You’ve never seen Jack like this. Warner Bros. has just released a brand new trailer for the anticipated Jack the Giant Slayer. The film (originally named after the fairy tale it’s based on, Jack the Giant Killer) was originally slated to hit theatres in June, but was pushed back to allow more time for special effects, and to give the movie a bigger marketing push. After all this extra time however, at this point the film just looks weird.

Jack the Giant Slayer tells the story of an ancient war that is reignited when a young farmhand unwittingly opens a gateway between our world and a fearsome race of giants. Unleashed on the Earth for the first time in centuries, the giants strive to reclaim the land they once lost, forcing the young man, Jack (Nicholas Hoult) into the battle of his life to stop them. Fighting for a kingdom, its people, and the love of a brave princess, he comes face to face with the unstoppable warriors he thought only existed in legend–and gets the chance to become a legend himself.

Finally a good look! Back when it was called Jack the Giant Killer, a short teaser gave us nothing but a shadowed, obscured look at the giants from the film.

Director Bryan Singer is prepping a new trailer to release with Rise of the Guardians and The Hobbit, and he thought it was finally time to gives us a decent look at the title antagonists.

Jack the Giant Slayer is currently scheduled to hit theatres on March 22nd, 2013.
