Not to long ago we told you about the next in line to play Spider-Man, AND its newest director. Well now we have ourselves our Aunt May, and you’ll probably be as surprised as me when you find out who it is.

Marisa Tomei IS Aunt May (that shit rhymes!).

This casting, at least to me, seems like an odd choice for the actress. Normally reserved to more “serious” roles (The Wrestler, My Cousin Vinny and The Lincoln Lawyer), it came as a surprise to most of the community when it was announced.

A lot of people are worried that she is too young for the role, but with the right amount of makeup I think it might be a good role for her.

Spider-Man is set to hit theaters July 28th, 2017.

Following yesterdays announcement that Elodie Yung has been cast as ‘Elektra Natchios’ in the second season of ‘Marvel’s Daredevil’. Marvel released a teaser image signaling her arrival to Hell’s Kitchen.

CJWAIh4UsAACqAD

According to Deadline, Elodie Yung (G.I. Joe: Retaliation), is set to play Elektra in Daredevil‘s second season.

It’s going to be very interesting to see the direction that the show is going with the addition of The Punisher, who will be portrayed by Jon Bernthal, and now Elodie Yung’s Electra. Season 2 of Daredevil has already started production, so it’ll be interesting to see if Elektra is a late addition to the season, or a cameo like Stick.

I really don’t remember her role in G.I. Joe: Retaliation and I’m not familiar with any of her other works, so I may have to check out some clips to see if she’s going to be a good fit. I’m just really more excited about the character Elektra being brought in. She was hinted at in season 1 by a throwaway comment from Foggy regarding Matt’s past girlfriends. So I’m sure we will see some flashbacks with them possibly sparring.

Briefly: Along with those brand new The Walking Dead season six photos, EW has just debuted a new image of Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool.

And he looks so freaking cool.

The article reiterates that Reynolds has been looking to play the character for over a decade, and that this time around, it’s really, really Deadpool, and not that crap that we saw back in 2009’s X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

Producer Simon Kinberg is also very adamant that “Deadpool is a hard R,” which is beyond exciting for fans. Take a look at the new image below, and be sure to let us know if you’re excited for the feature. Deadpool hits theatres on February 12, 2016!

Briefly: Following the sweet international trailer from just last week, Marvel has just debuted the first official clip for next month’s Ant-Man.

I’ve been pretty on-the-fence on the film since its troubled production began, and especially following that less-than-stellar first trailer. It’s been a long time coming, however, and as the release approaches, the film’s ever improving marketing has definitely been raising my interest, and at this point I can’t wait to line-up on July 17th.

Today’s clip marks the first time that Paul Rudd uses the Ant-Man suit, and it’s pretty freaking awesome.

In the film, “Armed with the astonishing ability to shrink in scale but increase in strength, con-man Scott Lang (Rudd) must embrace his inner-hero and help his mentor, Dr. Hank Pym (Douglas), protect the secret behind his spectacular Ant-Man suit from a new generation of towering threats. Against seemingly insurmountable obstacles, Pym and Lang must plan and pull off a heist that will save the world”

Take a look at the clip below, and be sure to let us know what you hope to see from the feature! Ant-Man hits theatres on July 17th!

Briefly: Marvel’s Ant-Man is now just a few weeks away from theatres, and the studio has began to turn its marketing machine up to 11. Following the new poster from just a few days back, a new international trailer has just debuted, featuring a ton of fresh, fresh footage, and a batch of new laughs to boot.

Briefly: Back in April (yep, on the first), we fooled a few of you by announcing that The Walking Dead‘s Chandler Riggs had been cast as Peter Parker in Sony / Marvel’s Spider-Man reboot.

Obviously, we were lying, so you can stop tweeting us about it now. Today, however, Sony and Marvel revealed (for real) who will be our next wall-crawler, as well as who will be directing the feature.

19 year-old The Impossible and In The Heart of the Sea star Tom Holland (not as young as we were expecting) has been tapped as our friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man, while fairly-newcomer Jon Watts (Watts directed this year’s Sundance hit Cop Car) will direct the feature.

Of the announcement, Sony Pictures Chairman Tom Rothmans noted that “It’s a big day here at Sony. Kevin, Amy and their teams have done an incredible job. The Marvel process is very thorough, and that’s why their results are so outstanding. I’m confident Spider-Man will be no exception. I’ve worked with a number of up-and-coming directors who have gone on to be superstars and believe that Jon is just such an outstanding talent. For Spidey himself, we saw many terrific young actors, but Tom’s screen tests were special. All in all, we are off to a roaring start.”

Feige adds that “As with James Gunn, Joss Whedon, and the Russo brothers, we love finding new and exciting voices to bring these characters to life. We spent a lot of time with Jon and find his take and work inspiring.”

Last I’d heard, 18-year old Asa Butterfield was essentially a lock for the project. This is an interesting turn, and in any case, I’m excited to see just where Sony can take Spider-Man with Marvel’s help! What do you think of the announcement? Is there anyone else you’d rather see in the role? Sound out below!

The yet-untitled Spider-Man reboot hits theatres on July 28th, 2017.

It’s official, Oscar nominated-actor Chiwetel Ejiofor (12 Years a Slave) will play the villainous Baron Mordo in Marvel Studio’s upcoming Doctor Strange film. Baron Mordo was created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko and first appeared in Strange Tales #111. Mordo is a fellow apprentice of the Ancient One but betrays him and Doctor Strange.

The Scott Derrickson directed film also stars Benedict Cumberbatch in the title role.

It might be a little early to get excited for this movie but I think it’s going to have a completely different vibe from all the other Marvel Studio movies when it opens in theatres November 4, 2016.

Briefly: Well this came out of nowhere.

Marvel has just announced that The Walking Dead and Fury actor Jon Bernthal has been cast as Frank Castle, and that he’ll first appear in next year’s second season of Daredevil.

Marvel states that “He is a vigilante who aims to clean up New York City’s Hell’s Kitchen by any means necessary, no matter how lethal the results.” The first season of Daredevil marked some of the most graphic TV that I can recall watching, and I can’t wait to see just how far they can turn things up with Punisher.

Jeph Loeb, Marvel’s Head of Television stated that “Jon Bernthal brings an unmatched intensity to every role he takes on, with a potent blend of power, motivation and vulnerability that will connect with audiences. Castle’s appearance will bring dramatic changes to the world of Matt Murdock and nothing will be the same.”

I knew that Punisher rights reverted back to Marvel recently, but I certainly didn’t expect them to jump on the character like this. What do you think of Bernthal for role? Is there anyone else you’d rather have seen as Frank Castle?

Daredevil‘s second season hits Netflix in 2016.

Briefly: After binging Marvel’s Daredevil back in April, we’ve all been beyond ready for AKA Jessica Jones to hit the streets ever since.

The show is still slated to release this year, but with a slight change in title, according to ComicBook.com.

The title has been shortened from AKA Jessica Jones, to simply Jessica Jones. For simplicity’s sake (and to keep up with the naming conventions of other Marvel/Netflix titles), I think that it’s a damn good move.

The new title was discovered via the following screen cap, which Marvel later confirmed.

Briefly: Marvel’s Ant-Man is less than two months away from theatres at this point, and the studio has began to turn its marketing machine up to 11. Following the new poster from just a few days back, a new, one minute-long TV spot has just hit the web.

The spot features a ton of footage that we haven’t seen yet, and definitely looks to expand on the laughs that we first saw in the previous trailer.

Take a look at the preview below, and be sure to let us know what you hope to see from the feature! Ant-Man hits theatres on July 17th!

Briefly: Following the much better second trailer from last month, and a cool poster from just a few weeks back, Marvel has just debuted another one sheet for July’s Ant-Man.

This one features our shrunken hero atop one of his insect pals dodging a series of bullets. I wonder how many times we’ll see that in the feature.

This week I attended Atlantic City Boardwalk Con to do some interviews for The Saint Mort Show, and to help my friends at Ashen Phoenix with their booth. Whenever attending a first time show, you never really know just what you’re about to partake in, but I can honestly say that this was the most fun I’ve had attending a convention in a long time.

The show was easy to navigate, even with a great turnout. I was hugged by Jason Mewes after talking to him about sobriety, got to interview the writer/director of Animaniacs (podcast coming this weekend), watched DMC rap ‘It’s Tricky’ from not more than 15 feet from me, and I took a picture of Xavier Woods not realizing it was him until much much later (more on this below).

At the con I befriend Marvin Cruz of Hero Hotties Photography, I’d like to thank Marvin for providing me with hese pictures so that I wasn’t posting cell phone photos.

There was definitely a lot of great cosplay at the convention, and these were some of the standouts!

Okay so Marvin didn’t take this last photo. It was pulled from Xavier Woods’ Instagram, but it comes with a story. In wrestling there has been a faction called New Day that people HATED. About 2-3 months ago I began telling people that I genuinely think they were about to turn a corner and become must watch TV. Everyone made fun of me. Now they’re still getting booed … but because they’re heels. They’re hilarious and people have seemed to embrace them more.

So at the booth a guy dressed as the black ranger came over to get a photograph, and I thought he looked familiar but I couldn’t place a name to the face. He wanted a picture with one of the models dressed as Kraven (who was his friends favorite Spider-Man villain). We took the photo and about an hour later another fan came by the booth and noticed my Dolph Ziggler shirt and said “Did you see Xavier Woods was cos-playing as the Black Ranger?”

I checked Instagram and lo and behold… I failed at a chance to tell Xavier Woods how much I love the New Day gimmick (for evidence look no further than this weeks episode of the Saint Mort Show podcast).

A small casting announcement today as Marvel has revealed Paul Rudd will make his first appearance alongside the Avengers as Scott Lang/Ant-Man in Captain America: Civil War. We’ll have to wait to see whether Rudd ends up making more than just a cameo in the film but we should have a pretty good idea how big his role in it will be after we see Ant-Man.

Captain America: Civil War is going to be loaded with superheroes from the Marvel universe. The cast so far looks something like this:

Captain America – Chris Evans
Iron Man – Robert Downey Jr
The Falcon – Anthony Mackie
Black Widow – Scarlett Johansson
War Machine – Don Cheadle
The Vision – Paul Bettany
The Winter Soldier – Sebastien Stan
Agent 13 – Emily VanCamp
Black Panther – Chadwick Boseman
General Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross – William Hurt
Crossbones – Frank Grillo
Everett K Ross? – Martin Freeman

As well as Daniel Brühl casted to play the iconic Captain America villain Baron Zemo.

Right now this looks more like another Avengers movie than a Captain America but hey, no harm in that.

Ant-Man comes out later this summer (July 17) and Captain America: Civil War is set for release on May 6, 2016.

Marvel has just released a full character poster for Ant-Man. Now that the Avengers train has left the station, Marvel/Disney can now focus its media machine onto Ant-Man, which up until recently felt like it was getting the back burner treatment. I’m hoping the movie does well and gets connected deeper into the Marvel Universe because right now it just feels like a stand alone film.

Also, what is up with Michael Peña on that poster, he looks crazy high.

Marvel’s Ant-Man stars Paul Rudd as Scott Lang aka Ant-Man, Evangeline Lilly as Hope Van Dyne, Corey Stoll as Darren Cross aka Yellowjacket, Bobby Cannavale as Paxton, Michael Peña as Luis, Judy Greer as Maggie, Tip “TI” Harris as Dave, David Dastmalchian as Kurt, Wood Harris as Gale, Jordi Mollà as Castillo and Michael Douglas as Hank Pym.

In “Ant-Man,” Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) approaches master thief Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) with a suit that grants him the ability to shrink in size but increases his strength! Scott must embrace his inner hero and put the suit to good use and save the world under Pym’s leadership.

Marvel Studios announced today that Martin Freeman has joined the cast of Captain America: Civil War, they did not reveal who he will be playing. This is exciting news, I’m a big fan of Freeman and will be intrigued as to what kind of role he will be playing in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

I think the safe bet would be that he will play some sort of Government official regarding the registration act, but will be delighted obviously if it was more than that. Who do you think he could be portraying?

5549036409a51

“From his roles as Bilbo Baggins and Doctor Watson to Tim in ‘The Office,’ Martin’s range from the dramatic to the comedic has consistently impressed us,” said “Captain America: Civil War” Producer Kevin Feige. “We couldn’t be more honored or excited to have such a talented actor join the Marvel Cinematic Universe.”

Captain America: Civil War” hits theaters May 6, 2016.

Briefly: I just arrived home from my Avengers: Age of Ultron screening, and what better way to wrap up that busy and action-packed flick than to listen to one of it’s heroes sing about all of the powers he has.

You don’t get to see all of Hawkeyes abilities onscreen (and it’s clear from the tune that he has a lot of them), but he does get the best line in the film (in my opinion).

This one’s set to the tune of Ed Sheeran’s Thinking Out Loud, and it’s freaking wonderful.

Have you already caught Age of Ultron? What did you think?

spider-man-shortlist

Sony has narrowed down their choices for the role of Peter Parker in the next live-action Spider-Man movie and is expected to make test offers in the coming weeks. The actors left to contend for the role include Nat Wolff (Paper Towns), Asa Butterfield (Hugo), Tom Holland (The Impossible), Timothee Chalamet (Homeland, Interstellar) and Liam James (The Way, Way Back), among others.

The new Spider-Man is expected to have a cameo in Marvel’s Captain America: Civil War but the character won’t be needed on set until June.

Sony and Marvel had no comment regarding the shortlist.

I’m leaning towards wanting Holland or Chalamet. Who are you guys cheering for? Let us know in the comments below?

Source: The Wrap

With Avengers: Age of Ultron set to premiere in the United States in just over a week, the press tour has gone into overdrive, and the headlining stories have been… unfortunate. They’re anything but the movie, for one thing.

Yesterday, Robert Downey Jr. suffered an extremely uncomfortable interview that prompted him to awkwardly walk out with tears in his eyes. It was a heartbreaking, sobering moment for a man we’ve seen as a titan in armor. Today, stars Chris Evans and Jeremy Renner are facing backlash for some questionable comments.

By questionable, I mean totally random and kind of bad.

“She’s a slut,” Jeremy Renner refers to fictional character Black Widow, the lone woman of the blockbuster super team.

“She has a prosthetic leg anyway,” says Chris Evans. (We’ll get to this one in a little bit.)

Let’s get this on the table first: They were jokes. Coming off an exhaustive shoot for a multi-million dollar movie, going on endless press tours answering the same, numbing, corporate-approved questions over and over again while struggling just to stay awake thanks to jet lag and constant media attention, Renner and Evans probably were just looking to have some fun and kick back.

However, that doesn’t excuse it from being bad jokes.

First, they’re a bit out of context. Defenders of these comments will argue that we’re taking their remarks out of context, but I question whether they actually have the ability to follow a conversation. The subject that prompted the remarks was about shipping Black Widow with some of the other Avengers (which I’d normally also stamp as sexist, but it’s such a popular topic amongst fans, particularly the female fans, there isn’t much negative baggage associated with it), and it would have just been harmless, if pointless babble.

Then Jeremy Renner called Black Widow a slut.

I mean, it’s jarring. Yeah, it’s about a fictional character, and that’s just what I’d even point out: she’s a fictional character. What the fuck is the point even mentioning her sex life? This isn’t Nymphomaniac either where sex is a major theme. This is Avengers where the goal is to sell t-shirts and toys.

It’s unfortunate this had to happen the same week Marvel — often the exemplars of progressive, inclusive storytelling and representation — are still reflecting some dumb boy’s club attitudes. In one major example, they’ve come under fire for not selling Black Widow merchandise at the same volume of her male counterparts. Being sold and marketed to isn’t exactly the pinnacle of diversity in my eyes, but it’s certainly reflective of larger attitudes at work.

More toys means more kids can grow up enjoying this stuff. It ensures the things you loved will live on for generations long after you’re rotting in the ground. Besides, pretend you’re a kid again and think about it: You don’t want others to play toys with? I was pretty lonely playing Power Rangers toys by myself as a kid, I would have been happy if anyone else, whoever they were, wanted to join me.

Black Widow, however problematic her character may be (not sure if a cold-hearted killer is a great role model for anybody) has become something of a spirit animal for much of the female Marvel fans, who are literally half the movie-going audience. The slut-shaming comments by two of the film’s stars against the one female character has caused quite the dissonance and vitriol from fans — and defenders of comedy or some kind of bullshit alike.

(I only pulled these four tweets just to illustrate, you can find far more with a simple search on Twitter or any comment on every article about this story on every other online outlet. Go nuts.)

I can’t quite subscribe to the “she’s a fictional character” argument. Not only are we in this kinda fucked up era where weirdos in Japan try to marry anime characters and you can’t surf Tumblr without readiNG CAPS-LOCK LADEN POSTS ABOUT THE FEELS AND REALNESS OF fiction, but we also project pieces of ourselves onto the inanimate figures who live only on paper and binary codes. How we treat and view those characters can be telling, because in some weird way it’s kind of how we treat ourselves. Ever took up martial arts because of your favorite Power Ranger? There’s a whole sect of ’90s kids who did.

If I really wanted to push buttons I’d say there’s a whole population of people who worship fictional characters and that I attended school for eighteen years devoted to said fictional characters, but I’m not in that kind of mood right now.

All of this is just unfortunate. Chris Evans and Jeremy Renner are humans and they deserve to fuck up, whether they think they were or not.

But they’ve also demonstrated themselves to be exemplary role models, and their fame in portraying superheroes have elevated them into a unique position where once only sports athletes occupied. They literally act out acts of heroism, and to an 8-year-old kid it doesn’t matter how much CGI and rendering it took because Captain America just saved people from falling wreckage! We can debate the merits and responsibilities of celebrities as a whole all day, but that won’t change the fact that people like Chris Evans and Jeremy Renner do have young eyes watching their every move and will imitate them in every way they can.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LEgzt9FP9gI

I’m happy “slut-shaming” and other types of body-shaming actually have names and that more and more people are speaking out against them. It’s insidious discrimination, to categorize people as lesser than you without actually assigning them a specific water fountain they can drink from. It’s blatant sexism, and I can’t defend that kind of casual hate speech — and make no mistake, casual, everyday, “we’re just joking” speech does as much damage as any major protest or discriminatory law can. I can speak from experience.

These are jokes, but they’re bad jokes and they shouldn’t just be “let go.” Let’s not crucify Renner and Evans and acknowledge that we’re all hella stoked for Avengers: Age of Ultron next week. But after this and Trevor Noah,* can we finally talk about what actually constitutes as comedy and what doesn’t? Can we finally accept that “harmless” sexism is anything but harmless?

Can we just not accept people being a bunch of fucking douchebags for once?

As far as the “she’s got a prosthetic leg” comment goes, allow me to dip a toe into the misogyny pool and introduce you to someone who I’d totally take in a manly fashion.

If there’s one thing sexier than a nice pair of legs, it’s strength.

*Not sure where this belongs, but it’s necessary that we not forget that unlike Trevor Noah neither Evans or Renner have earned a paycheck doing stand-up. Arguments about defending comedy go out the window in this situation.

Looks like ABC and Marvel want to keep the Agent’s of S.H.I.E.L.D. money train a going.

Deadline reported just moments ago that the spinoff series will star Adrianne Palicki & Nick Blood. They will be reprising their repsective roles as Mockingbird and Lance Hunter.

According to Deadline, the spinoff series will be setup by events in the current season of Agent’s of S.H.I.E.L.D. It’s still speculation whether it has anything to do with the teased hidden plot we’ve been given.

More details will be released once a script has been given as ABC says they will not be giving a greenlight until they have one in hand.

What are you thoughts on this possible spinoff series? Do you think Marvel is fragmenting their universe too much or spreading their creative talent too thin with all of these projects? We’d love to hear your opinion!

The second Fantastic Four trailer is out and it is full of team action. We get more scenes of the full on rock and rollin’ The Thing, getting ready for some serious clobbering. The trailer also serves as our first official look at Toby Kebbell as the villianous Doctor Doom.

Fantastic Four stars Miles Teller as Reed Richards, Michael B. Jordan as Johnny Storm, Kate Mara. As Sue Storm, and Jamie Bell as Ben Grimm.

Briefly: Avengers: Age of Ultron is fast approaching its May 1st release date, and Marvel has just debuted two fantastic new clips from the beyond-anticipated film.

In the movie, “When Tony Stark tries to jumpstart a dormant peacekeeping program, things go awry and Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, including Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, The Incredible Hulk, Black Widow and Hawkeye, are put to the ultimate test as the fate of the planet hangs in the balance. As the villainous Ultron emerges, it is up to the Avengers to stop him from enacting his terrible plans, and soon uneasy alliances and unexpected action pave the way for an epic and unique global adventure.”

The first clip shows just how Black Widow learns to calm down Hulk, while the second features a heated argument between the main cast. They’re not very spoiler-y, but it’s definitely starting to feel like we’ve seen the whole film at this point.

Take a look at the clips below, and be sure to let us know what you think!

Believe it or not, I can’t provide any insight to this trailer. I’m currently having audio issues with my computer, so I can’t dish out any snark or praise because I can’t hear a single damn thing.

But hey, Ant-Man looks good at least! Watching it without the sound it looks like a pretty serious movie despite the title being, you know, Ant-Man. And then there are shots with giant bugs and all of that goes away.

Paul Rudd is Ant-Man and you can see him crawl his way on screen July 17th!

Marvel and Netflix’s ‘Daredevil’ is a 13 episode masterpiece. From the incredible performances to the perfectly picked classic Daredevil moments from the past 40 years, it changes the game for comic book adaptations. But what did you miss? How is this going to shape things to come for the great Marvel Cinematic Universe? Luckily, Ian Kerner is here to help me make sense of what I argue is the greatest thing Marvel has produced yet!

Briefly: Okay, so we were totally lying on April 1st when we said that Chandler Riggs was playing Spider-Man.

But, today Kevin Feige did drop some new info about the role.

Feige revealed to Collider today that the new Spider-Man will indeed be Peter Parker, and that he’ll be Ultimate style 15-16 years old:

“In terms of the age of an actor we’ll eventually to cast, I don’t know. In terms of the age of what we believe Peter Parker is, I’d say 15-16 is right.”

He continues, explaining just why they chose to go with a younger Spidey this time around (aside from the fact that an immediately older one didn’t work):

“We want to play with Spider-Man in the high school years because frankly there’ve been five Spider-Man films and the amazing thing about it is, even though there’ve been five Spider-Man films, there are so many things from the comics that haven’t been done yet. Not just characters or villains or supporting characters, but sides to his character. The most obvious being the ‘young, doesn’t quite fit in’ kid before his powers, and then the fella that puts on a mask and swings around and fights bad guys and doesn’t shut up, which is something we want to play with and we’re excited about.”

Feige also culled some of our fears in a conversation with CraveOnline, revealing that the next Spider-Man film that we see won’t be an origin story:

“In Spider-Man’s very specific case, where there have been two retellings of that origin in the last whatever it’s been – [thirteen] years – for us we are going to take it for granted that people know that, and the specifics. It will not be an origin story. But, with great power comes great responsibility. It is inherent to who his character is. But we want to reveal it in different ways and spend much more time focusing on this young high school kid in the MCU dealing with his powers. There is a young kid [already] running around New York City in a homemade version of the Spider-Man costume in the MCU, you just don’t know it yet,“

Phew, I really didn’t want to spend the first half of his solo film with him learning how to wall crawl and stand up for himself. So, who would you like to see suit up as Spidey now that Donald Glover is definitely out?

Briefly: Following the final trailer from a few days back, Marvel has just debuted a stellar new featurette for next month’s Avengers: Age of Ultron.

The video features interviews with much of the film’s cast, talking about the current dynamic of the group and who may step up as leader when crisis calls. It also happens to feature a ton of new footage, so if you feel as though you’ve already seen too much of the film, you’ll probably want to avoid it.

For everyone else, you can take a look at the new featurette below, and be sure to let us know what you think! Avengers: Age of Ultron hits theatres on May 1st!

Briefly: Back in March, Eric noted that Captain America: The Winter Soldier and upcoming Captain America: Civil War directors Joe and Anthony Russo were expected to direct the two-part Avengers: Infinity War.

Today, Marvel gave the official announcement:

As anticipation and excitement build to a fever pitch for Marvel’s “Avengers: Age of Ultron,” the blockbuster sequel to the third-largest movie of all time, Marvel is proud to announce Joe and Anthony Russo will join the franchise as the directors of Marvel’s “Avengers: Infinity War – Part 1” and “Avengers: Infinity War – Part 2.”

The Russo brothers first entered the Marvel Cinematic Universe with Marvel’s “Captain America: The Winter Soldier,” one of the top-grossing film’s from 2014, and are currently preparing to shoot Marvel’s “Captain America: Civil War.” The third film in the Captain America franchise will bring the classic storyline from the comics to life pitting Cap (Chris Evans) against Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), as well as introducing Black Panther to the Marvel Cinematic Universe with actor Chadwick Boseman ahead of his own film later in Phase 3.

Before stepping behind the camera for “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” and “Captain America: Civil War,” the Russo brothers served as Executive Producers and directors for many TV series, including “Community” and “Happy Endings.” Joe and Anthony earned a Primetime Emmy award for their work directing the pilot episode of the cult-hit “Arrested Development” series. Their film debut was “Welcome to Collinwood”, produced by Steven Soderbergh and George Clooney.

I was a big fan of Captain America: The Winter Soldier (especially compared to other Phase Two films Iron Man 3 and Thor: The Dark World), and so I’m definitely down for more Russo. They also directed some of the best episodes of Community however, so hopefully being Marvel’s new favourites doesn’t take up all of their time.

Briefly: We’re finally just a few weeks away from the release of what has to be one of the most anticipated movies of the year, and what has to end up as one of the most successful films of the year, Avengers: Age of Ultron.

After releasing almost as many trailers as there are Avengers, the final trailer for the film finally hit the web today. It features a bunch of new footage, a bit more creepy Ultron, and dives a little deeper into Black Widow.

You can take a look at the final trailer below, and as always, be sure to let us know just how excited you are to line up on May 1st!

Ryan Reynolds appeared on Extra to discuss the upcoming Deadpool movie and its PG-13 rating. It’s a startling interview, and the actor — a staunch supporter of the character to be as “R”-rated as possible — opens up about his change of heart. But he does express his disappointment, as well as the fans’ negative reactions about the direction the film will be going in.

Deadpool is still set for release next year.
