Mark arrives on Geekscape to talk about why he makes films, the personal struggle between commerce and the need for real communication and how he’s trying to overcome societal sadness through creating positive messages. Geekscape TV: ‘Scott Pilgrim’s Mark Webber Talks ’13 Sins’, Instagram, and More!

Briefly: Just over a year ago we hosted Scott Pilgrim vs. the World star Mark Webber on a fan-favorite episode of Geekscape (re-listen, or experience it for the first time here). At the time, Mark was just about to release his directorial effort The End of Love.

Since then, Mark has appeared in a myriad of films (including the now on VOD and soon to hit theatres 13 Sins), and is working towards completing his The End of Love follow-up, The Ever After.

Of course, when we found out that Mark would be in Austin earlier this month for the premiere of 13 Sins, we had to catch up with him. You can take a look at his conversation with Jonathan below, where they chat about 13 Sins, The Ever After, Mark’s Instagram account, and much more. ‘Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World: The Game’ Adds Wallace Wells, Online Multiplayer!

If you’ve never played Scott Pilgrim vs. the World: The Game, you’ve missed one of the finest beat-em-up titles in recent memory. The game looks great, sounds wonderful, and is an absolute blast to play with friends. Being based on Scott Pilgrim vs. the World of course, doesn’t hurt things either.

 

If you have played it, it may be time to dust off the ol’ (digital) game; a new DLC pack has been released adding Wallace Wells to the roster, and more importantly online multiplayer! The game was local-multiplayer only up to this point, so it’s quite impressive to see support still coming for a game so dated.

Most geeks will remember Mark Webber as playing Stephen Stills in Edgar Wright’s ‘Scott Pilgrim VS The World’, but on this episode we barely talk Scott Pilgrim at all (sorry)! We spend most of it talking about Mark’s career, his new movie ‘The End of Love’ and his life before acting. How did he avoid becoming a Hollywood jerk? How has raising a child changed his view of video games and Star Wars? Plus, would he ever turn down a superhero or Star Wars movie? This interview rolls deep so get ready for it! And of course, my wife Laura calls in to give me some grief!
