Quarantine continues in the face of the Corona Virus Pandemic… but that’s not enough to stop Ian Kerner! In this episode, Ian checks in to talk about the state of the comics industry, if COVID 19 will be the end of local comic book shops as we know them and if Marvel and DC Comics can weather the storm. We also discuss the sliding Marvel slate and what this means for blockbuster films getting greenlit in the future! When will Hollywood get back to normal… if ever? Along the way, we espouse the wonders of ‘Onward’, let you know if ‘Bloodshot’ is worth a shot and I go to bat for Ben Affleck in ‘The Way Back’! And the question is raised after Ian gives us some concerning information… was Ian infected with the Corona Virus?

You guys are officially spoiled! Two Ian Kerner wrap up Specials in two weeks on top of the main podcast! And if you haven’t seen ‘Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice’ yet… you definitely will be spoiled as there are SPOILERS EVERYWHERE! This is the most controversial comic book film in recent memory and to wade through the ashes of this past weekend’s enormous opening, Ian Kerner and I take the movie on piece by piece! It’s not always pretty but you might just learn a lot (or even change your opinions on the film)! What was good? What made sense? What had us scratching our heads? It’s all here so sit back and enjoy!

It’s time! Captain America: The Winter Soldier has arrived so it’s time for Ian Kerner to tell us everything there is to know about both the movie and the comic book origins! Is this the strongest Marvel movie yet? How faithful did they stick to the source material and where might things go from here? And do the events of the film mean you should go back to watching Agents of SHIELD? And can Ian convince me that all of the monologuing in the movie is justified? Just know one thing… THERE WILL BE SPOILERS!

Every time Ian Kerner guests on a new Geekscape episode, it’s like a major event… just like the release of ‘The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug’! Ian and I sit down, break down Peter Jackson’s second film in The Hobbit trilogy and how it just feels good to be back among old (and new friends) in Middle Earth! Spoilers abound, obviously, as we get right to the thick of it, just like journeying into the wilds of Mirkwood! Also, we get Ian’s take on Sony’s announcement of ‘Venom’ and ‘Sinister Six’ films and we also talk about the Wachowski’s ‘Jupiter Ascending’ and Tom Cruise in ‘Edge of Tomorrow’!

This is it! Geekscape 300! Joining us for this super-sized Geekscape spectacular is Clerks star Marilyn Ghigiotti, who not only brings us lasagna (which made my head explode), but also catches us up on her post-Clerks work and talks about the process of finding out she’s going to be in ‘Clerks 3’! Gilmore, Ben Dunn and Ian Kerner appear to reenact the first Geekscape! Witney Siebold and Jason Trost talk ‘Elysium’, with Ian Kerner and Jon Schnepp (who gives us an updated on ‘The Death of Superman Lives’ documentary)! Stan Lee’s Comikaze organizer Regina Carpinelli previews what’s in store for this year’s Comikaze and Geekscape writers Juan Carlos Marquez and Josh Jackson tell us why ‘Pikmin 3’ is definitely worth picking up! PLUS! ‘Airwolf’ comic writer David Gorden calls in along with longtime Geekscape writers Jacob Lopez, Shane O’Hare, Matt Kelly and Derek Kraneveldt! JUAN CARLOS!!!

This is it, the best breakdown of ‘The Wolverine’ that you’re going to get from the best source around. X-Pert Ian Kerner cuts through The Wolverine and dissects what works and doesn’t work in this fun entry in the X-Men saga. Did they have to deviate from the comics? How did the movie have more in common with the X-Men storyline than the Claremont and Miller mini-series? Were the Silver Samurai or Viper depictions up to snuff? How does The Wolverine fit in and rank with the rest of the X-Men films? What’s coming up in Days of Future Past? Here are all the answers, in complete Ian Kerner glory!

Ian Kerner sat in Hall H today and in this episode breaks down all of the amazing things that he saw, from Superman to Godzilla to 13 minutes of The Hobbit! Ian did not see Marvel’s announcements at the time of this recording but you can find our breakdown here!

The Avengers is out and it’s time to get serious! Ian Kerner makes his triumphant return to Geekscape as he goes toe to toe with me on what he thought about “The Avengers”! We’ve both seen the movie twice and if there’s one person who knows The Avengers comic and movie universe inside and out, it’s Ian. I try desperately to play devil’s advocate but Ian just won’t have it. He explains to us the significance of all the little details in the movie, where he thinks the Marvel movie universe is headed from here and the ONE thing that bugged him in the film! It’s Assemble Time, baby!
