The official Warner Bros. French website has uploaded the previously-seen image from Man Of Steel, but now uncropped and with an interesting description. Keep in mind though the description is being translated from French.

A boy discovers he has supernatural powers and he was not born on Earth. Later, he undertakes a journey to understand where it comes from and why he was sent on our planet. But it will be a hero if he wants to save the world from total destruction and embody the hope for all mankind …

Man Of Steel hits theaters June 14th, 2013.

We’re just six months from the insanely anticipated release of Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel, and Warner Bros. has just released a new poster!

In the image, you can clearly see that Supes’ is wearing handcuffs, and looks as though he’s being transported by a human military. Where is he going? What did he do? When will we know!

I know I can’t wait for the film, how about you? What do you think of this new poster?

Man of Steel flies into theatres on June 14th!

“In the pantheon of superheroes, Superman is the most recognized and revered character of all time. Clark Kent/Kal-El (Cavill) is a young twentysomething journalist who feels alienated by powers beyond anyone’s imagination. Transported to Earth years ago from Krypton, an advanced alien planet, Clark struggles with the ultimate question – Why am I here? Shaped by the values of his adoptive parents Martha (Lane) and Jonathan Kent (Costner), Clark soon discovers that having super abilities means making very difficult decisions. But when the world needs stability the most, it comes under attack. Will his abilities be used to maintain peace or ultimately used to divide and conquer? Clark must become the hero known as “Superman,” not only to shine as the world’s last beacon of hope but to protect the ones he loves.”

Earlier yesterday, rumor hit the internet that we would see Joseph Gordon-Levitt reprise his role as John Blake as a cameo in Man Of Steel that would lead into him playing Batman in the planned Justice League movie. Now, not only was that a ridiculous rumor but a source at Warner Bros. flat out denied it to me last night after I contacted them.

And being how ridiculous of a rumor it is, it shouldn’t come as a huge surprise to learn that Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s reps have flat out denied his involvement with Justice League. Hollywood.com, “checked in with Gordon-Levitt’s reps who have refuted the rumor entirely.”

From what I have been told, Man Of Steel will be the jumping off point for DC’s “shared cinematic universe”. So, don’t hope for any ties to Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight Trilogy because they probably won’t be there. We will definitely be getting a new Bruce Wayne/Batman for the film but there’s been no word as far as actual casting for the role yet.

Well, it looks like we’ve got some interesting news over on the DC Comics film front. Latino-Review have just broken quite the interesting story. According to the site, Guillermo del Toro (Hellboy, Pacific Rim) will soon begin work on a DC Comics adaptation for Warner Bros. The film, called Heaven Sent, will bring together some of the most well-known supernatural characters from the DC Universe.

The film is said to feature Deadman, The Spectre, Swamp Thing, John Constantine (no word as far as if we will see Keanu reprise the role), The Phantom Stranger, Zatanna, Sargon and Etrigan The Demon. Suprisingly, Buddy Baker aka Animal Man is nowhere on the list even after how successful his current comic series is. I’m actually pretty surprised being that this is most of the line-up of the comic series that they aren’t titling this Justice League Dark.

Apparently, at the moment Warner Bros. lawyers are hard at work ensuring that they actually have the rights to use these characters. The film is quite some time away but it definitely sounds interesting.

It appears so. While, this could totally be fan made…highly doubt that it is. Definitely looks much like what we’ve seen already. With a full-length trailer set to debut very soon it is highly likely that the opening animation for Zack Snyder’s Man Of Steel has made its way online. Either way…check it out.

Man Of Steel hits theaters June 14th, 2013.

We’ve got another casting rumor floating around this week. But just like the last rumor, this one doesn’t sound entirely unlikely. It appears that Warner Bros. has their sights on actor Armie Hammer (The Lone Ranger) to play Batman in their upcoming Justice League film. Keep in mind that Armie Hammer came very close to donning the cape and cowl once already. He was up for the role in Warner Bros. Justice League: Mortal movie that never came about.

The actor has on numerous occasions expressed his disappointment in interviews, explaining that they were only days from shooting when the roof caved in on the project. According to Moviehole they have sources that tell them that Warner Bros. has Hammer at the top of their list to for the in their upcoming Justice League film.

“Hearing, from a very good source, today that Hammer, who is now a hot commodity after such flicks as “The Social Network” and “Mirror Mirror”, not to mention his upcoming lead role in “The Lone Ranger”, is ”back on WB’s radar” for the part of Batman. Not for a solo flick, but for the ensemble “Justice League” movie [again].”

The site also goes on to say that Hammer may only be wanted for the studio’s Justice League meaning that we could see another Batman cast later on down the line for solo films. Hoping for a DC Cinematic Universe? You may not get it if that turns out to be true. Well, you may still get it but not a very consistent one. We will be sure to keep you updated as we learn more. But like any rumor…take this very lightly for the moment.

Warner Bros. has tapped Jay Chandrasekhar to rewrite and direct the sequel to 2010’s Yogi Bear. The original film was written by Jeffrey Ventimilia (Rio) and Joshua Sternin (The Tooth Fairy), with Eric Brevig (Men In Black) directing. The film wasn’t very well received critically but went on to make over $200 million worldwide.

Jay Chandrasekhar, who you probably know best as a member of Broken Lizard, has also directed The Babymakers, Super Troopers, Beerfest, Club Dread as well as the 2005 Dukes Of Hazzard film. Chandrasekhar has also directed episodes of Up All Night, Royal Pains and Community. So, this film could actually turn out to be pretty damn funny.

The 2010 film featured the voice acting credits of Dan Aykroyd, Justin Timberlake and Anna Faris, but there is currently no word as far as if any of this cast will be returning. But why wouldn’t they?

Warner Bros. has announced that Doug Liman‘s sci-fi action film All You Need Is Kill will be hitting theaters March 14, 2014. The film, which is based off the manga of the same name, stars Tom Cruise as a soldier in a war against aliens who relives the day of his death over and over. The film also stars Emily Blunt and Bill Paxton.

This release date will put All You Need Is Kill head to head against Disney’s Maleficent starring Angelina Jolie. Will Tom Cruise’s star power be able to defeat a Disney flick? We’re going to have to wait and see on this one. This could turn out to be a very interesting weekend at the box office.

The synopsis for All You Need Is Kill:

The story unfolds in a near future in which a hive-like alien race, called Mimics, have hit the Earth in an unrelenting assault, shredding great cities to rubble and leaving millions of human casualties in their wake. No army in the world can match the speed, brutality or seeming prescience of the weaponized Mimic fighters or their telepathic commanders. But now the world’s armies have joined forces for a last stand offensive against the alien horde, with no second chances.

Lt. Col. Bill Cage (Cruise) is an officer who has never seen a day of combat when he is unceremoniously demoted and then dropped—untrained and ill-equipped—into what amounts to little more than a suicide mission. Cage is killed within minutes, managing to take an Alpha down with him. But, impossibly, he awakens back at the beginning of the same hellish day, and is forced to fight and die again…and again. Direct physical contact with the alien has thrown him into a time loop—dooming him to live out the same brutal combat over and over.

But with each pass, Cage becomes tougher, smarter, and able to engage the Mimics with increasing skill, alongside Special Forces warrior Rita Vrataski (Blunt), who has lain waste to more Mimics than anyone on Earth. As Cage and Rita take the fight to the aliens, each repeated battle becomes an opportunity to find the key to annihilating the alien invaders and saving the Earth.

The latest of many rumors attached to the upcoming Justice League film is an interesting one. It appears that an undercover Warner Bros. marketing/research team made it’s way into an undisclosed comic book shop and began asking a series of question to gauge what fans reactions are to Marvel Studios, the talked about Justice League film and Frank Miller. The team apparently entered the shop posing as fans, but it became apparent to the staff by the time they finished their first question that they were definitely not.

The team began asking questions regarding whether fans would accept a DC superhero movie without Christopher Nolan directing and if he served as a producer, would that placate fans?

Apparently they also began asking about the team line-up and made sure and mentioned Aquaman but also went on to mock the Ant-Man film only to become worried when the staff said it would probably be cool. The most interesting of the questions seemed to be the final question. They asked:

“What would fan reaction be to a Justice League movie with Frank Miller’s name attached?”

If this turned out to be true. What would it really mean to have Frank Miller’s name attached? Is he rewriting Will Beall’s (Gangster Squad) script, producing or directing? I guess we’re going to have to wait and find out.

Former SNL cast member Jenny Slate has been hired to write yet another Looney Tunes reboot. The film will once again utilize the live-action/CGI hybrid that we saw with Space Jam and Back In Action. So, wait does this mean we won’t see a Space Jam sequel?

A director hasn’t been announced for the film yet, but it is known that both David Katzenberg and Seth Grahame-Smith, who wrote the screenplays for both Dark Shadows and Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, will be producing the film. Can this film bring new life to the characters like The Muppets recently saw? Or will it be time to say that’s all folks?

Warner Bros. has released the first clip from the animated adaptation of Frank Miller’s The Dark Knight Returns and does it look good. I mean, it looks really good and could even go on to top my personal favorite, Under The Red Hood. The story takes place a decade after Bruce Wayne gave up being Batman and entered retirement. The Dark Knight Returns is one of the best Batman stories ever told. It definitely is on top of the all-time must-read comics list and from the looks of it this may join it on top of the must-see animated movies.

It’s been a decade since Bruce Wayne hung up his cape, following most of the other superheroes who had been forced into retirement. Facing the downside of middle age, a restless Bruce Wayne pacifies his frustration with race cars and liquor – but the bat still beckons as he watches his city fall prey to gangs of barbaric criminals known as The Mutants.

The return of Harvey Dent as Two-Face finally prompts Wayne to once again don the Dark Knight’s cowl, and his dramatic capture of the villain returns him to crime-fighting – simultaneously making him the target of law enforcement and the new hope for a desolate Gotham City. Particularly inspired is a teenage girl named Carrie, who adopts the persona of Robin and ultimately saves Batman from a brutal attack by the Mutant leader. Armed with a new sidekick, and re-energized with a definitive purpose, the Dark Knight returns to protect Gotham from foes new…and old.

The Dark Knight Returns: Part One will be released September 25th.

DC just announced at Fan Expo in that they will be  a brand new version of the Justice League Of America in 2013. Geoff Johns will write, with pencils by David Finch featuring a team that consists of Green Arrow, Martian Manhunter, Catwoman, Bash (the newest Green Lantern), Vibe, Stargirl, and Katana. But don’t worry, this does not mean they are cancelling Justice League. Apparently JLA will run alongside Justice League.

Geoff Johns on the new series:

The idea of why the JLA forms, and what it is, and what it’s in reaction to… It kind of spins out of Justice League #12; what happens in that, and then subsequent issues, because JLA comes out next year some time. But the book itself is a group of heroes that aren’t necessarily coming together because they want to be together… They’ve been selected specifically. They all want, or need something that Steve Trevor, and the other person behind the scenes that’s in charge of this team can provide.

The first arc is going to deal with something they learn is called The Secret Society of Super-Villains.

Johns discussing the team selected:

The characters that are selected like Stargirl, and Vibe, and Green Arrow, they have a lot of personality. If you remember the first couple of issues of Justice League, with their larger than life personalities, and the development… This takes it to the fifteenth degree, because we’re dealing with characters that are… Like, you don’t know where Vibe is coming from. He’s recruited to the JLA by his older brother, and he says, “Why would they want me? I’m just this kid from Detroit. I’ve stopped three liquor store robberies, and one was by mistake.” His brother looks at him and says, “Maybe they see potential in you that you and I don’t see.” And he’s like, “Thanks a lot.”

So you get these weird characters that are unexpected, and they’re thrust into the forefront of Justice League of America… You’ll see why they’re selected, and why this team is going to give the real Justice League a run for its money; because the relationships in this team are going to be incredibly significant. There’s going to be a real learning curve with all the teams, but has the benefit of a true leader in Steve Trevor. Steve Trevor has a heart and soul that’s going to bring these characters that, on first glance, might not ever gel – what does Stargirl ever have in common with Catwoman? How’s that going to work?

I love characters that are more obscure. On Justice League, Shazam will be joining, and the team dynamics will be changing quite a bit on that team, but this is going to be such a great opportunity to work on characters like Katana, who I think is such a great asset, and getting deeper into characters like Vibe… Reintroducing Stargirl… Seeing the new Green Lantern with Green Arrow, and revisiting that relationship with Green Arrow and Hawkman, because we think we know it, we think they’re always at odds… And we want to turn it on its head a little bit, and delve into it more, and see what makes those two characters tick, to find out there’s something in common they both have despite their differences.

So creating dynamics between these characters, and really making it a character driven, intense, intriguing book… One of the words I have on the outline for the series is intrigue. What I mean by that is I always want you to wonder why. Why is this happening, what is their motivation, what are they after, what do they need, what do they want? I just look forward to writing a book that harkens to some of my favorite team books, and mystery books… And hopefully its something that you won’t know what to expect, and when you get it you’ll think it’s what it should be, but you never could have imagined it.

So, if you haven’t guessed by my bad pun who the latest addition is or by the picture above…it’s Catwoman. Check out the reveal trailer where she lets her claws out below!

Injustice: Gods Among Us release date TBA.

Christopher Nolan made it clear that he had zero intention of mentioning The Joker in The Dark Knight Rises as a sign of respect to the late Heath Ledger. While some people may not be fond of that choice, I think it was in good taste to do so. But still some people wondered “Just where was he?!” Greg Cox’s novelization of the movie may just shed some light and give you an answer. An excerpt:

Now that the Dent Act had made it all but impossible for the city’s criminals to cop an insanity plea, it (Blackgate Prison) had replaced Arkham Asylum as a preferred location for imprisoning both convicted and suspected felons. The worst of the worst were sent here, except for the Joker, who, rumor had it, was locked away as Arkham’s sole remaining inmate. Or perhaps he had escaped. Nobody was really sure. Not even Selina.

Just in case you forgot, during a segment of The Dark Knight Rises Selina Kyle was held at Blackgate Prison for a short time.

Today Warner Bros. has confirmed that they will be moving Gangster Squad from September 7 to January 11, 2013. This comes after the recent shooting in Colorado in order to allow the filmmakers to excise a certain scene from movie that depicts the agents spraying machine-gun fire into a crowded movie theater from behind the screen.

They will be shooting an alternate murder spree scene that does not take place in a movie theater. They are hoping that the six months of breathing room will help return the focus to the L.A. mob storyline. Well, that and girls swooning over Ryan Gosling.

There’s a big rumor floating around the water cooler right now. Apparently an inside source has revealed that there will be “easter eggs” in ‘Man Of Steel’ that hint at a shared DC Universe. However these references will not be big so don’t get your hopes up on cameos or anything of that sort. The source stated that the character Warner Bros. wanted to hint at one character the most. But sorry Bat-fans it definitely wasn’t Bruce Wayne aka Batman. The character they spoke about was Wonder Woman.

While this has not been officially announced it would make sense with the recent news of a Justice League movie hitting our screens. There is also word that we may be seeing this film hitting the screens in 2015.

While they would idealy like to have Nolan involved it seems highly unlikely. He’s been asked in numerous interviews and seemed quite uninterested. With Nolan moving on to other projects, Warner Bros. must move on and Robinov would like to do it soon. But don’t get your hopes up here for any kind of news at Comic-Con. It doesn’t look like it will be that soon.

“My hope is that over the next month or so,” he said, “we’ll be ready to lay out the plan for the next DC movies.”

Update: I can confirm from a source that they did go back and add things into Man Of Steel. But they could not reveal what specifically.

On Saturday, July 7, at 10:00 a.m. Christopher Nolan will receive a rare industry honor and be cemented into The Hollywood Walk Of Fame.

Jeff Robinov, President, Warner Bros. We are extremely proud of the cinematic legacy he has given us through his films. At only 41, Christopher takes his place alongside other industry giants featured at Grauman’s, and generations of fans will remember the extraordinary impression he left on their imaginations.”

‘The Dark Knight Rises’ hits theaters on July 20th.

Source: Market Watch

By now i’m sure everyone has heard that DC realized that Marvel did something genius with ‘The Avengers’ and have tried to get into the ring by pushing forward with a Justice League movie. Great idea right? I mean fans have been wanting this for years. But… can it work? I mean ‘The Avengers’ worked so why can’t this? Well, i’m here to burst your bubble (I apologize in advance) with the five main reasons at this point it will not work.

5. No back story for the main characters.

So lets say The Flash, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Superman, Green Lantern and Batman are the team they pick for this. Because lets be honest The Atom, Green Arrow, Martian Manhunter are going to get left out. Tell me why they’re only pushing forward on a Justice League and Wonder Woman movie before fleshing out the others? I mean… some people complained that Hawkeye had no development in ‘The Avengers’ (I disagree by the way) but just throwing someone like The Flash in there? Aquaman? Okay… I won’t go see Aquaman. You have me there DC! Hawkman? Maybe. That’s fail part one DC.

4. Picking an established writer who knows how to handle something of this scale.

Look… Will Beall could be great. He could be the next big thing for all I know. But what has he done? What makes DC so sure of his guy that we should have faith in him? We were all supposed to trust Brett Ratner with ‘X3’ and we all saw how that turned out. Strike two.

3. Actors. Actors. Actors.

One of the big draw points of seeing ‘The Avengers’ (I keep referring to this because we all know this is what made DC push this project forward) was that we not only trusted the director but we trusted the actors. Minus Mark Ruffalo (who excelled as Bruce Banner) we knew these actors could pull this off and we couldn’t wait to see them together. Minus maybe one or two actors we will know nothing about this casts ability to pull off these roles. And i’ll elaborate more on this when I get to number one.

2. DC’s horrible track record and lack of attempting to establish any form of continuity.

And you would think that Warner Bros. would be making the best of these types of films yet have been disappointing to date. Christopher Nolan and Zack Snyder have been DC’s saviors with the ‘Dark Knight Trilogy’, ‘Watchmen’ and hopefully ‘Man Of Steel’. But other than that? ‘Steel’? ‘Catwoman’? ‘Green Lantern’ aka the biggest let down in a comic movie in years? I’m not saying ‘Green Lantern’ was horrible. Not at all. I’m saying the script was horrible. Ryan Reynolds and Mark Strongs performances made the movie watchable. The OA scenes were fantastic. Having Amanda Waller make an appearance? Great idea. Establish Checkmate. Please. Because Geoff Johns already said he wanted a ‘Suicide Squad’ movie. This should be the jumping off for the DC universe because you can establish Checkmate like Marvel did with Nick Fury/S.H.I.E.L.D and go from there. Will DC do this? Unlikely.

And now it’s time for the number one reason:

1. You can’t have Batman in it! Nope. You can’t!

I’m pretty sure Bale said he wouldn’t do it. And we still have NO idea how ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ ends. But even then… you throw in another actor as Batman with a background that has nothing to do with Nolans trilogy. This results in fans sitting around in a very “WTF?!” feeling. There is no way you can put Batman in here that wont either result in pissed off fans or very confused fans. And what about Superman? Will ‘Man Of Steel’ fit into a ‘Justice League’? Knowing Snyder and Nolan probably not. So lets actually take BOTH characters out. Oh wow…we’re getting the b-squad or even maybe a ‘Justice League: International”. Great. Is the average movie goer who has a kid that wear Batman tightie whities going to go see this? Eh. Maybe six days after it comes out when he has to watch the kids.

So now that i’ve come to the end I must establish that in no way am I hating on DC here. My main problem with DC has been their lack of to just establish some form of solid continuity (I mean… i’m still scared theres going to be a Flashpoint Crisis On New 52 coming) and even in their movies it is what is majorly lacking. I personally believe they should step back, take a breath and follow Marvels footsteps. Establish your characters and build a non-comic reading fanbase.

You want to push out some movies? Go after some of your dark stuff. I’d love a Swamp Thing reboot. ‘Constantine’ was great to me (Haters gon’ hate)… and there has been talk of a sequel last year. Y: The Last man? You know you want to do it.

All in all I just wish DC would just not rush things. It took us four years to get to ‘The Avengers’ and no one was mad about what it took to get us to one of the greatest comic movies of all time. Just sayin’ DC.

Oh boy… as reported by Deadline Hollywood, Warner Brothers has selected Journey 2 director Brad Peyton as the director of the feature adaptation of DC Comics’ “Lobo”. You know, that foul-talking, ultra-violent bounty hunter… who may now possibly ride a giant bee instead of a space cycle.

This is the first we’ve heard of the feature Lobo project in a while. In 2009, WB announced that Guy Ritchie would be the director (which would have been awesome). Before that, there was a Superman VS Lobo script circulating the studio but Superman ended up being rebooted by Brian Singer (and will now be rebooted again by Zack Snyder). Peyton will also be re-writing the current draft of the script.

What do you guys think? Good news? Bad news? Do you think we’ll actually see the crazy bastich on film this time?

DC Animation always knocks it out of the park, so this could be a winner… an upcoming multi-console video game based on the Young Justice cartoon series.
