’s resident Super Villian, at the company’s annual Summerslam event. While the Arrow actor confirmed that he will be wearing the new Arrow costume to the ring this Sunday’s he’s giving his fans a chance to wear something even better.

The “Amell vs. Stardust” shirt uses a design and vendor completely separate from the wrestling company, giving all of the proceeds to Emily’s House, a Toronto based hospice for children. This means that your $28 will go do a well designed shirt while your cash goes to a good cause. At the very least, it doesn’t have a stupid back design like most of the official merchandise!

The shirt is only available for a limited time, so make sure you get your order in at here. Are you tuning in to watch Arrow save the WWE? Be heard below!

If you thought The Flash season 1 was huge, season 2 is growing even bigger.

At Comic Con, it was confirmed that Jay Garrick, Patty Spivot, Wally West and Professor Zoom will all appear in the next season of The CW’s super hero series, further exploring the multiverse elements that were introduced in May’s finale.

Teased in the final moments of the season ender thanks to his helmet flying through Reverse Flash’s escape route into the future, Jay Garrick is typically known as the original Flash in the comics. Played by Teddy Sears, Jay will join the cast alongside Shantel Vansanten as Patty, Joe West’s new partner on the force. With casting for Wally and Professor Zoom yet to be announced, it’s clear that the inclusion of both characters have the potential to shake up the CW Flash universe considering their roles in the source material. Oh, and if you were expecting Reverse Flash to take up the mantel of Zoom, it’s been confirmed that this version will be separate from Tom Cavanagh’s expertly played villain from the first season, (although the actor will return in some capacity.)

In what ways do you think the expanded cast will affect the dynamic of the show? Will Barry and Patty serve as the Iris and Eddie of this season? What did Caitlyn mean about not coming back at the end of the sizzle reel? And considering Wally’s last name, what relation will he have to the West family? Our impatient minds will learn soon enough, when The Flash returns on October 6th.

At San Diego Comic Con, the first trailer for the upcoming animated series, Vixen, was debuted. Taking place in the same universe as Arrow and The Flash, the clip below shows Mari Jiwe McCabe beating down the bad guys, (as well as our beloved heroes,) using her unique ability to channel the abilities of the animal kingdom.

Releasing as an exclusive on The CW’s digital only animation block, CW Seed, Vixen will debut on August 25th as a six part mini series. Following the origins and growth of the character as she contends with potential friends and foes alike, fans like myself are speculating how, (or if,) this series will eventually lead to her full integration into the live action shows. With characters like Oliver Queen, Barry Allen and Cisco Ramon making appearences in the brief reveal, all signs point to this being a no brainer.

From the trailer alone, a few things are clear to me. One, I really wish this could have been live action. Two, I’m pretty sure it’s not because the special effects budget would be blown in a few episodes. Three, Cisco’s oggling of every female he comes across is starting to get a little desperate. And lastly, who needs super speed or the ability to shoot arrows really well when you can channel an elephant!? Can you tell I’m excited?

With the voice talent of Megalyn Echikunwoke as Vixen, and Stephen Amell, Grant Gustin, and Carlos Valdes reprising their respective roles, it won’t be long until we find out how this storyline will play out. Until then, we’ll have wait a little while longer for Vixen, Legends Of Tomorrow, and the rest of the CW DC shows to hit our screens through the fall and beyond.

Who else is excited for the latest addition to the Arrow universe? Tell us all about it in the comments!

Briefly: Looks like The CW has another 90’s throwback planned for The Flash, and another original series cast member will reprise his villainous role.

It’s Mark Hamill, and he’s playing The Trickster. The CW lists the character’s bio as:

“Mark Hamill returns in a brand new interpretation of James Jesse (aka The Trickster), a role he originated on the 90’s ‘Flash’ series.  In this new iteration, The Trickster is an anarchist terrorist  con man serving a life sentence in Iron Heights who helps Barry (Grant Gustin) and Det. West (Jesse L. Martin) to foil the city-wide attacks of a wannabe Trickster eagerly following in the original’s deadly footsteps.   The episode will reunite him with John Wesley Shipp who went up against him as the original ‘Flash’ on the CBS version.”

The CW has been doing a pretty stellar job with The Flash so far, and it’s especially cool to see all the nods and recastings that they’ve been doing in homage to the original series.

Series’ executive producer Andrew Kreisberg notes that “Having Mark reprise his role as The Trickster was on our original wish list when we were planning our version of The Flash.  Christmas and Chanukah came early for us this year when he said yes!  We are beyond humbled and excited to have him joining us for another round of deadly trickery!”

Are you down for the role? Excited to see what sort of shape Hamill’s gotten himself into for his role in Star Wars: Episode VII? Sound out below!

Briefly: We’re now just a couple of weeks away from the anticipated Arrow The Flash crossover event, and The CW today debuted a new batch of images from the upcoming episode.

A synopsis has also been revealed, giving us a much better idea of what we can expect from the first half of the event:

Barry (Grant Gustin) is thrilled when Oliver (guest star Stephen Amell), Felicity (guest star Emily Bett Rickards) and Diggle (guest star David Ramsey) come to Central City to investigate a case involving a deadly boomerang. Excited about teaming up with his friend, Barry asks Oliver if he’d like to help him stop Ray Bivolo, the meta-human Barry is currently tracking. Bivolo causes people to lose control of their emotions and has been using that skill to rob banks. Unfortunately, the superhero partnership doesn’t go as smoothly as Barry expected. When Oliver tells Barry he still has a lot to learn, Barry sets out to prove him wrong by attempting to stop Bivolo alone. However, when Bivolo infects Barry and sets him on a rage rampage, everyone is in danger, and the only one who can stop him is the Arrow. Meanwhile, Iris (Candice Patton) is furious when Eddie (Rick Cosnett) tries to get a task force to stop The Flash, Joe and Dr. Wells (Tom Cavanagh) agree the Arrow is a bad influence on Barry, and Caitlin and Cisco deal with a new team in S.T.A.R. Labs.

It certainly sounds like an action-packed episode, and I really can’t wait to see it. For now, we’ll have to settle on these images while we count down the days. Take a look at everything below, and let us know what you think of Arrow so far!

Briefly: Following the new trailer released earlier this month, The CW today debuted four new character posters for the upcoming season premiere of Arrow.

In pretty typical Arrow fashion, each and every one of the new posters (featuring Stephen Amell, Colton Haynes, David Ramsey, and Manu Bennett) spotlights one of Starling City’s most beautiful men, completely naked from the waist up.

Take a look at the new posters below, and let us know if you’re looking forward to Arrow‘s return. Season two premieres on October 9th!

While you’re at it, how do you feeling about the show’s just-cast Barry Allen?

Briefly: Following the impressive sizzle reel that debuted at this year’s Comic-Con, The CW has debuted the first official trailer for Arrow‘s second season.

I guess I should hurry up and finish season one, huh? The trailer actually looks pretty awesome, and the premiere is just over a month away!

Take a look at the trailer below, and let us know if you’re excited! Arrow premieres on October 9th!

Briefly: The CW has just revealed the first poster for the anticipated second season of Arrow.

The poster is pretty standard faire, featuring a somber (or bored) looking, shirt-clad Amell (what’s up with that?), and the show’s supporting cast in the background.

All jokes aside, I’m really looking forward to Arrow‘s second season. More DC characters are set to debut during its duration, including Black Canary and, of course, The Flash! Take a look at the poster below, and let us know if you’re looking forward to Arrow. Season two premieres on October 9th!

ArrowSeason2

We’re just a few days away from the anticipated return of The CW’s Arrow (along with our weekly column, The Mark), and the network has just treated us to a sexy new poster.

Everyone digs scars right? They fall front and center on Stephen Amell’s ripped, ripped chest in the shows latest advertisement.

Are you currently watching Arrow? Does Amell’s body make as many appearances as you’d like it to? How is the rest of the show? Again, Arrow returns on Wednesday, January 16th at 8pm.

ArrowReturns

After a violent shipwreck, billionaire playboy Oliver Queen was missing and presumed dead for five years before being discovered alive on a remote island in the Pacific. When he returns home to Starling City, his devoted mother Moira, much-beloved sister Thea, and best friend Tommy welcome him home, but they sense Oliver has been changed by his ordeal on the island. While Oliver hides the truth about the man he’s become, he desperately wants to make amends for the actions he took as the boy he was. Most particularly, he seeks reconciliation with his former girlfriend, Laurel Lance. As Oliver reconnects with those closest to him, he secretly creates the persona of Arrow – a vigilante – to right the wrongs of his family, fight the ills of society, and restore Starling City to its former glory. By day, Oliver plays the role of a wealthy, carefree and careless philanderer he used to be – flanked by his devoted chauffeur/bodyguard, John Diggle – while carefully concealing the secret identity he turns to under cover of darkness. However, Laurel’s father, Detective Quentin Lance, is determined to arrest the vigilante operating in his city. Meanwhile, Oliver’s own mother, Moira, knows much more about the deadly shipwreck than she has let on – and is more ruthless than he could ever imagine.

Sweeps period is upon us (Neilson ratings lingo), and networks are beginning to ramp up promos for their upcoming episodes!

The CW today released a new poster for their hugely popular Arrow, and surprisingly enough, this one features star Stephen Amell in a shirt. You’d think that would be detrimental to ratings!

In any case, check out the poster below! Shawn has also started a great weekly Arrow column with The Mark, where he tells you about each weekly episode, and let you know of any easter eggs you may have missed!

Mark (haha) your calendars! You can watch Arrow at 8PM, Wednesdays on The CW.

We saw the Deathstroke mask in the teaser. Kelly Hu has been cast as China White. And now the CW has reportedly confirmed that longtime Suicide Squad member, Deadshot will be taking on Starling City’s Emerald Archer in the third episode of the upcoming series Arrow titled “Lone Gunmen”. They have not yet announced though who will be portraying the character.

Stephen Amell aka Arrow’s Oliver Queen has tweeted his take on the news. Apparently someone really wants Oliver dead as they’ve enlisted DC’s best assassins.

At first I was going to ignore this show…but now I may just have to watch it. Especially if they get Deadshot’s suit right unlike what Smallville. Let us forget about that show.
