Tripp Vinson is the producer of the brand new ‘Red Dawn’ remake, out in the U.S. Thanksgiving week. He took time from his busy pre-release week to sit down with me and talk about the film, why he wanted to take on the remake of a cult classic and the hurdles he had to cross to bring it to the screen! He also talks about casting talented actors-turned-megastars, his approach to an audience’s reaction and turning the entire Chinese Army into North Koreans! PLUS! What’s up for the ‘Baywatch’ remake and has John Milius contacted him about the remake of his beloved film?

Paramount is still attempting develop a feature film based on the popular series Baywatch, you know the one where they ran on the beach in slow motion all the damn time, and it appears they’ve brought someone new in to give the project life again. Screenwriter Peter Tolan (Rescue Me) was previously tapped to write the script, and it was revealed that his take would be a comedy adaptation which is probably going to be similar to what we got with the quite hilarious 21 Jump Street.

And that’s fine being that a serious Baywatch movie would be a disaster. Vulture reports that Reno 911! co-creator and star Robert Ben Garant will be directing the film. Garant previously directed the films Reno 911! Miami and Balls Of Fury. There is no word whether or not Garant would be touching up on the script but we can definitely assume he’s going to be. This could actually turn out to be reallly funny if done right. And they better have a damn Hasselhoff cameo.
