Briefly: While the full trailer for The Amazing Spider-Man 2 won’t drop until December 5th (Thursday), Sony has just released three brief teasers for this week’s upcoming footage.

The teasers don’t really reveal anything about the upcoming trailer, and simply feature Spidey swinging around the city, but did Sony also uncover a subtitle for the film? The (spanish) teasers all end with The Amazing Spider-Man 2: Rise of Electro titling.

It’s certainly interesting, and we’ll be sure to fill you in as we learn more. Take a look at the teasers below, and be sure to check back for the full trailer on Thursday!

In The Amazing Spider-Man 2, for Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield), life is busy – between taking out the bad guys as Spider-Man and spending time with the person he loves, Gwen (Emma Stone), high school graduation can’t come quickly enough. Peter hasn’t forgotten about the promise he made to Gwen’s father to protect her by staying away – but that’s a promise he just can’t keep. Things will change for Peter when a new villain, Electro (Jamie Foxx), emerges, an old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, and Peter uncovers new clues about his past.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 already sounds like it has too much going on… so cutting what would be a prominent character can only be seen as a good idea.

Shailene Woodley has revealed that her portrayal of Mary Jane Watson will not appear in The Amazing Spider-Man 2. Instead, the character has been pushed to the third film, which was announced earlier this week. Understandably, she can’t be thrilled with the fact that her character has been cut, but definitely seems to get why it was necessary. “Of course I’m bummed,” Shailene stated. “But I’m a firm believer in everything happening for a specific reason….based on the proposed plot, I completely understand holding off on introducing (Mary Jane) until the next film.”

The move should give Peter and Gwen more time to establish their relationship before the inevitable happens, meaning that we’ll hopefully be more attached to her than we are now. Emma Stone’s performance was severely under-utilized in The Amazing Spider-Man, so if she were to die at this point, I don’t know why anyone would care.

Let us know what you think of the news below, and while you’re at it, what’s your opinion of Shailene as Mary Jane?
