Excited for New York Comic-Con? It’s just over a week away! Hope to see you there!

Briefly: Marvel is already having a great year, but they’re not even close to being done with us (or our wallets) yet. Sure Guardians of the Galaxy was one of the best films of the year, but Marvel and Disney have also teamed up to create the first Marvel animated feature: Big Hero 6.

The film is “an action comedy adventure about brilliant robotics prodigy Hiro Hamada, who finds himself in the grips of a criminal plot that threatens to destroy the fast-paced, high-tech city of San Fransokyo. With the help of his closest companion—a robot named Baymax—Hiro joins forces with a reluctant team of first-time crime fighters on a mission to save their city. Inspired by the Marvel comics of the same name, and featuring comic-book style action and all the heart and humor audiences expect from Walt Disney Animation Studios, the CG-animated “Big Hero 6″ hits theaters in 3D on November 7, 2014.”

Today, Disney debuted a new trailer for the film. It definitely gives us a much better look at the feature’s plot, and even goes into the origins of Baymax. You can take a look at the video below, and be sure to let us know what you think!

It seems that everything Marvel does these days turns to gold, and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. did not disappoint. After a slow start in the first few episodes, the show really picked up and became one of the better shows on television.

Unfortunately, when the season started, many fans of the films gave up on the show a bit quickly. While the show did start out a bit slow, those who persevered were not disappointed, especially once the season finale came around.

IAIN DE CAESTECKER, MING-NA WEN, CHLOE BENNET, CLARK GREGG, BRETT DALTON

The release of season one on blu ray will be the best chance for the quitters to come back and get into the show, and they should. With the addition of Marvel’s Agent Carter this year, the show will have even more exciting events take place, and will likely have many more crossovers within the Marvel Universe.

Season one had its share of crossovers. Thor’s Lady Sif came into an episode chasing after a war criminal from their world, and a few episodes tied directly into Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Not to mention many smaller mentions of characters, places and events from Avengers and other Marvel films.

Overall, the blu ray’s best draw for those who already watched the season is the abundance of extras. Five Behind-the-Scenes Field Reports are interesting views from the set of the show as it was being taped. A special effects breakdown shows how some of the cooler scenes were shot as well. The usual commentaries are there as well.

Agents-of-SHIELD-Coulson-Ward

And what season of television isn’t complete without a gag reel and deleted scenes? While I won’t divulge anything specific, there are a few hilarious moments, and the deleted scenes had me wishing they were able to keep some of them in the show. Also included is the airing of the first episode at San Diego Comic Con.

Overall, Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season One is absolutely worth purchasing, whether you were a die-hard fan, curious, or you were one of those who gave up on the show a bit too early. The bonus features are outstanding, and the show, well obviously I loved the show.

Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is out now on Blu Ray.

Here’s the trailer for Season 2:

Briefly: Marvel is already having a great year, but they’re not even close to being done with us (or our wallets) yet. Sure Guardians of the Galaxy was one of the best films of the year, but Marvel and Disney have also teamed up to create the first Marvel animated feature: Big Hero 6.

Since it was announced, the folks behind Disney Infinity 2.0 have assured us that while the focus is definitely on bringing their Marvel properties into the game, core Disney characters and owners of the original portals would not be forgotten. Details were scarce until now, when the Toy Box Starter Pack was officially announced.

Packaged with an Infinity Base, Stich, Merida, and Toy Box Game Discs featuring themed missions for both, the package will retail for $59.99, which is $25 cheaper than the Marvel starter set, albiet with no campaign missions and one less figure. Still, with limitless possibilities with the level creator, and the ability to download stages formed by the online community, this bundle still promises to be well worth it.

For those who have no interest in the Marvel pack, (wherever you are), or just want to play around with the new Toy Box without having to buy any new figures outside of the dozens you might own from the first game, then this might be a good buy. Still, I’m a little disappointed that it doesn’t seem like the Disney characters will receive any large scale campaign missions. It seems like these are reserved for their super hero bretheren.

Does the Toy Box Starter Pack sound like something you would pick up this holiday season? The Marvel Super Heroes Starter Pack is scheduled for a September 23rd release, with the Disney pack set to follow on November 4th.

Briefy: Following the casting additions and full synopsis released just yesterday, Marvel has debuted the first official still of Paul Rudd as Scott Lang in Peyton Reed’s Ant-Man.

The still certainly reveals little about the character (except that he wears an ugly hoodie), but it’s exciting to see the long-troubled film finally starting to come together.

You can take a look at the still below, and be sure to let us know what you think! Ant-Man hits theatres on July 17th!

Paul Rudd

Armed with the astonishing ability to shrink in scale but increase in strength, con-man Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) must embrace his inner-hero and help his mentor, Dr. Hank Pym (Michael Douglas), protect the secret behind his spectacular Ant-Man suit from a new generation of towering threats. Against seemingly insurmountable obstacles, Pym and Lang must plan and pull off a heist that will save the world.

Briefly: The long-troubled production of Ant-Man seems like it’s finally back on track, with Yes Man director Peyton Reed now at the helm, and a batch of new cast members joining the project.

The most notable casting addition is John Slattery, who will again play Howard Stark. Here’s who else you’ll be seeing:

The film also includes outstanding additional cast including Corey Stoll (“House of Cards,” “The Bourne Legacy”), Bobby Cannavale (“Danny Collins,” “Annie,” “HBO’s “The Long Play”), Michael Peña (“End of Watch,” “American Hustle”), Abby Ryder Fortson (“Togetherness”), Judy Greer (“13 Going on 30,” “Dawn of the Planet of the Apes”), David Dastmalchian (“The Dark Knight,” “Prisoners”), Wood Harris (“Remember the Titans,” “The Wire”), John Slattery (“Mad Men,” Marvel’s “Iron Man 2”) and Gregg Turkington (“The Comedy,” “On Cinema”) and multi-hyphenate T.I. (“American Gangster,” “Takers”).

Marvel also debuted a new synopsis for the film, which you can read below.

With all of the casting and director changes, are you still hopeful for the film? Ant-Man hits theatres on July 17th, 2015.

Briefly: Guardians of the Galaxy is awesome. A ton of you saw the movie this past weekend, and a lot of you probably saw it more than once (I’m definitely in that camp, and I’ll probably see it again before it leaves theatres).

Did you know that Star Lord’s ship, the Milano, is largely physical and doesn’t actually utilize a lot of CGI? At least on the inside, that is. In a very Cribs-esque video, Guardians star Chris Pratt shows us around the surprisingly detailed environment.

Take a look at the short video below, and let us know what you think! What was your favourite part of the film?

Miss our shenanigans from the red carpet? Check them out below!

Briefly: Captain America: The Winter Soldier is less than a month away from Blu-Ray, and Marvel has just officially debuted two deleted scenes from the release.

Cap 2 was a great watch when it hit theatres back in April, and I’m really looking forward to checking it out again. The Blu-Ray will hit stores on September 9th, and will include, Making-of Featurettes, Audio Commentary, Never-Before-Seen Deleted Scenes, Bloopers, And More…

Take a look at the scenes below, and let us know what you think!

After the cataclysmic events in New York with The Avengers, Marvel’s Captain America: The Winter Soldier finds Steve Rogers – aka Captain America – living quietly in Washington, DC, and trying to adjust to the modern world. But when a S.H.I.E.L.D. colleague comes under attack, Steve becomes embroiled in a web of intrigue that threatens to put the world at risk. Joining forces with the Black Widow, Captain America struggles to expose the ever-widening conspiracy while fighting off professional assassins sent to silence him at every turn. When the full scope of the villainous plot is revealed, Captain America and the Black Widow enlist the help of a new ally, the Falcon. However, they soon find themselves up against an unexpected and formidable enemy – the Winter Soldier.

Briefly: Two days ago we debuted a brand new Geekscape episode in which Jonathan, Shane O’Hare, our new friend Stanley Wong and I talk about our experiences at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con. For Jonathan and me, however, our geek spring break began one day earlier when we attended the world premiere of Marvel’s latest, Guardians of the Galaxy.

You can listen to the episode (in which I don’t really understand how a microphone works and am entirely too quiet throughout) for our full thoughts on the film, but you can also check out the video below to see just how much fun we had.

Jonathan is no stranger to selfies (my Facebook feed is constantly flooded with them), and he decided to go for some video selfies with the Guardians stars as well as some of the other celebrities walking down the red carpet. The results are pretty hilarious (especially the reaction from Elizabeth Henstridge).

Take a look at the video below, and be sure to subscribe and share if you enjoy it! We’ve got plenty more coming down the pipeline, so stay tuned!

Looking forward to Guardians of the Galaxy? Sound out below!

Another San Diego Comic Con is in the books! Derek Kraneveldt, Shane O’Hare and brand new Geekscapist Stanley Wong join me to regale you with tails from SDCC! First off, Derek and I attend the Guardians of the Galaxy premiere and tell you why it’s the best Marvel movie yet! Shane talks about his San Diego drunken escapades and losing an entire bag of SDCC swag! Stanley dares to find Comic Con lodging on Tinder! And all of us get harassed by new Geekscape villain Mordecai The Dark Lord! So what were the victories and tragedies of SDCC 2014? Listen up and join us! Disney Interactive has released a new Disney Infinity 2.0 trailer, showing off their two newest character reveals, (which means two more figures we’ll have to throw money at). After teasing Stitch last week, the adorably destructive alien is joined by Peter Pan‘s Tinkerbell, both of which will be able to work their magic in the Toy Box mode of the game.

While two new Disney based additions to the roster are definitely welcomed, the bigger news might be the new vehicles and environments hinted at in the trailer. A Gravity Falls theme? Darkwing Duck’s Ratcatcher motorcycle complete with side car? It begs the question… What else will 2.0 have in store for us when it releases? Either way, it looks like the game is looking to include properties spanning generations to reach the young and the young at heart.

Considering that many people were concerned over a potential lack of Disney with the obvious focus on Marvel, these additions on top of the previously revealed Maleficent and Merida figures ease those concerns a little bit. Even still, we’re yet to see any Disney themed Play Sets, so we won’t know if we’ll be able to take these new characters into their own campaigns until later. With that said, these figures and items are seemingly great additions, especially when you consider Stitch’s blasters and Stitch’s surfboard, (complete with Stitch on the nose), were in the first game, making his inclusion overdue. What if Stitch rides the surfboard though? Stitchception!?

Which characters, items and themes do you want to see make it in? Does seeing The Ratcatcher in a new game hit that nostalgia bone? And who else wants to see some Rescue Rangers content next? Tell us what you want to play with when Disney Infinity releases this fall!

Fast on the heels of the announcement that the new wielder of Mjolnir will be a woman, Marvel announced on the Colbert Report last night that the new comic book series “All New Captain America” will feature Sam Wilson–the character also known as Falcon–as Captain America, marking the first time a black character has taken on that persona.

This adds some much needed diversity to Marvel’s line-up, as Marvel’s Nick Fury from the Avengers is the only other notable character of color (though, outside the Marvel universe, the upcoming Fantastic Four reboot does have Johnny B. Storm being played by African-American actor Michael B Jordan).

Sam Wilson as Captain America in the upcoming comics.
Sam Wilson as Captain America in the upcoming comics.

Steve Rogers, the original Captain America, will remain in the comics as Sam Wilson’s mentor. Rogers was stripped of his power–and became an aged, frail man–when a long-time enemy drained the serum from him. Rogers passes the shield to Wilson.

“This is the fireworks factory we’re arriving at, and now everything’s going to blow up and be very pretty and exciting to look at,” said Rick Remender, writer of the new comic book series. “I’ve been having a lot of fun writing Sam. It’s a completely different attitude. The fact that he’s not a soldier shifts things up a bit. Sam’s not going to be Steve. Steve can be very rigid. That can be kind of joyless at times, whereas Sam is absolutely not that.”

Falcon, played by Anthony Mackie, was a pivotal character in this year’s Captain America: The Winter Soldier. The character was first introduced into the comics in 1969.

You can view the full announcement on The Colbert Report  here.

What do you guys think of Sam Wilson as Captain America? Let us know in the comments!

Briefly: Marvel is already having a great year, but they’re not even close to being done with us (or our wallets) yet. Today, Disney revealed the full voice cast for the anticipated feature. You can take a look at new images of the film’s characters below, and find out who’s playing who!

Hiro

Hiro Hamada (Voiced by Ryan Potter): Robotics prodigy Hiro Hamada has the mind of a genius-and the heart of a 14-year-old: his state-of-the-art battle-bots dominate the underground bot fights held in the dark corners of San Fransokyo. Fortunately, big brother Tadashi redirects Hiro’s brilliance, inspiring him to put his brain to the test in a quest to gain admission to the San Fransokyo Institute of Technology. When a tragic event changes everything, Hiro turns to a robot named Baymax, and they form an unbreakable bond-and two-sixths of a band of high-tech heroes on a very important mission.

Baymax

Baymax (Voiced by Scott Adsit): Baymax cares. That’s what he was designed to do. The plus-sized inflatable robot’s job title is technically Healthcare Companion: With a simple scan, Baymax can detect vital stats, and, given a patient’s level of pain, can treat nearly any ailment. Conceived and built by Tadashi Hamada, Baymax just might revolutionize the healthcare industry. But to the inventor’s kid brother Hiro, the nurturing, guileless bot turns out to be more than what he was built for-he’s a hero, and quite possibly Hiro’s closest friend. And after some deft reprogramming that includes a rocket fist, super strength and rocket thrusters that allow him to fly, Baymax becomes one of the Big Hero 6.

Fred

Fred (Voiced by T.J. Miller): Fanboy Fred comes off like a laid-back dude with no direction. But this sign-twirling, monster-loving, comic-book aficionado is sure to go places-when he’s good and ready. For example, Fred doesn’t hesitate to join “Big Hero 6,” and he has a lot of ideas for his super-hero skillset, too. His ferocious, fire-breathing alter ego comes complete with claws, integrated communications and a super bounce. But his sign-spinning may still come in handy.

GoGoTomago

Go Go Tomago (Voiced by Jamie Chung): Aptly named Go Go Tomago knows what it takes to be fast. She’s tough, athletic and loyal to the bone, but not much of a conversationalist. Popping bubble gum and delivering well-placed sarcasm are totally her speed. The daredevil adrenaline junkie is at her best on wheels, and when Go Go joins forces with Big Hero 6, she rolls like never before, using maglev discs as wheels, shields and throwing weapons.

Wasabi

Wasabi (Voiced by Damon Wayans Jr.): Wasabi is committed to precision. He’s super smart and just a touch neurotic, but the big and burly beatnik can’t help but join the cause when Hiro needs him most. As part of “Big Hero 6,” Wasabi amplifies his martial arts skills with jaw-dropping plasma blade weaponry. Sharp doesn’t even begin to describe this guy.

Briefly: We’re putting together a list of our top exclusives for San Diego Comic-Con 2014, and as a huge Bone fan, this is definitely an item that you’ll see among my picks.

Rocket

Skottie Young’s brand new Rocket Raccoon series is taking the comic book industry by storm, garnering rave reviews from critics and fans alike! Today, Marvel is proud to unveil that legendary cartoonist Jeff Smith (BoneRASL) will lend his pen to a jaw-dropping variant cover to the sold-out first issue available exclusively at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con International!

Jeff Smith’s Rocket Raccoon #1 variant joins an array of soon to be announced merchandise that will be available exclusively on site at The Marvel Shop in Marvel’s San Diego Comic Con International booth (Booth #2329).

Briefly: Marvel has just debuted a new 1+ minute TV spot for next August’s Guardians of the Galaxy.

The video changes up the film’s music selection (Cherry Bomb instead of Hooked on a Feeling), and also delves into why Peter is so keen on saving the galaxy. We also see more combat, and a few more humorous clips of those a-holes arguing.

Guardians of the Galaxy looks like a blast, and we cannot wait to see the full feature. Take a look at the new spot below, and let us know what you think! Guardians hits theatres on August 1st.

From Marvel, the studio that brought you the global blockbuster franchise of Iron Man, Thor, Captain America and The Avengers, comes a new team–the Guardians of the Galaxy. An action-packed, epic space adventure, Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy expands the Marvel Cinematic Universe into the cosmos, where brash adventurer Peter Quill finds himself the object of an unrelenting bounty hunt after stealing a mysterious orb coveted by Ronan, a powerful villain with ambitions that threaten the entire universe. To evade the ever-persistent Ronan, Quill is forced into an uneasy truce with a quartet of disparate misfits -Rocket, a gun-toting raccoon, Groot, a tree-like humanoid, the deadly and enigmatic Gamora and the revenge-driven Drax the Destroyer. But when Peter discovers the true power of the orb and the menace it poses to the cosmos, he must do his best to rally his ragtag rivals for a last, desperate stand–with the galaxy’s fate in the balance.

Briefly: Marvel has just released a brand new trailer for Guardians of the Galaxy, and it’s definitely the best one yet.

The new trailer takes us far deeper into the characters (and what they’re about to face) than we’ve seen so far. We get a look at Star Lord’s past, Rocket gets a few more lines, and Groot… well, says “I am Groot” in another location. It’s awesome.

It’s also pretty much all new footage, so there’s that. If you’re trying to avoid spoiling much in the film, stay away from this one. In any case, August can’t come soon enough. Take a look at the new trailer below, and let us know what you think!

Briefly: It’s been nearly two weeks since director Edgar Wright left Ant-Man over creative differences with Marvel, and the studio has now announced his replacement.

It seems as though it was tough for Marvel to find a director to take over the project, as a myriad of names apparently declined, but we now have a yes man in Yes Man director Peyton Reed. Here’s the announcement from Marvel:

When Marvel’s “Ant-Man” hits theaters July 17, 2015, director Peyton Reed will help shepherd the hero into the Marvel Cinematic Universe with a cast led by Paul Rudd and Michael Douglas, with writer Adam McKay contributing to the film’s script.

So apparently all this chaos still hasn’t changed the film’s release date, and the script will also received further rewrites by Step Brothers writer Adam McKay.

A new synopsis for the film also hit the web today, so take a look at that below, and let us know what you think of the announcement.

Armed with the astonishing ability to shrink in scale but increase in strength, con-man Scott Lang (Rudd) must embrace his inner-hero and help his mentor, Dr. Hank Pym (Douglas), protect the secret behind his spectacular Ant-Man suit from a new generation of towering threats. Against seemingly insurmountable obstacles, Pym and Lang must plan and pull off a heist that will save the world.

ant-man-movie-logo

Briefly: Despite still not having an Ant-Man director after Edgar Wright’s shocking departure last month, Marvel may have found its Doctor Strange helmer in Insidious director Scott Derrickson.

Variety reports that talks are still early, but a deal is expected to be announced soon. Derrickson pretty much confirmed things himself with this tweet earlier this afternoon:

Do you think Derrickson is a good choice for the project? Is there anyone else you’d rather see in the director’s chair? Sound out below! Doctor Strange is still without a release date, but we’ll be sure to let you know as soon as more information is revealed!

Strange

Briefly: We got our first peek at Thanos in the mid-credits scene of last year’s The Avengers, and it appears as though we’re about to see a lot more of the character (especially if Del Toro’s The Collector is assembling the Infinity Gauntlet).

Latino-Review broke the news, which was later confirmed by Variety, that Josh Brolin will join the Marvel cinematic universe as Thanos. Like Rocket Racoon and Groot, it’ll likely be a voice-only performance, but he’s set to appear in (at least) both Guardians of the Galaxy and The Avengers: Age of Ultron.

What do you think of the casting choice? Is there another actor you’d rather have seen in the role? Sound out below, and we’ll be sure to keep you updated as we learn more.

Brolin

Last night I was able to attend a sneak preview of Discovery Time Square’s newest exhibit, Avengers S.T.A.T.I.O.N. Discovery teamed up with NASA to add an educational feel to the mix and give real world explanations on how things function, like what happens to Bruce Banner’s brain when it transforms into the Hulk, or Captain America’s nervous system while defrosting.

IMG_20140529_200650

The event started off with some keynote speakers, including Marvel’s Senior Editor Nick Lowe and NASA’s Head of Science John M. Grunsfeld, all explaining what we’d expect to see and stressing that this was a preview event. Actually, I heard that a lot before walking into the exhibit, which is weird since the following morning was supposed to be the grand opening. When Nick Lowe mentioned thanking comic book fans, maybe 5 people cheered, and then he proceeded to get heckled by some woman up front just kinda shouting out JACK KIRBY!

First, you should know crews were still working to finish the exhibit. That meant that I wasn’t able to experience the full exhibit because most of the electronics still down and based on the “blacked out” areas a lot of carpentry was still not completed. There were some museum employees dressed as S.H.I.E.L.D. agents and employees of the company behind the tech of the exhibit, but they were in regular clothes and so i couldn’t tell who to ask questions about certain stations. So in theory i can only report to you what they told me it would do, according to whatever employee i found wondering aimlessly through out the exhibit.

Once everything is up and running, the tour starts off by you getting your own personalized S.H.I.E.L.D.  badge. You can scan your picture, enter some basic info, and you use this to access the different stations at the exhibit. Which was a problem, since they gave no one any ID’s so unless there was an employee in the room to scan a temp ID, you couldn’t access any of the stations. Upon entering the exhibit you are lead 30 at a time, into a white room by some S.H.I.E.L.D. agents, you’re scanned, and you receive a message from Agent Blake (Titus Welliver) asking for you help.

You then enter the Avengers briefing room, where you are given a rundown of what’s happened in the Marvel universe up to the point of the Avengers movie. The volume was really low in this room so i couldn’t exactly hear what was said, but from here on out you just sort of free roam into the the other labs. I have the feeling that this will be a somewhat guided tour to get people to move along and not hog up the different interactive elements of the exhibit. In between the briefing room and the next room is an array of customs from the b-squad of the avengers, Phil Colson, Maria Hill, Hawkeye, Black Widow, and Nick Fury.

The second room is an SSR exhibit showcasing Captain America. In this room you are shown the biological changes Cap went through while being defrosted and you can also compare your strength and agility on various workstations.  This room also contain various movie props like the Vita-Ray chamber, Cap’s current and retro suits, and shields.

The third room is the S.H.I.E.L.D. Bio-lab, and here you get to examine the science behind the Hulk. Since the main draws in this room were barely working, I was told that you get to stand in front of the Incredible Hulk and he mimics your movement. Some key moves that triggers some vibrations and loud noises are the Hulk’s clap and wall punch. Sounds cool. The other key thing in this room is the Tessaract machine that was on top of Stark Tower. I was told that you get to scan your hand print and it activates the machine, causing loud noises and the room to shake, but you know, it wasn’t working. The only thing working was seeing how Dr. Bruce Banner’s mind alters once he starts transforming into the Hulk.

The next area is a hallway labeled as the SECURE CONTAINMENT ROOM, this is the only area in the exhibit where nothing was down. It consisted of props of the villains including Hydra, Chitauri, Red Skull and Loki suits and weapon such as Loki’s sceptor.

By this point I was getting kind of disappointed that nothing was really working. Things started to look less and less finished by this point and pieces were “blacked out” and walled off. I only mention this because the official opening was in less than 24 hours and that didn’t seem like something feasible.

The next room was Thor’s room, and NOTHING was working here. Thor’s costume was on display, the light shinning on it was still working. There was supposed to be  holographic representation of Mjolnir, and I’m sure it would have looked cool. There are other areas to see here but there was no employee around to tell me what they were supposed to do.

Now onto what i am sure should be the pièce de résistance, which it was not. This could be described as Tony Stark’s workshop, and like a true workshop things are roped off and not fully working. I don’t think the floor was even fully finished, since I saw multiple people tripping over part of the Arc Reactor. The only thing visible was Iron Man’s suite, but it was roped off and you had to be 20 feet away. There was some neuroscan station, but again no employee was around to explain anything to me, nor scan an ID card.

The last room, of course, is a gift shop.

Overall, I think that this will be a solid Marvel’s Avengers exhibit. It is unfortunate that nothing was properly running while i was there, but if it does what they say it will, I expect this exhibit to be packed. The layout of the place is very stunning and cool and clean just how you would expect a S.H.I.E.L.D. lab to look. I overheard an employee say that this was built in a sound stage out in Hollywood and brought over in trailers. There were signs stating this exhibit was opening the next day, but honestly nothing seemed ready and I don’t see how it could be fully functioning anytime soon. i would suggest people wait a month or two before dropping any kind of money on this. On my way out i was given a  free pass to return, so hopefully i can see it in all its working glory!

Take a look at the photos I took at the exhibit below, and let us know if you’ll be headed there yourself!

Briefly: Since X-Men: Days of Future Past hit theatres on Friday, essentially erasing and re-writing the X-Men film franchise, we’ve all been wondering whether or not Days was a swan song for the original X-Men cast, or if we’d be seeing them again in the next film, X-Men: Apocalypse (which Jon and Ian discuss at length, along with the rest of DoFP in the latest podcast).

In an interview with The Daily Beast, screenwriter and producer Simon Kinberg, he states that Apocalypse “will focus primarily on the First Class cast, but it will certainly have some of the original cast involved, too.”

It’s not much, but it’s something! Who would you like to see in the film? X-Men: Apocalypse hits theatres on May 26th, 2016!

I’d take a look at the full interview too, it’s pretty great.

Just released from Marvel Studios, Edgar Wright will no longer be working on the film adaptation of Ant Man.

Marvel and Edgar Wright jointly announced today that the studio and director have parted ways on Ant-Man due to differences in their vision of the film. The decision to move on is amicable and does not impact the release date on July 17, 2015. A new director will be announced shortly.

This is fairly surprising as Edgar Wright has been on board with this film since it was first conceived way back in 2010, and was even onstage at SDCC 2012 to show off their first test footage of the film.

It would be very interesting to find out what exactly was the hang up between Wright and Marvel. All we know is we’re just gonna grab a pint at the Winchester and wait for this all to blow over.

Briefly: Marvel is already having a great year, but they’re not even close to being done with us (or our wallets) yet. Sure, we’ve got the fantastic-looking Guardians of the Galaxy hitting theatres this August, but Marvel and Disney have also teamed up to create the first Marvel animated feature from Disney: Big Hero 6.

You can take a look at the trailer below, and let us know if you’re looking forward to the film!

Briefly: They’ve been teasing it all week, and now it’s finally here: the newest trailer for Guardians of the Galaxy.

The new preview shows off a ton of new action, and also lets us hear Bradley Cooper’s Rocket and Vin Diesel’s Groot for the first time. It doesn’t dig too deep into the film’s plot, but its pretty clear that the universe views the group as a band of criminals (and A-holes), and that they’re going to fight something sinister.

You can take a look at the new trailer below, and be sure to let us know what you hope to see when Guardians of the Galaxy hits theatres on August 1st!

But when Peter discovers the true power of the orb and the menace it poses to the cosmos, he must do his best to rally his ragtag rivals for a last, desperate stand–with the galaxy’s fate in the balance.

Briefly: Following the teaser art and synopsis for the series released just last week, Marvel has just debuted an interview with series star Hayley Atwell, who talks of her hopes for the series’ first season, while also confirming that said season will run for eight episodes.

In the series “It’s 1946, and peace has dealt Peggy Carter a serious blow as she finds herself marginalized when the men return home from fighting abroad. Working for the covert SSR (Strategic Scientific Reserve), Peggy must balance doing administrative work and going on secret missions for Howard Stark all while trying to navigate life as a single woman in America, in the wake of losing the love of her life–Steve Rogers. Inspired by the feature films “Captain America: The First Avenger” and “Captain America: The Winter Soldier,” along with the short “Marvel One-Shot: Agent Carter.”

You can listen to Hayley’s insight via the interview below. Are you looking forward to the series? What do you hope to see when it premieres? Sound out below!

Briefly: With just one week remaining until the film’s release. Fox has just debuted a new featurette for their highly anticipated X-Men: Days of Future Past.

The video is titled ‘Extinction’ and features the cast chatting about what’ll happen if they don’t succeed in their newest mission. It also features some great looking new footage… which I almost wish that I hadn’t seen as we’ve pretty much seen the whole movie by now.

Take a look at the featurette below, and let us know what you think! X-Men: Days of Future Past hits theatres on May 23rd!

Briefly: With just two more weeks of waiting until X-Men: Days of Future Past hits theatres, Fox is really ramping up the marketing for the film.

Today, the studio released a new ‘Quicksilver Power Piece’ clip, which is a mashup of a ton of impressive new Quicksilver footage. He still looks pretty lame (in my opinion), but definitely fares better in motion than in still photos.

Take a look at the (spoilery) footage below, and let us know if you’re excited for the film. X-Men: Days of Future Past hits theatres on May 23rd!

The ultimate X-Men ensemble fights a war for the survival of the species across two time periods in X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST. The beloved characters from the original “X-Men” film trilogy join forces with their younger selves from “X-Men: First Class,” in an epic battle that must change the past – to save our future.
