We brought you the leaked, official and the first extended trailer for Avengers 2: Age of Ultron. Now it looks like Marvel is getting extended trailer happy once again! Check out the NEWEST Age of Ultron trailer!

Avengers: Age of Ultron hits theatres on May 1st, 2015.

Briefly: We all received a fantastic treat late last week when the first trailer for Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron leaked online, DAYS before it’s scheduled launch on last night’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Marvel blamed it on Hydra, which was a hilarious and lighthearted way of looking at the leak. Not wanting to leave any of us S.H.I.E.L.D. fans hanging, the studio attached a special look at the film on last night’s episode. If you we’re lucky enough to be in Hall H at SDCC this past Summer, than it’s nothing new for you, but it’s exciting to see the scene online and official.

It’s also fantastic to see the look on Thor’s face when Cap almost lifts the hammer, and now we can see it over and over and over again. The rest of the video is pretty much the trailer we’ve already seen, but I’m not going to say no to watching that one again. Take a look at the video below, and let us know if you’re excited!

Avengers: Age of Ultron hits theatres on May 1st, 2015.

Briefly: These are some exciting times for comic book movies. Marvel has decided to answer DC’s move of announcing all of their upcoming films through the year 2020 with their own long term announcements for Phase 3 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Here’s what’s been announced, as well as the release dates:

list of movies

Chadwick Boseman was also announced as playing the lead, Black Panther. Here’s a concept shot of the bad-ass costume:

Kevin Feige announced that this will be a Carol Danvers Captain Marvel, so definitely an answer to the Wonder Woman movie.

Yep, Avengers: Infinity War will be split into TWO parts. This is going to be HUGE!

I am super excited for these films and the introduction of these new characters into the MCU!

So, let the fantasy casting begin! Who do you think should play your favorite Marvel characters? Let us know in the comments section below!

LITERALLY NONE OF THESE WORDS MATTER. THESE ARE JUST WORDS. WHAT YOU WANT IS BELOW. But play along, please?

Earlier tonight the the much-anticipated Avengers: Age of Ultron trailer was leaked online. It was supposed to air during next week’s Mavel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. But because this is 2014, of course it didn’t! After a pretty amusing, self-deprecating tweet, Marvel has decided “eff it, let’s just do it.” The trailer is now on their official YouTube page, in crystal clear high-definition.

The trailer has all the neat stuff I kept hearing about from San Diego Comic-Con this summer. The Hulkbuster, an Avengers party, Ultron himself. It’s all really neat.

My favorite part, though, is what James Spader’s Ultron (and it’s so unmistakably him) says in the trailer: “You want to protect the world. But you don’t want it to change.” There is an ongoing, neverending debate that I love getting into about the true nature of superheroes. As protectors of the status-quo, what is their role when the world needs changing? Not that I expect Age of Ultron to be political in any shape or form, but the movie (I hope) will continue to change the superhero genre and begin to ask questions we, the dedicated superhero nerds who hold up this art to a higher level than most, might be uncomfortable to answer.

The Avengers: Age of Ultron will be released in 2015 and it will make so much money.

Briefly: Captain America: The Winter Soldier is less than a month away from Blu-Ray, and Marvel has just officially debuted two deleted scenes from the release.

Cap 2 was a great watch when it hit theatres back in April, and I’m really looking forward to checking it out again. The Blu-Ray will hit stores on September 9th, and will include, Making-of Featurettes, Audio Commentary, Never-Before-Seen Deleted Scenes, Bloopers, And More…

Take a look at the scenes below, and let us know what you think!

After the cataclysmic events in New York with The Avengers, Marvel’s Captain America: The Winter Soldier finds Steve Rogers – aka Captain America – living quietly in Washington, DC, and trying to adjust to the modern world. But when a S.H.I.E.L.D. colleague comes under attack, Steve becomes embroiled in a web of intrigue that threatens to put the world at risk. Joining forces with the Black Widow, Captain America struggles to expose the ever-widening conspiracy while fighting off professional assassins sent to silence him at every turn. When the full scope of the villainous plot is revealed, Captain America and the Black Widow enlist the help of a new ally, the Falcon. However, they soon find themselves up against an unexpected and formidable enemy – the Winter Soldier.

Fast on the heels of the announcement that the new wielder of Mjolnir will be a woman, Marvel announced on the Colbert Report last night that the new comic book series “All New Captain America” will feature Sam Wilson–the character also known as Falcon–as Captain America, marking the first time a black character has taken on that persona.

This adds some much needed diversity to Marvel’s line-up, as Marvel’s Nick Fury from the Avengers is the only other notable character of color (though, outside the Marvel universe, the upcoming Fantastic Four reboot does have Johnny B. Storm being played by African-American actor Michael B Jordan).

Sam Wilson as Captain America in the upcoming comics.
Sam Wilson as Captain America in the upcoming comics.

Steve Rogers, the original Captain America, will remain in the comics as Sam Wilson’s mentor. Rogers was stripped of his power–and became an aged, frail man–when a long-time enemy drained the serum from him. Rogers passes the shield to Wilson.

“This is the fireworks factory we’re arriving at, and now everything’s going to blow up and be very pretty and exciting to look at,” said Rick Remender, writer of the new comic book series. “I’ve been having a lot of fun writing Sam. It’s a completely different attitude. The fact that he’s not a soldier shifts things up a bit. Sam’s not going to be Steve. Steve can be very rigid. That can be kind of joyless at times, whereas Sam is absolutely not that.”

Falcon, played by Anthony Mackie, was a pivotal character in this year’s Captain America: The Winter Soldier. The character was first introduced into the comics in 1969.

You can view the full announcement on The Colbert Report  here.

What do you guys think of Sam Wilson as Captain America? Let us know in the comments!

This time, Tim and Sax record their review immediately after seeing Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier while still inside the theater!  You actually hear the boys get kicked out of the Cinerama Dome in Hollywood.  The review is full of spoilers, but you probably know them all by now anyway. In addition, Robot Cowboy presents an Audio Comics dramatization of the legendary Avengers #4, which literally thaws Captain America out after World War 2 and brings him in to present day Marvel continuity.  Tell your friends.

Briefly: Sure, the Transformers: Age of Extinction IMAX poster was pretty cool, but the just released IMAX one-sheet for Captain America: The Winter Soldier is freaking gorgeous.

Take a look at the poster below, and if you missed it, watch the first 10 minutes of the movie here. Excited? You should be! Captain America: The Winter Soldier hits theatres on April 4th!

You can take a look at the video below, and let us know what you think! I can’t wait to see it when the film hits theatres on April 4th!

Briefly: We’ve seen him in the trailers, but Marvel has just launched a brand-new featurette for Captain America: The Winter Soldier that lets Anthony Mackie’s Sam Wilson / The Falcon take centre stage.

The film (finally) launches on April 4th, and from every piece of promotion we’ve seen so far, it looks insanely entertaining. The Winter Soldier is probably the phase three film that I’m most looking forward to.

You can take a look at the featurette below, and be sure to let us know what you hope to see in the full film. Just a few more weeks of waiting to go!

Briefly: Well, the Super Bowl is over. The game was miserable (well, for Broncos fans at least), but the commercials, trailers, and TV spots were great.

During the game, Marvel debuted a brand-new TV spot for the film, and subsequently released an awesome new trailer online. This Winter Soldier-focussed preview may be one of the best Marvel trailers that I’ve seen in quite some time. Seriously, it’s awesome!

Take a look at both the spot and trailer below, and let us know how much you’re looking forward to the film. Captain America: The Winter Soldier hits theatres on April 4th!

Briefly: Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. hasn’t even premiered yet, and it would appear that Disney is already hard at work on the next Marvel TV project.

Deadline has reported that Disney is in the early stages of developing a series based on Agent Carter, a one-shot short film that premiered at Comic-Con, and is set for wide release with the Iron Man 3 Blu-Ray.

According to the site, the project is very early in development, and is currently looking for a writer. It’s unknown whether the wonderful Hayley Atwell would reprise her role as Peggy Carter if the series actually comes to fruition (I sure hope so).

Would you be interested in a series based on the character? Are you looking forward to the S.H.I.E.L.D. premiere next week? Didn’t Iron Man 3 stink? Sound out below!

Warning: The following review contains spoilers!

Marvel Knights’ new release, Ultimate Wolverine Vs. Hulk, based on the comic series of the same name, is a highly entertaining variation of the storyline. Writer Damon Lindelof (Lost, Star Trek: Into Darkness) brings the plot to film with the help of artist Leinil Francis Yu (Secret Invasion) and colorist Dave McCaig.

The story is simple. The Hulk was sentenced to death for murdering over 600 people, 60+ of them being children, so Nick Fury and S.H.I.E.L.D. killed him with a nuclear bomb. The problem is, it turns out that’s not enough to kill Hulk. Fury then enlists Wolverine to find Bruce Banner and kill him.

The catch? There’s a little bit more going on behind the scenes, as usual with S.H.I.E.L.D. The Hulk’s ex, a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent, just might still be in love with him, and her coworker may have just solved the problem with Banner’s Hulk Formula.

http://youtu.be/CThLutcEr-M

As Wolverine tries to track him down, the storyline jumps from him to Fury to Hulk/Banner’s points of view, which at times can begin to get a little frustrating. And the episode that focuses on Banner’s travels and struggles with anger is a bit slow-moving. Other than that, the film is fun. The addition of humor to the storyline really helped, with small quips and jokes that are reminiscent of The Avengers. If for no other reason, it’s worth watching just to find out the answer to the age-old joke, “What does Wolverine do to get through the metal detectors at the airport?”

And if that’s not enough, no matter how badass you thought Wolverine was in the past, the opening of this film will prove you wrong when he is torn in half by Hulk and crawls four miles to the top of a mountain to get back his legs. Intense!

Ultimate Hulk vs. Wolverine incorporates a few other fan-favorites, such as Tony Stark, Captain America and a certain female who is large an green as well. The references to pop culture and films (Star Wars, for example) add some fun to the storyline.

This is part of a series of comic adaptations Shout! Factory and Marvel Knights has released. The only other one I’ve personally seen was Astonishing X-Men: Unstoppable, which was decent. It definitely does take some time to get used to the limited movement in the artwork, especially when compared to everyday cartoons and animated films.

Marvel Knights: Ultimate Wolverine Vs. Hulk, is available September 10th and can be preordered on Amazon. Or, you could always enter to win a copy!

Ultimate Hulk vs. Wolverine scores a worthy 4/5.

Briefly: There doesn’t seem to be a lot of news coming out this year’s D23 expo (though there’s still plenty of time to change that), but this is definitely one of the more interesting tidbits.

While we’re bound to see more Captain America at San Diego Comic-Con next week, Disney has just debuted the teaser poster for next year’s Phase Two film, Captain America: The Winter Soldier.

Being a teaser poster, the image really reveals nothing about the movie. Instead, it’s simply a cool, stylish shot of a war-torn shield, with the film’s April 4th release date underneath.

In any case, it’s an exciting taste of what’s to come. Take a look at the poster below, and look for more Captain America news when Geekscape heads to SDCC next week!

After the phenomenal thrill ride that was 2012’s The Avengers, and with Iron Man 3 hitting theatres in less than a month, you’re more than likely hankering for even more Marvel superhero content. Sadly, we’re still a whole year away from the release of Captain America: The Winter Soldier; the film just began production, and only a single (albeit cool) image has been released.

So, why not head all the way back to 1990, and check out Matt Salinger’s portrayal of Steve Rogers? Starting May 21st, Captain America: The Collector’s Edition will be available for the first time on Blu-Ray. The disc comes complete with a new HD transfer, and never-before-seen interviews with director Albert Pyun and actor Matt Salinger. If you’ve never seen the 1990 adaptation of Captain America, there has never been a better time than now.

Watch the trailer for Captain America below, and let us know what you think! You can pre-order the Blu-Ray on Amazon for the cool price of $10.99.

Long ago, Steve Rogers (Matt Salinger) was a true American hero, a brave super soldier created by scientists to help the Allied Forces fight for freedom in World War II. But during a battle with the sinister Red Skull (Scott Paulin), he was lost, entombed in ice. Decades later, his body has been found and revived and Steve must again don the mantle of Captain America to help save the President of the United States (Ronny Cox) — and the world — from his arch-nemesis once and for all.

The first film in Marvel Studios “Phase Two” hasn’t even hit theaters yet but that isn’t keeping them from getting prepared for their big conclusion. The studio will bring Earth’s Mightiest Heroes across the pond and begin shooting at Pinewood-Shepperton in early 2014, with pre-production for the film most likely get underway later this year. This isn’t the first time that Marvel has shot across seas, a good chunk of Thor: The Dark World takes place in London and James Gunn’s Guardians Of The Galaxy will be taking advantage of Shepperton Studios when filming on the movie begins in a few months. With plot details for the film being kept under wraps, it’s pretty hard to speculate just what they’re going to be filming when they travel across the pond and begin production.

The currently untitled sequel to The Avengers is set to hit theaters May 1, 2015.

Alongside the confirmation that Frank Grillo will portray the villainous Crossbones, Variety has also revealed that we will see another addition to the growing cast of Captain America: The Winter Soldier.

Samuel Jackson and Scarlett Johansson will be both be reprising their roles in the sequel with S.H.I.E.L.D. playing a major role in the film. So, this should come as no surprise that Cobie Smulders will be back as Agent Maria Hill. Her role in the sequel will most likely be minor.
