Square-Enix’s booth at San Diego Comic-Con was a freaking wonderland for fans of any of the company’s franchises (okay, mostly Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts but I did spot the odd Dragon Quest item). An entire half of the booth’s real estate was dedicated to pleasing us toy collectors with displays set up showcasing upcoming products as well as items available to purchase on the show floor. Here are the highlights for the figures not yet produced!

Starting with the Final Fantasy series, we have Cloud, Barret, Sepiroth, and Squall. All four are from Square-Enix’s Play Art -Kai- line which have interchangeable limbs and certain degrees to which it can be posed. These gentlemen share the same tentative price tag of US$149.99 and all have an undecided release date.

There were also Play Arts -Kai- figures from Final Fantasy XV , these guys are scheduled to be released this September.

SDCC 16 Square-Enix World of Final Fantasy Static Arts mini

And the winner for the cutest figures go to these Static Arts mini figures from World of Final Fantasy. Shown here are Tama (the white bunny-squirrel-looking one), Cactuar Conductor, Chocochick, and Magictek Armor (fans of Final Fantasy VI will no doubt recognize that one). Again, release date is “to be determined.”

Moving on to Kingdom Hearts! Lots of prototypes to see. Ones that particularly caught my eye were the Roxas Play Arts -Kai- and the Static Arts mini figures of several critters from the Kingdom Hearts universe: Meow Wow, Chirithy, and the Heartless. Adorable!

Finally we get to franchises that don’t actually belong to SE. We’re talking American comic book heroes. The majority of them were Marvel (Wolverine, Deadpool, Ironman, Spiderman, and Venom) but DC was represented as well (the lone Batman figure).
Did you stop by the booth? What stood out for you? Let us know in the comments!

Briefly: I see you shiver with antici… pation.

That’s right! Finally, finally, finally, Fox has debuted the very first trailer for its upcoming 2-hour The Rocky Horror Picture Show event.

The remake stars Orange Is The New Black‘s Laverne Cox as Frank-N-Furter, and we’ll also see the likes of Victoria Justice, Ryan McCartan, Adam Lambert, Christina Milian, Annaleigh Ashford, Ben Vereen, Ivy Levan, Reeve Carney and Staz Nair during the production,

THE ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW, a brand-new reimagining of the cult-classic midnight movie 40 years in the making, is set to air October 2016. Sweethearts JANET (Victoria Justice, “Victorious”) and BRAD (Ryan McCartan, “Liv & Maddie,” “Heathers the Musical”) stumble upon flirtatious mad scientist DR. FRANK-N-FURTER’s (Emmy Award-nominated actress Laverne Cox, “Orange is the New Black”) bizarre abode during his annual Transylvanian science convention. The two-hour event also features Emmy Award nominee Tim Curry, the original Frank-N-Furter.

Take a look at the trailer below, and be sure to let us know what you think! The Rocky Horror Picture Show will debut this October!

Early this morning, Shane O’Hare and I had the opportunity to visit the Amazon Village offsite event at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con.

The Amazon Village is open today (Thursday) from 9AM to 7PM, Friday from 9AM to 7PM, Saturday from 9AM to 8PM, and Sunday from 9AM to 5PM at 301 1st Ave (1st Ave. and Martin Luther King Promenade).

As you’d probably imagine, an offsite event from one of the most progressive companies at the convention is bound to be a must visit, and we would certainly recommend jumping in line for this one.

Two Amazon exclusive properties are front and centre at SDCC this year, being Thunderbirds Are Go and Man in the High Castle. Both of these properties look freaking fantastic, and both of these properties made me sad to be a Canadian resident, where I can work on Man in the High Castle (it’s filmed in my current home base of Vancouver), but cannot legally watch it.

Two separate, well air conditioned (thank you Amazon) test house the themed installations, and first we visited the Thunderbirds Are Go tent, where fans will have the opportunity to take photos with larger than life versions of their favourite Thunderbirds Are Go characters (including a neat green screen experience), sit in the cockpit of a nearly 1:1 scale Thunderbird 2 (and of course take photos), and learn about all of the sweet, sweet Thunderbirds characters along the way. Several televisions throughout the installation repeated trailers from the Thunderbirds Are Go series, which offers a neat mix of miniatures and stop motion, along with some slick CGIand it made me seriously want to binge the series during my short time in the United States.

Next up, we moved into the Man in the High Castle installation, which was developed by NVE. This impressive tent featured props and artwork from the series, a neat virtual reality experience powered by the HTC Vive, and an ‘Amazon Passport’ game, in which you could receive stamps from the Amazon employees and trade them in for a sweet, sweet lithograph. During the Man in the High Castle demonstration, Shane and I were actually able to live stream the experience, which you can watch right here:

As someone who has spent some time on and around the Man in the High Castle sets, it was tough to look at the intricate costumes and props, and hear of the exceptional plot of the series while knowing that it’s a series that I won’t have the opportunity to watch any time soon.

Briefly: Preceding the official American Gods panel tomorrow (from 3:15-4:15PM in room 6BCF), Starz has debuted the first official poster for its upcoming, incredibly anticipated American Gods.

The series posits a war brewing between old and new gods: the traditional gods of mythological roots from around the world steadily losing believers to an upstart pantheon of gods reflecting society’s modern love of money, technology, media, celebrity and drugs. Its protagonist, Shadow Moon, is an ex-con who becomes bodyguard and traveling partner to Mr. Wednesday, a conman but in reality one of the older gods, on a cross-country mission to gather his forces in preparation to battle the new deities.

I’m actually not overly familiar with the book myself, but based on that description, it’s definitely jumped to the top of my must-read list.

You can take a look at the poster below, and be sure to check back for more SDCC and American Gods coverage as it’s announced!

AmericanGods

Today marks the first (unofficial) day of San Diego Comic-Con 2016. Preview night is usually relegated to damaging your liver and scoping out all the sick deals before you try to wait in line for Hall H.

I got to check out the VR Convention, just across the street from the convention center. There were multiple vendors there all showing off their great VR products and innovations. The group that caught my eye the most was Radiant Images.

They’re a manufacturing and rental house out of LA that focuses on 360 cameras. We were able to check out a few of their products.

The one that most of you will be able to check out, is the Mobius POV VR. A head mounted full 360 head shell that captures the wearers entire view.

Mobius POV VR

The device was INCREDIBLY light, and has a brace that runs down the wearers back. Keeping the device very still. The directors/editors can choose how to stitch together the footage, so that you can get the feeling of being on the shoulders of the character. It’s not just going to be the cheesy First Person Shooter footage feeling.

There will be an upcoming scene in Suicide Squad that will feature footage shot on this rig.

The other very compelling camera setup they offer is the Jaunt One, code named Viper (after the probe droids from Star Wars). It features 24 cameras that all output at either 8 or 4K resolution.

Jaunt One VR

The thing that piqued my interest the most about this rig, was its portability. This can be hooked up to a wire mobile rig or even a drone. It can be used for high speed environments, like sporting events.

The last setup we were demoed was the Nokia OZO. A handheld unit that is designed for mimicking the human eye.

Nokia OZO

Each of the OZO’s 8 sensors are 64 millimeters apart. The perfect focal distance to mimic the human eye. The handle of the unit features a 500 GB SSD quick swap drive. So that when one hard drive is full, you can swap them out for an empty one and keep on shooting. These cameras were used to film all the VR and 360 footage at the Euro 2016 football tournament.

Radiant Images is an incredible team of people that really want to push the future of 360 and VR footage. Designing and renting out their own, in house made camera rigs. They have those that fly and they have those that zip across the sand at incredible speed.

Be sure to check out their official website for look at some of their other incredible products.

Briefly: Captain America fan? You’ll want to make sure that you head to the Marvel booth (#2329) so that you can get your eyes on this incredible display.

Headlining the Captain America 75th anniversary celebration, Marvel has collaborated with high-end collectibles maker Comicave Studios to create a one-of-a-kind Captain America statue that will be displayed at the Marvel booth #2329 at Comic-Con International on July 20. Comicave Studios worked closely with Marvel artists in New York and a Brooklyn-based sculptor to design the bronze tribute, standing at over 13 feet and weighing 1 ton. The statue will continue to stand tall on the show floor throughout San Diego Comic-Con for photo ops with fans, and 1/12-scale bronze replicas of the statue will be available for purchase. Plus, a custom comic book was created by Marvel Publishing writers and artists to integrate the statue into new storytelling. This one-of-a-kind comic will be available in limited quantities at San Diego Comic-Con and future Captain America events.

Following SDCC, the commemorative statue will journey via truck across the country to Brooklyn, NY – the hometown of Steve Rogers – for a limited engagement in Brooklyn’s Prospect Park. Fans can follow the truck along its cross-country route through photos on social media sites like Marvel and StyledByMarvel Instagram. The statue will be on display in the Children’s Corner of Prospect Park for a two-week temporary installation, kicking off with a dedication ceremony and community event on August 10th from 1-3pm. In the evening, a special viewing of the recent blockbuster film, Marvel’s Captain America: Civil War, will take place in Prospect Park as part of the culmination of the Brooklyn Borough President Eric L. Adams’ “A Summer Movie Under the Stars” program, which will be airing four Captain America-focused movies every Wednesday from July 20th to August 10th.

“To the rest of America and the world, he’s Captain America; to us, he’ll always be Steve Rogers, ‘just a kid from Brooklyn,’” said Borough President Adams. “Brooklyn is proud to be the base of celebrations for Cap’s 75thanniversary, which will be capped by a larger-than-life statue traveling around our borough — befitting of this larger-than-life character. Prospect Park is the place to be this summer to enjoy the Captain America!”

After the half-month stop in Prospect Park, the Captain America statue will move to the plaza outside Barclays Center on Atlantic and Flatbush Avenues for September, during which several Marvel fan activations take place. From late October through the remainder of the year, the statue will adorn the soon-to-be-opened Bed Bath & Beyond® in Sunset Park, Brooklyn. Fans of all ages will enjoy a specially re-designed statue base, for heightened interactivity and photo opportunities with Captain America, as well as see and shop for a variety of unique Marvel items, including limited quantities of scaled replicas of the bronze statue itself.

“Since 1941 Captain America has remained one of the most influential Super Heroes in comic book history,” said Paul Gitter, senior vice president, licensing, Marvel at Disney Consumer Products. “He has evolved as a character throughout the years, but remains constant as a moral compass within the Marvel Universe and leader of the Avengers. The tribute statue and other activations are the perfect way to honor 75 years of this iconic Super Hero and to celebrate the borough of Brooklyn in New York City.”

Also joining the 75th celebration at San Diego Comic-Con are Marvel’s leading merchandise partners including Hasbro, Funko, and Jakks Pacific who will be commemorating “Cap” through new collectibles. As previously announced, Comicave Studios will also be offering different scales of replicas of the bronze statue itself at San Diego Comic-Con.  Additional licensees including Mad Engine, Mighty Fine, Freeze, C-Life, Her Universe, What’s Your Passion, Nick Graham, Café Press, Jay Franco, Kiddesigns, HJC Helmets and more will all feature new Captain America merchandise at major retailers this Fall.  These collections will highlight Captain America’s iconic shield and cover categories including apparel and accessories for kids, women and men, home goods, electronics, and toys. There will even be new Brooklyn-themed artwork available for a range of apparel and accessories.

Take a look at the first images of the statue below, and let us know if you’ll be checking this out on the show floor!

If you are into the designer toy scene, you have no doubt heard of Martin Hsu. The artist has done many custom-painted toys as well as beautiful paintings but he is perhaps most well-known for his own Dragon Boy character. And while Dragon Boy and his faithful Dragon Dog, Blacky, have been made into figures, neither of the pair has touched upon the plush medium. That is, until now.

Martin_Hsu_DragonDog_Plush02
For San Diego Comic-Con, Martin is releasing an 8 inch-tall Dragon Dog plush. The limited edition toy will come with a blank name tag (or rather “dog tag”) for you to name your own Dragon Dog.

It is T-17 days to Preview Night for San Diego Comic-Con and the official list of con-exclusives is now available on Comic-Con International’s site. Attendees were granted access to the Exhibit Hall map and booth listings about a week ago.

Here are some of the exclusive items that have been covered on Geekscape:

-Mattel (booth #2945; need wristbands from Sails Pavillion) – Monster High Frankie Stein and Robecca Steam/ Hexiciah Steam two-pack

-Hasbro (booth #3329; need wristbands from Sails Pavillion) – Yo-kai Watch Jewelnyan figure set

-Entertainment Earth (booth #2343) – The Force Awakens C-3PO figure

It should be noted that the page reads, “Check back for more companies and exclusives.” As the days count down, additional booths will be added and some will even update with newly revealed items closer to the con. So don’t panic if what you are hoping for isn’t listed yet!

Did you spot anything to put on your “Must Buy” list?

Briefly: San Diego Comic-Con fast approaches (too fast, I’m not ready), and we’re getting to the point that exclusive announcements seem to be flooding our inboxes by the minute.

This latest announcement from Entertainment Earth may be one of the best exclusives I’ve seen announced for this year’s SDCC thus far.

You probably don’t recognize him… but it’s a convention exclusive The Force Awakens C-3PO that stands 18 inches tall.

Here are some sweet reasons why you should probably pick one up:

– “You probably don’t recognize me with my red arm.”
– Exclusive limited edition chrome C-3PO action figure!
– Fresh from the Battle of Takodana in Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
– First-ever C-3PO action figure at this scale with his classic reflective finish!
– The protocol droid stands 18-inches tall.
– He’s shiny and gold, just like in the movies!

It’s huge, it’s gorgeous, and it’s just $60 at the Entertainment Earth booth (#2343).

This convention exclusive “is a shiny gold robot boasting 7-points of articulation. His chrome finish is as shiny as you please, with a red arm to honor his fallen friend from the days following his adventures on Endor. C-3PO comes packaged in an amazing premium edition box featuring an exquisite Resistance symbol backdrop and gold foil highlights.

At 18-inches tall, it’s “the first time a C-3PO action figure has been offered with his classic reflective finish at this scale. It’s like a mini-replica of the suit Anthony Daniels wears in the film, so you can almost hear his voice in your head! You’ll thank Jakks when you bring home this Resistance spymaster and famous translator.”

Yeah, we’ll take two (one to open and one to leave in the box, duh).

Be sure to let us know if you’ll be picking one up!

Some of the most fantastic panels have taken place inside of Hall H on Saturday night’s these past few years. However, we’re in for a change as it seems DCTV is doing away with our Hall H after dark parties. Instead, Warner Bros. Television has opted for owning Ballroom 20 for what seems to be the majority of Saturday. While this sounds great too, it’s also worth mentioning that Ballroom 20 does not sit nearly as many people has Hall H does. This may spell trouble for anyone looking to attend any one of DCTV’s panels, including Gotham and in addition to iZombie.

What’s also troubling here is that DCTV panels seem to be going on during the daytime on Saturday. This means DC fans may have to choose between a potential Justice League panel and their favorite DCTV show.

That being said, WBTV seems to have spreads its wings this year, even hosting a panels on Sunday! Check these listings and let us know where you’re heading this SDCC!

6:30 p.m.-7:20 p.m. Riverdale Pilot Screening and Q&A — Things aren’t always what you expect in Riverdale. Based on the iconic characters from Archie Comics and produced by Berlanti Productions (The Flash, Supergirl, Blindspot, Everwood), this one-hour drama is a bold, subversive take on the surreality of small-town life. As a new school year begins, the town of Riverdale is reeling from the recent, tragic death of high school golden boy Jason Blossom — and nothing feels the same. Archie Andrews (KJ Apa) is still the all-American teen, but the summer’s events made him realize that he wants to pursue a career in music — and not follow in his dad’s footsteps — despite the sudden end of his forbidden relationship with Riverdale’s young music teacher, Ms. Grundy (Sarah Habel). Which means Archie doesn’t have anyone who will mentor him — certainly not singer Josie McCoy (Ashleigh Murray), who is only focused on her band, the soon-to-be-world-famous Pussycats. It’s all weighing heavily on Archie’s mind — as is his fractured friendship with budding writer and fellow classmate Jughead Jones (Cole Sprouse). Meanwhile, girl-next-door Betty Cooper (Lili Reinhart) is anxious to see her crush Archie after being away all summer, but she’s not quite ready to reveal her true feelings to him. And Betty’s nerves — which are hardly soothed by her overbearing mother, Alice (Mädchen Amick) — aren’t the only thing holding her back. When a new student, Veronica Lodge (Camila Mendes), arrives in town from New York with her mother Hermione (Marisol Nichols), there’s an undeniable spark between she and Archie, even though Veronica doesn’t want to risk her new friendship with Betty by making a play for Archie. And then there’s Cheryl Blossom (Madelaine Petsch)… Riverdale’s Queen Bee is happy to stir up trouble amongst Archie, Betty, and Veronica, but Cheryl is keeping secrets of her own. What, exactly, is she hiding about the mysterious death of her twin brother, Jason? Riverdale may look like a quiet, sleepy town, but there are dangers in the shadows. Riverdale makes its Comic-Con debut with a screening of the complete pilot episode, followed by a Q&A with series stars and executive producers. Riverdale is from Berlanti Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television and CBS Television Studios, with executive producers Greg Berlanti (Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, Blindspot), Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa (Supergirl, Glee), Sarah Schechter (Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, Blindspot) and Jon Goldwater (Archie Comics). 7:25-8:15 p.m. Frequency Pilot Screening and Q&A — Based on the New Line feature film, Frequency is the story of a father and daughter who are supernaturally reunited two decades after his suspicious and untimely death. New York detective Raimy Sullivan was only 7 when her father, Frank Sullivan, an undercover cop, abandoned his family in pursuit of a case that led not only to his family’s breakup, but also his eventual death undercover. Always believing her dad died in disgrace as a corrupt cop, Raimy set forth to surpass him in law enforcement, rising through the ranks to detective. But everything she knows changes when somehow Raimy and Frank connect — across two decades — over Frank’s vintage ham radio in the garage. Where once Frank was lost in the shadows of his undercover work in 1996, he has now miraculously been found by his now-grown daughter in 2016. As they forge a new relationship while working together in two time periods to close an unsolved serial murder investigation, their emotional connection transcends time to not only repair the broken bonds of their family, but also defy fate and change the course of destiny. Frequency makes its Comic-Con debut with a screening of the complete pilot episode, followed by a Q&A with series stars Peyton List (The Tomorrow People, The Flash), Riley Smith (Nashville, The Messengers) and Mekhi Phifer (Torchwood, ER), along with executive producers Jeremy Carver (Supernatural, U.S. version of Being Human) and Jennifer Gwartz (Lethal Weapon, Veronica Mars). 8:20-9:15 p.m. Time After Time Pilot Screening and Q&A — Using the 1979 novel and movie as a launching point, Time After Time chronicles the epic adventures of a young H.G. Wells. At the age of 28, the 19th century scholar has yet to publish any of his landmark science fiction novels, but his idealistic thinking and radical ideas have led him to actually create a time machine. When his longtime friend — the charismatic (and secretly psychopathic) Dr. John Stevenson, aka Jack the Ripper — finds himself cornered by the authorities at Wells’ London home, he escapes to present-day New York City using the time machine. Naturally, Wells follows, but instead of the Utopian society he imagined would be in the future, he finds a world more aligned to Stevenson’s temperament. Fortunately, Wells meets up with Jane Walker, an assistant curator at a museum staging an exhibition on H.G. Wells, the Father of Science Fiction. As Wells and Jane come together, they will not only play a dangerous endgame with Stevenson, but also find themselves involved with the incredible characters and scenarios that inspired Wells’ War of the Worlds, The Invisible Man, The Island of Dr. Moreau and more. An epic love story charged with danger and adventure, Time After Time gives an unpredictable spin on the mythology of H.G. Wells by looking at the world of today through the eyes of yesterday. Time After Time makes its Comic-Con debut with a screening of the complete pilot episode, followed by a Q&A with executive producers Kevin Williamson (The Vampire Diaries, Dawson’s Creek, The Following, Scream movies) and Marcos Siega (Blindspot, The Following, The Vampire Diaries, Dexter, Cold Case, Veronica Mars) and series stars Freddie Stroma (Harry Potter films, Pitch Perfect, Game of Thrones, 13 Hours, UnREAL) and Genesis Rodriguez (Identity Thief, Man on a Ledge, Entourage, Big Hero 6). Based on the novel written by Karl Alexander and produced by Outerbanks Entertainment in association with Warner Bros. Television, Time After Time premieres midseason on ABC. Fans of Yo-kai Watch should pay extra attention to Hasbro’s booths (3213 and 3329) at San Diego Comic-Con. Today, the toy company revealed that one of their con-exclusive items will be a vinyl figure of the Yo-kai Dianyan, bundled with 5 special Yo-kai Medals. The toy will cost US$29.99 and be limited in edition, although exact numbers are not yet known.

Besides looking rather spiffy, the figure will unlock the feline Dianyan in the Yo-kai Watch 3DS game. I don’t know about you guys but I still need that fellow on my team! Additionally, the accompanying Yo-kai Medals are compatible with the Hasbro’s toy version of the Yo-kai Watch.

Can’t make it to the con? Hasbro will have a small batch of them available to purchase on their site after SDCC ends.

We already know Suicide Squad and Wonder Woman will be making an appearance at the San Diego Comic-Con this year, but could a Justice League panel also be on the way?

Justice league

Yesterday, Ben Affleck himself said “We’ll be there,”  in response to a question as to whether or not he’ll be at SDCC this year. While he didn’t outright mention the Justice League film, we do know that the film is currently filming. Another possibility is that Affleck will be there to talk about his upcoming Batman solo-film.  Still, with Suicide Squad and Wonder Woman already making an appearance there, we might be in for one huge panel.

In any case, with Marvel making an appearance this year, after going MIA last year, SDCC 2016 is shaping up to be big.

We now have less than a month to go until the start of San Diego Comic-Con 2016 and the official booth lists and Exhibit Hall map have been released. The lists of booths are broken down into four categories: Exhibitors, Small Press, Artists’ Alley, and Fan Tables. An interactive version of the floor map can be found here.

After quick glance at Exhibitor list, I spotted Mattel, Funko, Kotobukiya, Disney, Capcom, and Viz Media, to name a few. Seriously though, going through each list took me quite a while. There is so much going on!

Keep an eye on Geekscape.net for SDCC coverage and for those attending the con, be sure to visit the Geekscape.net gang over at Booth #3919! Well, what are you waiting for? Start making those game plans!

Mattel’s MattyCollector.com Facebook page has been posting teasers for one of its San Diego Comic-Con exclusives over the past several days. It has already been announced that the figure will be of She-Ra from Mattel’s “Masters of the Universe” line but fans have only gotten snippets of the overall image along with morsels of info. Yesterday, the page revealed that the figure will come with multiple outfits and from the looks of them, some pieces are made of fabric, not just snap-on plastic armor. Let’s just hope she has doll hair instead of the standard molded stuff typical to the series.

Here is what MattyCollector has shown us so far:

she-rateaser2 she-rateaser1 SDCCshe-rateaser3

It certainly looks like some serious effort was put into this! The price for this exclusive hasn’t been announced yet but I can’t imagine it will be cheap, given the detail of the toy and the intensity of the fanbase. Those interested can follow along with the daily teasers on MattyCollector.com’s Facebook page.

If you have ever attended San Diego Comic-Con, you probably remember seeing (or maybe even waiting in) the line at Mattel’s booth to purchase some of the convention-exclusive merchandise. Amongst their library of popular franchises is Monster High, a series which will be the focus of two of the booth’s exclusives this year.

SDCC16 GhostBusters Frankie

Perhaps the most interesting of the two is Frankie Stein as a Ghost Buster, complete with mini Slimer figurine. This item most likely hopes to capitalize on the buzz from the Ghost Busters reboot which will debut this summer. I will say, of all the mashups Mattel could have chosen, this one does work well.

SDCC16 Robecca and Hexiciah

The next exclusive is actually a two-pack, starring the steampunk-inspired daughter and father duo, Robecca Steam and Hexiciah Steam. Adding in the father to the bundle was a creative choice and I will be interested to see fans’ reactions.

Pricing for the two items is not currently known. Mattel’s booth number hasn’t been listed yet either. Keep your eyes on Geekscape for additional SDCC news as it trickles in.

You read the title right folks. We were invited by San Diego adult film company, Naughty America, to come check out a demo of their digital threesome VR experience.

THIS ARTICLE CONTAINS EXPLICIT CONTENT AND LANGUAGE

We arrived at the venue that was hosting Naughty America, it was your standard warm affair in San Diego this time of year. We went through the Tivoli bar and into the back bar where the folks from Naughty America were set up. I waited in line and was soon led to a table where four Samsung Gear VR headsets were laid out. I sat down and was handed a Gear and headphones. I put them on and was greeted with the Naughty America logo.

The scene started in a bedroom, with the viewer atop the shoulders of an extremely ripped, tattooed man. Immediately I was thrown out of the experience because frankly, I am the inverse of a ripped tattooed man… Well I’m a MAN, but… you get the point.

The VR environment was a full 180 degrees from the scene. I couldn’t look behind me, but honestly the action was all front and center. Actress Nikki Benz was on the floor in between the legs of the subject. She wished me a happy birthday and that she had planned to make this the best birthday ever. She had a very special surprise for me, and got up and walked to another room.  She quickly returned with a friend of hers, actress Jaclyn Taylor.

Since this was a demo of the full scene, available on Naughty America’s website, the scene progressed quickly. Jumping from point to point.

The actresses were in many positions and more and more levels of undress. The scene ended after about five minutes. I took my VR headset off and quickly realized one of the actresses from the film was standing across from me. She asked me if I enjoyed it and wished me a “Happy Birthday”. I walked outside and met up with Derek. I promptly exclaimed to him:

I’m getting two!

I caught up with the gentleman from Naughty America who was running the booth and asked him a few questions. He said that the owner of the company was immediately on board with the concept of VR porn. They hired an outside consultant to come down and teach them how to film the scenes.

Final Thoughts

It was a very, interesting, experience to say the least. I think my eyes just aren’t cut out for VR, because of all the attractions I tried over the weekend they all seemed blurry. I was told that the edges were meant to be blurry, to trick your brain into thinking it was just your peripheral vision, but I’m not sure. I tend to look with my eyes moreso than my head, and at all the VR setups there was always something taking me OUT of the experience.

The VR porn though, was certainly something. VR has a tendency to trick your brain a lot, and make you react in the real world. When one of the actress mounted the character in the film, and placed her breasts in your face, I actually leaned back in my chair.

I believe that everyone who is even remotely interested in the concept of VR porn, or VR films for that matter, to give it a try. As headsets evolve and get more advanced, there is will more and more opportunities for content creators to push the envelope. Pornography always seems to be at the forefront of entertainment innovation, and frankly the future is now.

You can get your hands on both versions of the scene, male and female, FOR FREE!
