It’s my pleasure to introduce the Geekscapists to Lauren and Katie of the K-Lo Sketch Show! I’ve been saying it for a long time Lauren and Katie are the two funniest people I know… and they’re also the most driven. Every month, they put on a brand new, 2-person improv, sketch and variety show from the ground up: the K-Lo Sketch Show! And it really is a pretty amazing show (which now regularly plays to a standing room only crowd)! On this episode, Katie, Lauren and I talk about the appeal of Macaulay Culkin, the recent eras of comedy films, Katie’s ‘Overwatch’ habits and Lauren’s past as a beauty queen and a variety of Disney princesses. We also discuss the K-Lo Sketch Show’s worst performance ever… and why they would do it all over again! It’s gonna get low, low, low, low, low on a new Geekscape so enjoy!

The newest episode of Saint Mort Show involves me skyping with two lovely and hilarious women Corey Podell and Courtney Pauroso of Big Boss. I saw a sketch of theirs on Cracked a while back and wanted to talk to them about writing and performing sketch comedy. It’s definitely one of my favorite interviews. Below is the sketch I first saw on Cracked.

The intro music contains the song Nothing Good Happens After 2 am from In All The Same Houses’ album Hip High School Hierarchy.

The entire team at Kill Bosby is absolutely hilarious, and they need your help!

Earlier this year, the sketch comedy group produced a wonderful six episode webseries called Watch Immediately (watch in full here… immediately). The team received an incredible amount of amazing support, comments, and followers, while two main criticisms arose again and again: the show’s sub-par sound and lighting.

Kill Bosby is hard at work writing a second six episode season of Watch ImmediatelyThe first season was funded entirely out of the team’s own pockets, and they’re looking for some help before production of season two begins.

A Kickstarter campaign for Watch Immediately is well underway, and is currently at $3707 of its modest $6000 goal. With 15 days in the campaign remaining, Watch Immediately is making some great progress, and will likely see its goal met and exceeded! All money raised will go towards procuring the much needed sound and lighting equipment, ensuring that season two of Watch Immediately releases with stellar production values.

Take a look at the Watch Immediately Kickstarter video below, and if you like what you see, why not throw them a few bucks? There are plenty of great backer rewards up for grabs, including t-shirts, exclusive podcasts, producer credits, and even a live comedy show in your living room!

Alright Geekscapists. Thursday is a big day on Netflix Instant Watch so clear your schedules. Before this week is over Netflix will be pulling some classic movies like Escape from New York, Swamp Thing &  Zapped!, 2 stand up specials by Bill Hicks (Sane Man & Bill Hicks Live), Last Week’s Guilty Pleasure Cabin Fever 2: Spring Fever and what was almost the topic of this weeks Last Second Instant Watch Wristcutters: A Love Story (which honestly if you’ve never seen now is the time to check it out). However what I want to shine the spotlight on is the new cult classic Mystery Team

Much like Lonely Island, Derrick Comedy is a youtube sketch group that grew in popularity when one of the members hit it big on television. Lonely Island has Andy Samberg, Derrick Comedy has Donald Glover.

Mystery Team follows a group of young junior detectives. They solve mysteries like “who’s been eating the neighbor’s pie”. Suddenly they get hired on a real case, discovering who murdered a little girl’s parents. It’s like Brick meets the Three Amigos.

It’s a delightfully dumb comedy made on a shoestring budget that I can’t recommend enough.
