I just took a break from the AMAZING Bioshock Infinite to post this mind blowing news. We got some official, gameplay footy from the next in the Battlefield franchise. Check out these 17 minutes of glory! OH MY GOD ENJOY!!!

OH MY GOD! I am so stoked it is hard to describe with words! Watch that video again, watch it again!

It looks like the rumors of this game coming out this Fall are correct. The new Frosbite 3 engine looks AMAZING! The hyper accurate destruction, facial animations and sound are all obvious step ups from the previous game. The command features are very Brothers In Arms, but are along the lines of what the rumored features of the Commander feature.

This entire announcement corroborates the leaked information from EB Games outlets. There is not much else to say except WATCH THAT VIDEO AGAIN!

No official console announcement has been made as of yet, but it is expected to see BF4 on PS3, PS4, XBOX360 and PC this fall! and possibly on the Xbox 720 and the WiiU. This game is going to be HUGE and is one of those titles that makes you go out and buy a new graphics card!

Ubisoft today revealed a new trailer for their incredible looking upcoming action title, Watch Dogs. The game really needs no introduction; as soon as the title was announced at Ubisoft’s 2012 E3 conference, Watch Dogs instantly became one of the industry’s most anticipated title.

The new trailer looks very similar to the one shown at the Playstation 4 announcement last month, but with a new voiceover and some new footage. Watch the trailer below, and let us know what you think! Watch Dogs will release later this year for Xbox 360, PS3, PS4, and Wii U.

Ubisoft today revealed the first gameplay trailer for the upcoming Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag. The new preview gives us a much better idea of what to expect than the previous announcement trailer did, and as expected, the game (and gameplay) looks damn awesome.

Watch the new trailer below, and let us know what you think! You’ll be able to step into the shoes of Edward Kenway on October 29th!

These last few days have been INSANE with all the information coming out for the next in the Battlefield series. We have teaser trailers, dog tags and a stack of leaked features. Come with me!

A few days ago we got the leaked artwork for BF4 ( check out our write up on it here ). Then the guys over at DICE created a new site that urged players to log in. The new Battlefield 4 Official Website had a counter going, the more players that logged in with their Origin account the more would be revealed for the first teaser image. What was unlocked first was this fabulously orange picture of a smoking aircraft carrier, titled “Amphibious Assault”

Battlefield 4 Amphibious Assault

Couple that with today’s teaser “SEA”, I HOPE, that we can see a type of aircraft carrier defend mode. If you’ve played Battlefield 2142’s Titan mode then you know what kind of crazy antics to expect.

Next we got this other teaser, “Land”.

Tease after tease! FINALLY, we got some leaked info on what the game features will be like. These are unconfirmed as of now, but hopefully at least half of these stick.

Battlefield 4 will stick with 64 players. Maps are larger and more detailed.

Three factions: US, Russia, and an unnamed “Eastern/Asian” faction.
4 classes with “additional features and tweaks” compared to BF3
Shipping with same amount of maps as BF3, there are plans for lots of DLC.
DLC is already in planning stages.
Battlefield 4 Premium will be available on day one and include some perks.
Most of the guns and vehicles from BF3 will return.
More squad features.
Commander feature returns, but won’t be the same as in BF2
Battlefield 4 is coming out on both current and next gen systems, and PC as well.
Game is more of an evolution rather than revolution of the series. Both technically and gameplay wise.
Will ship with more game modes than BF3
Will ship with more close quarter infantry maps than BF3
Frostbite 2 engine is pushed further in BF4. Better effects, higher res textures, more detailed game worlds, etc.
BF3 will still be supported after Battlefield 4 launches.
There is plan of some sort of integration between BF3 and BF4. Could be Battlelog-only.
Battlelog will be updated for Battlefield 4 with more social features and more detailed stats.
Single-player and co-op will return, new writers involved this time.

This is all very, very exciting! I really hope they implement some sort of Titan mode and bring the Commander Role back proper. Playing Commander in BF2 was one of the funnest things I did in the game, besides intense HALO missions.

With all this info getting pumped out we can certainly expect the game to shit this year, like what was rumored.

This one is fired off like a rocket! ‘A Good Day to Die Hard’ takes me hostage and beats me up! Orson Scott Card is a massive dickhead! ‘Miss December’ director Derek Lindeman calls in! Saint Mort drops the bomb that his mom signed him up for a dating service for Valentine’s Day and Shane O’Hare calls up to discuss the PS4 announcements! Plus! Some comic book talk!

It was a big day for Sony today; a new console was announced with plenty of big name games. It doesn’t have a release date or a price, and we don’t even know what it looks like (how could they not show us what it looks like?)… but it sounds pretty cool.

During the conference Guerilla Games revealed the next instalment in the Killzone franchise, titled Killzone: Shadow Fall. The game looks very impressive (though so did that initial Killzone 2 trailer).

Watch the announcement video below, and let us know what you think!

Set thirty years after the events of the Killzone trilogy, the world of Killzone Shadow Fall is a very different place. Forced together by circumstance, the two rival factions of the Helghast and the Vektans live side by side in a futuristic city, divided by a vast wall.

Tensions are high, and a war can spark at any moment. In the midst of this all stands a Shadow Marshall, the most special of the special forces, tasked with maintaining the delicate balance.

Impressed? What did you think of the rest of today’s announcements?

This one’s a little disappointing (though not surprising due to the PS4’s x86 architecture).

Sony’s newly announced Playstation 4 will not be backwards compatable… at least with your current discs. Instead a ‘Playstation Cloud’ service has been unveiled, which when released will stream titles from the PS1, PS2, and PS3 catalogues.

Gaikai founder David Perry stated that he wants the console to stream “everything ever”, but no specific dates were revealed for just when that will happen. Services are set to be rolled out gradually.

I guess I need to finish all of my untouched PS3 games before this hits shelves!

Hopefully you’re keeping up with our liveblog of today’s Sony Playstation 4 announcement. If not, this tidbit of news was too good not to pass on.

PS3 owners know just how annoying it can be to buy a game from the Playstation store… and then wait hours and hours for it to download. This will be a thing of the past with the newly announced Playstation 4; the console features dedicated background processing that will allow you to play a game as soon as you buy it. The data you need will be instantly streamed, and the rest will download in the background.

This is set to work for demos too; rather than having to wait for a multi gigabyte demo to download (by which time you’ve likely lost interest in it), Sony’s Gakai service will stream the entire thing to your console.

Amazing! What do you think of the announcements so far?

Sony’s livestream may be having its issues (is it working for anyone?), but that can’t stop this news from making its waves.

Sony has just announced the Playstation 4. The console is set to hit store shelves later this year! Sony began talking to developers about the console all the way back in 2008, so clearly its been a long time coming.

The system is touted as being a “platform by creators, for creators”, and features an x86 processor (whaaaat?) and a GPU with “remarkable long-term potential.” Playstation 4 also houses a whole 8Gb of RAM, which is a huge step up from consoles on the market today.

A Dualshock 4 controller has also been revealed for the console, and it looks like the biggest design change since the release of the original unit. The controller features advanced motion tracking capabilities, a standard headphone jack (YES), and a touchpad along its center.

Playstation 4 will also feature a new UI with what sounds like a pretty amazing feature; hit the power button and your game is suspended, when you hit it again the console will resume right where you left off!

UPDATE

The stream is over and we got the word that you can get a PS4 this Holiday 2013!

After a mysterious announcement a few weeks ago, followed by some intriguing videos afterwards (here, here, here, and here), Sony is finally ready to show us the future of Playstation.

Nothing is guaranteed of course, but the world is widely expecting the company to announce and unveil the Playstation 4. Sony has been kind enough to provide a live stream of the event, which is embedded below!

The keynote is set to begin a 6PM Eastern! Enjoy, and let us know your thoughts below!

Stream videos at Ustream

You know the drill by now. Following Sony’s PS1 and PS2 videos from earlier in the week, a Playstation 3 follow-up was released late last night. As expected, the video takes us from the PS3’s announcement at E3 2005, right to today, in which you’re hopefully playing Ni No Kuni.

Take a trip down memory lane with the video below, and let us know what you think!

All of these videos are ramping up to the ‘Future of Playstation’ presentation on Wednesday night. Sony is widely expected to unveil a PS3 successor during the keynote. Everyone’s expecting it, but only time will tell! What do you think will be announced?

So… Planning on picking up a PS4?

On Friday, Sony Computer Entertainment revealed a neat teaser for their upcoming keynote presentation (this Wednesday at 6PM ET). The video was a How It’s Made style look at the beginning of the Playstation brand, through to the end of the first Playstation’s lifecycle. The teaser sealed the deal for me, and I now firmly believe that Wednesday’s announcement will include new Playstation hardware. I also guessed that we’d be seeing Playstation 2 and Playstation 3 videos before Wednesday arrived.

The PS2 video has been released; titled Evolution of Playstation: Playstation 2. The content is very similar to that of the first video, but of course chronicling the life of the second generation console. Check it out below, and let us know what you think!

Are you looking forward to Wednesday’s announcement? When do you think the PS3 video will drop? Is that leaked controller the real thing?

In early February, Sony invited all of us to a special presentation about the future of Playstation. The internet immediately went wild with speculation that the announcement of a fourth Playstation console was imminent; the Wall Street Journal also confirmed the speculation with a reliable source.

I didn’t believe it at first, but after seeing today’s follow-up teaser, I’m not sure what else it could be; watch the video below and you’ll see what I mean!

Images of an apparently legitimate prototype controller have also made their way online. It looks similar to the DualShock we know and love, but with an intriguing touch panel in the centre. You’ll have to decide for yourself whether or not you believe this one, but multiple sources have confirmed that it’s a real (though early) prototype.

Sony’s presentation will stream live this Wednesday, February 20th at 6PM Eastern. Will you be watching? Will you be disappointed if we don’t see a new console? Sound out below!

Former Sony UK employee, Kenny Linder, was talking the talk recently on the NeoGaf Forums. He confirms that the production of the newest game from Team Ico, The Last Guardian, has been moved to the PS4 and has been on that platform for some time.

Couple this with the announcement from the Lead Designer,  Fumitu Ueda, saying that the game is still being worked on and will be released, I would be surprised to NOT see any mention of it at Sony’s big press event next Wednesday.

Be sure to check back here on the 20th so we can dish out more details of what Sony is announcing, Lets pray that they don’t lock down the system from used game play.

Late last night, Sony released an intriguing teaser to their YouTube channel, inviting all of us to see the future of Playstation in just a few weeks.

The internet (being the internet) immediately went wild with speculation that in just 20 days, the next iteration of the Playstation will be revealed. Rumours of the impeding launch however, have been running rampant for the better part of a year.

The Wall Street Journal has apparently confirmed with a reliable source that February 20th will indeed see the anticipated console’s revelation, and that the newest Playstation will be available for purchase before the year’s end.

Are you ready for a new Playstation? Do you believe that the Playstation 4 will be revealed in just a few weeks, or will Sony simply be showing this year’s lineup of AAA PS3 titles? What kind of features would you like to see available if a new console was announced?

Maybe we’ll get really lucky, and Sony will release a new version of Home.
