[Spoilers for Captain America: Civil War ahead]

In an interview with IGN, Hayley Atwell started quite a stir with her comments about the idea of Cap dating her character’s niece, Sharon in Captain America: Civil War. He kissed her in the new film, to which Atwell claimed “[Peggy] would be turning over in her grave.”

“…I wouldn’t want to date my great aunt’s guy. It just feels like it crosses an incestuous boundary. And Peggy just died. That’s even more disrespectful, right? It’s like, ‘don’t touch that. You can’t tap that!'”

The romance seemed to start in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, where it was eventually revealed that she was spying on him for S.H.I.E.L.D.

Atwell was probably joking around, but it did raise some questions. What do you think? We’d love to hear your thoughts on the topic in the comments.

Briefly: Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. hasn’t even premiered yet, and it would appear that Disney is already hard at work on the next Marvel TV project.

Deadline has reported that Disney is in the early stages of developing a series based on Agent Carter, a one-shot short film that premiered at Comic-Con, and is set for wide release with the Iron Man 3 Blu-Ray.

According to the site, the project is very early in development, and is currently looking for a writer. It’s unknown whether the wonderful Hayley Atwell would reprise her role as Peggy Carter if the series actually comes to fruition (I sure hope so).

Would you be interested in a series based on the character? Are you looking forward to the S.H.I.E.L.D. premiere next week? Didn’t Iron Man 3 stink? Sound out below!

Actress Hayley Atwell, who portrayed Peggy Carter in Captain America: The First Avenger, recently made a semi-cryptic statement in an interview that seemingly implied that a new Marvel: One-Shot starring the character was on the way. At the Iron Man 3 red carpet premiere last night, Marvel Studios co-President Louis D’Esposito has confirmed the rumors of, stating that he had just directed a brand new One-Shot that would focus on a strong female character.

This new short will make its debut at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con. Last year D’Esposito’s previous One-Shot Item 47 debuted off site for a select group (that I was lucky enough to be among) through viral marketing, so you may want to keep your eyes out while walking around the area. Atwell will also reprise the role for next year’s Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Keep an eye for more updates to pop up over the new few months.

Early last week a deleted scene was released online from The Avengers that revealed that Peggy Carter, played by actress Hayley Atwell, was indeed still alive in the present. Bleeding Cool recently approached Atwell at the premiere of her new film, The Sweeney. The site asked if she would be involved in the upcoming Captain America: The Winter Soldier to which the actress replied:

“I can’t say yet because it hasn’t been officially released, and Marvel are very protective of their franchise.”

Which basically just translates into “Yes, I am coming back but I am not allowed to tell you guys yet.” While her involvement could just take place in flashbacks there is definitely a chance we could see a heavily emotional scene involving Steve Rogers visiting her in the present day. This would definitely add on to the “man out of time” theme that is meant to be portrayed in the upcoming sequel and maybe Steve will finally get that dance after all these years.
