Back in the late 80’s/early 90’s, Capcom used to be the king when it came to making licensed video games. More specifically, games based off of the insanely popular Disney Afternoon. 4 years ago we were treated to a great DuckTales remake, but since then, not much else has happened with those beloved classics.

This morning, Capcom has announced that they’ll be keeping the classics alive as they’ll be releasing The Disney Afternoon Collection later this year. The game will release for $20 on April 18th, and will include both DuckTales,  both Chip and Dale: Rescue Rangers, Tailspin, and Darkwing Duck, but there’s more to the collection than just the initial 6 games. Much akin to 2015’s Rare Replay, the collection will add additional features such as behind the scenes art, a rewind feature, and snapshot challenges including time attacks and boss rushes.

As of right now, the collections biggest downside is that it will not be releasing on the Nintendo Switch. It’s quite a head scratcher seeing as how all of these games originated on the NES. Perhaps if demand is high enough, then Capcom might consider a Switch release. Check out the trailer below, and bask in the glorious Disney nostalgia!

Last week was a pretty packed week for news what with the Nintendo Switch launch and Logan.

What you may have missed though, is that Disney released the first trailer for the highly anticipated DuckTales Reboot heading to Disney XD this summer! The trailer seems to definitely take more inspiration from the original comic books than the 80’s series, but still has plenty of things for both fans of the TV series and comics. The biggest change seems to be a complete overhaul of Webby’s character which is actually very much appreciated. Check out the trailer below, and let’s hope that the crew behind this new series doesn’t QUACK under pressure (I’m so sorry for that pun I apologize.)

About a week ago, Disney announced a release window for the highly anticipated reboot for DuckTales coming summer 2017 to Disney XD. Not much was revealed other than the release window and some concept art, but now Disney decided to drop a pretty big bombshell on us this morning.

Today, the new cast of DuckTales was announced, and from what they’ve showed, this is coming along pretty nicely. Community’s Danny Pudi, will be voicing Huey, along with SNL Bobby Moynihan as Louie, and Jean Ralphio himself, Ben Schwartz as Dewey. Raising Hope‘s Kate Micucci has also been cast as Webby, but the biggest name drop today was that David Tennant, the 10th Doctor himself, will be voicing the iconic smartest of the smarties, Scrooge McDuck! Check out the video below to find out who else has been cast in the anticipated reboot, and tell us if you’re excited for this show in the comments below!

As 2016 ends to make way for 2017, we are fastly approaching the DuckTales reboot.

Now the last time a network tried to reboot some of its older properties, it didn’t turn out so well *cough* PPG *cough*, but Disney is taking steps to make sure this reboot caters to both old fans of the series, but also new fans and even fans of the original comic. Earlier this year they revealed an image of the reboot featuring Donald and the original shows cast in a more stylized comic like animation (being used for the header above). Disney has now released another teaser in the same style showing off the same characters, but with one new addition. That’s right! Everyone’s favorite bumbling aviator Launchpad McQuack.ducktales-2017-launchpad

Not only that, but other returning characters include Gyro Gearloose, Duckworth, and Magica De Spell (hopefully still being voiced by the amazing June Foray). Since summer 2017 is still a ways away, Disney is still slowly rolling out info on the series, but they did leave us with a catchy little teaser. Check it out below! Are you excited about this reboot? Which characters are you hoping come back? Tell us in the comments below!

Today, a bit of everyone’s childhood has died.

Alan Young, most known for his roles as Mr. Ed and Uncle Scrooge on DuckTales, has sadly left us today. The legendary VA passed late Thursday night due to natural causes. While sad, it should be noted that Young was 96, which is a very long time. One of his last performances was in the 2013 console remake DuckTales: Remastered and a small role in a couple of Paul Ruddish’s excellent Mickey Mouse shorts(which will be linked below). While Young has finally ascended to that money bin in the sky, one things for certain: he was and will always be the one and only Uncle scrooge. May you rest in peace good sir.

Great news for those eagerly awaiting new info on 2017’s DuckTales reboot.

This morning, Disney finally pulled back the curtain a bit to finally reveal what the reboot of the popular 1987 Disney Afternoon show will look like. Check it out below!

DuckTales Reboot

From the looks of it, the new style looks like a page from the original comic book come to life. It also looks as if Donald will be joining along for the adventure this time (as he did in the original comics.) I for one am excited to see this new, and more faithful take on this beloved property. What are your thoughts though? Are you excited for this reboot?

Fans of the beloved original NES (Nintendo Entertainment System)/Game Boy 8-bit DuckTales game will be in for treat with DuckTales: Remastered. It will be like the original but with a “face lift” and an expanded ending sequence. The developers have set out to have retain the authenticity of the original.

The game will contain the five original levels, plus a tutorial. The animation looks amazing and rightfully so, because it is all hand drawn! Many of the show’s original voices were used, and the rest are all official Disney voice over artists. WayForward Technologies (the developers of the game) found episodes of the DuckTales TV show that lined up with the game and incorporated them. The soundtrack has been remastered and they created original 8-bit songs for the new sections so that there is a consistent style of music/sound throughout the game play.

DuckTales: Remastered will be available this Summer for $14.99 on the Playstation Network, Xbox 360, Wii U and Steam.

I’ve never played the original game, but my love of the show drew me to this booth at E3. They even had a sound box where you could sing along to the theme song for a cool DuckTales: Remastered pin. Of course I could not resist singing along! I also enjoyed playing this game; mainly because it felt like I was watching the show, and was able to interact with it. I will most likely be getting this come this Summer!
