I met Ronald Ross several years ago and we immediately hit it off because he has an enormous love of old Hollywood. And he should… he was there for some of it! Now, whenever I visit my mother in Santa Fe, I make it a point to drop in with Ronald to hear how he’s doing and to listen to some of his stories. Howard Hawks! The old studio system! Humphrey Bogart! The rise of television! Parties at Uncle Forry’s house! And so much more! And why don’t they make pictures like this anymore? Along the way, we share our love for Film Noir movies, Richard Donner’s ‘Superman’ and Pixar! Enjoy this trip down Hollywood’s memory lane!

In the next 3 years Pixar will release 4 new movies, but only 1 of them will be an original film, Coco, slated for release on November 22nd, 2017. But even before that we’ll be getting Cars 3 on June 16th, 2017. After that, Toy Story 4 will release on June 15th 2018, and then The Incredibles 2 will follow on June 21st, 2019. While Coco and The Incredibles 2 seem like exciting ventures, Cars 3 and especially Toy Story 4 seem to wear on peoples patience with the company. It’s also sparked mass debate about whether Pixar should be doing so many sequels when the quality of them has been pretty split among them.

Fear not though! In a recent interview with  Entertainment Weekly, Pixar president Jim Morris has stated that the company will be heavily focusing on original content after Toy Story and Incredibles as they’d rather start creating new stories rather than build upon their current franchises. Are you excited for Pixars shift back to original content, or are there still some sequels you want to see from them? Tell us in the comments below!

Looks like the Disney D23 Fan Expo is really blowing up today! With the recently announced/confirmed Incredibles 2we were given another treat! Toy Story 4 has been announced, a poster revealed and story arc laid out.

There have been some loose details floating around about what you could expect from the fourth installment in the Toy Story franchise. Pixar president Jim Morris was quoted in March saying

The third movie ended in a beautiful way and completed a trilogy. I think this movie is not part of this trilogy. It is a separate story, which in turn I do not know if will be continued. Never begin a project with that in mind. It is not a continuation of the end of the story of Toy Story 3.Temporarily it is, but it will be a love story. It will be a romantic comedy. It will not put much focus on the interaction between the characters and children. I think it will be a very good movie.

That lead fans to speculate as to what on earth could come from toys falling in love. Well, a nicely timed Tweet from ABC’s Good Morning America kind of nails down what the plot is going to be about.

It will be interesting to see what Pixar does with the Bo Peep character. She has been relegated to scenery in Toy Story 2 and didn’t even appear in Toy Story 3.
