The Detective Pikachu film by Legendary Pictures has just started shooting in London this month.

A Twitter user by the name of HowardBud was actually around one of the filming locations and was able to snap a couple of pictures from the set. The area in the film is Police Plaza, located in Ryme City, the setting of the film. We also get a bulletin board that seems to indicate that some Pokemon have gone missing, and it seems we have some previews of their CG models as well. Among these are Machoke, Graveller, and Pancham.

Other pictures also include the logo for the Ryme City Police Department (shown in the article banner above), and the look of the police cars. The film is being directed by Goosebumps 2015 director Rob Letterman and is scheduled for release on May 10th, 2019.  Are you excited about the film or completely writing it off?

Looks like the Detective Pikachu film has their writers on board!

Announced about a month ago, Legendary Pictures had secured the rights to a Detective Pikachu movie based off the upcoming Nintendo 3DS game, but nothing else has been revealed since then. Now, in an exclusive article for Variety, Gravity Falls creator Alex Hirsch as well as Thor and Guardians of the Galaxy writer Nicole Perlman. The film still has not concrete release date or window, but this was a nice announcement to let Pokemon fans know that the film is currently in good hands.

What do you think about the choice of writers? Do you think they made a good decision? Make sure to tell us in the comments below!

Pikachu

Remember that creepy CGI Pikachu that was shown a couple of years back as a weird tech demo alongside Pokken Tournament?

PikachuYeah, that one. Well, it turns out that tech demo was indeed intended to become a full length game. Now before you start having nightmares about this thing starring in its own game, it’s important to note that the CG looks miles better than what was originally shown.

Titled Detective Pikachu: Birth Of A New Duo the game will be heading to the 3DS at an unknown date. Check out the mysterious trailer for it down below. A user by the name solarsaturn9 was kind enough to translate the trailer.
