Remember Swapnote for the Nintendo 3DS? Unless you had a 3DS from 2011 to 2013, you probably don’t.

Swapnote was a messaging application for the 3DS that let you send customized postcards in 3D to you and your friends. Kind of like how pen pals swap letters in between each other. The game was incredibly popular until Nintendo forcefully shut down the service 3 years ago due to people abusing the system’s camera functionality to send dick pics to each other. Well now Nintendo has (poorly) decided to give us another chance with its spiritual successor, Swapdoodle!swapdoodle

Swapdoodle is incredible similar to Swapnote, but does have some tweaks and changes here and there. For starters, the app is now more focused on a more artistic aspect of drawing as there is a much more diverse set of colors and line thickness. You can also purchase drawing lessons from an in game shop using real money and learn how to draw Nintendo characters while also grabbing some pretty cool stationary also. Check out the trailer below for the full details! What do you think of this comeback? Tell us in the comments below!

A Nintendo Direct is on its way later this week!

While we don’t know yet if Nintendo might still be secretly planning an NX reveal for later this month, this direct won’t be that. The live stream will be on Thursday September 1st at 7am PST and will solely be focused on upcoming 3DS games and nothing else, however, there is a small chance we could get a reveal date for an NX focused direct for later in the month. This is probably a stretch, but hey!, Nintendo has done stuff like that before. Are you excited for the direct? What 3DS are you hoping to see? Comment below and tell us!

It looks like Puzzles & Dragons Mario Edition for the 3DS has gotten a sudden update.

The update launched 2 days ago on the 24th and has added a wealth of new content. This includes new leaders such as Metal Mario, Boomerang Luigi, Gold Mario, and more! Among that, there are also new transformations, allies, new challenges, and even world rankings and a replay system to show off some of your best combos! Not only that, but on January 31st 2016, P&D developer GungHo will be sponsoring the Puzzles & Dragons International Championship in Japan. Have you tried the new update yet?

While the new Nintendo Direct isn’t scheduled until tomorrow evening at 2PM PST, that hasn’t stopped the company from throwing us an early surprise.

Late last night, Nintendo sneakingly updated the 3DS Nintendo E-shop to include the long awaited Nintendo Badge Arcade app. What is Nintendo Badge Arcade you ask? Easy! Originally released in Japan late last year, this application allows you to collect special badges and pins from crane games so that you can customize your home menu. You can also collect special badges that let you replace some of your regular apps with a different looking launch button for that game. Badge Arcade 1When you first boot up the game you will be given 5 free plays for the crane machine to show you the ropes on how to play. After that you can pay $1 for 5 more plays or $2.00 for 10 more plays, and yes that is real money you’ll have to spend. Why spend money you ask? Sometimes they’ll offer you a free home theme for your 3DS if you spend at least $2 during that promotion time. You can also play the practice mode once every day to get a shot at some more free plays. Badge Arcade 2Are you going to download Nintendo Badge Arcade? What are some of your favorite Badges so far? It’s finally that time of the year again! After 6 months of silence and wait, Nintendo is finally treating everybody to one last Nintendo Direct for the year.

The direct will happen on November 12th and begin at 2PM Pacific time and will be detailing upcoming and possibly unannounced Wii U and 3DS games for late this year and early next year.

This will be the first Nintendo Direct to not feature Satoru Iwata due to his passing this last July. Hopefully they can still live up to Iwata’s legacy and deliver and fun filled direct.

What do you hope to see during the presentation? Sound out below!
