In case you missed out on yesterday, Sony took Paris Games Week by storm.

The biggest stand-out was a brand new trailer for the highly anticipated Naughty Dog title The Last of Us: Part 2. Our first teaser last year at PSX 2016 showed us a hardened Ellie with Joel walking in on her playing guitar. The new trailer takes a sharp right turn and completely throws all of that out of the window. Brand new characters are introduced as we lay witness to a pretty gruesome torture scene as one woman is being hung while the other is having her arms broken with a hammer. The trailer ends with both of them being rescued just barely. All this is accompanied by some of the most beautiful graphics on a console to date. Check out the full trailer below, but be warned, the trailer is not for people with a weak constitution. The Last of Us Part 2 has no release date and will be releasing exclusively for PS4.

For those that missed it yesterday, Sony blew the lid off of Paris Games Week this year!

So much great stuff was announced from the studio itself to its big 3rd party partners, but the biggest surprises to some came in the form of indie love. During the conference, 2 sequels to two beloved indie games were announced, Spelunky 2 and Guacamelee 2. The original Spelunky is an action arcade type game where you play as a miner as they descend into deep caves looking for treasure and trying not to die. It’s loads of fun and completely chaotic when playing with multiplayer with others.  The trailer doesn’t reveal gameplay, but from the looks of it, it looks like you’ll be playing as the Daughter of the main character from the original game.

Guacamelee, on the other hand, is a Metroidvania style game where you play as a luchador in an attempt to rescue the president’s daughter from the evil clutches of a fiend named Carlos Calaca. The game is heavily steeped in Mexican lore and has a great shifting worlds mechanic. Definitely worth checking out if you haven’t already.  Guacamelee 2 takes place 7 years after the original and has your character Juan Aguacate returning once again to rescue the world! No release dates were given for the games, but Guacamelee 2 is promised to be soon-ish according to developer Drinkbox Studios. Check out the trailer for Guacamelee 2 down below, and tell us in the comments which game you’re most excited for!
