The past seven days have been big for amiibo collectors out there. After over a year of anticipation, the Super Smash Bros line is finally complete with the release of Cloud, Corrin and Bayonetta. If that wasn’t enough, three new Inklings hit the scene day and date with Splatoon 2, while the Pikmin themselves made their solo debut in plastic form today, lining up with the release of Hey! Pikmin on the 3DS.

As if the addiction wasn’t apparent enough, we’ve gathered all ten and have unboxed them for your viewing pleasure. Check out the video below to see them up close, and let us know which ones are your favorites in the comments! Don’t forget to subscribe!

July’s Games with Gold for Xbox was a bit light compared to its competitor Playstation Plus, but Microsoft is heating it up for August!

Throughout the month, Xbox One and 360 owners will be given a nice little buffet of all sorts of games to dig into. For Xbox 360 (and One owners) this includes the original Bayonetta and Red Faction: Armageddon. Xbox One users will also get to enjoy Slime Rancher and Trails Fusion.  Are you excited for this months line-up?

Personally, I can’t wait to finally sink countless hours into Bayonetta since I was never able to get my hands on the original or its sequel Bayonetta 2. Check out the video below for more details on when these’ll be available for download.

When it comes to Nintendo products, you know we’re all still hopelessly addicted to amiibo, the interactive figurines that have cornered entire sections of our homes. Like a pusher in the center of New Donk City trying to set us up with our next fix, the company had all of their new toys to life characters on display ahead of their 2017 releases.

This hodgepodge of plastic run the gaming gamut. From Bayonetta to Final Fantasy‘s Cloud, the just announced Tiki and Chrom from Fire Emblem, Samus and a Metroid, the four Champions from Breath of the Wild, and Bowser in a pimp suit, it’s hard not to see how there’s something for everyone when it comes to yanking those $15 out of your pocket. And those Link’s. So many Link’s…

Check out our gallery below and check them out for yourselves! I’m hoping that we get even more surprises as the year pushes forward, (namely those Monster Hunter Stories and BoxBoy amiibo that are currently exclusive to Japan). Which ones are you looking forward to the most? Do you already have your pre-orders down? And how are you going to explain bringing a dozen more toys in the house to your roommate/parents/significant other!? Share your strategies with us below so we don’t lose all of our relationships.

Nintendo has just revealed through their twitter account that the long-anticipated Smash Bros. DLC will be incoming on February 3!  The available DLC includes the new fighters Bayonetta and Corrin, as well as a new wave of Mii fighter costumes.

These characters were first revealed during a recent Nintendo Direct, which made everybody excited about the newcomers!

Both characters bring a unique fighting style to Smash, with Bayonetta specializing in her bullet arts and witch time, and Corrin using arts that related to distance and dragon transformations!  Super Smash Bros. for 3DS and Wii U is Nintendo’s wildly successful fighting game franchise, where video game characters from different Nintendo franchises can face off against each other in smashing multiplayer action — and these two, along with the many other DLC characters, really spice up the formula!

Are you as excited as we are?  Will you be purchasing the DLC?  Please let us know in the comments!

Today marked the final Super Smash Bros.-dedicated Nintendo Direct and, boy, was it a doozy. Not only did it go into further detail about Final Fantasy VII‘s Cloud Strife‘s upcoming inclusion, it also announced the overall top pick for the Fighter’s Ballot poll along with another combatant. So without further ado, here are the new fighter’s joining the roster:

Bayonetta (of the Bayonetta series)

Bayonetta

Coming up as the top pick in Europe and amongst the top five in North America, Bayonetta was the winner of the Fighter’s Ballot. The Umbra Witch’s fighting style will focus on stringing together combos of various attacks. Her move “Witch Time” slows down the movement of any opponents nearby. Bayonetta’s signature stage, The Umbra Clock Tower, features moving platforms and and an alternate version of the stage. Bayonetta and her exclusive stage are scheduled to launch in February 2016. The download can be purchased for the Wii U or 3DS for $5.99 or both systems for $6.99.

Corrin (of Fire Emblem Fates)

Corrin

If you are asking the question, “Who the heck is Corrin?,” odds are that you haven’t been following the development of Fire Emblem Fates. This fighter (you can select the gender, just like Wii Fit Trainer and Villager) has the ability to transform into a dragon and pull off powerful attacks including ones that pin your opponents. Corrin looks to be available to download in February 2016, on individual platforms for $4.99 each or together for $5.99.

Cloud Strife (of Final Fantasy VII)

WiiU_Cloud_screen_04_bmp_jpgcopy

We were briefly acquainted with Cloud in the previous Nintendo Direct, but today we were able to look more deeply at the mechanics of his fighting style as well as see what makes Midgar, his exclusive stage, special. As we saw before, Cloud will have two costumes available, his original SOLDIER uniform along with his outfit from Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children. And just like in FFVII, our hero will have his “Limit Break” ability, which can be activated once the limit meter is full. The meter fills as Cloud takes and gives damage as well as when he performs his Down Special Attack. Let’s talk about the Midgar battle stage. Throughout the stage, summon material will appear, allowing players to wreak arena-wide damage from which only the summoner is protected. Expect cameos from summon spirits like Ifrit, Ramuh, and Shiva. Cloud’s DLC will be available later today, costing either $5.99 for individual consoles or $6.99 for both the Wii U and 3DS.

If you thought that was it, you are wrong. Dead wrong, in fact! There were a host of new Mii Fighter costumes revealed too. From top to bottom, they are: Ashley, Geno (yes, Geno from Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars is in Smash (sort of)!), Chocobo Hat, Bionic Armor (available for both genders), Takamaru, Tails, Knuckles, and Gil. The Geno and Chocobo Hat costumes will launch with the Cloud DLC while the others will be released in February 2016.

But wait, there’s more! Like all Smash Bros. characters, Bayonetta, Cloud, and Corrin will be getting Amiibo. Our wallets weep.

What is your favorite part of the news? Post in the comments!

It’s hard to believe it’s already been 4 months since the passing of Nintendo president and CEO Satoru Iwata.

Ever since his untimely death on July 11th, many people are still finding it hard to believe that he has passed on. Since then, there have been many loving tributes to Iwata whether they were images, videos, or even music. Today, Metal Gear Solid and Bayonetta composer  Norihiko Hibino and japanese pianist AYAKI have come together to compose a loving tribute track for the deceased president. The title is called: Prescription for Peace: A Tribute to the Departed and contains a very touching Iwata tribute to the tune of Earthbound’s Onett.

The song is available to listen for $1 or more to cover licensing fees to Nintendo, however, all additional revenue will go to The American Cancer Society. If you’d like to listen and purchase the track for yourself, Check it out right HERE! Rest in peace Mr. Iwata, we all miss you.iwata (1)

The wait has been a long one for Bayonetta 2, the Wii U exclusive action title and follow up to one of the best action games of the last generation. Since our preview at last year’s E3, it looks like the game has advanced nicely, with the newest trailer showing off many of the huge battles, twisted environments and over the top attacks we’ll have at our disposal. But the crazy thing is that there was much bigger news that we got from the trailer.

At launch, every copy of Bayonetta 2 will come bundled with the original Bayonetta, which will be the first time the game has appeared on a Nintendo console. Giving new fans the chance to catch up with the series while being able to experience one of the best action games since Devil May Cry 3 is a welcomed surprise, one that’s been highly requested, yet strangly avoided by the official information coming out for the sequel. I guess they really were listening to us!

In addition, Bayonetta will receive a set of special Nintendo themed costumes for her to hack and slash in. Showing off her Peach, Samus and Link witch outfits, the Link one in particular showed Bayo putting her Master Sword to good use. Will there be more costumes, and will the rest of them have additional attacks and abilities?

It looks like a sweet package is getting even sweeter. Has the inclusion of these costumes or the original Bayonetta swayed your decision to pick up the sequel? Or even a Wii U altogether? We’ll finally get our chance when Bayonetta 2 releases this October.

At the beginning of the week, I was thinking that there hadn’t been a Nintendo Direct conference since E3. Apparently since my mind willed it so, it was soon announced that yesterday’s Direct would take place, but after a two month wait, nearly 30 minutes of news wasn’t enough. It’s safe to say that the next Direct is poised to be “wonderful.”

Tomorrow at 10 AM Eastern and 7PM Pacific, a second Nintendo Direct for the week will play, which will be completely dedicated to the upcoming action title from Platinum Games, The Wonderful 101. The creators of Viewtiful Joe, Okami and Bayonetta have been working on this one since before the Wii U’s launch, so it will be exciting to find out what new information they have to share with the release date drawing closer.

In the mean time, check out our hands on previews of the game from last year’s E3 and at this year’s Comic Con. Be sure to check back tomorrow as we find out even more about what makes this highly anticipated game tick.

The Wonderful 101 is scheduled to hit the Wii U on September 15th.
