Mere hours ago we talked about the official announcement for the newest game from Bethesda and the creator of Resident Evil, Shinji Mikami’s. Code named Zwei, it was supposed to be Shinji Mikami’s return to classic survival horror.

Well, just now, like just NOW, we got an official title and teaser trailer. Check out The Evil Within.

Still no word on release date, or platforms.

So the rumors have been quelled. Earlier this week Bethesda tweeted this “Mysterious” trailer for their next game. What trailer? THIS!

When I first saw it I thought they were making a new Nine Inch Nails video. Well as of not too long ago it was officially announced over at Tango Gameworks Site what them and Bethesda are doing! From their site:

Our latest project’s codename is “Zwei” and it is a survival horror game.
The above image ( The banner image for this article) is a collage of different environments we put together for this announcement and is intended to give a feel for the tone and the direction the production is taking. (However, neither the code name nor the image is intended to tell you exactly what is in the game.)

As a master of the ‘survival horror’ genre, Shinji Mikami is committed to making a game that is the realization of pure survival horror, an experience which he defines as one that pushes the limits of fear and exhilaration. He and his team at Tango are committed to attaining this vision.

Shinji Mikami, if you don’t know, is the man who created Resident Evil. He invented modern survival horror.

The game is being developed by Tango Gameworks and is going to be published by Bethesda… so there’s that. No info about release, or platforms have been announced. Just…be excited.

Sony today released two new TV spots for the upcoming fifth installment in the Resident Evil franchise.

This is the first footage I’ve seen from the film and I have to say it looks intriguing. I’ve always been a huge fan of the games, but have skipped the last few film offerings (Apocalypse left a bad taste in my mouth). Maybe it’s time to check them out.

This unique promotion is truly one of the most creative and exciting programs Six Flags has developed with a partner around our Fright Fest event. The program fully demonstrates how our media networks can be tailored for a specific demographic, and how our partnership model can help raise awareness in our parks and drive sales with a retail partner; we’re thrilled to be partnering with Capcom and GameStop on the release of Resident Evil 6.

So if you were considering getting RE6 why don’t you do yourself a little favor, go preorder a copy at GameStop and get in on this rad Six Flags event! I just wish I had one in my state, you can expect me to be entering to win that free trip!

My wife Laura joins me on this episode to talk about the difference between the Resident Evil and Underworld films, talk fictitious characters we’d like to bang and George W Bush’s cameo in Game of Thrones. I also review Beasts of the Southern Wild, Lego Batman 2 and The Amazing Spider-Man on 3DS and Michael Bay’s Ninja Turtles gets delayed! Finally Disney might be bringing Marvel to theme parks and we both pretend we’re eating at the late 90s Marvel restaurant… that really existed! Eat up!

Alice (Milla Jovovich) is back with some quite familiar faces. Love it or hate it…check out the trailer for the next chapter in the series. Because let’s me honest…these aren’t some kind of award winning films but they’re definitely fun to watch.

The Umbrella Corporation’s deadly T-virus continues to ravage the Earth, transforming the global population into legions of the flesh eating Undead. The human race’s last and only hope, Alice (Milla Jovovich), awakens in the heart of Umbrella’s most clandestine operations facility and unveils more of her mysterious past as she delves further into the complex. Without a safe haven, Alice continues to hunt those responsible for the outbreak; a chase that takes her from Tokyo to New York, Washington, D.C. and Moscow, culminating in a mind-blowing revelation that will force her to rethink everything that she once thought to be true. Aided by newfound allies and familiar friends, Alice must fight to survive long enough to escape a hostile world on the brink of oblivion. The countdown has begun.

‘Resident Evil: Retribution’ is in theaters September 14, 2012.

Capcom has just released their official new trailer for ‘Resident Evil 6’ from E3. This trailer is better than some movie trailers i’ve seen. All I can say after seeing this is… wow. We see plenty of new gameplay, exciting plot elements and new horrors to endure. Neo-Umbrella? Weskers son? Ada Wong? New B.O.W.’s? I’m sold.

Glad I pre-ordered the collectors edition.

‘Resident Evil 6’ returns to the horror October 2, 2012.
