A casting call for X-Men: Days of Future Past has revealed an interesting piece of information about the film. The casting call reveals that a majority of Bryan Singer’s upcoming sequel will take place over ten years after the events of X-Men: First Class. This could be the reason that some of the cast members from that film won’t be returning. But this also does open up the door for a number of interesting new members to join the team, including some of the original X-Men from the first film. Since it’s set in the 70’s…does that mean we might see an appearance by the X-Men’s resident queen of disco, Dazzler? Check out the casting call below.

There hasn’t been much word regarding when we would see the first trailer for James Mangold’s The Wolverine, but now we know just when it will debut. The first trailer for the film will debut online February 12th and then be attached to A Good Day To Die Hard in theaters the following weekend. No word as far as length, but Mangold has implied that it will be a very minimal teaser that won’t be giving away too much when it comes to the story of the film.

The latest issue of Empire features two brand new images from James Mangold’s The Wolverine. The first image features a Logan getting suited up. No, not the kind of suited up you were hoping for. But he does clean up nicely. And the second set image definitely features a pissed off Logan who looks like he’s about to bring the berserker rage out to play.

Entertainment Weekly’s Summer preview issue has three new images, well one not so-new image, from some of this summer’s biggest blockbusters for us to check out. Yeah, the one from Man Of Steel was released a bit back, but who cares right?

Well, it appears that Hugh Jackman may have just confirmed a rumor that was reported a few months back. While speaking with Parade at the Les Miserable’s release, Jackman was  pretty straight-forwardly asked to spill some details about the film.

Give us a little scoop on the film.

And even though you thought he might have dodged the question. Jackman replied with:

You want to get me into trouble, don’t you? [laughs] Okay, the movie takes place after X-Men: The Last Stand. My character is at his lowest. He is supposed to be able to heal himself, but he may encounter someone who has worked out a way to really hurt him. And there is a cameo from one of the past X-Men in it.

Now, of course there’s a number of characters that could appear. But it is definitely worth noting that an earlier rumor surfaced that we may see Famke Jansenn appearing in the film as Jean Grey. We’ll find out just who is going to be making an appearance when The Wolverine hits theaters on July 26, 2013.

Not long ago it was revealed that Hugh Jackman was in talks to join the cast of X-Men: Days Of Future Past. Director Bryan Singer has now revealed that Hugh Jackman has officially signed on to reprise his role as Wolverine in the upcoming sequel to X-Men: First Class.

X-Men Days Of Future Past is scheduled to hit theaters July 18, 2014.

We won’t see a trailer for Jame Mangold’s The Wolverine until next year, but Fox has just released a new poster for the film that will see Logan head to Japan. While the last poster for the film was pretty good, this one definitely is even better and sure to make fans desire to see a trailer for the film increase even more.

If you visit The Wolverine’s Facebook you can also create a custom timeline cover for your page.

Hugh Jackman, the actor who brought Wolverine to life on the big screen, will receive a star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame from the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce on Thursday, December 13, 2012. The unveiling will take place at 6931 Hollywood Boulevard in front of Madame Tussauds Hollywood. The same location where the actor has a wax figure of himself as Wolverine on display. Walk Of Fame producer Ana Martinez stated:

“Fans from around the world have been consistently asking when his star will be dedicated. We are happy to say that now is the time! Hugh is on the world’s most popular actors and we are exciting that he is joining our Walk of Fame family.”

Jackman’s big debut stateside was as Logan in Bryan Singer’s X-Men and has gone on to appear as the character five more times since then. With the upcoming The Wolverine and his possible appearance in X-Men: Days Of Future Past, that will bring the total up to seven appearances as the mutant berzerker. Congrats, bub.

Wait, did you really think they were going to make X-Men: Days Of Future Past without good ol’ Logan? Well, after yesterday’s announcement that Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen are reprising their roles as Professor Charles Xavier and Magneto, it should come as no surprise at all that Huge Jackman is in negotiations to reprise role as Wolverine in the Bryan Singer-directed sequel.

The Hollywood Reporter has revealed:

So, you’ll be getting plenty of Wolverine action over the next couple of years in your local multiplexes. This also furthers speculation that The Wolverine, which is due out in theaters July 26, 2013, will lead directly into this film. Expect even more casting news to come soon for X-Men: Days Of Future Past. Mr. Singer, we’re still waiting to hear James Marsden is coming back as Scott Summers.

So, as if going to see The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey by itself wasn’t enough already…you’re getting plenty of trailers attached to the movie. It’s already been revealed that Man Of Steel as well as Star Trek Into Darkness would have attached to the film. Oh, is that not enough for you? Well, let’s give you another reason.

It’s been revealed that the first trailer for James Mangold’s The Wolverine will also be attached to Peter Jackson’s The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey on December 14th. So, have you gotten your tickets yet? Because you just might want to.

Just a few hours ago we reported that James Mangold’s The Wolverine would be released in 3D, but this is surely the coolest piece of Wolverine news today.

Following the live Q&A with Hugh Jackman and James Mangold (which just ended), Fox officially revealed the teaser poster for the film, and it looks UNREAL.

Check out the poster below, and watch the Q&A if you missed it! As always, let us know what you think!

Are you more excited for the film after seeing this?

Love it or hate it, 3D isn’t going anywhere. When the style is used right of course, it can be a phenomenal experience, but those films tend to be few and far between.

The latest title to jump on the 3D bandwagon is next years The Wolverine. The James Mangold directed movie will be the first X-Men film to release in 3D, and Fox will certainly appreciate the bump in ticket prices from this decision.

When The Wolverine hits theaters, will you be paying extra for the 3D version?

While the film was originally believed to be a prequel, director James Mangold has confirmed that his upcoming film The Wolverine will take place after all of the previous X-Men films. Yes, that even includes The Last Stand sadly. In The Last Stand we saw Logan forced to kill Jean Grey. Professor Xavier and Scott Summers (Please Fox…fix this one!) are believed to be deceased, and the team has parted ways. Could the recent rumor of Jean Grey appearing in the film turn out to be true? Could they be fixing the things about The Last Stand that pissed everyone off so much? Mangold stated:

“Where this film sits in the universe of the films is after them all. Jean Grey is gone, most of the X-Men are disbanded or gone, so there’s a tremendous sense of isolation for him.”

“That’s something that for me was very important, that I land in a very specific place in his timeline. I wanted to be able to tell the story without the burden of handing it off to a film that already exists and having to conform to it. The ideas of immortality reign very heavily in this story and the burden of immortality weighs heavily on Logan. For me that’s such an interesting part of Logan’s character that is nearly impossible to explore if you have a kind of league or team movie.”

We will have to wait and see what they’re up to. For now though, check out the newest still from the recent issue of Empire Magazine!

There’s been quite a bit of talk and speculation lately wondering if James Mangold’s The Wolverine will tie into Matthew Vaughn’s X-Men: Days Of Future Past as well as whether or not we would see characters from the first three X-films appearing in the flick. There’s a rumor that just hit, that if it turns out to be true, would show that Fox may definitely be connecting the two films.

We Got This Covered reports that Famke Janssen, the actress who played Jean Grey in the first three X-Men films, recently flew to Sydney to shoot a cameo for The Wolverine. Just recently Janssen had stated that she would be interested in reprising the role in Matthew Vaughn’s upcoming X-Men: Days Of Future Past, which could mean we may be getting some form of connection between the two films. There is no word however just how big of a cameo appearance it is.

Will Yun Lee (Red Dawn, Die Another Day) has finally been spotted on the set of the set of The Wolverine. Lee will be playing the main villain in the film, Kenuichio Harada aka The Silver Samurai. And from the looks of it we are definitely getting Lee in the full silver armor. Harada has the ability to charge his swords with an electrical current giving them the ability to slice through almost any substance. It appears that the claws are coming out on the set of The Wolverine!

We’ve already seen set photos and a number of other leaked images, but Fox today released the first official image for the upcoming X-Men Origins: Wolverine sequel. What do you think?

“Shit that guy is ripped” is the first thing that came into my mind. If The Wolverine turns out half as good as Hugh Jackman looks here, it will absolutely blow the abysmal first film out of the water.

Well, it appears there is more than meets the eye when it comes to The Wolverine. James Mangold’s film is said to be a standalone film taking Logan to Japan and including some well known characters in the X-universe, but this film just may not be as standalone as they’re saying it is. The Geek Files has come across an interesting set photo that seems to reveal that The Jean Grey School For Higher Learning will be featured at some point in the film.

Now, this could just could be a cool little easter egg for the fans of course. But it could also be something even bigger. Maybe Fox plans on connecting this movie into their next X-film X-Men: Days Of Future Past via a post credit scene? It’s a definite possibility that we’re probably going to have to wait until next summer to find out about. Well, that is unless someone leaks it online of course. Could this also possibly have some form of tie with the supposed New Mutants film that Fox is said to be working on? Oh, the many possibilities!

A few set photos have made their way online last week of the cast and crew of The Wolverine as they begin filming in Japan. Earlier today a first look at model-turned-actress Rila Fukushima as Yukio has made its way online.

The character Yukio is a blood-thirsty assassin tasked with killing Wolverine, but becomes enamored with him  when she witnesses his exceptional killing prowess. She is one of the two love interests featured in Chris Claremont and Frank Miller’s “Japanese Saga”. Check out a first look at Fukushima on the set of The Wolverine.

Fox’s The Wolverine is currently filming in Australia and recently, a Facebook page for the movie popped up. The James Mangold directed movie will be based off of Frank Miller’s Japanese saga and once again see Hugh Jackman back on the screen as Logan. While not too revealing a plot synopsis is featured on the Facebook page for the film

Based on the celebrated comic book arc, THE WOLVERINE finds Logan, the eternal warrior and outsider, in Japan. There, samurai steel will clash with adamantium claw as Logan confronts a mysterious figure from his past in an epic battle that will leave him forever changed.

Check out official Facebook page here.

The page also confirms that Svetlana Khodchenkova, who had been rumored already after Jessica Biel dropped out, will be playing Viper in the film.

The Wolverine will hit theaters July 26th, 2013.

If you didn’t know by now, filming has begun on The Wolverine, and details are starting to leak out in small bits. The movie is set to follow Frank Miller and Chris Claremont’s legendary story arc in Japan. But this has many fans worried still due to the horrendous storyline and over abundance of characters that were seen in X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Hugh Jackman has however made numerous statements that make it seems that, just like many of us, wants to forget the last film. And now it appears that the film will be more of a reboot and less of a sequel. In a recent interview with Total Film Magazine Jackman stated the following:

“We’ve deliberately not called it Wolverine 2 because we want it to be placed and feel like a standalone picture. With an all-new cast and setting it in Japan, it’s going to give us a whole new visual aesthetic. The approach to character means we won’t be overloaded with mutants and teams and the like, so it’ll be more character-based. I think in many ways it will feel like a completely different X-Men film.”

It’s a pretty smart move to keep the title as being The Wolverine (which was actually Darren Aronofsky’s decision) to separate itself as much as possible from the previous film. And the fact that the film will not be crammed full of unnecessary characters is also good news being that some of the previous X-films have definitely suffered due to an abundance of extra characters leading to what felt like a half-assed pieced together story.

For awhile it almost seemed like this movie would never see the light of day. Especially so after Aronofsky walked away from the project. Jackman even admits that he  was worried about it never happening.

“I’m just really glad it’s happening. For a while it’s felt like a rocky ride. I think it’s the best idea we’ve had, the strongest script we’ve had and that now we really have an opportunity to make something really great. I’ve been waiting for it so long now. I think half the material in my one-man show is about the wait for The Wolverine!”

I was a little more excited myself to see what Aronofsky would have done with the character than Mangold but this news does give us a little sigh of relief. Hopefully they can pull this off and re-vitalize the franchise like First Class did.

Last week we reported that Jessica Biel had been added to the cast of The Wolverine and would be playing Viper. Talks have since broken down and Ms. Biel will not be in the movie, but that hasn’t stopped Fox from moving on and finding a new actress for the role.

Twitchfilm is reporting that Fox is in talks with actress Svetlana Khodchenkova to take over the role. Khodchenkova is a relatively unknown actress to people state-side, she was most recently seen in last year’s Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy. The movie is scheduled to begin shooting next month in Sydney, Australia.

Hugh Jackman will once again don the claws as Wolverine and James Mangold is directing. The Wolverine claws its way into theaters July 26, 2013.

So, now even if this movie sucks you can watch it for the sheer enjoyment of the beauty of Jessica Biel being in it. You read that right kiddies. Ms. Biel has joined the cast as Victoria/Viper.

According to Marvel lore Viper bounces between good and not so good and she holds some sway over Wolverine but is mostly a foe to the X-Men and Avengers.

I hated that last Wolverine movie but the recent castings has definitely increased the interest I have in this flick that started with James Mangold directing.
