Geekscape is LIVE with our 520th episode… and it only took a Pandemic! That’s right! Streaming live over Facebook, Twitch, Periscope and Youtube, Matt and Derek join me to talk about what movies, comics and games we’ve been consuming in quarantine! Derek says there’s good stuff on Quibi while Matt tells us ‘Taste of London’ is one of the funniest shows on TV! Matt’s brother Brian joins us to talk about his wedding in late May… right after they’ve lifted the Florida stay at home order and we discuss how comfortable we’ll be going back to the movies! Matt and I bully Derek to go back to podcasting and we take comments from the live viewers! It’s a whole new kind of old school Geekscape! Enjoy!

Briefly: It’s almost here, guys.

We’ve been building it up for weeks now, and we even created our own you-might-get-alcohol-poisoning drinking game that will definitely help you get through the show (and pass out long before the Oscars).

Now, the feed is live, and the countdown is on. Episode 400 is almost here, and we’re shaking with anticipation (or is that just nervousness).

We go live on Sunday, February 28th at 1PM. Among many other things, we’ll be sharing some of our favourite Geekscape memories during the show, and would absolutely love to see yours in the comments below!

Enjoy, and again, thank you for the years (and years) of support!

Briefly: Free on Tuesday? You should definitely check this out. It’s for a great cause, and should be entertaining as hell!

Machinima has announced its 2nd Annual “Pro vs. GI Joe” Charity Livestream, taking place on Tuesday, December 17 on Twitch.tv/Machinima and MachinimaLive.com. The live event will feature pro-gamers and Machinima talent playing video games against active duty military personnel, with the goal of raising awareness and money for the important military charity, Pro vs. GI Joe.

For the second year in a row, Machinima is working with the “Pro vs GI Joe” charity, which traditionally pairs active-duty troops with professional athletes for simul-cast play. In Machinima’s case, troops will be paired with professional gamers – including tag-team hosts APL Fisher and Lester along with Fwiz, SkyDoesMinecraft, and Freddie Wong — and Machinima in-house talent.

Here’s what Machinima had to say about the upcoming event:

Last year, for the first time, more American troops died from suicide than combat.

This year, this terrifying epidemic was reduced by 22% – a relief, to be sure – but we’re still not out of the woods. Now more than ever, good morale should be the priority of a healthy military. December 17th at Machinima, we’ve paired up with Universal Pictures and Pro vs GI Joe, a non-profit organization committed to bringing good-natured distraction to troops stationed around the world, as well as veterans returning home.

Traditionally pairing troops with professional athletes, they’ve been simulcasting friendly tournaments of Call of Duty since 2007- and have a been a huge hit with service men and women.

We’ll be joined by your favorite Pro-Gamers and YouTubers, as well as in-house favorites APLFisher, Fwiz and Dunkus – as they take on the latest CoD: Ghosts maps with troops stationed in Kandahar, Marmal and Shindand Afghanistan, LIVE from 1 – 4p. We’ll also have veterans in the studio, as well as injured and retired Army snipers on Skype, to answer all our viewer’s questions about what combat is really like.

Do some good today! If you have a spare moment, please tune in to Twitch.tv/Machinima, and/or donate what you can!
Any amount is truly appreciated!

If you’re interested in donating, head here and give whatever you can! Pro vs. GI Joe is a non-profit doing truly amazing things for our troops, wounded vets and their families. Geekscape just turned 6 years old. For those of you who like your numbers a little bit bigger, that’s 2191 days, 52594 hours, 3.15…. you get the picture. We’re old! Over half a decade old!

Tonight’s the night to celebrate. We wouldn’t be here without you readers, so every single one of you is invited. Here’s the address (it’s also the Ranker office if you’re familiar with the area):

Suite 880, 6420 Wilshire Blvd.
Los Angeles, CA
90028

Of course, that’s in Los Angeles and we have readers all over the place. We’d love to physically fly you all out to celebrate with us, but it’s a little late for that. You’re not totally out of luck though! We’ve set up a live stream of the event, so you can watch and laugh and generally wish you were there. We’ll be recording a live podcast, and will also have plenty of news about Geekscape’s bright and shining future. You can watch the very special live feed, well, right at the bottom of this page!

Thanks readers, and from a long time fan, thanks Jonathan, writers, and Geekscape! Let’s make it a night to remember! Don’t forget to wish Jonathan a happy birthday while you’re there!
