If you were eagerly anticipating the next character to join the Street Fighter V roster, looks like we’re going to have to wait another month.

Despite promising a character a month, the third fighter of the fighting game’s first season of characters wasn’t revealed until the end of May. When the month came and went, Capcom confirmed that she wouldn’t be ready as anticipated. Instead launching alongside the long awaited story mode at the end of June, the company is promising to be more upfront with their schedule going forward. As expected, fans such as myself didn’t take too kindly to the news since the delay wasn’t confirmed until the end of the month the character was scheduled for, adding to the issues the game has gone through since its February release.

Then again, it’s looking like the team is putting the extra time to good use. Bringing back Ibuki from Street Fighter III, it’s clear from her debut trailer that her ninja bombs and air dash will give her plenty of new tools to work with in her upcoming appearance. Fighting with a much more flashy take on her typical move set, players will have plenty to work with when the ninja is finally released.

With Balrog, Juri and Urien on their way, we still have plenty to look forward to as Street Fighter V pushes towards the second half of its first season. What do you think of Ibuki, the delay, or how it was handled?

Seems like we’re going to have to wait a little longer to find out if dogs or cats are the superior pets.

Based on a message from the official Splatoon Tumblr page, the first North American Splatfest, which was supposed to take place during the weekend of June 20th, has been postponed due to matchmaking issues that made finding games during the Japanese event unreliable.

The official post reads:

Unfortunately, a matchmaking issue was discovered in the first Japanese Splatfest that resulted in long wait times and players unable to join matches. We have been working on a solution but will need a little more time to resolve the issue. In order to ensure that fans have the best possible experience and can enjoy the fun they’ve come to expect from Splatoon, we have decided to postpone the first North American Splatfest. We’ll have details on a new date soon!

Who knows, maybe this is for the best? After all, we’re still recovering from E3, and Father’s Day is the same weekend. I mean, I’m sure your father would have loved to watch you pretend to vandalize public spaces with infinite amounts of ink in the pursuit of pet superiority while he’s neglected on his special day, but maybe this could be a great opportunity to actually bond with the guy!

Still, the news is disappointing to say the least. Who knows, maybe we’ll get a few free Sea Snails out of it? We’ll be sure to let you know when the event is rescheduled, but let’s hope it won’t be long before we get to partake in our overdue Splatfest with strangers across the continent.

What an amazing way to start a weekend! Eiji Aonuma, director of Legend of Zelda Wii U, just released the video that pretty much ruins 2015 for a lot of gamers.

I still appreciate that they want to make the game the way they want, and not rush to make release dates. (We touch on this subject in Level 22 of the Geekscape Games Podcast) This news alone wouldn’t be world ending, but we got ourselves handed a one two punch of bad Zelda news. Just, read this tweet and shed a single tear.

March 27th 2015 will forever be known as Zelda Black Friday.

Well, it seems that the sequel to The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, The Girl Who Played With Fire, has been delayed. Funny, I was just discussing this movie today. Sony was planning on a late 2013 release for the sequel, although that is not the case anymore. Steven Zaillian is still currently working on the script, and the project will not move ahead until they have the screenplay locked in. The 2011 film was moderately successful making $220 million on a $90 million budget.

David Fincher, who directed the first movie, remains the studios top choice to make this follow-up, but no deals have been made yet. Apparently Sony is in zero rush when it comes to this sequel. Hopefully that is a good thing. Back in November, it was confirmed that Daniel Craig and Rooney Mara were both set to reprise their roles in the sequel.
