Batman Pin Mates With Camo Batmobile To Be SDCC-Exclusive

We have less than 40 days until San Diego Comic-Con 2017 and our friends at Entertainment Earth just announced the second of their exclusives (the first being a Pin Mates set that includes Wonder Woman’s Invisible Jet and the super heroine herself in four different outfits). The new reveal is another Pin Mates set, this time featuring Batman in his Dark Knight costume along wth Bane and the Batmobile in camouflage mode. The wheels on the Batmobile even roll, which I think is pretty dang spiffy.

If you find yourself wondering, “What on Earth is a Pin Mate?,” we’ve got you covered! The product line, created by Bif Bang Pow!, was showcased at last year’s Comic-Con. The idea was to take a simple, nostalgic toy design (in this case, the wooden doll) and meld it with pop culture icons. Each doll’s features are handpainted.

Now, back to this particular con-exclusive. The set is limited in edition to 492 pieces and each one is numbered. The good news is that those not attending the con can tentatively pre-order one now and if there are any remaining after SDCC, those orders will be fulfilled. If they sell out, the pre-orders will be refunded. The Batmobile with Dark Knight Batman Pin Mate Set is priced at $24.99.

SDCC 2016: Touring Entertainment Earth’s Booth

Entertainment Earth‘s San Diego Comic-Con booth was a treasure trove of pop culture collectibles. A ton of different licenses were showcased within the display cases that the surrounded the booth (which was then surrounded by lines of attendees). Here are some of the highlights!

With Star Trek celebrating its 50th anniversary, there was plenty of merchandise to go around. One of the highlights was the Kirk versus Spock bobble head set taken from the episode, “Amok Time.” The figures are numbered and the base plays music from the show. Another item was a crossover between Star Trek and The Big Bang Theory. Part of Bif Bang Pow!’s new Pin Mate line (more on that in a moment), the set places the cast of TBBT in Star Trek uniforms.

One of the con-exclusives this year was a pink variant of the Wonder Woman Chair Cape (to commemorate the hero’s 75th anniversary). The Chair Capes stem from the desire to share a love of pop culture in daily life. Beyond the con-exclusive Wonder Woman variant, there was also capes from Batman Beyond, Superman, among others.

Batman was another hot property and inspired one of the con-exclusives, a Jack-in-the-box based on Joker from The Dark Knight. I’ll admit, this one creeped me a bit. There was also a set of Pin Mates starring the characters of Suicide Squad.

Let’s talk about Pin Mates for a second. They are part of Bif Bang Pow!’s movement to combine simple, nostalgic toy designs with current pop culture icons. In the Pin Mates case, the figures are made of wood and hand-painted. Convention-exclusives from this line include previously mentioned Star Trek/ The Big Bang Theory set and the Suicide Squad set plus a two-pack from Antman, which I though was pretty clever.

Also of a nostalgic nature is the four-inch wooden push puppet of Guardians of The Galaxy‘s Groot. I am told this will not be the only GotG puppet to be made. However, they may not all be of the “push” variety.

SDCC 2016: You Won’t Recognize Him, But This Entertainment Earth C-3PO Exclusive Is A Must-Buy!

Briefly: San Diego Comic-Con fast approaches (too fast, I’m not ready), and we’re getting to the point that exclusive announcements seem to be flooding our inboxes by the minute.

This latest announcement from Entertainment Earth may be one of the best exclusives I’ve seen announced for this year’s SDCC thus far.

You probably don’t recognize him… but it’s a convention exclusive The Force Awakens C-3PO that stands 18 inches tall.

Here are some sweet reasons why you should probably pick one up:

– Exclusive limited edition chrome C-3PO action figure!
– Fresh from the Battle of Takodana in Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

This convention exclusive “is a shiny gold robot boasting 7-points of articulation. His chrome finish is as shiny as you please, with a red arm to honor his fallen friend from the days following his adventures on Endor. C-3PO comes packaged in an amazing premium edition box featuring an exquisite Resistance symbol backdrop and gold foil highlights.

At 18-inches tall, it’s “the first time a C-3PO action figure has been offered with his classic reflective finish at this scale. It’s like a mini-replica of the suit Anthony Daniels wears in the film, so you can almost hear his voice in your head! You’ll thank Jakks when you bring home this Resistance spymaster and famous translator.”

Yeah, we’ll take two (one to open and one to leave in the box, duh).

Exclusive: Entertainment Earth Debuts Incredible Black and White Harley Quinn Statue

You’d be hard pressed to say Harley Quinn isn’t one of the hottest characters in comics right now. With the upcoming Suicide Squad film (watch the first trailer here), she is going to be thrown into the conscious of the main stream. So when I heard that our friends over at Entertainment Earth had an exclusive Black and White edition of their insanely popular Harley Quinn figure I was extremely excited.

Harley Quinn is up to no good… and she’s hotter than ever! The Fantasy Figure Gallery DC Comics Collection Black-and-White Harley Quinn Resin Statue – Entertainment Earth Exclusive is based on the designs of famed illustrator Luis Royo. The stunning resin statue has the playful but poisonous psychopath sitting on a black-and-white ball in a sexy pose, dressed in a black-and-white outfit. This exclusive limited edition version features Harley’s bloody red mallet resting on her right shoulder. No detail is missed, from her belt-like choker to her 3-strap bodice and boots. The Joker’s main squeeze flashes an innocent smile, but her intentions are anything but!
