The Adventure Continues With Nendoroid Link: Breath Of The Wild!

For those of us hyped to get our hands on anything Breath of the Wild-related, Good Smile Company has answered our call with their Nendoroid Link: Breath of the Wild Version figure. Good Smile Company are the same people behind other lovely Legend of Zelda figures, such as figma Link: A Link Between Worlds Version and Nendoroid Link: Majora’s Mask Version, and they certainly have mastered the art of capturing the characters’ essence.

Like the previous figma for A Link Between Worlds, there are two different editions of this Nendoroid to choose from: Standard and DX. The Standard Edition, priced at ￥4,167 before tax, comes with the smaller amount of accessories. For that price, you will get Link’s bow and arrow, quiver, sword, sheath, shield, plus the new Shiekah Slate, pictured below. Also included are two interchangeable facial expressions for Link, a smiling one and a yelling one.

The DX Edition, priced at ￥5,370, has everything from the standard plus an axe, a chicken leg, a club, a hood piece for Link’s head, and most impressive of all, a horse (Epona?). If you can afford it, I would totally splurge on the DX addition.

Nendoroid Link: Breath of the Wild Version is available to pre-order at the Good Smile Online Store (Standard, DX), scheduled to release in June 2017. These figures can also be found on sites like AmiAmi, HobbyLink Japan, and Tokyo Otaku Mode.

Nendoroid Yuri Katsuki Skates Into Pre-Order!

Between its mention in my Favorites of 2016 and Ajay’s review, there is no shortage of YURI!!! on ICE fans here at Geekscape. So with great excitement, I am pleased to announce that Good Smile Company’s Nendoroid Yuri Katsuki is now available for pre-order!

The precious Japanese figure skater comes with a bowl of katsudon (pork cutlet bowl to you guys watching the dubbed version), his glasses, and his smartphone (it even has his poodle case on it!). Yuri has three interchangeable expressions: a smiling expression, an embarrassed expression, and my personal favorite, his “Eros” expression from his short program. Alternate hair parts are also included.

Nendoroid Yuri Katsuki is available for pre-order now at the cost of ￥4,500. If you place your order through the Good Smile Company online shop, you will also get a rubber strap of Yuri as a bonus! The figure is scheduled to release in July 2017. And in case you are wondering, yes, Nendoroid Victor is also in the works!

‘Fire Emblem: Fates’ Female Corrin Now Available As figma, Nendoroid

That Corrin amiibo Nintendo promised to make is still M.I.A. but thankfully, Good Smile Company is filling the void with both a figma and Nendoroid of the female version of Fire Emblem: Fates‘ hero.

figma Corrin (Female) looks graceful and is able to be posed in many positions , thanks to joints and flexible plastic in different parts. The heroine comes with two facial expressions, a calm, smiling one and a yelling one for battle scenes. She is also equipped with her trusty sword, Yato, as well as the Dragonstone. As with all figma, Corrin is packaged with an articulated stand to help support her in her various poses.

figma Corrin (Female) ships in August 2017 but is available to pre-order now at the price of ¥6,296.

If you decide to pre-order her from the Good Smile Company online shop, a bonus accessory, the Omega Yato sword, will be included as a bonus.

For those of you who prefer your warriors on the diminutive side, Good Smile Company has also created the Nendoroid Corrin (Female). The Nendoroid is also posable and comes with a variety of accessories. Unlike the figma, the Nendoroid gets both the Nohr and Hoshido versions of the Yato sword. Also included is a Dragonstone. The accessory that stands out most in my opinion are the head and arm parts that allow Corrin to perform her “Dragon Fang Shot” attack (seen in the last image). Additional facial expressions include a gentle smile and brave, combat-ready face.

Like the figma, the Nendoroid ships in August 2017 and is available to pre-order now. The price is moderately lower at ¥4,815 but there is no additional bonus for purchasing the figure at the Good Smile Smile online shop.

Nendoroid Kyo Kusanagi: CLASSIC Ver. Now Up For Pre-Order!

Good Smile Company brings fans more gaming goodness with their latest figure up for pre-order, Nendoroid Kyo Kusangai: CLASSIC Ver. Hailing from The King Of Fighters XIV, Kyo comes garbed in his classic school uniform. He is also bundled with all the accessories needed to recreate two of his signature moves from the fighting game, “100 Shiki: Oniyaki” and “Ura 108 Shiki: Orochinagi.”

Included are three flame effects pieces and two facial expressions (standard and combat). Nendoroids are able to be posed in several positions allowing the figure to recreate fun battle scenes. Who wouldn’t want to see Kyo face off against a Beanie Baby? Be honest.

Nendoroid Kyo Kusanagi: CLASSIC Ver. is currently available to pre-order on The Good Smile Company Online Shop for ￥4,500. The figure is scheduled to release in March 2017.

Kyo isn’t the only KOF character getting the Nendoroid treatment. An image of Nendoroid Mai Shiranui was also revealed!

Add Nendoroid Elise of ‘Fire Emblem Fates’ To Your Army Of Figures

As fans of Fire Emblem Fates, we couldn’t be more thrilled with the latest pre-order from Good Smile Company’s Nendoroid series of figures: Elise! Fans will remember her as the youngest of the four royal siblings of Nohr.

Elise’s starting class in Fates was Troubadour, so it stands to reason that she would come with a Heal Staff and “healing effects” accessory. Look at her! She looks like a freaking magical girl!

And no troubadour is complete without their horse! Elise is packaged with a special equine wearing gear to match its rider. The horse’s front legs are also posable.

Elise is a princess of many moods and as such comes with three different facial expressions to swap out as you please: a standard expression, a smiling expression (seen in the header), and an upset expression. I adore her “upset” face. The sculptor did an amazing job with the puffed-out cheeks and pursed lips.

You can pre-order Nendoroid Elise now for ￥5,370 before tax. She is available at the official Good Smile Company online store. Nendoroid Elise is scheduled to ship in January 2017.

Nendoroid Corrin (Female) is also planned! This concept art is the only information on the figure we have at this time.

Figma Elsa Will Thaw A Frozen Heart

Elsa, the beloved Snow Queen of Disney’s blockbuster film Frozen, will soon get a figma in her likeness thanks to Good Smile Company and Max Factory. This isn’t the first piece of merchandise from the movie to be crafted by this group; both Anna and Elsa were sold as Nendoroids in the past. However, I think can safely say this figma is the most impressive of the Frozen figures. Without further ado, let’s take a look at her.

Given that figma allow you to switch up facial expressions (and pose the figure as well), there is of course a singing face included. I can practically hear “Let It Go” in my head.

Before we move on, take a moment to appreciate the details in this figure. The shimmering bodice and cape are especially impressive. I also dig the icy high heels.

Here we see Elsa’s second face, a sidelong glance. She comes with two ice magic effect parts. Note, her legs are visible through the slit in her dress.

Elsa is also bundled with an articulated Olaf figure. His arms are posable and his eyes can be moved. This photo also shows Elsa’s smiling face.

That cape is seriously impressive!

figma Elsa is available to pre-order now for ￥7,000 (before tax) and is scheduled to release this December. The figure’s listing has been spotted at AmiAmi and HobbyLink Japan.

Good Smile Company Is Making A ‘The Legend of Korra’ Nendoroid!

Good Smile Company recently announced that they were releasing a Nendoroid Korra from Nickelodeon’s animated TV show The Legend of Korra. The reveal was a surprise but not without precedent. Other American licenses have had moments in the GSC spotlight. Captain America, Batman, Iron Man, and even the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles have their own figures. Given The Legend of Korra‘s aesthetic, it seems a great fit for this style of figure. Now, let’s take a look at her.

For the most part, Korra is fairly simple figure. She comes with only one expression, unlike the majority of the other Nendoroids on the market. Her hair is jointed, according to the product listing. Korra comes with two bending effects parts that each have their own stands. She also has interchangeable parts to let her appear as though she is leaping into the air or posing on the ground.

Nendoroid Korra is currently only available to pre-order in the United States. She can be found at the Good Smile Company online store as well as partnering retailers. She costs ￥4,444 before tax and is scheduled to ship this November.

Geekscape Toys: figma Ted Brings Drug Use and Bear Hugs

Add this to the list of things I never thought would exist. It turns out Japan loves Ted, the wildly-inappropriate living teddy bear. Who knew? His movies are so popular over in the Land of the Rising Sun that Max Factory and Good Smile Company have developed a figma Ted, complete with a beer bottle and a bong. Yes, he comes with a mini-PVC bong; you can’t make this stuff up.

Like all figma, the Ted figure is posable, with articulated joints, and has multiple expressions. To change Ted’s facial features, you switch out his muzzle part (he comes with laughing, smiling, and upset expressions) and move around his articulated eyebrows. He can sit, stand, and do several other poses with the help of the included figma stand. Ted is smaller than most figma, standing only 55 millimeters in height.

figma Ted is scheduled to ship this July for the price of ¥2,963. He is available to pre-order at the Good Smile Company Online Shop. Pre-orders close March 30 at 9 PM Japan Time.

Geekscape Toys: Fall In Love With Nendoroid En Yufuin!

The latest release for Good Smile Company’s Nendoroid posable figures is En Yufuin from Cute High Earth Defense Clube LOVE! (Binan Koukou Chukyuboeibu LOVE! in Japanese). Part of the company’s Orange Rouge line that caters to female fans, the figure of En-chan a.k.a. Battle Lover Cerulean is perfectly timed; the second season of his anime was recently announced.

Nendoroid En Yufuin stands about 100 millimeters tall and is packaged with several interchangeable parts. He comes with his Love Stick weapon along with a special arm part to hold it. Other arm-pose pieces include the finger-point and heart-symbol, both used at the end of the team’s transformation sequence. En-chan also comes with three facial expressions: “standard,” smiling, and sighing. My favorite accessories are definitely the bath house towel and bucket that he wears when he visits the Kurotamayu Bath House. You can see additional photos on Kahotan’s Blog.

Geekscape Toys: Here Are The Winter Wonder Festival 2016 Offerings From Good Smile Company!

Good Smile Company usually hits it out of the park with their event releases, and 2016 is sure to be the same. This year we are seeing Snow Miku in her Snow Owl version, as well as many other new pieces that will make their debut and be event exclusive to Winter Wonder Festival 2016 in Japan. Their online store will be updated later with information on how to purchase them, so for now let’s take a peek at these cuties, and see what’s being offered.

Nendoroid Snow Miku: Snow Owl Ver.

Snow Miku is a character designed to enliven the Winter of Hakkaido, and she looks like she’s doing just that! This Snow Owl version of the Nendoroid comes with a knitted hat, that’s made to look like an owl, three different faces, snowboard, skis with ski poles and goggles. She also has a scarf as well as snowball fight parts, which are sure to make this figure extra fun. She has an alternate body part that’s connected to the skis so she can be displayed as if she’s going down the hill in action. Don’t forget Rabbit Yukine, who is also adorable and makes a delightful appearance in this set. She will be retailing at ¥5,093.

figma Snow Miku: Snow Owl Ver.

The Snow Miku figma, looks much like its Nendoroid counterpart in design, which usually tends to be the case. Snow Miku is celebrating her 7th anniversary this year with the ‘Winter Sports’ theme, which would be perfect to take with you to Nagano. The figma comes with three expressions as well, skis with ski poles, snowboard, and even skis for the little Rabbit Yukine. Both her neck warmer and scarf can be attached and removed, depending on how you’d like to pose her. She will be retailing for ¥5,556.

Nendoroid Co-de: Bunny Magician Co-de/Bright Green Bunny Magician Co-de/ Bunny Magicial Royal Co-de

New for the Nendoroid Co-de line we’re seeing magician outfits from the anime PriPara. These three specific outfits were featured in PriPara the Movie: Everyone, Assemble! Prism Tours. Not only do you get the body part with the costume, but you also will receive a matching pair of bunny ears for each outfit. The heads are not included, as these are outfits to be used with your current Nendoroid Co-de (and standard Nendoroid) figures. These will be retailing for ¥1,111 each.

Nendoroid More: Dress-up Wedding

The fourth set in the Nendoroid More: Dress-up series is for a wedding! Ever want to pair up your favorite shipped couple and make it official? Say no more, Good Smile has your back. These adorable dresses and tuxedos will be available at Winter Wonder Festival 2016, and I’m sure they can’t wait to have you dress up your favorite Nendoroids. As with the Co-de outfits, the heads are not included with these. They will be retailing for ¥833 each.

figma Ankou Team Set

The ladies from Girls und Pazer are here! Gathered is the Ankou team, consisting of Miho Nishizumi, Yukari Akiyama, Saori Takebe, Hana Isuzu and Mako Reizei. Each girl comes with two expressions; there are also alternate hair parts, binoculars, a tank shell, cellphone, tank textbook and skirt parts for sitting. They also have stands thankfully, so you can pose them as you like. The girls can also be used with the Panzer IV (shown below) if you purchase it separately. This set will retail for ¥18,519.

figma Vehicles: Panzer IV Ausf. H “D-Spec”

As previous mentioned, we have the Ankou Team’s tank, the Panzer IV Asf. H upgraded into its D-Spec, also known as the Mk.IV Special. If you’ve ever been looking for a tank to pose your figma with, this is the one. This thing is huge! All of the girls from the set mentioned above can fit in it to pose all together. The turret can be rotated, and you can move the main battery up and down to make the tank look like it’s aiming at something in your collection. The various hatches can be manually opened as well, which works especially well for posing the girls. The tank will retail for ¥18,519.

Dekacchu Ranko Kanzaki

This huge cutie is from THE IDOLM@STER CINDERELLA GIRLS, and is just plain adorable even if she wants you to drown in darkness. This Dekacchu version of Ranko Kanzaki comes with fire and ice effects that look pretty nice in addition to her well sculpted lolita dress. Unlike the other figures who will release in February, she won’t be coming until July, and will be a Good Smile Company Online Shop exclusive. She’ll be retailing for ¥6,481.

Medicchu Granblue Fantasy: Lyria & Jita Idol Ver. Set

Last, but not least, we have Lyria and Jita from the game Granblue Fantasy, who appear to us in their idol outfits that were originally announced as an April Fools joke. These two will come paired as a set, and will retail for ¥5,556.

Geekscape Toys: Snow Miku: Snow Owl Ver. Is A Real Hoot!

Wonder Festival 2016 Winter begins February 7 in Japan and announcements of lovely new toys are popping up on the web. Good Smile Company and Max Factory always bring special items with them to the event and this year is no exception.

The headliner is of course, Snow Miku, a wintery-themed Hatsune Miku. Every year, the Vocaloid’s seasonal attire is designed and voted on by fans. This year’s theme was “Winter Sports in Hokkaido” and the winning artist, Kotatsu Otogi, envisioned Miku in a snow outfit topped off with a cap resembling a snow owl. The design was transformed into a Nendoroid as well as a figma.

Nendoroid Snow Miku: Snow Owl ver. has a very special feature. Each of the figure’s snow owl-like ski caps is hand-knit and is embellished with natural wooden buttons. Besides this accessory, Snow Miku comes packaged with her snow bunny friend, Yukine, a removable scarf, and a snow ball plus three interchangeable facial expressions (energetic smile, playful giggle, and eyes shut). And since the theme is “Winter Sports,” she is equipped with skis, poles, snow goggles, and an extra body with a snowboard. This figure’s base special-themed as well, covered in white snow with blue flakes. You can see additional images of these accessories here.

Her scarf and neck warmer are removable, if you would rather she pose without them. Her three packaged facial expressions are an energetic smile, a playful face, and a winking one. Note that figma Snow Miku’s stand is not themed like the Nendoroid’s is. You can get an overall look at her accessories here.

The Nendoroid and figma of Snow Miku: Snow Owl ver. aren’t available to purchase online yet but should be soon. But if you are in Japan for Wonder Festival 2016 Winter, limited amounts of each figure are available to purchase. There will be 3000 pieces of the Nendoroid and 2000 of the figma.

Geekscape Toys: Travel To Lorule With figma Link: ‘A Link Between Worlds’ Ver.!

It is a good time to be a Legend of Zelda collector. First, there was the news of GameStop carrying Nendoroid Link Majora’s Mask ver. Now, pre-orders are open for Good Smile Company’s figma Link: A Link Between Worlds ver., available in both standard and DX editions.

This figma stands approximately 110 millimeters in height. The figure is able to be posed in many different positions and is packaged with a stand. Link is also able to switch out facial expressions and comes with a smiling face as well as a serious one. Both editions include the Master Sword, Hylian Shield, and an illustrated sheet of Link when he is merged to a wall.

If all that is enough for you, you should be just fine with the Standard edition. But who wouldn’t want more Legend of Zelda goodness? That is where the DX edition comes in. The DX edition not only includes everything from the Standard edition but also packs in the Tornado Rod, Hookshot, a Bomb, a Baby Maiaimai (so cute!), a rupee, and a pot. Before you ask: no, you cannot smash the pot.

You can pre-order these figures now at the Good Smile Company online store. The Standard edition costs ¥5,000 while the DX edition will set you back ¥6,000. Keep in mind that orders are limited and will close on February 3 at 9p.m. Japan time. They are scheduled to release this August.

Geekscape Toys: Pre-order Nendoroid ‘Majora’s Mask’ Link and a Fox McCloud Statue at GameStop Now!

For many years, GameStop was strictly video games and strategy guides but more recently, they expanded to include card games, fashion accessories and collectible toys. The chain has now leveled up to include designer toys, such as Good Smile Company’s Nendoroid figures and Kotobukiya’s ArtFX+ line (like those two Star Wars figures). Two designer toys that we think you’ll be interested in were listed for pre-order on GameStop’s online store, a limited edition Fox McCloud statue along with Nendoroid Majora’s Mask Link.

The Fox McCloud statue stands eight inches tall and is made of hand-painted resin. The figure is limited 5,000 pieces. It costs $79.99 and is scheduled to release on February 9, 2016.

The Nendoroid Majora’s Mask Link is approximately 10 centimeters tall. Like all figures in Good Smile Company’s Nendoroid series, it comes with a bunch of accessories to customize Link’s look (you can get a better idea from this blog post by Good Smile Company’s Kahotan). The figure costs $46.99 and ships from Gamestop on March 15, 2016.
