Briefly: We’re finally less than two months away from the highly anticipated premiere of AMC’s Fear The Walking Dead, and today the network debuted a new, 30-second spot for the upcoming series.

In the video, an upset boy talks of ‘reports in five states’, and of people killing each other, and naturally… the adult tells him not to worry about it.

Are you looking forward to the series? I’m really excited to explore the beginning of the outbreak, and see just how the world becomes, well, the world from The Walking Dead.

Take a look at the teaser below, and let us know what you think! Fear The Walking Dead debuts this August!

Briefly: Production on AMC’s Fear the Walking Dead is currently underway (which is great, because it’s set to premiere this Summer), and the network has just debuted the first poster for the upcoming series.

The first season will consist of six episodes, and a second season has already been confirmed.

I’m certainly interested to see how the series will turn out, especially as it explores the ‘early’ days of the infection, which is an avenue not explored in any medium that The Walking Dead has taken thus far.

In any case, take a look at the poster below, and let us know if you’re looking forward to the series. Again, Fear the Walking Dead will premiere on AMC in late Summer!

Briefly: AMC’s The Walking Dead spinoff, Fear The Walking Dead is now in production (and it better be, as it’s set to debut this Summer), and AMC has officially shared the series’ first behind-the-scenes video.

The video features creator Robert Kirkman and producers Greg Nicotero and Gale Anne Hurd talking about the completely different nature of this series, and how they envisioned it being completely standalone while fitting in the universe that we already know and love.

It’s short and sweet, but in any case, it’s pretty interesting. Take a look at the video below, and let us know if you’re looking forward to the premiere!

Briefly: Following the long-rumoured addition of Dominic Cooper just a few weeks back, the cast of Seth Rogen and Evan Goldber’s Preacher adaptation has grown yet again.

This time, The Killing‘s Jamie Anne Allmand and Rectify‘s Derek Wilson have boarded the project in recurring roles.

Allman will portray Betsy Schenck, “a meek wife who appears to suffer beatings by the hand of her husband, Donny. When the Preacher checks up on her, though, she tells a different story.” Wilson will play her husband Donny Schenck, “a Civil War re-enactor and abusive thug who gets into altercations with Jesse Custer (the Preacher) but nevertheless shows up to church on Sundays.”

Preacher was one of the first comic book series that I read through in its entirety, and as such, I’m more than looking forward to the adaptation. Allmand and Wilson join Elizabeth Perkins as Vyla QuinncannonDominic Cooper as Jesse CusterRuth Negga as Tulip O’hareLucy Griffiths as a new character named Emily Woodrow, Joseph Gilgun as Cassidy and Ian Colette as Arseface.

Are you looking forward to the premiere? Be sure to let us know in the comments below!

After weeks of rumours, Seth Rogen has confirmed that Dominic Cooper is officially cast as Jesse Custer in the Preacher TV series for AMC. Dominic will be joining Ruth Negga as Tulip O’hare, Lucy Griffiths as a new character named Emily Woodrow, Joseph Gilgun as Cassidy and Ian Colette as Arseface.

Are you guys excited for this casting? Let us know in the comments below!

Untitled-11

Briefly: The cast of AMC’s Preacher has grown once more.

We’ve got Ruth Negga as Tulip O’Hare, Joseph Gilgun as Cassidy, Ian Colletti as Arseface, and now True Blood‘s Lucy Griffiths has joined the project as Emily Woodrow, a “no-nonsense single mother of three. Emily’s a waitress, the church organist, a bookkeeper and Jesse’s loyal right hand. Stoic and strong, wise beyond her years, she can’t help but have a little thing for Preacher Jesse.”

I don’t actually remember Emily from the comic series, so it could be that: a) I don’t have a very good memory, and I simply can’t recall her. b) She’s been created just for the series. c) She was a minor character that’s being expanded for the AMC version. d) Something else entirely.

Aside from Lucy’s casting, TheWrap has reported that Dominic Cooper is nearing a deal to sign on as Jesse Custer.

Are you looking forward to Preacher? What do you think of the casting so far? Are you down with Dominic Cooper as Jesse, or is there someone else you’d rather see in the role?? Sound out below!

Briefly: AMC finally revealed the official title just a few days ago, and now we officially have the first teaser for this Summer’s Fear the Walking Dead.

Back when franchise creator Robert Kirkman revealed the first details about the spinoff series, it certainly sounded like Fear the Walking Dead wouldn’t be the full-on prequel that many were hoping for. Fans, more than they wanted to see another side of the United States, wanted to see how this whole shitstorm began, but when Kirkman stated that “The timeline is taking place a little bit earlier than the original show,” it didn’t sound as though we’d be getting the origin story many were hoping for.

The first teaser however, makes us feel differently. It’s very short, but highly revelatory on the timeline of the series (or at least its beginning):

Interesting enough, the teaser’s voiceover states that ‘a strange virus is going around.’ Is just being infected enough to turn someone with a weak immune system into a walker? As we all know, we are all infected, and for most it’s, well, actually dying that turns one into a walker, so it’ll be interesting to see how the first full on zombies come to be.

Fear the Walking Dead is set to debut this Summer, and I’m definitely more excited for this series now that we know just when it’ll begin (timeline wise). How do you guys feel about the spinoff? Sound out below!

Briefly: Following the reveal of Ruth Negga as Tulip just yesterday, the next cast member for AMC’s Preacher adaptation has been revealed.

Again, it’s not Jesse (meaning we’ll have to keep waiting to see if those Dominic Cooper rumours were true), but is one of the DC/Vertigo title’s most interesting characters: Eugene “Areseface” Root. “Even with his horribly disfigured face and severe speech impediment, Eugene’s still the nicest kid you’ll ever meet and really looks up to Jesse. Stomach-churningly difficult to look at, Eugene’s the town’s reviled Frankenstein’s monster, but that won’t change his earnest, sweet and pure outlook on life. However, he is troubled by something terrible he’s done in the past — something he fears might have turned God himself against him.”

The character will be played by youngin’ Ian Colletti.

Arseface

Are you looking forward to Preacher? What do you think of the casting so far? Who would you like to see as Jesse? Sound out below!

Source: Deadline

Briefly: The first cast member for AMC’s highly anticipated Preacher adaptation has just been revealed, and… It’s not Dominic Cooper.

In fact, it’s not even for the role of Jesse Custer.

Instead, it’s for the role of Jesse’s ex-girlfriend Tulip, who Deadline describes as “a volatile, action-packed, sexified force of nature, a capable, unrepentant criminal with a love of fashion and ability to construct helicopter-downing bazookas out of coffee cans and corn shine who’s not afraid to steal, kill or corn cob-stab her way out of a bad situation.”

She’ll be played by Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.‘s Ruth Negga.

Now, I haven’t read Preacher since I was in my early teens, but I’m really looking forward to checking out what Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, and AMC do with the property. It’s a bit too vulgar for TV from what I remember, but the network gets away with some borderline content with The Walking Dead, so it’ll be very interesting to see how this one turns out.

Do you agree with the casting? Who do you want to see as Jesse Custer? Sound out below!

Briefly: Fans of AMC’s The Walking Dead have been wondering for some time just how the upcoming spinoff series will relate to the already established universe, and this weekend at SXSW, The Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman spilled finally let loose some details.

Via EW:

“It’s not going to relate to the comics at all,” Kirkman said. “From the beginning of the show one thing we’ve heard is, ‘What’s going on over here or there.’ So the intent of the new show is to expand that world and show another corner of the United States and what’s happening there. The timeline is taking place a little bit earlier than the original show. Rick Grimes woke up from a coma and was like, ‘Oh, man, zombies, weird!’ We’re going to possibly see that unfold a little more in the other show. But I wouldn’t call it ‘prequel’ because the entirety of the show is not going take place before [The Walking Dead]. It will eventually form a path running concurrently.”

”One thing that we’re doing with the new show that we’re trying with everything is it’s not derivative,” he said. “It’s standing on its own. You can watch it by itself and get your own experience. But if you are watching both shows there are things like, ‘Oh they discovered this, or they discovered that in a different way.’ There are a lot of things about The Walking Dead world these characters have to learn or figure out to get by. And there may be some things that are discovered in the companion show that haven’t been discovered in the other show yet. So there could be like a thing where, ‘Oh, they encountered a zombie in season 4 in The Walking Dead that could do this and now we know why that was.’ So we’re going to be doing things like that are going to be pretty cool, but for the most part [the two shows] should be able to stand alone.”

Based on Kirkman’s quotes, it sounds like the new series (whatever it’s called) won’t be the beginning-of-the-apocalypse tale that many were looking forward to, but will instead be set just slightly before the original series. I was wondering just how connected it will be to the already established show, and I’m glad to read that this series is mean to be standalone, since ain’t nobody got time for two versions of The Walking Dead.

The yet untitled series will premiere its first six-episode season this Summer, with a second season set to premiere in 2016. Are you looking forward to the spinoff? Or is one series enough? Sound out below!

Briefly: AMC’s The Walking Dead spinoff still doesn’t have a title, but the network has just committed to two seasons of the anticipated drama.

Little is know about the series at this point, but it is set to take place in Los Angeles, and will star Cliff Curtis (Gang Related), Kim Dickens (Gone Girl), Frank Dillane (Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince) and Alycia Debnam Carey (Into the Storm).

The series’ six-episode first season will premiere this Summer, while the second season won’t debut until 2016.

AMC president Charlie Collier states that “We take incredibly seriously the notion of building a satisfying companion series to the number one show on television. From the beginning of ‘The Walking Dead’ on AMC, we’ve been asked questions about what was going on in other parts of the zombie apocalypse, and what it looked like as the world really did ‘turn.’ Through this new series, we’re going to find out. Robert Kirkman, Dave Erickson and their writing team, along with an incomparable set of producers, cast and crew have created something remarkable and clearly distinct. We respectfully follow the request of Monty Python as we bring out (the latest of) our Dead.”

“We feel empowered by this two-season commitment, a serious show of faith from our network partner AMC,” Kirkman said. “I personally take it as a sign that they believe, like we do, that we’ve accomplished our goal of developing something original that can pay tribute to the original show and expand the world I created while at the same time having something new to say with this story. I’m very grateful that we now have the opportunity to tell this amazing story and show the fans that we really haven’t scratched the surface yet when it comes to ‘The Walking Dead.’”

Briefly: Now I haven’t exactly watched this clip as I’m way behind on The Walking Dead (though AMC themselves did give me that terrible spoiler), but it’s probably something that I should get on seeing as the series returns for the remainder of its fifth season in just a few more days!

Here’s what we’re dealing with for the remainder of the season:

“After the tragic events of the mid-season finale–as well as losing the possibility of a cure in Washington, DC–Rick Grimes’ band of survivors find themselves on the road, surviving day to day and trying to hold on to their shredded humanity and dwindling hope.

Stripped of security and without a direction for the future, some of the group near their breaking point, some find themselves hardened and cold and some just try to grasp on to what little they have left.

Though they are still breathing, the line between Rick’s group and the dead is starting to blur.

Could there be anything at this point that brings them back to life?“

Take a look at the clip below, and let us know if you’re looking forward to Sunday!

Briefly: Now I haven’t exactly watched this trailer as I’m way behind on The Walking Dead (though AMC themselves did give me that terrible spoiler), but it’s probably something that I should get on seeing as the series returns for the remainder of its fifth season in just a few more weeks.

It’s a short new teaser, but it’s probably exciting as hell seeing as we’re getting very close to the show coming back. Take a look below, and let us know what you think!

Briefly: Now I haven’t exactly watched this trailer as I’m way behind on The Walking Dead (hard to believe, I know), but it’s probably something that I should get on seeing as the series returns for the remainder of its fifth season in just under a month.

The trailer clocks in at just over a minute long. Check it out below, and be sure to let us know what you think! The Walking Dead returns on February 8th.

Briefly: Finally, finally, finally, AMC has treated us to an extended trailer of next month’s Better Call Saul.

The series is set six years before Saul Goodman (Odenkirk) meets Walter White.  When we meet him, the man who will become Saul Goodman is known as Jimmy McGill, a small-time lawyer searching for his destiny, and, more immediately, hustling to make ends meet.  Working alongside, and, often, against Jimmy, is “fixer” Mike Erhmantraut (Banks), a beloved character introduced in Breaking Bad.  The series will track Jimmy’s transformation into Saul Goodman, the man who puts “criminal” in “criminal lawyer.”  The series’ tone is dramatic, woven through with dark humor.

Take a look at the trailer below, and be sure to let us know if you’re looking forward to the series! Better Call Saul premieres on February 8th!

Saturday, December 13, roughly 1:30 PM. It’s a brisk December afternoon, the kind where the sun warms you but the cold air bites the skin. I’m sitting in the backseat of my friend’s SUV, his wife is sitting in the passenger seat. We drive past MetLife Stadium, and I tell them about seeing WrestleMania XXIX there last year.

Going to the convention, I didn’t know what to expect. Walker Stalker as far as I knew was a convention tour started by two dudes of The Walker Stalkers podcast. As a moderate fan of The Walking Dead, I was looking forward to being amongst other fans of the show and meeting a few of my favorite stars. I thought it would just be a fun way to spend the afternoon. I was looking forward to just kick back a few weeks before Christmas.

Yeah, no.

In hindsight I was an idiot. The Walking Dead is the highest-rated basic cable show today, and I live in a major metropolitan area. Did I actually expect to kick back and have a relaxing chat with Lauren Cohan about, like, Rutgers fat sandwiches? What the fuck was I thinking?

As the sole New Jersey/New York resident of Geekscape, it was practically my obligation to attend the first-ever Walker Stalker NYC/NJ convention at the Meadowlands Expo Center last weekend. I went in expecting a fun convention in the off-season. I came in to a live episode of The Walking Dead.

People are pouring out of the entrance. It’s a mess. On the far end there is a line wrapping around the edge of the sidewalk. On the other, another chaotic line wrapping itself on the ramp. In between, people are crowding around, standing and looking over each other’s shoulders. People are calling friends still parking blocks away. I sought someone who was a volunteer to ask where press registration was. Three words and my heart sank. “Inside the building.”

This was my view for thirty minutes.

https://twitter.com/EricTheDragon/status/543830058390269953

I don’t have a problem with waiting. I do the occasional midnight release, I wait in tons of lines at Comic-Con, and I once waited two hours under a burning San Diego sun to take an awful picture with Jessica Alba. But what I saw from others was frustration, demands for refunds, and the worst side of people trying to get in. Perhaps because I’m used to conventions running like poorly-oiled machines, but it was clear my fellow attendees were not as experienced. I felt sorry for the lone volunteer who had to man the door, who you can see in my tweet is the gentleman in the navy blue baseball hat and brown jacket. He had the unfortunate job of maintaining order. “Fire marshall just locked out the building,” he said. “I can’t let anyone in unless people come out.” Yeah, that won’t happen for a while. Minutes later, police were posted behind the doors.

It sounds worse than it actually was, but I stress that I’m an idiot and did not expect this kind of attendance density. No one was killing each other trying to get in, but when everyone is trying to get Norman Reedus’s autograph you can bet people will bring out the worst of themselves.

Soon enough, somehow, we were allowed in. I planned to bum-rush to media registration and waltz my way into the con.

It would be another half hour before that could happen.

Shoulder to shoulder like it was Vietnam, I become uncomfortably comfortable with fellow New Yorkers and New Jersiyans sweating through my jacket, feeling the body heat of cosplayers, families, and hormonal teenagers. The media registration booth was empty, only a volunteer there and no one else registering. I was twenty feet and 500 people away. Welcome to hell. Fate, you cruel bastard.

I looked behind me, through the heads and shoulders to the entrance. Hordes of people were in front waiting to get in and being stopped by security. It was then that it hit me: This was an episode of The Walking Dead. I skipped that day in junior high English, but does this qualify as irony?

The Walker Stalker conventions are pretty akin to Wizard World, right down to the relentless touring, but their laser focus is on the AMC television show and tangentially related interests. Like Wizard World, the attraction here are the stars, and Walker Stalker had them in spades; almost all of the actors who play or have played a crucial part in the show were in attendance signing autographs and doing photo-ops. Noticeably absent were Andrew Lincoln (Rick Grimes) and Danai Gurira (Michonne). I stood in line only for Lauren Cohan, the English actress from Surrey who plays southern belle Maggie and was now signing autographs off Exit 16. (Just did some quick research, apparently she was born in Cherry Hill. Huh.)

When I finally got in, winter coat draped over my arm, I began to see shades of what I expected before becoming an involuntary extra on the show: a medium-sized fan convention. The usual stuff was there, like the toy vendors, custom t-shirts, overpriced hot dogs, and long lines to meet the stars. But the flavor here was different, and even now I fail to accurately capture it. This wasn’t Comic-Con for sure — this is a dwarf to the giant that is Comic-Con. It was something else.

There was a noticeable absence of anything related to the comics. Outside of a few vendors selling issues and trade paperbacks, it is clear that the television show has dwarfed anything Robert Kirkman originally penned (and still continues to). I reiterate that I’m not a major fan of the franchise in any way, be it the comic book or TV show, and so perhaps I failed to recognize any comics-original cosplayers (in my defense, due to the seasonal weather any sort of cosplayer was easy to spot and the vast majority were TV-inspired). I say this not to mourn the diminishing value of comic books in pop culture, rather I see it from an almost anthropological perspective. It’s utterly fascinating.

The true legacy from the monster success of The Walking Dead television series will be its masterful marriage of two seemingly disparate communities: horror fans and survival enthusiasts. The pop lore of the zombie monster started by George Romero nets all the horror fanatics, while the apocalyptic premise promises a nihilistic wonderland for those who feel typing on a laptop before bed is too boring. These communities were never that far apart; it wouldn’t be uncommon to encounter an outdoorsman with a taste for the macabre, or a horror fanatic who likes to be close to nature. Chris Jericho talked in his second memoir about Eli Roth’s creepy home on the outskirts of a woodland area. Yet, The Walking Dead has managed to make these communities more than just friends. In the middle of Walker Stalker con, I’ve noticed just how much they have become lovers.

As far as the convention experience itself, it is about what you would expect for a niche fandom in the off-season. No, this isn’t Comic-Con, and I reiterate as only a moderate fan of anything Walking Dead that I’m kind of bummed the comic series that started everything is only passively remembered. Instead, space is devoted to autograph booths for maybe the two dozen actors who played a zombie for an hour.

Panels are a waste. There is only one big space for the entire convention, and there are no separate rooms or anything. Panels took place on the main stage, which was roped off with approximately two or three hundred folding chairs for attendees. There is so much noise happening at once, even with the microphones and loudspeakers it was extremely difficult to make out anything anyone was saying. Having experienced something like this at Florida Supercon this past summer, I didn’t even bother. It was a great-looking stage, however.

Lines for autographs were long, but if they were what you wanted they were manageable. Norman Reedus had the biggest line of the entire convention, which legitimately shocks me considering how many Wizard World shows he goes to. Prices were high, but not unfamiliar if you attend conventions. I paid $60 for Lauren Cohan’s autograph (and it’s personalized), but it would be another $60 for a photo op and I wasn’t allowed to take any cell phone photos with her. Policies change from guest to guest, all depending on their manager. Some of the bigger marquee guests, for example Manu Bennett (The HobbitArrow) had management that wouldn’t allow it, but you totally could with Jon Beranthal (Shane) or the dudes from Comic Book Men. Again, if you attend conventions on even a semi-regular business you know what to expect. I didn’t bother with photo-ops, I kind of wanted to eat that weekend.

http://instagram.com/p/wj7QI-AN2W/?modal=true

Overall, if you really love The Walking Dead attending Walker Stalker isn’t a bad way to spend a weekend if they pass by your city. I wouldn’t kill to go, but if it happens to be in town and nothing else is going on, it’s a cool thing to check out. The convention organizers probably still don’t know what kind of a beast of an event they have, and so their choosing of medium-sized buildings for a growing convention may cause some crowding problems like I experienced in the near future. But if you can stand that, it’s a fun time. Besides, I said if you really love The Walking Dead chances are you don’t care and actually want to pay an obscene amount for your favorite characters’ autograph anyway. So treat yourself.

December 13th, roughly 6:30 PM. My friends and I regroup and our feet hurt. This isn’t the most time I’ve spent at a convention nor the worst, but I had enough of zombies and people who would wish the apocalypse would occur just to kill a few. Some of the speciality food vendors like the empanadas restocked maybe an hour ago and are officially sold out. And here I am standing, ready to buy a dozen. My friends take one last look through the artist’s alley — by that I mean like three booths — before we call it quits for the night. We would spend the rest of the day drinking at their place, playing giant Jenga (that they made themselves from Home Depot wood) and watching WWE NXT on the WWE Network.

Pro tip: Go with friends.

Briefly: We still don’t know much about the anticipated The Walking Dead spinoff in the works over at AMC, but Now that the series has cast a few pivotal roles, I guess it’s time we learn its setting.

According to TV Line, the walkers are headed to Los Angeles.

As previously rumoured, it’s still thought that the series will tell of the early days of the infection and zombie apocalypse, which is definitely something I’m into seeing.

When the pilot was announced, Kirkman stated that “There are many corners of The Walking Dead universe that remain unseen in the shadows. Being given the opportunity to shine a light into those corners and see what lurks out there is an absolute thrill. I know the fans are anxious to hear what Dave and I have been cooking up for this new universe of The Walking Dead, and I’m happy to be one step closer to sharing it with them.”

Are you looking forward to the proposed spinoff? Or is one The Walking Dead series enough? Sound out below!

Briefly: Following the new teaser and clip from just a couple of weeks back, AMC today debuted a new poster for February’s Better Call Saul.

Briefly: We’re now just two months away from the highly anticipated premiere of Vince Gilligan’s Breaking Bad follow-up prequel/sequel, Better Call Saul, and AMC has just debuted both a new teaser for the series, as well as its first clip.

The teaser is fairly simple, and shows Saul shredding a lot of important/illegal documents, while the excellent clip features Saul meeting fan favourite Mike. he series is set six years before Saul Goodman (Odenkirk) meets Walter White.

Briefly: Today at New York Comic-Con, AMC debuted the first four minutes of Sunday’s The Walking Dead season premiere. It’s… well, I don’t want to spoil things, but it’s pretty intense.

Take a look at the footage below, and rest easy, because there’s a lot more The Walking Dead coming.

Briefly: The fifth season of The Walking Dead won’t even premiere for another few days, but AMC has already (unsurprisingly) confirmed the insanely-popular drama for a sixth season.

The series has been the #1 show on television among adults 18-49 for the last two years, and most highly-rated show in cable television history, so it’s almost more surprising that they haven’t already extended its run further. Though there is that spinoff also in the works.

Here’s what AMC had to say:

“We could not be more excited for October 12th as we share new episodes of ‘The Walking Dead’ with fans around the globe,” said AMC President Charlie Collier. “In advance of Sunday’s season five premiere, AMC proudly confirms a sixth season order of this extraordinary series. Thank you to Robert Kirkman, Scott Gimple, the terrific executive producers, and the entire team who brings this compelling world and these rich characters to life. There’s plenty more Dead ahead thanks to their impressive, collective effort.”

Social media activity and interest around “The Walking Dead” is up significantly from the same period a year ago. For several weeks leading up to the season five premiere, the show has been #1 in digital engagement of all returning fall cable series, as measured by the ListenFirst Digital Audience Rating. The show’s social media following and fan engagement are at an all-time high with more than 30 million Facebook fans and 2.7 million Twitter followers, while video views of scenes and trailers for the upcoming season are well outpacing last year’s results.

For season six, Scott M. Gimple will return as the series’ showrunner and executive producer along with executive producers Robert Kirkman, Gale Anne Hurd, David Alpert, Greg Nicotero and Tom Luse. AMC also recently announced that it has ordered a pilot for a potential companion series to “The Walking Dead,” based on a new story and new characters from Robert Kirkman.

What do you hope to see in season five? Let alone season six!

TheWalkingDead001

Briefly: Following the short teaser that we saw back in August, AMC has just debuted another look at next year’s Better Call Saul via an original song performed by Junior Brown, with lyrics by show creators Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould.

The song acts as an advertisement for Saul’s firm, and it’s absolutely hilarious.

Better Call Saul is the prequel to the award-winning series Breaking Bad.  Gilligan and Breaking Bad writer and producer Peter Gould created the show together and serve as co-showrunners of the premiere season.

Take a look at the video below, and let us know what you think! Better Call Saul premieres on February 15th!

Briefly: It feels like it’s been forever, but we’re finally less than two week away from The Walking Dead‘s anticipated return.

Following a myriad of trailers and TV spots, AMC has just debuted a 2.5 minute featurette digging into the new season. We hear from the shows stars and producers, and they all make it pretty clear that we’re returning to a very different group of survivors than we left.

You can take a look at the featurette below, and be sure to let us know what you hope to see in the upcoming episodes.

Briefly: AMC just ordered The Walking Dead spinoff series to pilot a few weeks ago, and we now have snippets of information on some of the series’ main characters.

Little is known about the series at this point, but The Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman will act as executive producer along with Gale Anne Hurd and David Alpert, while Sons of Anarchy writer Dave Erickson will act as showrunner on the new adaptation. The series is thought (though not confirmed) to be a prequel that chronicles the early days of the infection and zombie apocalypse.

Here’s who we’ll be seeing (via TVLine)

SEAN CABRERA | A Latino male in his early 40s, Sean is a good man trying to do right by everyone in his life.

CODY CABRERA | Sean’s whip-smart and rebellious teenage son. Known as the angriest kid in town.

NANCY TOMPKINS | A thirtysomething single mom to two kids, Nancy looks like the girl next door, but there’s an edge to her.

NICK TOMPKINS | Nancy’s screwed up teenage son. He’s too old to stay home, too scared to flee.

ASHLEY TOMPKINS | Nancy’s mostly level-headed teenage daughter. Her ambition is in direct proportion to her older brother’s failures. She loves her mom but it’s time to get out of Dodge.

ANDREA CHAPMAN | A somewhat wilted flower child, fortysomething Andrea — yep, another Andrea! — has retreated to the outskirts of the city to recover after a horrible marriage.

That’s right folks. We all loved Andrea so much the first time around that we’re getting another one.

All jokes aside, are you down for yet another version of The Walking Dead? Or is one series, a comic, and an incredible video game enough? Sound out below, and we’ll be sure to share more spinoff news as we hear it!

Briefly: We’re finally, finally, finally just a few weeks away from The Walking Dead‘s anticipated fifth season premiere, and AMC has just launched a new 30-second trailer for the upcoming episodes.

If the fourth season finale wasn’t indication enough, Rick is done being a nice guy. As he states in this trailer “It’s not over until they’re all dead”… meaning that we are going to see a lot of Terminus locals get the axe. And I can’t wait. Those guys are dicks.

Take a look at the preview below, and let us know if you’re looking forward to The Walking Dead‘s premiere on October 12th.

Briefly: Following the full trailer that premiered all the way back at SDCC (it seems like so long ago), and the newer trailer from a few weeks back, AMC has just debuted yet another promo for the series’ anticipated return.

It’s a lot of slow-motion shooting and a little bit of voiceover, just like a lot of the promos we’ve been seeing so far… but we’re totally okay with that.

It’s certainly set to be a crazy season, and I really can’t wait to see more. Take a look at the spot below, and let us know what you think! The Walking Dead returns on October 12th!

Briefly: Following the full trailer that premiered all the way back at SDCC (it seems like so long ago), and the new poster from last week, AMC has debuted a new one-minute trailer for the series’ anticipated return.

It’s an awesome look at the upcoming season, and it definitely makes me fear for some of our survivors lives. In addition, I don’t think we’ve ever, ever seen Rick so ready to kill.

Briefly: Following the full trailer that premiered all the way back at SDCC (it seems like so long ago), and the new poster from a few days back, AMC has debuted a new TV spot for the series’ anticipated return.

It’s called ‘You’re not safe,’ and the 30-second spot is full of pain, guns, anger, and a huge explosion.

We’ve got less than two months of waiting left until The Walking Dead returns on October 12th, so take a look at the spot below, and let us know what you think!

Briefly: Following the full trailer that premiered all the way back at SDCC (it seems like so long ago), AMC has debuted a brand new poster… and the new tagline for The Walking Dead‘s upcoming fifth season.

“Hunt or be hunted” is what they’re going with this season, which pretty much signifies that we’re nowhere near finished with the cannibals of Terminus. I wonder if any of survivors will turn into people chow before the midseason finale.

In any case, we’ve got less than two months of waiting left until The Walking Dead returns on October 12th, so take a look at the image below, and let us know what you think!

Briefly: Following the full trailer that premiered all the way back at SDCC (it seems like so long ago), AMC has debuted a short new teaser for The Walking Dead‘s fifth season.

Clocking in at an extremely brief 15 seconds long (AMC is loving their short teasers lately) the video shows Tyreese in the midst of a  walker attack, and someone very quick (and probably not friendly) looks to be hiding in the same location.

We’ve got less than two months of waiting left until The Walking Dead returns on October 12th, so for now take a look at the teaser below, and let us know what you think!
