Bill Sage’s acting career started in the late 80s and continues to this day with appearances in films like ‘American Psycho’ and shows like ‘Power’ and ‘Orange Is The New Black’. Now, Bill is a lead in the new western horror film ‘The Pale Door’. With 3-4 major roles a year, how did Bill create a Hollywood career for himself and how does he maintain it? And how cool a movie is ‘The Pale Door’?

Many considered a home release inevitable, but not like this! Following the recent arcade release of Pokken Tournament, a collaboration between The Pokemon Company and the developers behind the Tekken series it has been announced that the 3D fighter will arrive on Wii U in Spring 2016 worldwide! That’s right, not just in Japan, but in every major region, including the West!

Giving us the ability to go head to head with some of our favorite Pokemon in a fighting game environment is like a dream come true for some. Featuring Lucario, Blaziken, Suicune, Machamp, Charizard, and many more favorites, it’s safe to say that I’m not the only one who’s thrilled about the chance to own this game for ourselves.

Outside of the release announcement itself, the trailer revealed a new character as well… kind of! In addition to the standard Pikachu who’s already in the game, (and hilariously mimics attacks from Heihachi and Kazuya, Tekken‘s flagship characters,) Libre Pikachu will debut in all of his cosplay glory. Now, I get that it’s the mascot and all, but do we really need two different ones? Especially when Hawlucha, the original lucha Pokemon, is still nowhere to be seen?

Still, I’m shocked that a worldwide release is so close. What are your thoughts? Are there any other characters you want to join the roster ahead of its home release? Let us know!

Don’t celebrate Christmas, or planning to see a movie with your family on December 25th? Django Unchained looks like fun for the whole gang!

Thirteen new images for the movie were just released, and though they don’t really reveal anything new, they’re a pleasure to look at anyways.

A brand new subtitled trailer for director Quentin Tarantino’s upcoming spaghetti western, Django Unchained has been released online. The trailer features small bits of unseen footage with some previously seen.

Set in the South two years before the Civil War, “Django Unchained” stars Academy Award®-winner Jamie Foxx as Django, a slave whose brutal history with his former owners lands him face-to-face with German-born bounty hunter Dr. King Schultz (Academy Award®-winner Christoph Waltz). Schultz is on the trail of the murderous Brittle brothers, and only Django can lead him to his bounty. The unorthodox Schultz acquires Django with a promise to free him upon the capture of the Brittles – dead or alive.

Success leads Schultz to free Django, though the two men choose not to go their separate ways. Instead, Schultz seeks out the South’s most wanted criminals with Django by his side. Honing vital hunting skills, Django remains focused on one goal: finding and rescuing Broomhilda (Kerry Washington), the wife he lost to the slave trade long ago.

Django and Schultz’s search ultimately leads them to Calvin Candie (Academy Award®-nominee Leonardo DiCaprio), the proprietor of “Candyland,” an infamous plantation where slaves are groomed by trainer Ace Woody (Kurt Russell) to battle each other for sport. Exploring the compound under false pretenses, Django and Schultz arouse the suspicion of Stephen (Academy Award®-nominee Samuel L. Jackson), Candie’s trusted house slave. Their moves are marked, and a treacherous organization closes in on them. If Django and Schultz are to escape with Broomhilda, they must choose between independence and solidarity, between sacrifice and survival…

Written and directed by Academy Award®-winner Quentin Tarantino, DJANGO UNCHAINED is produced by Stacey Sher, Pilar Savone and Reginald Hudlin. The executive producers are Harvey and Bob Weinstein, Michael Shamberg, Shannon McIntosh, and James Skotchdopole.

Django Unchained will hit theaters December 25th!

Warner Japan is plotting a remake of  the Clint Eastwood western Unforgiven, and they’ve got Ken Watanabe (Inception) set to star in it. Variety  is reporting that in this remake director Lee Sang-Il will keep the 1880’s setting and the same general plot of the original but with Watanabe playing a samurai with a violent past. The location has been changed to the northern Japanese island of Hokkaido at a time when Japanese settlers were displacing the native Ainu people.

This is one of the few times we see a Japanese remake of an American film. It’s usually the other way around as seen in the past with such as films as The Ring (Ringu), Dark Water (Ju-On) and many others. Yurusarezaru mono which if it isn’t apparent means “unforgiven” in Japanese is scheduled for release next fall in Japan. Koichi Sato has been cast in the Gene Hackman role and Akira Emoto is set to play the Morgan Freeman part. You most likely can expect to see this hit the States sooner or later given what a high-profile remake this one is.

Geekscape listeners might remember the March 1st podcast, where Jonathan interviewed stars Steve J. Palmer and K. Harrison Sweeney about their “RED DEAD REDEMPTION” experiences, as well as details about “FROM THE TRAILER TO THE GRAVE’s” pre-production. As a refresher for those who may have missed, or have yet to listen to the episode, the most frequently asked question to BIG HORN SAMURAI SINEMA has been, “Why Wyoming??”. Many films that are set in Wyoming’s great wide open (“Brokeback Mountain,” “An Unfinished Life,” “Did You Hear about the Morgans?”) end up being shot in Wyoming stand-ins, like New Mexico, or even Vancouver. As a Wyoming native who grew up in Worland, K. Harrison Sweeney and his production company want to change that. Wyoming offers unique geographical locations, like Devil’s Tower (which was used in “Close Encounters of the Third Kind”), or Hell’s Half Acre (used in “Starship Troopers”), which would fit with this particular genre of film. Mr. Sweeney’s mission: greatly boost the film industry in the Cowboy State… and here’s how YOU can take part:

Starting back on Thursday, April 5th, 2012, voting began for The Wyoming Short Film Contest! Register at the contest site and vote for UNDEAD LOVERS!

From Actor/Writer/Producer K. Harrison Sweeney comes “FROM THE TRAILER TO THE GRAVE”, a film that will birth the new genre of RedZomRomCom (Redneck Zombie Romantic Comedy). Currently in pre-production, filming of this Magnum opus of camp-n-blood begins in Wyoming in August of 2012, and will star five lead alumni of 2010’s Game of the Year, “RED DEAD REDEMPTION”, as well as FANGORIA magazine’s frequently featured “Scream Queen” Lindsay Goranson, Mark Fite of “Mr. Show with Bob & David” notoriety, Jim Turner from HBO’s “Arli$$” and Ken Campbell from FOX’s 90’s sitcom cult hit, “Herman’s Head”. Also on board is comic/graphic novel artist Guy LeMay (Image Comics’ “Dead@17”, Viper Comics’ “The Rabid”), who will be providing storyboard/end credit art, as well as Los Angeles-based band The Peculiar Pretzelmen, who will be using their early 20th Century blues/rag-rock sound to score the film.

BIG HORN SAMURAI SINEMA has entered “Undead Lovers”, a short film (which also serves as a music video to Jalan Crossland’s song of the same name) that is based off the brothel dream sequence from “FROM THE TRAILER TO THE GRAVE”. With a grand prize of $25,000 to possibly add atop their budget, BIG HORN SAMURAI SINEMA could have that much more to assist in their efforts to bring future productions to such a unique, magnificent state and overall filming landscape. Simply follow the above link to the voting page, and follow the instructions. It will require you to open a voting account, which is quick, easy, confidential and literally takes 2 minutes, tops. Cast your vote for “Undead Lovers”; you’ll have until Thursday, April 26th!
