One of the most inventive games to come out in the past decade would have to be the Scribblenauts series. Created in 2009 for the DS by Jeremiah Slaczka and 5th Cell, the game was a breakout hit for WB Games and spawned 3 sequels, one of which included the ability to summon anyone from the DC universe.

Ever since 2013, the series has been on a bit of a hiatus, but it looks like that’s finally over. This morning WB Games announced Scribblenauts Showdown for Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PS4 with a release date of March 6th. While the game isn’t a traditional adventure, it still retains what makes Scribblenauts such a unique series. throughout the 25+ mini-games in the package, players will still have access to the over 35,000-word library that fans have come to know and love. Also featured in the game is a character creator and a Sandbox mode more reminiscent of the original games.

Even if it’s not a main series title, it’s still great to see that Scribblenauts hasn’t been forgotten and just tossed into a bin of abandoned IP’S. What do you think of Scribblenauts Showdown? Are you interested in trying it out, or are you holding out for a more traditional game in the series? Check out the announcement trailer below.

Potentially leaked just a couple of days ago, today, WB Games has announced that they are indeed working on a sequel to the 2014 hit Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor.

Titled Middle-earth: Shadow of War, Not much has been said or revealed about the game, but the trailer shows the ring of power being crafted and a great war for Mordor about to begin. No specific systems have been named, but we can assume it’ll be on PC, Xbox One, and PS4 (and maybe Switch.) The game will release on August 22nd 2017, with a gameplay reveal coming March 8th which is next week! What did you think about the original Middle-earth game? Tell us in the comments below!

Remember Lego CIty Undercover? No?  Well, I don’t blame you.

The 2013 Wii U game came out to not much fanfare, and as a result fell through the cracks and faded from peoples minds. It was essentially a Lego version of Grand Theft Auto with a big open world to explore, a huge amount of cars to drive, and multiple different disguises to wear. It’s one of the most overlooked Wii U games, and that’s why Lego and WB are giving it a second chance as they just announced that the game will be making its way to PS4, Xbox One, PC, and even Nintendo Switch in Spring of 2017.

This is a great release date as there’s a strong chance this game will be part of the Nintendo Switch Launch come its release. What are your thoughts on this announcement? What system are you planning on buying it for? Did you ever play the original Wii U version? Tell us in the comments below!

From the beginning, one of the main selling points of Lego Dimensions has been its ability to bring characters from a wide variety of franchises together under one roof. Heading into the second season of the Toys To Life title, it’s safe to say that Sonic The Hedgehog’s reveal during E3 season had to have been the most surprising, bringing one of gaming’s biggest icons into the Lego world. Hot on the heels of two new game announcements featuring the blue blur, Traveler’s Tales and WB Games have given us our first footage of Sonic in action.

Lego Dimensions Sonic Level Pack

At first glance, it’s surprising how well represented Sonic’s world is. Featuring some of the game’s iconic enemies and locations in the trailer ranging from Green Hill Zone to the city in Sonic Adventure, imagine my surprise when the developers went as far as to have the destroyed robots drop trapped animals when destroyed! Equipped with many of the attacks that have become synonymous with Sonic over the years, including the Spin Dash, Homing Attack, and the recently added dive kick, rings and robots are abound in what looks to be a faithful Level Pack. If anything, the only aspect that seems lost is the sense of speed that his actual games typically have… Assuming TT isn’t purposely basing their adaptation on Sonic Lost World. In that case, they nailed it!

But the most surreal part of watching Sonic’s trailer is seeing him explore all these other universes. I mean, Sonic in Portal. Sonic in Adventure Time. Sonic fighting side by side with the Justice League! What a time to be alive! Scheduled to be released on November 18 and packaged with his trademark Tornado biplane and Sonic Speedster, this is looking to be an interesting 12 months for Sega’s mascot.

Fresh off the announcement and reveal trailer for Injustice 2, WB Games and NetherRealm Studios aren’t going to make us wait long before we see some of the new characters in action thanks to the release of the first game play footage for the upcoming fighting game.

While the spotlight may be shining on newcomers such as Supergirl, Gorilla Grodd and Atrocitus, the returning cast is showing that they shouldn’t be forgotten about. Aside from even more dynamic looking stage hazards for the heroes and villains to fight through, new customization costumes won’t be the only way the cast will keep us on our toes. Batman reminds us why he’s such a badass thanks to his new finisher using his Batwing, while Superman uses his strength and speed to bounce his opponents around with crushing blows high in the clouds. Or… You could just be like Aquaman and have a giant whale eat your enemies.

Even still, the new characters steal the show. There’s a certain kind of excitement that comes from seeing Supergirl switch from her public identity to her superhero persona in the blink of an eye. Grodd displays his brute strength while he manhandles anyone who stands in front of him, which contrasts Atrocitus, who puts his Red Lantern abilities to good use with a combination of vicious constructs and his overwhelming rage. In a blink and you’ll miss it shot, Black Manta is shown as being part of the cast as well, showing everyone who the real king of the sea is.

Watch the trailer below and get excited with the rest of us. Who else do you expect to see make the roster when the game releases in 2017?

As we get closer to E3, rumors have been swirling about a a potential Injustice 2 reveal. Well, NetherRealm Studios and WB Games have put the speculation to rest, because Injustice 2 is real, and it looks like it could be even more brutal than the first.

Featuring a solemn narration from an off screen voice, (who does mention being reborn after emerging from “the pit.” Could it be Ra’s al Ghul?), the reveal trailer shows mainstays like Superman, Batman, The Flash and Aquaman smashing each other through walls with enhanced strength thanks to what seems to be a new transforming armor mechanic. If you were hoping for some new character reveals to keep the hype going, the closing moments of the trailer show Supergirl protecting Batman from her uncharacteristically murderous cousin, and a younger man suiting up in a red and black Batman suit. Could it be Red Hood? Or even better… Batman Beyond?

From the little we’re shown, so many questions can be pulled from it. How will the transforming suits work in the game? Is Superman still an evil, power hungry dictator? Who is the voice in the trailer? Will we FINALLY get Black Canary and Huntress? We’ll find out more as we get closer to its 2017 release date.

Who are you hoping to see in the game, and what do you make of the trailer? Sound off in the comments, and keep checking back as E3 quickly approaches.

When i was a younger I would watch enough Television to rival Mike T.V. Among those shows thay i watched was every iteration of Scooby Doo from a Pup named Scooby Doo to the underated 13 Ghosts of Scooby Doo. So i was delighted to see that LEGO was adding the property to its open world game ‘LEGO Dimensions’

One of the cool things that I noticed in the gameplay video was the integration of the LEGO and cell shaded visuals of the original series. Also, unlike the other games you interchange all characters and vehicles into the different worlds. In the video I saw the Mystery Machine strolling through the Simpsons house.

The more I see from ‘LEGO Dimensions’ the more im fighting the urge to go and preorder one of the starter sets and snatch up all those cool mini figures.

‘Lego Dimensions’ starts building September 27 on PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Windows PC, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.

It’s no secret at this point that Lego Dimensions is bringing over a dozen different universes into one huge game, ranging from Scooby Doo to Doctor Who. But how exactly do these characters come together? If this question has been keeping you up at night, WB Games has released a new trailer detailing the story of the game.

Primarily featuring the characters included with the Starter Pack, Batman, Gandalf and Wyldstyle become caught up in a plot from an evil being who’s attempting to merge their worlds together. If you needed a sample of just how much we can expect from Lego’s Toys To Life game, the trailer includes appearances from Robin, Bane, Frodo, The Wizard Of Oz‘s Emerald City, Superman, Metropolis, Scooby Doo and so much more. Check it out below!

What do you think? Is seeing all these characters coming together as surreal to you as it is to us? And who else did you spot that we might have missed? Tell us in the comments, and make sure to check back for more Lego Dimensions news as we get closer to its Septebmer 29th release date.

Between Skylanders, Disney Infinity and Amiibo, all three formats have made a killing through selling their versions of game compatible toys, with the latter creating a full blown Amiibogeddon. Considering the wild success of these Toys To Life franchises, it was only a matter of time before the Lego brand decided to take their own crack at the genre.

Lego Dimensions Screen 3

Longtime Lego game developer Traveler’s Tales hopes to bring their platforming prowess and trademark charm to Lego Dimensions, a title that brings numerous worlds together to create one huge collectable gaming experience. Including series’ such as the DC Universe, The Lord Of The Rings, The Simpsons, Back To The Future, Portal, (as in Valve’s Portal,) and so many more, will we have room on our shelves, (and enough money in the bank,) to open up to a fourth collection? We were invited to get some hands on time with the game at San Diego Comic Con to find out if its worth it.

The demo was a strange mash up of characters that we would never have imagined would share a game together. Try to picture this; Gandalf, Scooby Doo, Batman, the 13th Doctor from Doctor Who, Portal protagonist, Chell, and The Lego Movie‘s Wyldstyle, (with a cameo from Homer Simpson), running through one of GLaDOS’ test chambers, complete with her taunts through the PA system and adorable turrets who look to rip you to shreds. Yet, in the world that Lego Dimensions has established, it makes perfect sense. What was especially noticeable about having so many characters on screen at once was the fact that unlike other games in the genre that typically restrict you to two characters at a time, you can bring in as many characters and vehicles as you can fit on the portal.

On the subject of the portal itself, this base is divided into three sections. The back section is where the world is placed, which much like Infinity‘s Play Sets, is a piece that unlocks the single player world that players will traverse through. Characters and vehicles littered the left and right side in front of it, but this set up wasn’t just for show. Some puzzles required the characters to grow bigger or smaller depending on the situation, which was achieved through moving each Lego person onto the respective side that was assigned the proper power. Using the base as part of the game play is an interesting idea, one that brings a level of interactivity to the game that its competing titles lack.

Yet, despite these unique features, the core game play is exactly what we’ve come to expect from a Travelers Tales Lego game. The platforming, movement, stage progression and even combat felt almost exactly like any one of the many Lego titles that have hit the market over the last ten years. So if you pick this up, expect to fill a stud meter, destroy objects in the environment to rebuild them into new items and solve character specific puzzles. The advantage that Lego Dimensions has however, is that unlike the standalone games that typically have a half a dozen character types that have unique puzzle solving abilities, this one has the potential to offer many more than than. Chell for example, is the only character that can use the Portal Gun, which was necessary to transport the team from one spot to another at times.

Lego Dimensions Screen 1

With so many characters already announced, I can only imagine what kind of possibilities they might bring to the game. Then again, more characters means more money to spend, so we hope you have that cash ready! At the very least, each game piece doubles as a real Lego set, so once you finish the game, the fun can continue by making new objects with the pieces provided and integrate them with the rest of your real sets. Or you can just display them, if you’re more like the Will Ferrell type. Either way, gamers and collectors alike will want to keep their eyes peeled and their imaginations open when Lego Dimensions launches on September 29th, with the starter set bundled with Batman, Gandalf, Wyldstyle and the Batmobile priced at $99.99.
