Following yesterday’s ridiculous first clip, Fox today debuted another scene from the highly anticipated The Wolverine.

This one is leaps and bounds ahead of what we saw yesterday, and features a fight breaking out during a funeral. The action and effects all look infinitely more polished than what we’ve already seen, and there are definitely some impressive shots in this latest clip. I certainly hope that the bulk of the film looks closer to what we see here than the physics-less mess that we saw yesterday.

Take a look at the new clip below, and let us know if you’re excited for the movie! The Wolverine hits theatres on July 26th!

Based on the celebrated comic book arc, this epic action-adventure takes Wolverine, the most iconic character of the X-Men universe, to modern day Japan. Out of his depth in an unknown world he faces his ultimate nemesis in a life-or-death battle that will leave him forever changed. Vulnerable for the first time and pushed to his physical and emotional limits, he confronts not only lethal samurai steel but also his inner struggle against his own immortality, emerging more powerful than we have ever seen him before.

While we’re bound to see more Captain America at San Diego Comic-Con next week, Disney has just debuted the teaser poster for next year’s Phase Two film, Captain America: The Winter Soldier.

Being a teaser poster, the image really reveals nothing about the movie. Instead, it’s simply a cool, stylish shot of a war-torn shield, with the film’s April 4th release date underneath.

In any case, it’s an exciting taste of what’s to come. Take a look at the poster below, and look for more Captain America news when Geekscape heads to SDCC next week!

Fox today debuted the first clip from this month’s highly anticipated release of James Mangold’s The Wolverine. We’ve seen pieces of this scene in almost every trailer so far, but somehow, seeing it all together makes me a little less excited for the film.

I’m all for suspending belief, but this is just ridiculous. I won’t spoil things for you, so take a look at the clip below, and let us know what you think! The Wolverine hits theatres on July 26th, and hopefully the bulk of it is a lot better than this scene!

Based on the celebrated comic book arc, this epic action-adventure takes Wolverine (Jackman), the most iconic character of the X-Men universe, to modern day Japan. Out of his depth in an unknown world he will face a host of unexpected and deadly opponents in a life-or-death battle that will leave him forever changed. Directed By James Mangold, The Wolverine hits theaters in 2D & 3D on July 26, 2013.

Briefly: Ever since Lee Pace, Benicio Del Toro, and Karen Gillan were added to the ranks of Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, the internet has been ripe with speculation on which characters the actors would be playing. Del Toro’s role has been called ” a multi-picture deal for a character that will have a big part in the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe,” so that casting has been particularly interesting to fans.

Den of Geek has just confirmed with an unknown source just who the trio will portray in the film. Del Toro plays The Collector (one of the oldest beings in the universe, who collects things that would otherwise be destroyed), Pace is Ronan The Accuser (a Kree alien who has toyed with both sides of the force), and Gillan will portray Nebula (a space pirate who insists that she’s the granddaughter of Thanos).

Again, nothing’s official until it’s announced, but this is definitely an exciting rumour that, if true, could hold many secrets of what’s to come later in Phase Two. What do you think of the casting choices?

Briefly: These were just sent my way, and are far too gorgeous not to share.

An incredible artist by the name of Andry Rajoelina has debuted a new art series titled “Super Families”, which is set to premiere at the Paris Comic Con this weekend. The series is a stylish adaptation of many of the Marvel universe’s most famous families, and each piece is absolutely stunning.

Six individual pieces have been unveiled so far. Check them out below, and we’ll be sure to update you if more are revealed! You can also head to Andry’s deviantART page to see even more amazing work. Be sure to let us know what you think of the series!

We’re just a few weeks away from the highly anticipated release of The Wolverine, and Fox has just launched a new featurette promoting the film.

Titled “A Ronin Story”, the featurette begins by explaining just what a Ronin story is, and subsequently why The Wolverine fits in the genre. The video features plenty of exciting new footage for the film, and I actually found the scenes shown off here more exciting than any other preview that we’ve already seen.

I wasn’t overly excited for The Wolverine when the first trailer debuted online, but the film’s current marketing (plus those amazing sumi-e posters) are all really amping me up for the feature. Watch the new featurette below, and let us know what you think! The Wolverine hits theatres on July 26th!

Just yesterday, Fox released a beautiful sumi-e The Wolverine poster featuring Jean Grey. Today, three more characters got the sumi-e treatment. The latest posters feature Harada, Mariko, and Shingen, and just as before, I’d love to get every single one of these up on my wall.

If the film turns out half as good as these posters, we’re in for a treat with The Wolverine. Check out the new images below, and be sure to let us know what you think!

I’d love to frame and mount every single poster for The Wolverine. The incredible sumi-e art style has impressed me since the very first teaser image, and today’s Jean Grey is just as awesome.

It’s unknown just how prominent Famke Janssen’s role in the film will be, but it has been confirmed that she will appear in a flashback sequence. The actress was a great choice for the Jean Grey character, and I can’t wait to see some new scenes with her.

Deadpool’s new game is almost here!

Fittingly titled, Deadpool hits stores tomorrow, and it surprisingly looks fantastic. The game was first announced at SDCC last year and has been garnering plenty of excitement ever since.

Deadpool comes from High Moon Studios, developers of Darkwatch, The Bourne Conspiracy, and a plethora (well, 3) of well reviewed Transformers titles. I’m a big fan of their previous work, so Deadpool should be right up my alley. Plus, the game was written by Deadpool regular Daniel Way, and the character is voiced by Deadpool’s regular voice actor, Nathan North.

The studio has just released a launch trailer for the game, which gives you a great idea of what to expect of the full package. Watch the trailer below, and let us know if you’ll be picking it up!

Briefly: The ever-growing cast of James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy just added one more.

First rumoured months ago, John C. Reilly has officially signed on for the film. He’ll be playing Rhomann Dey, leader of the Nova Corps. Reilly joins Benicio Del Toro, Karen Gillan, Glenn Close, Zoe Saldana, Lee Pace, and plenty of others! The film is set to hit theatres on August 1st, 2014.

What do you think of the casting choice? This ensemble really seems to be shaping up nicely, and I can’t wait to see some footage from this film.

Fox has just unveiled the first TV spot for The Wolverine. I have to say that I wasn’t overly impressed with the film’s first trailer, but each subsequent preview has proved that this could be one of this Summer’s coolest movies.

We’ve got a little over a month until The Wolverine hits theatres, so I’m sure we’ll see plenty of additional footage before that time comes. Take a look at the spot below, and let us know what you think!

I’ve been playing Marvel Heroes since release, and I’m having an absolute blast so far. Action RPG, loot, and the Marvel universe pulled me in from the very start (and don’t forget about that awesome opening cinematic). After a little more than a week spent running around doing what heroes do, I decided to put together a quick list of things you might want to know before putting on those tights. Here are six things (in no particular order) that I think everyone should know before playing Marvel Heroes.

1. Your Starting 5

Marvel Heroes 1

Since Gazillion Entertainment designed Marvel Heroes to be a free-to-play game, the choice of heroes is limited if you decide not to spend any money. Hawkeye, Scarlet Witch, Storm, The Thing, and Daredevil round out your starting five characters. Each hero fits into a certain class, for example, The Thing’s description ends up putting Ben Grimm into the ‘tank’ class. Soaking up damage, while at the same time dishing it out ends up being a no-brainer for The Thing. The easiest way I can help you decide which character to pick from the free five is like this: do you like ranged attacks, or being up close and personal? Once you figure that out, your choice should be made a little easier for you.

2. No ‘Try Before You Buy’

Marvel Heroes 2

If you end up wanting to play as your favorite Marvel hero from the beginning, thus parting with up to $20 to do so, be warned. There is currently no way to play around with the characters that unlock with money to see if their play style is something you want to march through the full game with. Your best bet is to look up videos of the character you want to purchase to see if your favorite hero plays like anything you would enjoy using. Hopefully this changes sooner rather than later, as to me, it seems like a huge oversight.

3. Plain Jane

Marvel Heroes 3

Part of the fun with games that have a loot system is having said loot change your character’s appearance. None of that will be found in Marvel Heroes. The case could be made that since Marvel Heroes is a free-to-play game, it’s only natural that the only way to change your appearance will be in the form of purchasing costumes with real money. This doesn’t make it any easier to swallow, especially since the costumes end up being insanely high priced for some of the more popular heroes (I’m looking at you, Iron Man).

4. Drop It Like It’s Hot

If you truly want to pay absolutely nothing for Marvel Heroes, but still want to get access to the paid content, you still have an option: grind. Although I don’t have all the info in front of me as of writing this, most of the characters and costumes in the store will drop randomly during one of your play sessions in Marvel Heroes. The percentage rate of how often this happens is still up in the air. As soon as you finish the prologue mission, you are given a random drop of one of the four other starting characters that you didn’t pick. In the many hours I have put into Marvel Heroes so far, I’ve yet to see any paid content drop since. Hopefully soon we’ll have more info from Gazillion Entertainment to clear up some very important questions in this matter.

5. Sharing Is Caring

Marvel Heroes 4

Inventory and your storage bank in Marvel Heroes is shared for every character. This is probably the one thing you should spend money on if you love hoarding all the loot. You can hit the limit in your storage bank (48 items) pretty fast if you’re not too careful. The proposition, however, of parting with 550G ($5.50) for each extra page (up to 3 max) is a little more than most will be comfortable with.

6. What’s Mine, Is Mine

Marvel Heroes 5

Switching between characters you’ve unlocked is pretty seamless in Marvel Heroes. Being able to instantly switch to someone like Daredevil when I get tired of shooting arrows with Hawkeye gives players variety when it suits them. Experience doesn’t carry over from character to character, so if you have a level 20 hero, switching to a level 1 hero you just unlocked late in the game will get you killed fast. You do have the ability to head back to previous areas and grind for experience on mobs, which you’re likely to need to do often. It’s probably wise to start your first play through of Marvel Heroes with one character, then replay chapters with the additional characters you either purchased or got from a drop.

Marvel Heroes is a lot of fun, and hopefully these tips prevent any disappointing surprises from taking away from your game experience. If you’re already playing the game, make sure to let us know what you think!

How’s everyone liking all this pre-E3 news so far?

Via GameTrailers, Travellers Tales has just released an awesome new trailer for the upcoming Lego Marvel Super Heroes. It’s been a big week for James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy. Last Wednesday, Glenn Close joined the project as the head of the Nova Corps, and just two days ago, Doctor Who‘s Karen Gillan signed on as a lead villain.

Today, Academy Award winner Benicio Del Toro signed on for a leading role. No details were revealed about who he’ll be playing, but according to Deadline (who broke the news), he has signed a multi-picture deal for a character that will have a big part in the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Thanos? Who knows!

What do you think of the news? Guardians of the Galaxy also stars Zoe Saldana, Chriss Pratt, Lee Pace, Michael Rooker, and plenty of others, and will hit theatres on August 1st, 2014!

Just days after Glenn Close joined the project as the head of the Nova Corps, James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy has added another to its ranks.

Karen Gillan, most recognized for her five-year stint on BBC’s Doctor Who, has signed onto the film. Few details about her role have been revealed, but it is known that she’ll play the main villain in the feature.

Guardians of the Galaxy also stars Zoe Saldana, Chriss Pratt, Lee Pace, Michael Rooker, Glenn Close, and plenty of others. The film will hit theatres on August 1st, 2014. Let us know what you think of the latest addition to the cast, and if you’re looking forward to the film!

It’s been some time since we’ve seen any new marketing come from Marvel’s Thor: The Dark World. The studio today released five new still photos for the film, mixing production images with behind-the-scenes.

I was a big fan of 2011’s Thor, and with Iron Man 3 being the disappointment that it was, I hope that November’s launch of Thor: The Dark World can be the start to Phase Two that we were all hoping for. Check out the photos below, and let us know what you think! Thor: The Dark World hits theatres on November 8th.

Marvel’s “Thor: The Dark World” continues the big-screen adventures of Thor, the Mighty Avenger, as he battles to save Earth and all the Nine Realms from a shadowy enemy that predates the universe itself.  In the aftermath of Marvel’s “Thor” and “Marvel’s The Avengers,” Thor fights to restore order across the cosmos…but an ancient race led by the vengeful Malekith returns to plunge the universe back into darkness.  Faced with an enemy that even Odin and Asgard cannot withstand, Thor must embark on his most perilous and personal journey yet, one that will reunite him with Jane Foster and force him to sacrifice everything to save us all.

After seeing the first gameplay footage for Deadpool earlier this month, the game immediately became a must-have for me. An awesome character, a story by Deadpool regular Daniel Way, and some great looking third-person gameplay means that Deadpool may be the first extraordinary superhero game in quite some time (though I’m also very much looking forward to Marvel Heroes).

The game just got a little cooler. High Moon Studios has revealed Wolverine as a guest star in the title. Little information has been revealed about the cameo, including whether or not he’ll be playable, but with the past that these two have, it should be a very interesting addition to the game.

Read Deadool’s thoughts on the matter below, and let us know if you’ll be picking up the game! Deadpool releases on June 25th!

Oh hey, LOOK, it’s everyone’s faaaaaaaaavorite comic book character – Wolverine – appearing in yet ANOTHER thing he doesn’t belong in – MY upcoming video game from Activision Publishing, Inc. and Marvel Entertainment, DEADPOOL, starring ME, Deadpool, and NOBODY ELSE.

Who approved this?! What is with everyone loving Wolverine when I am cooler in every possible way? Who has the cooler costume color palette? Deadpool. Who can fight in melee AND at range? Deadpool! Who forgets his past through repression, like a NORMAL PERSON, rather than dumb amnesia? DEADPOOL!
Sigh…some top brass are telling me I’m contractually obligated to say ONE nice thing about Wolverine before I go, so here goes…

Dear Wolverine: I guess, when put aside the grand history of human conflict and suffering, the lame tank tops you insist on wearing sometimes aren’t THAT bad, bub.

Looking forward to working with you,
Deadpool

The ever-growing cast of James Gunn’s Gaurdians of the Galaxy just revealed its latest addition.

Golden Globe winner Glenn Close has been tapped to play the head of Nova Corps in the film, which is set to start production in just a few months. Deadline broke the news, and reports that Close’s character is the “closest thing to the one that Samuel L. Jackson plays in Marvel’s Avengers movie.”

In my opinion, this is an absolutely fantastic addition to the already impressive cast. What do you think? Guardians of the Galaxy also stars Zoe Saldana, Chris Pratt, Lee Pace, Michael Rooker, and more, and is set to hit theatres on August 1st, 2014!

When Peter Dinklage joined the cast of X-Men: Days of Future Past back in February, fans went wild with speculation.

First, many thought Dinklage would portray the classic X-Man, Puck. It was soon revealed however, that he would instead be playing the film’s main antagonist. Speculation immediately shifted to Bolivar Trask, the scientist that would go on to create the infamous Sentinels.

Director Brian Singer recently tweeted a photo all but confirming that Dinklage would portray Trask in the film (just look at that ‘stache). Today, he revealed a new photo that further confirms the rumour. It’s not official until it’s announced of course, but we at least know for sure that Trask Industries will have a role in the film.

Check out Singers just-tweeted photo below, and let us know if you’re looking forward to the film! X-Men: Days of Future Past hits theatres on July 18th, 2014!

Bryan Singer sure loves his twitter.

After posting countless set photos, first looks, and other news, the X-Men: Days of Future Past director has revealed a late casting addition to the project. American Horror Story‘s Evan Peters has joined the film, and will play the ‘swiftest’ mutant around, Quicksilver.

Of course, The Avengers director Joss Whedon recently revealed that Quicksilver (and his sister, Scarlet Witch) would be a part of The Avengers 2. This is bound to cause some confusion among fans, seeing as each project is not only coming from a different team, but a different studio as well. My guess is that we’ll be seeing substantially different versions of Quicksilver between the two films.

Check out Singer’s tweet below, and let us know what you think of the news! X-Men: Days of Future Past hits theatres on July 17th, 2014!

This is a damn cool preview.

We’re barely two months away from the theatrical release of James Mangold’s The Wolverine, and Fox has just released a new trailer for the film. The video features plenty of new footage, and if you’re not sold on the movie yet, this trailer may just turn you around.

The Wolverine hits theatres on July 26th, and stars Hugh Jackman, Will Yun Lee, Brian Tee, Hiroyuki Sanada, Rila Fukushima, and plenty more! Take a look at the new trailer below, and let us know what you think!

Vulnerable for the first time and pushed to his physical and emotional limits, he confronts not only lethal samurai steel but also his inner struggle against his own immortality.

Bryan Singer is on a roll. Just yesterday he gave us our first look at Peter Dinklage preparing for work on X-Men: Days of Future Past, and today it’s Jennifer Lawrence’s turn. The director has tweeted an image of Lawrence in full Mystique costume, and as always, she’s looking pretty bad-ass. The image is titled “First look: #JenniferLawrence as a vengeful #Mystique”, so it’s probably safe to speculate that she’s pretty unhappy about what happened with Xavier. I guess we’ll find out next Summer.

Take a look at the photo below, and let us know what you think! X-Men: Days of Future Past hits theatres on July 17th, 2014!

Back in February it was revealed that Peter Dinklage had joined the cast of Bryan Singer’s anticipated X-Men: Days of Future Past. Early rumours and speculation led many to believe that Dinklage would portray Puck, but it was quickly announced that he would be playing the film’s main antagonist.

Bryan Singer today tweeted an image of himself and Dinklage with the caption “Reviewing tomorrow’s work on the flight back to Montreal with #PeterDinklage”. Dinklage isn’t in costume, but it’s easy to see that he’ll be sporting quite the ‘stache. Take a look at the image below, and let us know who you think he’s playing!

Traveller’s Tales is doing a great job at keeping this one under wraps.

The developer has just released a new teaser for the upcoming Lego Marvel Super Heroes. The preview is short but sweet, showing off just a few of the heroes you’ll be able to play in the game. Very little footage from the actual game has been released, so while we know how well Lego Marvel Super Heroes will play (based on all of the other awesome Lego video games), I’m beginning to wonder if there’s something new and exciting in store for us.

Watch the new teaser below, and let us know if you’re looking forward to the game. Lego Marvel Super Heroes is set to hit consoles later this year!

Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. was just ordered to series last week, and ABC is not wasting any time buiding anticipation for it.

First, we saw a neat first teaser during Sunday’s Once Upon A Time season finale. Shortly afterwards, a mysterious viral marketing site popped up online. Now, it’s time for more footage. The newest teaser clocks in at just seven seconds (I’m guessing we’re going to see a lot of these…), and is titled ‘Welcome to Level 7’. Take a look below, and let us know what you think!

The network has also released their Fall schedule, and while no premiere date or episode count has been revealed, Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. will air on Tuesday nights at 8pm. With just months to go until we finally get to see the show, how freaking excited are you?

UPDATE: Just seconds after this article was published, ABC released the full trailer for Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. The preview clocks in at just under 3 minutes, and it looks amazing. Watch it below!

ABC is sure going full force with this one.

Along with the first teaser for Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (damn that’s a lot to type), the network has also launched the first piece of viral marketing for the anticipated series with a blog named The Rising Tide.

The site appears to be run by an anti-S.H.I.E.L.D. organization, as the top of the homepage states “WHO IS S.H.I.E.L.D.? WHAT ARE THEY HIDING? SUPER-POWERS ARE REAL. ALIENS EXIST. WHAT ELSE IS OUT THERE? WE WILL UNCOVER THE TRUTH. WE WILL NOT REMAIN SILENT ANY LONGER.”

It’ll certainly be interesting to see what The Rising Tide comes up with as Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. approaches. Currently the site features a series of short conspiracy videos tying S.H.I.E.L.D. to a plethora of disastrous (and Marvel related) events. Check out the videos below, and let us know what you think!

Clark Gregg reprises his role of Agent Phil Coulson from Marvel’s feature films as he assembles a small, highly select group of Agents from the worldwide law-enforcement organization known as S.H.I.E.L.D. Together they investigate the new, the strange, and the unknown across the globe, protecting the ordinary from the extraordinary. Coulson’s team consists of Agent Grant Ward (Brett Dalton), highly trained in combat and espionage, Agent Melinda May (Ming-Na Wen) expert pilot and martial artist, Agent Leo Fitz (Iain De Caestecker); brilliant engineer and Agent Jemma Simmons (Elizabeth Henstridge) genius bio-chemist. Joining them on their journey into mystery is new recruit and computer hacker Skye (Chloe Bennet). From Executive Producers Joss Whedon (“Marvel’s The Avengers,” ”Buffy the Vampire Slayer”); Jed Whedon & Maurissa Tancharoen, “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” pilot co-writers (“Dollhouse,” “Dr.Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog”); Jeffrey Bell (“Angel,” “Alias”); and Jeph Loeb (“Smallville”) comes Marvel’s first TV series. “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” is produced by ABC Studios and Marvel Television.

Earlier today we showed you a quick first look at Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.; while that first preview was just a few seconds long, it skyrocketed anticipation for tonight’s longer look.

That longer look premiered during tonight’s season finale of Once Upon A Time, and it’s now available online for your viewing pleasure. It’s an unreal first tease at what is set to be one of the coolest television premieres of the year! I don’t want to spoil anything, so simply watch the video below, and let us know what you think!
