Briefly: We’re still waiting for confirmation from Marvel and/or Netflix, but EW reports that the Netflix Iron Fist series has found its Danny Rand.

Finn Jones, who portrays Ser Loras Tyrell has apparently been cast as our main man in the anticipated, as yet mysterious series.

Marvel describes the series as: “Returning to New York City after being missing for years, Daniel Rand fights against the criminal element corrupting New York City with his incredible kung-fu mastery and ability to summon the awesome power of the fiery Iron Fist.”

Little is know about Iron Fist at this point, including when we’ll actually be able to feast our hungry eyes on it, but in any case, color us excited!

For now, you can re-watch the amazing Daredevil trailer from earlier today, and be sure to let us know what you hope to see in Iron Fist!

Things have been pretty mysterious regarding The Legend Of Zelda Wii U since its quiet tease in last month’s Nintendo Direct, but it looks like that’s about to change soon.

According to a website by the name of Gaming Professionals, Nintendo is gearing up to show a trailer related to The Legend Of Zelda for what’s said to be a very important event happening soon. This isn’t hard to believe, as next year is the 30th anniversary of the beloved series and Nintendo would want to do everything in their power to hype this up. It also makes sense, seeing as how the 30th anniversary is on February 21st which is a little less than 2 months away. The video supposedly shows a father and his daughter bonding over the series with what’s said might be some new clips from the upcoming Wii U title. as well as footage from past games.

Do you think this rumor has any truth to it? Comment below and let us know! If you want to check out the original article, feel free to read it right HERE!

Briefly: Nintendo fans have been waiting patiently to find out just when the newer, faster 3DS models would be coming to North America, and an apparent leaked Gamestop ad has revealed that the new iteration may be coming sooner than we thought:

Gamestop

If the ad (via NeoGAF) is real, it states that the new 3DS (or at least the XL model) will be available on February 13th (just in time for my birthday). What’s really interesting here is that the left side of the ad also shows the 3DS version of Majora’s Mask, which I really didn’t think we’d be seeing that early.

Only time will tell if the ad was real, and by time, I mean the Nintendo Direct presentation that Nintendo has scheduled for tomorrow. Keep your eyes on Geekscape for the confirmation (and keep your ears on the next episode of Geekscape Games, as I’m sure we’ll have a lot to talk about).

Will you be picking up the new version? Sound out below!

What is this?! A BOX?! Psy isn’t the only thing to come out of Korea recently.  A Korean game ratings board website has posted a new stack of games. One of them is something called Metal Gear Solid Legacy Collection for PS3. Couple that with the recently Tweeted pic from Hideo, we can rumormill  that this is most probably true.

Metal Gear Solid Legacy

From this image we can surmise that the collection will have MGS 1, 2, 3, 4 AND Peace Walker. AGAIN, nothing is confirmed as this is still in the rumor mill, but the Korean Gaming site was also the one that broke the news for Resident Evil Revelations.

You can be sure that as soon as more info is released we will tell you about it!

Earlier today it was announced that Marvel Studios would be re-releasing The Avengers into theaters for one week. But something stood out and lingered in my head throughout the day. When they made the announcement they released this image:

And with the image they stated:

Marvel’s The Avengers is back in theaters for Labor Day Weekend!

Don’t forget to stay through the credits…

Now obviously by now we’ve all stayed through the credits and we’ve seen both the Thanos scene as well as the shawarma scene. One does not simply leave a Marvel movie during the credits!

So, why make it a point to state that and already show the picture of Thanos? Could they be attaching an Iron Man 3 teaser with the re-release? They do already have the footage that they screened at Comic-Con and trust me when I tell you that it looks great. That alone would be a way to pack theaters once again.

Just earlier this month a trailer description leaked out online indicating that indeed a trailer was prepared for the upcoming movie. Another thing to note is that MovieFest attendees in Dublin, Ireland will be treated to some exclusive Iron Man 3 footage on the weekend after Labor Day. This could just be the Comic-Con footage being shown in Ireland for the first time, but could very well indicate that Disney prepared footage for a trailer for the re-release which is only taking place stateside and then decided MovieFest would be another good opportunity to show it.

Guess we are going to have to wait until tomorrow to find out!

A couple of days ago, over on the GOG forums, a user was doing his impression of Horatio Caine and dug up some interesting information.

Turns out Square Enix, just days prior, purchased the domain www.finalfantasyviipc.com. Currently it just forwards to the main Square page, but our detective over at GOG did some more digging. When he looked at the public cache for the site, he found this image. Click to enlarge.

This appears to be a PR release for the game, but with all the formatting removed due to google caching.

The price listed on the image is £7.99/€9.99. Roughly $13 USD. No official word yet from square.

Personally I am very excited if this turns out to be legit. Lets hope they sprung for HD graphics.

Check out their public who is record here.

Last November, I was one of the many geeks here in Los Angeles who attended the brand new Comikaze Expo at the LA Convention Center. I was also one of the many who had a great time (the Geekscape booth actually did more business at Comikaze than we did at either WonderCon or SDCC that year). But the new convention wasn’t perfect, with an awkward floor-plan, some understaffing issues and a hall that wasn’t quite right for it’s size. Still, ask anyone, including Comikaze organizer Regina Carpinelli, and they’ll tell you that the event was a success.

But was it enough to ensure that Comikaze would survive to see another year? In today’s “You’re Either Comic-Con or Your Not” convention landscape, even the nationwide Wizard World conventions are unable to keep attendee’s interests. So what’s a Con to do to stand out from the pack?

You rebrand yourself by associating your name with a marquee talent that is instantly recognizable to your target audience. Comic book writer Mark Millar successfully launched Kapow! Comic Con two years ago in London, bringing to Europe some of what made Comic Con so great back in the day (all the Hollywood flash without ignoring the comics). Just this morning, readers woke up to GeekChicDaily buying themselves a new life as the Nerdist News Network, a branch of Chris Hardwick’s popular Nerdist brand. Why not? It’s a smart thing to do.

So why do I think Comikaze Expo is becoming Stan Lee’s Comikaze Expo (or Excelsior Expo or Generalisimo-Con or something similarly Stan Lee)? Well, something has to be going on.

First, Comikaze canceled its upcoming spring one-day expo that was going to be held at LACC. Why? I’d like to know. I was looking forward to it. But maybe it’s because Regina Carpinelli is too busy globetrotting with Stan Lee to even return my phone calls or emails.

Here she is in Park City during Sundance:

And she’s also been seen with Stan Lee on enemy territory at last month’s Wizard World New Orleans. Actually, since last summer’s Pow! Entertainment, Comikaze Expo, Geekscape SDCC 2012 party, Regina and Stan seem to have become BFF.

Am I feeling like the jilted lover? Would I want Stan Lee to buy a piece of Geekscape? Probably not. I love Stan Lee, but at our first meeting, Stan was having a tough time getting what Geekscape was all about:

All I’m really saying is two things:

Regina, call a guy back, will ya?

– Expect something big to be announced involving Stan Lee and Comikaze Expo. I can’t say what but I’m guessing a merger/acquisition of some kind.

UPDATE: As I was writing this piece, Comikaze has taken down their homepage. But look what I saw moments before they did! A screen grab of a news story that POW!, Regina and Stan probably don’t want you to see until later this week. That’s what you get for ignoring calls, Reg!

CONFIRMED!
