Two More Images From ‘The Wolverine’ Officially Released

Last night we saw the official release of a brand new image from James Mangold’s The Wolverine and now Fox has released two more images that were previously seen as low-res scans. The promotional push has begun for the film with the trailer set to debut next week.

A few days back we saw a low-res scan of a new image from James Mangold’s The Wolverine and now to build up anticipation for the release of the film’s trailer, Fox has officially released the still image. The film promises to be the “badass” Wolverine film that we all want to see and from what we’ve seen so far, it may live up to that claim.

Well, it appears the muscles from Brussels has his eyes set on a new role. The actor and Belgian martial artist wrote on Facebook earlier today:

“It was my pleasure to meet Mr. Stan Lee back in 1994, along with Mr. Samuel & Mr. Victor Hadida! I read that Chris Hemsworth (star of “Thor” and brother of Liam Hemsworth, “The Expendables 2”) would like me to costar in “The Avengers 2” movie!

Well, it would be fun to play one of these types of amazing comic book characters again. By the way, I am a big fan of Marvel’s superhero Silver Surfer and also another heroic fictional character known as Doc Savage – the Man of Bronze!”

Marc Webb Teases Ravencroft Institute In Latest ‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2’ Set Image

Director Marc Webb has been teasing fans with images from the set of The Amazing Spider-Man 2 that don’t really give much away. Well, that was until today. The director tweeted an image earlier teasing the appearance of Ravencroft Institute. In the comics Ravencroft is a government backed mental hospital for supervillains that has housed many of Spidey’s rogue gallery at one point of another.

Oscar Winning VFX Team Comes On Board For ‘X-Men: Days Of Future Past’

Canadian website La Presse has learned that X-Men: Days Of Future Past has a brand new addition. No, not to the ever growing cast of the film. The website La Presse has received word that the Moving Picture Company (MPC), the team that just recently won an Oscar for their work on Life Of Pi, will have a team of fifty of their employees heading down to Montreal to work on Bryan Singer’s highly-anticipated  “inbetwequel”. If this ends up working out for the company, they may also end up opening an office in Montreal.

Ken Watanabe Joins The Cast Of Legendary’s ‘Godzilla’

As production on the film begins today on Legendary’s Godzilla, we’ve learned the latest cast addtion. THR’s Bory Kit has revealed that actor Ken Watanabe, who has appeared in such films as Batman Begins and Inception, has joined the impressive cast of the Gareth Edwards directed film.

 

 


 

BURBANK, CA, March 18, 2013 –Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures announced today the final principal cast for the upcoming tent pole “Godzilla.” Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Ken Watanabe, Elizabeth Olsen, and Juliette Binoche are starring in the film, with David Strathairn and Bryan Cranston.
 

 

The companies also announced that principal photography began today on location in Vancouver.

 

 
Gareth Edwards is directing the film from a screenplay by Max Borenstein, Frank Darabont and Dave Callaham. Legendary’s Thomas Tull and Jon Jashni are producing with Mary Parent and Brian Rogers. Alex Garcia and Patricia Whitcher are serving as executive producers alongside Yoshimitsu Banno and Kenji Okuhira.

 

 
A presentation of Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures, “Godzilla” will be distributed worldwide by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Company, except in Japan, where it will be distributed by Toho Co., Ltd. Legendary Pictures is a division of Legendary Entertainment.
 

 

Slated to open on May 16, 2014, the film is expected to be presented in 3D.

We’ve got two new low-res images for you to check out from from James Mangold’s The Wolverine. The images are featured in the latest issue of Total Film and feature a rain drenched Logan (possibly standing next to Silver Samurai’s armor?) with the other image showing off a bloody-clawed Logan. We can’t wait til the trailer drops later this month with the film promising to be “the badass Wolverine” that we all want to see.

Bryan Singer Reveals Three More ‘X-Men: Days Of Future Past’ Cast Additions

Bryan Singer has just tweeted an image which features a collage of the cast members of the highly-anticipated X-Men: Days Of Future Past. Included among these pictures are the recently added Peter Dinklage and Omar Sy (who have their roles covered up) as well as three new additions to the cast. Among these three new additions is actor Daniel Cudmore who will be reprising the role of Colossus in the film.

Also joining the cast is actress Fan Bingbing as the teleporting mutant Clarice Ferguson, better known as Blink, and actor Booboo Stewart, who may be best known from his appearances in the Twilight series, in a currently unknown role. There’s definitely a chance Stewart could be playing the role of Sunspot, who was originally set to appear in X-Men: First Class, and be the rumored character that Singer would be using the motion capture tech for. We also see some empty gaps on the wall. Who else does Singer have up his sleeve? We’re still hoping that one of them is James Marsden, being that Singer said he was going to “correct a few things”. With production on the film set to begin next month, we should be learning the full cast of the film very soon.

Dave Batista Lands The Role Of Drax The Destroyer In Marvel’s ‘Guardians Of The Galaxy’

There’s been a lot of talk regarding who would be getting the the role of Drax The Destroyer in James Gunn’s Guardians Of The Galaxy. After some back and forth negotiations between a number of actors, which included Jason Momoa, Patrick Wade and Isaiah Mustafah, the role in the film has been cast. It has now been confirmed that mixed martial artist and former WWE wrestler Dave Batista, who was most recently seen in The Man With The Iron Fists and will appear in the upcoming Riddick, has closed the deal to play the character in the highly-anticipated Marvel Studios film.

The character is described as, “a human resurrected as a green warrior with the sole purpose of killing Thanos. His powers include flight, super-strength and energy blasts.” Batista will join Chris Pratt, who will be playing the role of Peter Quill aka Star-Lord, in the upcoming Marvel Studios film. With production set to begin in the next few months, we should expect to learn the rest of the cast for the film very soon.

The featurette doesn’t feature much as far as new footage, but definitely should increase your excitement for the film. Colin Trevorrow To Helm ‘Jurassic Park 4’

Once rumored to be directing Star Wars: Episode VII for Disney, Safety Not Guaranteed director Colin Trevorrow stated shortly after “To clarify, there is another film we all love that I’m currently trying not to mess up.” Well, it seems that he was actually referring to the fourth installment in the Jurassic Park franchise. Trevorrow will soon start work on the film, with a screenplay was written by Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes scribes Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver, and produced by Frank Marshall, Patrick Crowley and Steven Spielberg.

The site states that Universal chose the director because “they felt he was a good match for the material, having grown up a huge fan of the trilogy and part of a new generation of directors steeped in all things dinosaur. They felt he would preserve and protect the characters in the story they created.”

‘Evil Dead’ Is Coming To WonderCon

TriStar Pictures has announced that they will be bringing the Fede Alvarez directed Evil Dead to WonderCon at the end of the month. They made the announcement with the following video, which features an intro by director Fede Alvarez and producers Bruce Campbell and Rob Tapert, as well as showing off some new footage from the highly-anticipated horror film.

 

In the much anticipated remake of the 1981 cult-hit horror film, five twenty-something friends become holed up in a remote cabin. When they discover a Book of the Dead, they unwittingly summon up dormant demons living in the nearby woods, which possess the youngsters in succession until only one is left intact to fight for survival.

 

Evil Dead is going to scare the **** out of you in theaters on April 5th, or if you’re lucky enough you may be able to see it the week before at WonderCon.

Sony Releases Another Brand New Poster For M. Night Shyamalan’s ‘After Earth’

Following the release of a second theatrical trailer for the film, another brand new poster has been released for M. Night Shyamalan’s After Earth. The post-apocalyptic film, which stars Will Smith and son Jaden, sees a father and son work together to survive on a dangerous planet that humanity once called home.

In the near future, humanity was forced to abandon the planet forever after cataclysmic events, and they reestablished mankind on the planet Nova Prime, light years away from Earth, and managed to rebuild society. Earth was left in its prime state, and continued to live on its own. 1,000 years later, a crash-landing of a small ship leaves teenager Kitai Raige and his father, army General Cypher Raige stranded. With Cypher critically injured, Kitai must embark on a perilous journey to signal for help so they can return to Nova Prime, facing uncharted terrain, evolved animal species that now rule the planet, and an unstoppable alien creature that escaped during the crash. The father and son must learn to work together and learn to trust one another if they want any chance of escaping Earth and returning home.

 

After Earth is set to hit theaters June 7th.

Did James McAvoy Confirm Alan Cumming’s Return For ‘X-Men: Days Of Future Past’?

We’re just a few weeks away from production beginning on Bryan Singer’s highly-anticipated X-Men: Days Of Future Past, and we’re still learning about new cast additions to the film. Not long ago it was hinted by the director that we might see Alan Cumming returning as fan-favorite character Nightcrawler in the next film, and it appears now that James McAvoy may have confirmed his return. The actor may have not read the script for the film yet, but he definitely knows some details regarding it. In a recent radio interview McAvoy stated:

 

“It’s huge, the cast is huge. You got me, [Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender,] Nicholas Hoult will be back and he’s just blossoming massively over [in america]. Patrick Stewart, Ian Mckellen, Halle Berry, Alan Cumming, Peter Dinklage I hear mentioned – I don’t know if that’s happening – “Huge” Jackman is coming by. He’s massive, 7’5″ and muscle-ly.”

 

It seems pretty straight but forward, but until see get an official confirmation tweet from Bryan Singer we’re going to hold our breath and keep our fingers crossed regarding this one.

Paramount has released two more brand new clips from Jon Chu’s G.I. Joe: Retaliation. The first clip sees Dwayne Johnson as Roadblock, who is well known for his rhymes, reciting some lyrics from a Jay-Z track. The second clip is more action-packed and features a segment from a cliffside battle between Snake Eyes, Jinx and a group of ninjas. Check them both out below.
