With Battlefield 4 released less than a month ago, players were expecting the first expansion (China Rising) to ship out sometime in December. Well it looks like DICE got a little bit antsy and thought to themselves: “Hey! Let’s put out the second expansion first!”. So with that we got ourselves a trailer for the Second planned expansion, which is being released first. Check out Second Assault

This expansion features four BF3 maps retooled on the Frostbite 3 engine (Metro, Caspian Border, Operation Firestorm and Gulf of Oman). Players will also get their hands on five remastered weapons, 10 new assignments and the return of the Dune Buggy vehicle! You will be able to show off all these new goodies with the return of the classic Capture the Flag gametype.

You can get your hands on Second Assault NOVEMBER 22nd! There is ONE caveat though. And XBOX ONE caveat. It will ship out to BF4: Premium accounts on the 22nd, then December 2nd for regular BF4 players on Xbox One. There is no release date for when the PS3, PS4 or the PC versions will get their hands on it. Be sure to stay tuned to your Battlelog feed for more details!

Saints Row has come a long way since its debut. Starting off as a GTA clone exclusive to the new (at the time) Xbox 360, the game evolved from a Rockstar wannabe and became more and more outrageous. And by outrageous, I mean becoming a gangster celebrity while beating rivals to death with farts in a jar and a giant dong called “The Penetrator” in the most recent title. Because nothing’s more gangsta than a fart in a jar.

It’s safe to say that the game doesn’t take itself too seriously. So it’s no surprise that the upcoming Saints Row 4 will feature some ridiculous new features. But after scraping the bottom of the barrel as far as weapons are concerned, (as seen by the above examples,) developer Volition will literally have to go out of this world.

As President of the United States, the Saints leader is abducted by aliens and must use his newfound super powers to defeat them. And yes, I did just type that. When powers won’t cut it, you could always resort to your inflating ray that makes enemies pop driving a bipedal mech, or just go to town with the Dubstep gun. No one can resist the power of Dubstep.

Think I’m making this up? Watch the newest trailer which walks us through these early features of the game. If this is where the game is at now, I can’t imagine how crazy the final build will be when it’s released on August 20th, practically going head to head with its initial inspiration in GTA V. But I think its safe to say that the Saints have “grown” enough to stand on their own.

Recently, a leaked email to the Microsoft Durango team refutes the Always-On internet connected rumor that was going around regarding the upcoming Xbox Code Name Durango. This information comes courtesy of the often reliable VGleaks.

I was never too concerned with the rumor. However, in the event that my internet was shut off for some reason, I thought about how, in this instance, I would not be able to play my Xbox at all. These rumors come in advance of the upcoming XBox Reveal on Tuesday May 21st. Obviously, addressing this Always-On rumor would have been a major point for fans but via “Leaked” info we now know this to not be true. Whew! We can all let our cable bills lapse a little longer!

All of these flying rumors have us all very much looking forward to what Microsoft has planned for the next generation of gaming. Luckily, we only have over a week left to find out. Which poses the question: after hearing what the PS4 has to offer, what do you guys want to see in the next iteration of the Xbox?

EEEEEEIIIIIGHHHHTTT DAYS!!! EEIIIIGHTTTT DAAAAAAAYS! Bioshock Infinite will be soaring into homes an March 26th! I am actually starting to be excited over it, especially after this action packed TV spot! Lets just hope we aren’t getting another damsel in distress on our hands!

Damn this is exciting news! Last October a few images leaked, for a new first person XBLA game called Star Wars: First Assault, and just recently the guys over at Kotaku were able to release details on the game. Most intriguing bit of news was that is supposed to be a predecessor to the long lost Battlefront III. Well today, we got our hands on some leaked footage from the game, also from our friends at Kotaku.

That is some crazy cool looking stuff right there! We get a peak of some new weapons, and what looks like a riot shield from long, long ago. The one thing I feel comfortable speculating is one of the game types, it appears that there will be a bomb transport gametype, like the one in Team Fortress 2.

No other news has been put out/leaked as of yet, but what we got in the last few days is AWESOME! Being a hardcore Battlefront I and II fan, I cannot be more excited!

Just the other day we posted up the newest trailer for the upcoming TMNT game “Out of The Shadows”.

WELL! Today we at Geekscape just got a you another Turtle Treat! We have ourselves the US AKA American trailer for the upcoming  downloadable title from Activision. Take a peak with me below!

You can grab TMNT: Out of The Shadows on PSN and XBLA this summer!

The much anticipated fifth and final expansion for the AMAZING Battlefield 3, Endgame, has its details released. We got a release date and more! Take a peak at this gameplay trailer, feature some sick dirtbike tricks!

This was my literal face the entire time I was watching this trailer.

From the Official Battlefield Blog:

All-new fast and agile dirt bike
When building End Game, high-speed warfare was our mantra. Nothing illustrates this better than the new fast and agile dirt bike, that lets you take a friend to the frontlines at high speed while doing wheelies and quick stops. It’s a true two-wheel vehicle with its own physics engine that is a perfect fit for our returning game mode Capture the Flag.

We have hidden a lot of cool jumps for you on all maps that you can attempt if you need a quick getaway in a daredevil fashion. The dirt bike is clearly the star among the new vehicles in End Game, and we will return shortly with an in-depth blog post focused solely on this agile and versatile addition to the ever-growing Battlefield vehicle line-up.

Call for reinforcements with the new dropship
But that’s not all. You can also jump into the seat of two new AA vehicles or use the new dropship to call in reinforcements or parachute in behind enemy lines. The AA vehicles is the first time in Battlefield 3 that a troop transport has been fitted with a roof mounted AA turret in addition to a rocket launcher, effectively making it able to defend against both ground and air vehicles. The dropship gets awarded to whatever team holds the central flag in Conquest mode and lets you drop in an additional Infantry Fighting Vehicle by parachute, forcing the enemy to keep close tabs on your position or risk being overrun.

Fight all year around
End Game contains four vast and varied maps, each inspired by one of the four seasons. If there’s something our line of expansion packs have shown, it’s how many different flavors of combat Battlefield 3 can cater for. From the classic gameplay of Back to Karkand to the tight infantry combat on Close Quarters and massive all-out vehicle warfare of Armored Kill – we love to give our fans new experiences while staying true to the Battlefield core.

By making each map distinctly unique, End Game serves as a beautiful reminder of the broad range of vistas we can deliver with the Frostbite 2 engine, and how the environment influences gameplay in subtle ways. From the beautiful fall-themed Operation Riverside, with its many rivers and electrical sub-stations, to snowy Sabalan Pipeline, End Game brings all of your favorite settings into one tight package.

The return of Capture the Flag and Air Superiority
Capture the Flag is a classic multiplayer game mode for anyone interested in shooters, and it was actually part of the original Battlefield 1942 released more than 10 years ago. End Game marks the first time in a decade that Capture the Flag returns to the Battlefield, and we think it’s a perfect fit with the new theme of high-speed warfare and mobility that the dirt bike brings to the game. Stay tuned for an in-depth look at our Battlefield version of Capture the Flag in a later blog post in this series.

Also new for End Game is the jet-based Air Superiority game mode where players can take part in massive dogfights, much like when this game mode first appeared in Battlefield 1943. If you’re a Premium member, you can watch an exclusive video right now featuring extended gameplay from Air Superiority mode. Just head to the Battlelog Premium videos section to check it out. We will return with in-depth Air Superiority information later in this blog series, so stay tuned for that.

Well, you’re in luck, as I have here a copy of that prized Battlefield Premium trailer for Air Superiority.

I’m getting SO PUMPED RIGHT NOW! After getting my mind blown by that intense Mad Max style chase, I lost it when I saw full on Dog Fight maps.

You can your friends can enjoy End Game this March, on PC, XBOX 360 and PS3!

The Master Chief train is going strong. We just told you about The Mantis now we got some more news for you.

Valve’s new add-on to the very popular game Left 4 Dead 2 has been delayed <once again> for Xbox 360. The DLC, Cold Stream has been promised for more than a year for Xbox 360 players. The blog for the game posted that the new content was releasing July 24th (about two weeks ago). The DLC will also include four other imports from the first Left 4 Dead. They are, Blood Harvest, Crash Course, Dead Air, and Death Toll

“We are working with MS on a release schedule,” Valve wrote on their official Left 4 Dead Developer Twitter feed. “We don’t have an ETA yet but we hope to have it out soon. It will be 560 [Microsoft Points, or $7]… We have no news on an [ETA] yet.”

I actually rushed home today and had my night planned around playing it. Guess if I had my choice I’d take the bat upside Valve’s head for the delay. Better yet, the chainsaw!

The PC version is available now on Steam for free.

Developed by Certain Affinity and unveiled at Rooster Teeth’s RTX Convention in Austin, Halo 4 promises new toys, tools, and hopefully headache-free forging. Check out the video to watch dynamic lighting, magnetized pieces, locked pieces, and more!

As someone who spends time in single player and multiplayer a lot more than Forge, I can safely say that I’ll now make an attempt at building something worthy of seeing the light of day.

Today it was announced that indie game developer NeoCore Games will be releasing an action RPG based on the characters from Bram Stokers Dracula novel.

The game is said to be set in a Gothic Noir 19th Century Europe with Monsters, Magic and Technology, which I can assume would be a very stylized steampunk kind of world, which sounds pretty damn cool.

Set to hit the Xbox Live Arcade sometime this Q4, I am excited to see what this studio can do with this IP.

Check out some concept art below.

The extremely anticipated sequel to the most successful Transformers game ever, The Fall of Cybertron keeps the hype machine fueled. Featuring bigger and more expansive environments, FoC embarks players on new adventures that are built around their characters abilities and alternate forms. PLUS WE GET SOME DINOBOTS BABY!

Check out the gallery below for some tasty, tasty pics.

When I was sent this video I was skeptical. Another Kinect game with shitty controls, bad graphics and horrible gameplay. Then I watched it and was completely blown away. As much as the crazy tinfoil hat wearing person inside of me is saying “DON’T DO IT MAN! THEY CAN SEE YOU MAN”, I think this is going to be the reason I get a Kinect.

Set in an alternate history universe where computers do not exist, Steel Battallion: HA ships today on the Xbox 360. A Kinect is required for play, and I feel the missions may get a tad bit repetative, but besides that this game looks awesome.

Coming this fall, Konami is going to be releasing a remastered version of both Zone of the Enders AND Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner!

Zone of the Enders, for those who don’t know, was a 2001 PS2 game developed by Kojima Productions. Many people bought it because it had a demo for Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty, but marketing tactics aside, the gameplay was fantastic, the story was surprisingly decent, and piloting a giant robot that destroys other giant robots was as natural and easy as jumping on a goomba in Super Mario Brothers. ZOE: The 2nd Runner built on that with improved gameplay, an epic story, graphics that are still completely mind-blowing to this day, and a ton of extras unlocked once you beat the main game that will keep you coming back for more.

These games are beloved and hard to find, especially ‘The 2nd Runner’. Now they will be available outside of the PS2 and will see a release on both the PS3 and the Xbox 360. Tomoyuki Tsuboi, President of Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc, had this to say regarding the re-release:

We are looking forward to bringing the legendary Zone of the Enders series to fans old and new in a high definition format with the Zone of Enders HD Collection.

As of now, there is no information regarding extras or updates in the game aside from the graphics. Personally, I’m hoping that with ‘The 2nd Runner’, we get all the content that was included in the special edition that was only available in Japan, but even a straight port with remastered graphics will still make for a great experience.

Elizabeth “Kitty McScratch” Bolinger is a surprise guest that I really had to have on the show. She currently holds 103 registered world records in dance and rhythm gaming (and claims to have another 100 that are still being submitted). The Guinness World Record people contacted Geekscape about talking to Elizabeth and since Geekscape always needs more gamers and female subjects, I thought it would be a great idea. I think you will too! We talk about record breaking, old school games versus new school, if videogames cause violence, being hit on by guys online and a ton more! Enjoy!
