Marvel Knights Animation has been putting out some incredible content lately. Their motion comics truly are works of art, and Wolverine Weapon X: Tomorrow Dies Today is something to behold. Check out the trailer below!

The future is controlled by a malevolent mega-corporation known as Roxxon — which keeps its tight grip on society through the use of cyborgs, the Deathloks, whose sole purpose is to seek out current and future vigilantes — and neutralize them with extreme prejudice. Now, in order to prevent Roxxon’s rise and the eventual slaughter of the world’s heroes, Wolverine must join forces with a mysterious woman possessing unexplained knowledge of the coming dystopia. He won’t give up until the Deathloks are stopped, but what hope is there to prevent a future that has already come to pass?

The DVD boasts a behind the scenes featurette that goes inside the creation process of a Marvel Knights animation.

You can snag  Wolverine Weapon X: Tomorrow Dies Today on DVD only at Shout! Factory on May 13th!

Briefly: An awesome new Marvel exhibit is set to open in New York on May 23rd, and we’ve got some of the first pieces of concept art!

Marvel’s Avengers S.T.A.T.I.O.N. is a completely immersive, interactive exhibit experience that brings visitors into the world of The Avengers. Leading EdTech innovator Gamedesk created S.T.E.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) based educational pathways for the exhibition, bringing to life the science behind Marvel Super Heroes and allows fans to participate in a simulated recruitment, as if they were being trained as agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Within the exhibition, visitors will map out the stars to find Asgard, learn to operate Iron Man’s suit, witness the neurological effects of Bruce Banner’s transformation into the Hulk, physically test themselves against Captain America, and receive access to some of S.H.I.E.L.D.’s most highly guarded artifacts recovered after the Battle of New York such as Captain America’s Birth Pod, the Tesseract Portal Device, Loki’s Scepter, a hermetically sealed Chitauri and more.

The exhibit looks (and sounds) absolutely awesome, and we can’t wait to see video from the exhibit (since we’re not in New York to attend it ourselves). Take a look at the concept art below, and let us know if you’ll be checking it out!

Ian Kerner wasn’t shy about his dislike of The Amazing Spider-Man… in fact, I don’t think either of us were. So what drew us back to the theaters for The Amazing Spider-Man 2, a movie that has received the worst reviews of any movie in the Spider-Man franchise? Well, it’s Spider-Man, that’s why! But could we be surprised by the outcome? Is it possible that we will dislike this movie more than the last… or could it possibly surprise us? Prepare yourself for one of the most surprising and insightful Geekscape episodes yet!

From Marvel, the studio that brought you the global blockbuster franchise of Iron Man, Thor, Captain America and The Avengers, comes a new team–the Guardians of the Galaxy. An action-packed, epic space adventure, Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy expands the Marvel Cinematic Universe into the cosmos, where brash adventurer Peter Quill finds himself the object of an unrelenting bounty hunt after stealing a mysterious orb coveted by Ronan, a powerful villain with ambitions that threaten the entire universe. To evade the ever-persistent Ronan, Quill is forced into an uneasy truce with a quartet of disparate misfits -Rocket, a gun-toting raccoon, Groot, a tree-like humanoid, the deadly and enigmatic Gamora and the revenge-driven Drax the Destroyer. But when Peter discovers the true power of the orb and the menace it poses to the cosmos, he must do his best to rally his ragtag rivals for a last, desperate stand–with the galaxy’s fate in the balance.

Briefly: Mondo has just announced a new show with some fantastic artwork by Mike Mitchell.

The show will run from April 25th through May 17th, and will feature a multitude of Mitchell’s iconic portraits. Characters from The Avengers, X-Men and Spider-man will be represented along with many others from Marvel’s incredible library.

Mitchell said that “My love for Marvel Comics was an integral part of growing up. Not just the comics, but the action figures, video games and cartoons. My intention with this show was to take those characters out of their action-oriented world and give them a moment of silence to catch their breath. There’s a humanizing quality to that which I find extremely interesting. This has easily been the most ambitious project I’ve ever taken on, and it’s due in part to my love for their universe; which is fictional by definition, but real in my mind and in the minds of others.”

Take a look at just a few of the show’s portraits below (plus the giant MODOK outside the showroom), and let us know if you’ll be checking it out in person!

Briefly: EW today debuted a new look at Evan Peter’s Quicksilver in next month’s X-Men: Days of Future Past.

The character’s design has been largely criticized since its debut, but (to me, anyways) he certainly looks better in action than while posing. The scene is apparently one of Peters’ only in the film, as writer/producer Simon Kinberg explains that it “is the bulk of Quicksilver’s presence in this film. They need somebody who can help them get in and out of somewhere. And the idea is that Logan knew him in the future and so they go to try to find his younger self.”

Take a look at the still below, and be sure to let us know if you’re looking forward to X-Men: Days of Future Past. Be sure to look for the film’s final trailer on April 15th.

Briefly: The upcoming Fantastic Four reboot’s controversial cast was revealed back in February, announcing our new heroes, but leaving out our new villain (both in character and actor).

According to Variety, The East and Dawn of the Planet of the Apes star Toby Kebbell is in negotiations to play Doctor Doom in the upcoming film. I’m sure that most of us had guessed that Doctor Doom would be the film’s antagonist, and… it looks like we were right and that Fox isn’t taking any more chances with the film.

Months of speculation have gone to waste as Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has exited the DC cinematic universe to join the widely successful Marvel Cinematic Universe. In an off-handed comment made earlier today, The Rock blamed DC for “moving too slow” and “not knowing what the fuck they were doing” in regards to setting up their much anticipated cinematic crossovers. “It just got to this point where no one could smell what The Rock was cooking.” You can find the full statement below:

Over the past several years, I’ve grown with you all into loving what Marvel has done on the big screen. After being invited to watch a private screening of Captain America: The Winter Soldier, I was blown away yet again. So I’m excited to announce that I will be entering the Marvel Cinematic Universe as M.O.D.O.K. in the third Captain American film. It’s great to be a part of something larger, especially when this something is the driving force behind super hero films.

Johnson will be joining the cinematic universe as M.O.D.O.K., and is said to be the main villain in the third installment of Captain America. May 2016 couldn’t come sooner!

Briefly: We’re just over a month away from the release of Bryan Singer’s X-Men: Days of Future Past, and Fox has just debuted the film’s first TV spot.

The video features some footage that we haven’t seen before (mixed, of course, with footage that we have, like last week’s awesome new trailer), and does a great job of reminding us that this is a merger of the characters that we knew and loved in the first films, as well as everything that was fantastic about X-Men: Days of Future Past.

It’s probably going to rock (probably), and we can’t wait. Take a look at the spot below, and let us know what you think. X-Men: Days of Future Past hits theatres on May 23rd!

Briefly: Following that new still from a week back (and the trailer teaser from a few days ago), Fox has finally debuted a second trailer for May’s X-Men: Days of Future Past.

This trailer shows much more than the ‘cast recap’ trailer that we saw back in October, and it features some absolutely gorgeous shots and reveals. I don’t want to spoil things, so just take a look at the video below, and let us know what you think. X-Men: Days of Future Past hits theatres on May 23rd!

It’s been a while since comic book writer Tom Pinchuk has been on Geekscape! Luckily, we correct that oversight in this episode in which Tom drops by to talk to us about his new comic book Max Steel: Haywire, coming soon from Viz Media! Tom also educates us on the differences in some of the various conventions as Con Season starts up and also about the cultural and narrative differences between Manga and traditional US comic books! Also, when is a character’s internal dialogue too much…?

Briefly: Sure, the Transformers: Age of Extinction IMAX poster was pretty cool, but the just released IMAX one-sheet for Captain America: The Winter Soldier is freaking gorgeous.

Take a look at the poster below, and if you missed it, watch the first 10 minutes of the movie here. Excited? You should be! Captain America: The Winter Soldier hits theatres on April 4th!

CapIMAX

After the cataclysmic events in New York with The Avengers, Marvel’s Captain America: The Winter Soldier finds Steve Rogers – aka Captain America – living quietly in Washington, DC, and trying to adjust to the modern world. But when a S.H.I.E.L.D. colleague comes under attack, Steve becomes embroiled in a web of intrigue that threatens to put the world at risk. Joining forces with the Black Widow, Captain America struggles to expose the ever-widening conspiracy while fighting off professional assassins sent to silence him at every turn. When the full scope of the villainous plot is revealed, Captain America and the Black Widow enlist the help of a new ally, the Falcon. However, they soon find themselves up against an unexpected and formidable enemy – the Winter Soldier.

Briefly: I’m going to avoid as many spoilers as possible before seeing the film, so I haven’t watched the video below, but alas, Marvel has released the first 10 minutes of Captain America: The Winter Soldier online for your viewing pleasure.

You can take a look at the video below, and let us know what you think! I can’t wait to see it when the film hits theatres on April 4th!

The film (finally) launches on April 4th, and from every piece of promotion we’ve seen so far, it looks insanely entertaining. The Winter Soldier is probably the phase three film that I’m most looking forward to.

You can take a look at the featurette below, and be sure to let us know what you hope to see in the full film. Just a few more weeks of waiting to go!

Briefly: TotalFilm today debuted a brand-new still from May’s highly anticipated X-Men: Days of Future Past. The still features a young Magneto pointing a gun at something offscreen, while Wolverine and Beast look, well, uncomfortable.

Also, the BBFC has rated a second trailer for the film, with a running time of two minutes, twenty eight seconds, so I imagine we’ll see that online in the coming days. Take a look at the still below, and we’ll be sure to share the new trailer as soon as it’s available.

Just over one week ago, Geekscape TV brought you Lou Ferrigno playing Flappy Bird, and now we’re back with a fantastic conversation with the man that moulded many of our childhood memories, Stan Lee.

A few days back, Jonathan sat down with Stan to film an interview for our new YouTube channel, GeekscapeTV. Geekscape TV is a serious reimagining of our old YouTube channel (it is a different channel, so be sure to subscribe to the new one), and one that we intend to fill to the brim with original, awesome content (like the first trailer for Hero of the Prophecy, the just-remastered HD cut of Gay By Dawn, a hilarious Miami Vice spoof, and so on).

The interview features plenty of great Marvel vs. DC banter, and Stan even reveals the secret to why the Marvel movies have been so successful!

Briefly: I’ve been a subscriber and fan of Marvel Unlimited since the service’s iPad app was released just under a year ago. The app (on both iPad and Android) still leaves a lot to be desired (it’s slow, zooming kinda sucks, and it only lets you store 12 issues for offline reading), but the service as a whole is excellent, and definitely worth the $69/year asking price (or $99 for the plus option).

In celebration of SXSW (at which the Geekscape co-produced Doc of the Dead will be premiering), Marvel is letting new users (and cancelled subscriptions) check out the service for one month, for just $.99. This means that for less than a buck, you’ll have access to Unlimited’s expansive catalog (well over 15,000 issues) on your computer, Android or iPhone, and Android Tablet or iPad. It’s awesome, and it’s addicting, and you’ll definitely want to keep your subscription going after the month is over.

You can take a look at the full release below for more info, and be sure to let us know if you’ll be partaking in this awesome opportunity.

Marvel is celebrating SXSW Interactive 2014 by offering fans access to nearly 15,000 of Marvel’s greatest comics- including the top-selling Age of Ultron event, all the first issues from the game-changing Marvel NOW! initiative and more– for an entire month via the ground-breaking Marvel Unlimited app…for only 99 cents! Fans can access some of the most important stories in pop culture history while online, and take twelve digital comics with them on the go, even when offline!

Not only is this the most comics ever offered by Marvel – or any comics company – at this price point, but the Marvel Unlimited library offers more digital comics than any other major comic book company.

Accessible through your desktop browser and the Marvel Unlimited mobile app – Marvel Unlimited is a member subscription service that gives members unlimited access to over 15,000 issues of Marvel’s classic and newer titles. More classic and newer issues are added every week – as early as six months after they’re in stores!
