Paramount has released another action-packed preview titled “Trust” for Jon Chu’s G.I. Joe: Retaliation. This spot features some bits of new footage and is definitely making it hard to keep our excitement levels down as we edge closer to the film’s release date.

A follow-up to the 2009 release G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra, which grossed more than $300 million worldwide, Paramount Pictures, MGM and Skydance Productions, in association with Hasbro and di Bonaventura Pictures, presents G.I. Joe: Retaliation. In this sequel, the G.I. Joes are not only fighting their mortal enemy, Cobra, they are forced to contend with threats from within the government that jeopardize their very existence.

G.I. Joe: Retaliation strikes on March 29, 2013.

Did last night’s explosive episode of Arrow leaving you wanting more? Well, you’re going to have to wait a few weeks until the next episode hits the air. On March 20th, Helena Bertenelli is making her return to Starling City and this is anything but good news for Oliver Queen.

EDM MEGASTAR STEVE AOKI OPENS OLIVER’S NEW NIGHTCLUB — With his nightclub set to open and a new romance brewing with McKenna (guest star Janina Gavankar), Oliver (Stephen Amell) is as happy as he’s been since returning to Starling City. But when Oliver’s ex, The Huntress (guest star Jessica De Gouw), suddenly returns to town, she threatens to destroy everything and everyone he cares about. Meanwhile, Laurel (Katie Cassidy) and her father (Paul Blackthorne) struggle with the return of Dinah Lance (guest star Alex Kingston) who claims she has proof Sara is still alive. Thea (Willa Holland) gets Roy Harper (guest star Colton Haynes) a job at Oliver’s club, but he’s not too inclined to stop his life of crime. Oliver and Tommy (Colin Donnell) are thrilled they were able to get Steve Aoki to play at the opening of their new nightclub, Verdant. David Ramsey and Susanna Thompson also star. Guy Bee directed the episode written by Jake Coburn & Lana Cho (117).

We haven’t been getting much news regarding the Michael Bay produced and Jonathon Liebesman directed Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles reboot, minus learning that Megan Fox will be playing April O’Neil in the film and that filming will begin in April. Paramount Pictures have announced that the semi-controversial reboot has been pushed back three weeks after the original release date of May 16th, 2014.

The film will now be hitting theaters June 6th, 2014. This isn’t a major delay by any means and probably to avoid competition with Sony’s The Amazing Spider-Man 2 and Legendary’s Godzilla (which was set to open the same weekend). Filming on the project is set to begin very soon and we should begin learning even more regarding the cast over the next month or two.

There’s been plenty of  speculation regarding who will be playing Norman Osborn in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, and now the actor who will portray the Oscorp CEO has been revealed. It has now been revealed that Oscar winning actor Chris Cooper has joined the cast of the highly-anticipated sequel as Norman Osborn, who will eventually become Spider-Man’s greatest nemesis, The Green Goblin.

It is currently unknown if we will see the character’s transformation take place during the events of this film or a sequel at the moment, but you can be damn sure it’s going to happen.

With Matthew Vaughn joining the Josh Trank-directed adaptation of Fantastic Four as a producer, production on the film is definitely moving forward. Now, according to The Hollywood Reporter, best-selling author and screenwriter Seth Grahame-Smith, the writer behind Pride And Prejudice And Zombies and Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, was recently tapped to polish the screen play for the film, which was originally penned by Jeremy Slater.

In addition, THR also reports that Josh Trank is aiming for a “grounded superhero and sci-fi” approach to the reboot of Marvel’s first family and will delve deep into the comics mythology. Perhaps we will see The Mole Man in the film, who was the first villain that the superheroes encountered in the comics. While I can’t talk about it quite yet, I do know a little about Fox’s upcoming plans for their Marvel properties and there’s some exciting things ahead that include The Fantastic Four. Expect even more news regarding the project to start popping up over the next few months.

It’s been a bit since we’ve heard any news regarding Relativity’s new adaptation of James O’Barr’s The Crow. The film, which has F. Javier Gutierrez attached to direct and Jesse Wigutow writing the script, has had several names rumored to be attached to the lead role of Eric Draven. We’ve heard that Bradley Cooper was once attached to star and both Mark Wahlberg and Channing Tatum were both considered as candidates. Now, there’s another actor linked to the film’s lead role.

Actor James McAvoy

James McAvoy (X-Men: First Class) is said to be currently circling the role of Eric Draven (who was played by Brandon Lee in the original film), who is “brutally murdered [and] comes back to life as an undead avenger of his and his fiancée’s murder.” The only problem apparently is that McAvoy’s commitment to X-Men: Days Of Future Past, which starts shooting in a few months, may keep him from taking the role in the remake.

A few months back it was revealed that Disney and Marvel were teaming up to work on a full-length animated feature featuring Marvel’s Japan based super hero team Big Hero 6. But since then, there’s been no word regarding the project until today.

Big Hero 6

It’s now been revealed that Don Hall’s Big Hero 6 will be hitting theaters on November 21, 2014. Unfamiliar with the obscure Marvel characters?

Big Hero 6 is a superteam in the Marvel Comics universe. They technically first appeared in Sunfire and Big Hero 6 #1 (September, 1998), though they were created by Steven T. Seagle and Duncan Rouleau in the pages of Alpha Flight, volume 2. When the Japanese government wanted a team of state-sanctioned super-heroes at their disposal, a top-secret consortium of politicians and business entities known as the Giri was formed to recruit and train potential superhuman operatives for “Big Hero 6.”

Official news regarding the project should be expected to be revealed at either this year’s San Diego Comic-Con or Disney’s D23 Expo.

Vaughn has definitely already brought new life to one of Fox’s properties with X-Men: First Class. So, this is definitely good news for the upcoming project. Well, it looks like there’s one hell of an episode of Arrow coming next week. First off, it’s written by DC Comics writer Geoff Johns. Second, you’ve got Deadshot and China White returning to take out Merlyn aka The Dark Archer. Let’s just say that we can’t wait to see this one.

DEADSHOT RETURNS — Oliver (Stephen Amell) and Diggle (David Ramsey) learn that Deadshot (guest star Michael Rowe) is still alive and his next target is Malcom (John Barrowman). Malcom invites Tommy (Colin Donnell) to attend a benefit honoring Malcom for his work with Starling City but Tommy refuses to attend. Oliver encourages his friend to mend his relationship with his father while he can. Meanwhile, Oliver struggles to balance his new relationship with McKenna [Janina Gavankar] and his duties as Arrow. Katie Cassidy, Paul Blackthorne and Susanna Thompson also star. Glen Winter directed the episode written by Geoff Johns (##116).

There’s definitely two characters in the X-Men universe that fans are massively hoping to see in the highly-anticipated X-Men: Days Of Future Past. Well, in an interview with IGN Movies, director Bryan Singer hinted that we may actually see them return to the big screen. When the director was told that a lot of fans would like to see Scott Summers and Jean Grey return the director replied with:

“Who wouldn’t? Who wouldn’t? [Laughing] That’s all I can say. The good news is that we’re all on the same page!”

Earlier in the interview, Singer emphasised that he has plans to fix some of the not-so-popular decisions that were made in X-Men: The Last Stand. It has also been revealed that the director has a few “younger characters” that he’s currently in the process of casting. Could we see a young Jean and Scott join the team? Or possibly even a return for James Marsden and Famke Janssen? Either way, there’s definitely hope that these beloved characters will be joining the cast of the highly-anticipated next X-film.

Sam Witwer is no stranger when it comes to Star Wars. The actor has lent his voice and likeness to The Force Unleashed series and is currently the voice of Darth Maul in the animated Clone Wars series. Witwer recently spoke to IGN about the possibility of a third game in The Force Unleashed series as well as if he had any interest in a role in J.J. Abrams Star Wars: Episode VII.

star_wars_the_force_unleashed

When asked if he would ever see a third The Force Unleashed:

I would certainly be open to it. The thing is, right now, Lucasfilm needs to concentrate on this little thing called Star Wars: Episode VII. If I’m them, that’s where my focus goes right now, and it has to. It’s the most important thing they have coming up in the future. The Clone Wars is already successful. Now Disney has to prove themselves with the ownership of the franchise. Kathleen Kennedy needs to shepherd that into some far-reaching stuff. In terms of cold, business, financial matters, The Force Unleashed series is extraordinarily viable. It did very, very well. We also have that third part of the story that Haden Blackman and I have talked about that’s really wonderful. I think that you could see us round back to it and finish it up, but it would obviously be for the next generation of console systems, certainly not this one. And it would have to be after Episode VII. It just has to be that way. Lucasfilm is the kind of company that puts all of its resources behind the project they’re working on at the time. So, really, that’s where I’d put my resources if I were Lucasfilm.

On just how much he knows about Star Wars: Episode VII:

You know, a little bit. I knew that there was another Star Wars movie coming maybe eight months before everyone else did, but what I didn’t know was that it was Episode VII… There have been a lot of surprises, and then also, again, information finds itself my way because I’m under NDA of the company. It’s funny, because there was an audition for a very important role in an upcoming Clone Wars season, and I was suggesting some friends of mine read for the role — and I was also reading for the role. So a friend of mine came in, and they’re like, “Okay, get ready to read this.” They kind of just threw him a script, and he was like, “Wait, I didn’t know that I was reading for this character!” It was a well-known character. And they said, “Didn’t Sam tell you?” This is my best friend, and he said, “No, he didn’t.” I was like, “Well of course I didn’t tell him!” [Laughs] “That’s your job, Dave Filoni! You’re Lucasfilm, dammit! I’ll send actors your way, but I’m not going to tell them why. That’s your job.” So because of that, information does sometimes find its way to me, and people know that it’s not going to go any further — under penalty of death.

When asked if he would be interested in appearing in Star Wars: Episode VII:

I would kill for the opportunity to just be in the room and audition, honestly. I really feel like, in a weird way, I’ve put my time in and I’m ready for that type of opportunity. I’ve portrayed a lot of Star Wars characters, and they’ve been very different from each other. It wasn’t just me being a fan and feeling like, “Okay, I’m ready to do this role!” No, that wasn’t good enough. I had to go and watch 1940s movies and Casablanca and Double Indemnity and The Killing and all this stuff that George Lucas would have watched when he was younger. You know, even the 1930s serials like Flash Gordon. It’s all stuff where Star Wars came from — the Kurosawa films, all these things. All of that research informed how I approached these roles, and fans seem to think that it feels right. If it does, it’s because I feel like I’ve made an effort to try to understand George Lucas and where this stuff comes from. I wouldn’t feel comfortable just shooting from the hip because Star Wars is too important to me, so I did my homework. I feel like if J.J. Abrams was like, “Yeah, let’s call in Sam Witwer for an audition,” I’d feel like I could do a pretty good job in that audition room, because I think I understand this stuff. I think I know how you’d perform it, whether it’s a big bad evil guy or one of the protagonists. So that’s my personal opinion. [Laughs] I don’t know if that holds any weight in terms of the people that are in the room right now, but yeah. I feel that I could do a decent job with it.

Honestly, if anyone deserves a role in one of the upcoming Star Wars films, it’s Sam Witwer. Hopefully the actor gets a shot at a role in one of the upcoming films.
