Fox today revealed the first clip for the upcoming (and highly anticipated) fifth chapter of the Die Hard trilogy franchise. The clip features who other than John McClane and a car chase, and is pretty much exactly what you’d expect (read: AWESOME).

Check out the clip below, and let us know what you think! A Good Day to Die Hard blasts its way into theatres on February 14th. It’s also a perfect Valentine’s day movie… if you’re a terrible person (or if your spouse is SUPER cool).

Iconoclastic, take-no-prisoners cop John McClane, for the first time, finds himself on foreign soil after traveling to Moscow to help his wayward son Jack – unaware that Jack is really a highly-trained CIA operative out to stop a nuclear weapons heist. With the Russian underworld in pursuit, and battling a countdown to war, the two McClanes discover that their opposing methods make them unstoppable heroes.

This is some very good news if you’re a fan of Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragonor martial arts movies in general.

Deadline has learned that a sequel to Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon is in the works, and that the film is scheduled to start shooting this May. John Fusco (The Forbidden Kingdom) has written the script for the sequel, which is (of course) based on the same series of novels that the first film was adapted from (the Crane-Iron Pentalogy by Wang Du Lu).

The film is currently without stars or a director (Ang Lee is not involved with this sequel), but Deadline reports that The Weinstein Company is in talks with Chinese director Ronny Yu. In regards to plot, Fusco told Deadline:

“This introduces a new generation of star-crossed lovers, and a new series of antagonists in a battle of good and evil. It has a Knights Errant quality. There is an alternate universe in the books, a martial forest that exists alongside the real world, full of wandering sword fighters, medicine men, defrocked priests, poets, sorcerers and Shaolin renegades. It’s so vast and rich, and I found characters from the second and third books in the series to create a most interesting stew while being as true to the source material as I could be.”

What are your thoughts on this? I (embarrassingly) haven’t actually seen the first film, so I don’t really know what to think!

If you were a comic fan, and more than a few years old in the mid-to-late 1990’s, you probably remember hearing about a little film called Superman Lives. The feature was set to be directed by (then arguably at his most popular) Tim Burton, written by Kevin Smith, and starring Nicolas Cage.

Production got to the point where filming was about to begin… and then it was gone. There have been plenty of different stories as to why, but in all honesty, nobody really knows.

Sure, it would have been weird (have you seen the leaked costume test), but that’s not to say it wouldn’t have been good. So what happened?

Nic Cage in an early screen test for 'Superman Lives'
Nic Cage in an early screen test for ‘Superman Lives’

That’s what Jon Schnepp wants to know.

If you’re a regular ‘scapist, you probably recognize that name. Jon is of course a director and producer of Adult Swim’s Metalocalypse, former editor of Space Ghost Coast to Coast, and director of the ‘W’ segment of the upcoming The ABC’s of Death. Jon is also a good friend of Geekscape, and we featured him on the podcast back in May 2012.

Today, he launched a Kickstarter for his latest project, The Death of ‘Superman Lives’: What Happened?. It’s a documentary that will explore… well, what happened to Superman Lives.

It sounds like an amazing idea, and there are of course some amazing rewards up for grabs if you help fund the film. The Death of ‘Superman Lives’ What Happened? needs to raise $98,000 in order to be produced, and if the stretch goal is reached (requiring another $50,000), select scenes from the Superman Lives script will become a reality. Wouldn’t that be cool to see?

You can check out the video for the Kickstarter below, and head here for more info and to contribute! We’ll keep you posted on any milestones this project hits!

Let’s make it happen!

Latino Review has just dropped some HUGE new information about the upcoming Justice League film adaptation.

According to the site, they’ve learned which heroes will be in the spotlight of the insanely anticipated film (at least as far as the current script goes). They also broke word of who the main villain would be late last year.

The five super-stars of the film will be: Superman, Batman, Green Lantern, Wonder Woman and The Flash. Possible cameos are thought to include Martian ManhunterAquaman and (less likely) Hawkman.

What do you think of the team? Who would you like to see play those characters? Who would you like to see direct the film? Shout out below!

Justice League is set to hit theatres in Summer 2015.

The first trailer for the latest film from the Coen brothers, Inside Llewyn Davis, has just been released online.

The finished folk-rock film currently has no planned release date, but I expect that will change shortly after the movie’s Sundance premiere. Watch the trailer below, and let us know what you think!

Little is known about the plot of the film at this point, but it’s said to loosely follow the life of musician Dave van Ronk, who was huge in the New York folk scene in the 20th century.

Are you a fan of the Coens? Are you looking forward to this one?

EW today released the first clip from the upcoming release of JOBS. The film is set to premiere tomorrow at Sundance, long before its wide release on April 19th.

Many balked at the picture when it was announced that Aston Kutcher would be playing the late Apple co-founder, but after seeing stills, and now this clip, Kutcher looks to portray him very capably.

JOBS is said to chronicle the defining 30 years of Steve Jobs’ life. What do you think?

Netherrealm Studios today released a new trailer for the upcoming (and surprisingly anticipated) DC brawler Injustice: Gods Among Us.

The trailer features our first real look at how Lex Luthor will be keeping up with our super-powered heroes, and we also get to hear a lot of new voice acting.

The game certainly looks presentable, let’s just hope the gameplay is  vastly different from the last DC fighter, Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe.

Check out the trailer below, and let us know what you think! Injustice: Gods Among Us launches on April 19th.

Just a few days after Atari announced that they’re entering bankruptcy protection, popular developer/publisher THQ has announced their permanent closure.

A letter went out to all employees yesterday, explaining what the closure means for them, their work, and their jobs. Read it below.

January 23, 2013

To All THQ Employees:

We now have the answers we’ve been seeking through our financial restructuring and Chapter 11 case. While much will be written, here are the facts of the bids and auction that occurred:

Yesterday morning, we received a competing bid for the operating business, along with Clearlake’s offer, and numerous offers for separate assets. During an auction process that lasted over 22 hours, the final conclusion was that the separate-asset bids would net more than a single buyer for the majority of the company. Shortly, we will, present the results to the U.S. Bankruptcy Court, which must concur with our assessment.

The proposed sales of multiple assets is as follows :

-Sega agreed to purchase Relic
-Koch Media agreed to purchase Volition and Metro
-Crytek agreed to purchase Homefront
-Take 2 agreed purchase Evolve and
-Ubisoft agreed to purchase Montreal and South Park

We expect these sales to close this week.

Some assets, including our publishing businesses and Vigil, along with some other intellectual properties are not included in the sale agreements. They will remain part of the Chapter 11 case. We will make every effort to find appropriate buyers, if possible.

What this means for employees

We expect that most employees of the entities included in the sale will be offered employment by the new owners. However, we cannot say what these owners may intend, and there will likely be some positions that will not be needed under the new ownership. You should receive notice this week or early next week if the new owners intend to extend employment to you. Please note that the terms of your new employment, including pay and benefits, may be different from the current terms of your employment with THQ.

If you are an employee of an entity that is not included in the sale, we regret that your position will end. A small number of our headquarters staff will continue to be employed by THQ beyond January 25 to assist with the transition. THQ has sufficient resources to pay these employees for work going forward, and we will be contacting these employees immediately to ensure their continued employment during this transition period. We are requesting the ability to offer certain severance pay to minimize disruption for employees of non-included entities as they determine the next steps in their careers.

We know you will have many questions about this news. We’ll be meeting tomorrow when we return to talk through this announcement and to answer any questions you have. You will receive a benefits fact sheet and FAQs with answers to some questions that may be on your mind. Please review these materials closely.

A personal note

The work that you all have done as part of the THQ family is imaginative, creative, artistic and highly valued by our loyal gamers. We are proud of what we have accomplished despite today’s outcome. It has been our privilege to work alongside the entire THQ team. While the company will cease to exist, we are heartened that the majority of our studios and games will continue under new ownership. We were hoping that the entire company would remain intact, but we expect to hear good news from each of the separate entities that will be operating as part of new organizations.

For those THQ employees who are part of entities that are not included in the sale, we are confident that the talent you have displayed as part of THQ will be recognized as you take the next steps in your career.

Thank you all for your dedication and for sharing your talent with the THQ team. We wish you the best of luck and hope you will keep in touch.

Sincerely,

Brian Farrell, Chief Executive Officer

Jason Rubin, President

Certainly a sad and heartfelt letter, I hope that all displaced employees can quickly find work at other developers.

Certainly a lot of interesting shuffling happening with THQ’s remaining properties. Thankfully the hard work that employee’s have been doing doesn’t seem to be going to waste, as most games in development appear to have found new publishers.

As it says above, Ubisoft is now set to publish the highly anticipated South Park game. Sega now has the rights to the Homeworld series, and seeing how they also own the Total War franchise, a Homeworld 3 makes perfect sense. It’s also interesting that Crytek purchased Homefront, seeing as that game was an absolute piece of crap.

THQ continues to seek buyers for currently unpurchased IPs, including (very surprisingly) Vigil Games, developers of the popular (and critically well received) Darksiders franchise.

What are your thoughts? Are you disappointed that you’ll never be seeing the THQ logo on another game again?

You’ll have to watch this morning’s Nintendo Direct to really feel the excitement (embedded below), but essentially, it’s a fantastic day to be a Nintendo fan, and a wonderful time to be a Wii U owner.

First, let’s get the non-game news out of the way. Now, I love my Wii U, but of course, like anything, the thing isn’t perfect. My main issue (which rears its ugly head every time the console is turned on) is just how slow the damn thing can be. It seems to take forever to move between menus on this system, and if you’re trying to return to the menu from inside a game, well, you may as well hit the restart button.

Nintendo knows about the speed issues, and is working to fix them. Two system updates are on the way (one due this Spring, one this Summer) that will address these problems, along with adding new functionality to the machine.

Almost more exciting than any new game.
Almost more exciting than any new game. Well, not really.

As Nintendo mentioned previously, Miiverse (which everyone seems to love) is still coming for smartphones. In the Spring, you’ll be able to access the service via your phone’s browser, but dedicated applications are in the works, so that you’re always just a tap away.

Along with the upcoming Spring update is (YES!) Virtual Console functionality for Wii U. The service will (strangely) launch with just NES and SNES titles, while GBA games will be added sometime in the future (hmmm… what about all of the other stuff on the Wii VC?). Pricing will be equivalent to the Wii Virtual Console Versions, and (lamely) if you’ve already purchased a title, it’ll cost you another $1 (or $1.50 for SNES) to get it on your Wii U. Hopefully for that, they come with some added functionality (fully customizable controls have already been revealed), and the ability to play the games on JUST the GamePad.

Now, the good stuff.

First, ZeldaIn a completely unexpected piece of news… we’re getting two of them! Remember how AMAZING The Wind Waker looked when it came out all the way back in 2003? Well it’s about to get a lot prettier: this Fall, The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker is going HD. Featuring improvements to gameplay and (hugely) to graphics, you’ll also be able to play this one on just the GamePad. This looks like is an absolute must buy.

Wow... Wow... Wow...
Wow… Wow… Wow…

It was also revealed that a Wii U specific Zelda title is in the works, set to “rethink the conventions of Zelda”. This one won’t be ready for some time however, so Wind Waker HD will have to do for now.

Everyone’s favourite Italian has two titles in the works for the Wii U. A new version of Mario Kart is in development, as well as a new Mario platformer, which will also be playable in 3D. Both games are set to be revealed at this year’s E3 convention (which hopefully means a holiday release).

The team behind the underrated Kirby’s Epic Yarn is at it again, but this time it’s Yoshi’s turn. The director of Yoshi’s Island and Yoshi’s Story is supervising the development of this one, which is Yoshi’s first starring role since 1998. Yarn Yoshi looks pretty damn… well, pretty.

WiiU_Yoshi012313_Scrn03

We all knew that Pikmin 3 was coming, and Nintendo kindly treated us to some new screenshots during the presentation. They look beautiful, and I can’t wait to get my hands on the game. Check them out in the gallery below! A ‘camera’ mode was also revealed for the game, which lets you shoot from the perspective of the Pikmin, using what else but the Wii U gamepad. You can then share them to MiiVerse. No word yet on whether or not you’ll be able to apply cheesy filters after the fact.

Those are the biggest titles, but a few others were revealed via trailer, including what appears to be a Fire Emblem / Shin Megami Tensei crossover, a new title from Monolith Soft, and a new trailer for the cool looking The Wonderful 101. Check them out below.

Game and Wario and a new Smash Bros. were also mentioned, but need to be further in development before being officially revealed.

So what do you think Wii U owners? Excited? Shout out below!

Sorry, Derek Miller.

You recognize that name don’t you? Derek played one fourth of the quartet that is was The Wedding Band on TBS. Derek also sat down with Jonathan in November of last year on Geekscape episode 268.

Today, after just 10 episodes, TBS announced that The Wedding Band was breaking up (and by that, I mean cancelled). The show was troubled from the get go, as TBS placed the hour long comedy in a historically weak 10PM timeslot.

The show was fairly well received which makes the news all the more depressing. Did any of you catch the show? What were your thoughts? Are you sad to see that it ended so quickly?

Check out a trailer for the series below, and bask in its cancelled greatness.

With just a few more weeks until The Walking Dead returns from its Winter hiatus, AMC today released a new trailer for the series’ anticipated return. The preview contains plenty of new footage, so if you’re spoiler-sensetive, you may want to avoid it! Otherwise enjoy, because it’s fantastic!

Check out the new preview below, and let us know what you think! The Walking Dead (and Walking Dead Weekly) returns on February 10th!

With his group in tatters, his sanity in question, and his own son questioning his every move, Rick must somehow pull everyone together to face their greatest challenge — the Governor.  In order to survive, he must risk everything, including the group’s very humanity.

Are you looking forward to playing through the Zerg campaign of StarCraft II? Not yet? Well, if you want to keep it that way, you better not watch this video, as its absolutely phenomenal.

Blizzard today revealed the opening cinematic for the upcoming StarCraft II: Heart of the Swarm. The company of course takes their cinematics very seriously, and this latest video is no exception.

Check out the video below, and get excited. StarCraft II: Heart of the Swarm launches on March 12th, 2013.

The Queen of Blades is gone. On the hellish planet Char, Jim Raynor harnessed the power of an ancient Xel’Naga artifact in a desperate bid to stop the zerg Swarm from overrunning the Koprulu sector, and the artifact restored Sarah Kerrigan to her human form. Without their queen to guide and unify them, the Swarm has fractured into several broods scattered throughout the Koprulu sector. One of the greatest threats to the galaxy has been neutralized… or so it seems.

Sarah Kerrigan is on the loose. Even without the terrible powers of the Queen of Blades or the might of the Swarm at her command, the former Ghost remains a foe not to be taken lightly. But if the artifact really did set her free, then why is Kerrigan seeking out zerg broods scattered throughout the Koprulu sector? What happened to Jim Raynor? Is she still pursuing her quest for vengeance, or has her transformation given Kerrigan a new purpose? Who is Sarah Kerrigan?

It’s time to pull out the ol’ Atari 2600 in memorium, as it could soon be lights out for the house that PONG built.

Both the US and French divisions of the once prominent company have entered bankruptcy protection after main shareholder BlueBay couldn’t find a buyer for the struggling developer. Atari’s company’s current assets are set to be auctioned off before a credit facility is due on March 31st.

It’s crazy to think that how far this company has fallen since its inception and insane growth through the 70’s and 80’s. Things turned very sour for them in 1984, when the Atari 2600 cartridge E.T. was released… and was one of the worst things ever. The video game market crashed shortly afterwards, and the company arguable hasn’t had a real hit since.

Hopefully things turn around for them, for as tarnished as the company’s reputation and resources may be, it would be sad to see them gone completely. Current CEO Jim Wilson stated that by auctioning off current assets, “we will seek to maximize the proceeds in the best interest of the company and all of its shareholders.” Hopefully the name will live to see another day.

In any case, things aren’t sounding good.

Film District today released the first trailer for their upcoming star-filled action Olympus Has Fallen.

The movie looks like a fun ride for sure, and with quite the cast to boot; stars include Gerard Butler, Morgan Freeman, Aaron Eckhart, Angeka Bassett, and plenty more!

Could this be a comeback to the action world for Gerard Butler? After 300 in 2006, I thought he was the coolest, and now it seems as though nearly everything he’s attached to is simply laughable. Hopefully Olympus Has Fallen turns out at least half-decent.

Check out the trailer below, and let us know what you think! Olympus Has Fallen shoots its way into theatres on March 22nd.

When the White House (Secret Service Code: “Olympus”) is captured by a terrorist mastermind and the President is kidnapped, disgraced former Presidential guard Mike Banning finds himself trapped within the building. As our national security team scrambles to respond, they are forced to rely on Banning¹s inside knowledge to help retake the White House, save the President and avert an even bigger disaster. Antoine Fuqua (Training Day) directs an all-star cast featuring Gerard Butler, Morgan Freeman, Aaron Eckhart, Angela Bassett, Melissa Leo, Ashley Judd, and Rick Yune.

A few days ago we showed you a creepy clip of Nicole Kidman in Park Chan-Wook’s upcoming thriller Stoker. Today, just as the film is hitting the 2013 Sundance Film Festival, a short but sweet new preview has been released.

The new previews is very snappy, and cuts all over the place, so don’t blink or you may miss something. Stoker hits theatres on March 1st.

After India’s (Wasikowska’s) father dies in an auto accident, her Uncle Charlie (Goode), who she never knew existed, comes to live with her and her emotionally unstable mother Evelyn (Kidman). Soon after his arrival, she comes to suspect this mysterious, charming man has ulterior motives, but instead of feeling outrage or horror, this friendless girl becomes increasingly infatuated with him.

Can you believe that we’re just 16 days away from seeing a new episode of Community. Did you ever think it would happen? That being said, 16 days is still plenty of time for another delay, so don’t uncross your fingers just yet (it probably won’t happen, NBC is just… well, NBC)!

NBC has released two new clips (and a featurette) for the sitcom’s fourth season. As far as I’m concerned, it’s like a breath of fresh air to see these characters again; we’ve been waiting for this for far too long.

After all the delays, after all the firings and staff quitting, and after the season was cut by half, Community is almost here: let’s just hope it’s at least close to what it once was. Check out the clips below, and let us know what you think!

Again, Community returns on October 19 February 2nd.

While the cast of Sin City: A Dame to Kill For has been shaping up very nicely (everyone from Joseph Gordon-Levitt to Josh Brolin to Mickey Rourke to Ray Liotta seem to be involved), Bruce Willis, who played the extremely major character of Hartigan in the first film, has been oddly silent. We’ve been wondering for some time now if he’d even make it into the film, or if his (still major) character would have to be recast.

You can now quit your worrying and rest easy, as Robert Rodriguez has just confirmed to MTV that the venerable (and busy) actor is confirmed for the sequel. It’s brief, but you can’t get much more of a confirmation than this:

“Bruce is back, so you’ll be seeing him.”

Excited? You can watch the interview with Robert Rodriguez below (though only if you’re in the US, which means that I haven’t seen it). The topics include Bruce Willis (of course), and they also delve into both the 3D elements of the film, and just who Joseph Gordon-Levitt will be playing. Enjoy!

Remember the Level-5 developed PS2 classic Dark Cloud? How about Studio Ghibli’s wonderful line of animated films like Howl’s Moving Castle and Spirited Away? Wouldn’t it be incredible if the two collaborated and made a video game?

Well, they did; Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch released in Japan (to much fanfare) all the way back in 2011. Now, in 2013, the PS3 version of the acclaimed JRPG is just a few days away from hitting North American shores (and just a couple weeks away for European gamers).

Popular YouTube channel Dealspwn has just revealed the first 30 minutes of the game (including the opening cutscene and some gameplay). If you weren’t already insanely excited for Ni No Kuni, watching this for just a few minutes should do the trick, it looks absolutely incredible.

Seriously, this looks like it could be one of the best games of the year, and it’s only January. Watch the game’s opening below, and let us know what you think!

Again, Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch hits North America THIS Tuesday, January 22nd.

Looks like we’re in for a treat with this one. An unusual, disturbing, terrifying treat…

A new clip has been revealed from Park Chan-Wook’s (Oldboy) English debut, Stoker. The film stars Nicole Kidman, Matthew Goode, Lucas Till, Dermot Mulroney, and more!

Check out the (uncomfortable) new clip below, and let us know what you think. Stoker hits theatres on March 1st.

Sure, you’ve already seen plenty of  sneaky set photos and candid video from the shoot of Kick-Ass 2. Does that make this shot any less cool? I don’t think so!

Via the latest issue of Entertainment Weekly, the first official still image from the film has been revealed. It features our titular hero (fashionably portrayed by the lovely Aaron Johnson), chatting it up with ex-mafia-cum-vigilante Colonel Stars.

Fox today released 16 new stills from the upcoming (R-Rated) fifth installment in the action series, A Good Day to Die Hard.

Summit Entertainment has just released the first trailer for the anticipated sequel to 2010’s Red (based on the comic by Warren Ellis and Cully Hammer). Fittingly, the film is called Red 2, and looks pretty freaking cool!

Much of the all-star cast from the first film returns, including Bruce Willis, Hellen Mirren, John Malkovich, Catherine Zeta-Jones, and many more!

Watch the trailer below, and let us know what you think! Red 2 hits theatres on August 2nd.

Summit has also released a new still from the film, featuring some cool folks not looking at an explosion.

Red2

In RED 2, the high-octane action-comedy sequel to the worldwide sleeper hit, retired black-ops CIA agent Frank Moses reunites his unlikely team of elite operatives for a global quest to track down a missing portable nuclear device. To succeed, they’ll need to survive an army of relentless assassins, ruthless terrorists and power-crazed government officials, all eager to get their hands on the next-generation weapon. The mission takes Frank and his motley crew to Paris, London and Moscow. Outgunned and outmanned, they have only their cunning wits, their old-school skills, and each other to rely on as they try to save the world-and stay alive in the process.

This one looks pretty special. Hailed as “One of the most emotional and touching films of this year’s Sundance,” The End of Love tells the heartbreaking story of a single father raising his only son after the death of his wife.

Check out the trailer below. It looks insanely emotional, and isn’t too far from being released! The End of Love will be available on iTunes January 31st, and in theatres on March 1st.

When the mother of his two-year-old son Isaac suddenly passes away, struggling actor Mark (played by writer/director Mark Webber) is forced to grapple with his ability to grow up. As he kindles a relationship with a young single mother (Shannyn Sossamon), he begins to realize that he can no longer remain in denial about the real-life consequences his choices have on Isaac (Isaac Love, Webber’s real-life son). Set against the backdrop of Los Angeles, The End of Love is an intimate and stunningly honest portrait of a young father in transition between the life he’s been working for and the one that’s waiting for him.

It’s been over 11 years since the much beloved (and often overlooked) classic Luigi’s Mansion vacuumed its onto our shelves (and into our hearts). I was just 11 years old when the game released, and I can still remember playing far too long into the night, even when I had school the next morning.

As much as I’d have loved to see a sequel for Nintendo’s latest home console (the Wii U of course, imagine the gamepad acting as a large, real life Game Boy Horror), I’ll take what I can get, and that’s Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon for the 3DS.

Nintendo today revealed the release date for Luigi’s upcoming adventure, and it’s a lot closer than you might think! Dark Moon will hit shelves just two days before 2K’s Bioshock Infiniteon March 24th, 2013.

I almost feel like tracking down my old GameCube in anticipation for this. I can’t imagine Dark Moon being anything but wonderful. Are you planning to pick it up?

DarkMoon

All the way back in August of last year we reviewed the biggest horror anthology of 2012, V/H/S. The film was effective, well produced, and very well received, so it was no surprise that shortly after the film’s wide release, a sequel was announced.

S-VHS (get it!?) will have portions directed by Jason Eisner (Hobo With a Shotgun), Eduardo Sanchez & Gregg Hale (The Blair Witch Project), Gareth Evans (The Raid), Timo Tjahjanto (Macabre), and Adam Wingard and Simon Barrett (A Horrible Way to Die).

Developer High Moon Studios (Transformers: Fall of Cybertron, Robert Ludlum’s The Bourne Conspiracy) today revealed five new screenshots for their playable adaptation of the merc with a mouth himself, Deadpool.

Of course, it’s pretty typical for games based on licensed characters to be absolute trash, but based on High Moon’s track record (I was a big fan of The Bourne Conspiracy, and have heard nothing but good things about the newer Transformers games) I’m quite looking forward to this one.

Deadpool looks stylish and violent as always, let’s just hope the plot (written by Deadpool regular Daniel Way) and gameplay live up to the character. The game is currently in development, and is slated to release sometime this year for PS3 and Xbox 360 (sorry Wii U owners).

Check out the new screens below, and as always, let us know what you think!

Coming from someone who has never read Axe Cop, this show looks absolutely hilarious. Is Axe Cop available in TPB? Because I’ll surely be picking it up before the television adaptation airs this Summer.

Fox today released a new promo for the upcoming series titled Ask Axe Cop, in which Axe Cop himself answers the very relevant question of what would happen if he became president.

Check out the preview below, and let us know what you think! Will you be watching Axe Cop when it premieres on July 27th?

From the unfettered imagination of a five-year-old boy comes AXE COP, an action-comedy about the most badass superhero who ever existed! Operating on only two minutes of sleep a night and fueled by a diet consisting solely of birthday cake, AXE COP and his loyal partner, FLUTE COP, unleash their unique brand of vigilante justice on bad guys everywhere – including stopping Hitler from creating an army of evil zombie robots and helping BAT WARTHOG MAN find the villain who stole all his best friends!

AXE COP is the unique comic phenomenon created and written by Malachai Nicolle (age five) and his brother, Ethan Nicolle (age 30). What started as a small passion project between two brothers quickly evolved into an online sensation and was later published as a graphic novel by Dark Horse Books. AXE COP was developed for television by Nick Weidenfeld and Judah Miller (AMERICAN DAD). Matt Silverstein and Dave Jeser (“Drawn Together”) serve as executive producers/showrunners. The series ensemble cast includes Megan Mullally (“Children’s Hospital,” “Will & Grace”), Patton Oswalt (“Young Adult,” “Ratatouille”), Ken Marino (“Children’s Hospital,” “Party Down”), Peter Serafinowicz (“Shaun of the Dead”) and weekly guest stars such as Giancarlo Esposito (“Revolution”); rapper Tyler, The Creator; Jonathan Banks (“Breaking Bad”); Rob Huebel (“Despicable Me”); and Dan Harmon (“Community”).

Fringe ends in three days. Forever. As in there will never be another episode. The two-hour series finale airs on Fox this Friday at 8pm.

Fox today released a trailer for the feature-length episode, and while I haven’t watched it (I’m not caught up, and there’s no way in hell I’m spoiling this one), I’ve heard nothing but good things about it.

Watch the trailer below, let us know what you think, and tell us what you’ll be watching once Fringe ends!

Last month we showed you a wonderful trailer for Ron Gilbert’s upcoming adventure, The Cave. The quirky title quickly jumped to the top of my most-wanted list, where it will stay until it lands in my greedy digital hands.

Looks like I (and anyone else who’s looking forward to it… but mostly me) won’t have much longer to wait, as publisher Sega of America announced that The Cave will be available next week for the cool (and ridiculously low) price of $14.99 on all platforms.

Wii U and PS3 players will be able to start their adventure on Tuesday, January 22nd, while Microsoft and Valve loyals will be waiting until the 23rd.

Get excited, The Cave is going to be something special.

Injustice: Gods Among Us, the new DC fighter from the creators of Mortal Kombat, is nearly upon us. Warner Bros. Interactive and DC announced today that the anticipated brawler will hit store shelves on April 16th for Xbox 360, PS3, and Wii U. The game looks decent from everything we’ve seen so far, but then again, so did Mortal Combat Vs. DC Universe… and we all know how that one turned out!

Along with the release date, yet another version of the game was revealed. Along with the standard and already announced Collector’s editions, a limited Battle Edition will also be up for grabs.

The Battle Edition features everything from the Collector’s Edition (listed below), as well as an exclusive fight stick, so you can absolutely destroy everyone stuck using a standard controller. The newly announced version will retail for $149.99.

Collector’s Edition contents:

-Exclusive DC Collectibles statue featuring iconic characters Batman and Wonder Woman, the Fortress of Solitude, and the Last Son of Krypton’s escape ship

-Special Collector’s Edition of the Injustice: Gods Among Us comic book

-Digital download of DC Universe animated film Justice League: Doom

-Three exclusive skins based on Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman from DC COMICS – THE NEW 52

Are you looking forward to this one? Which version are you planning to pick up? How did you feel about Mortal Kombat Vs. DC Universe?

UPDATE: We just received word from Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment that today’s press release contained one small error… Wii U owners, sorry to get your hopes up, but the game is only releasing on Sony’s Playstation 3 and Microsoft’s Xbox 360. Damn.
