Briefly: Zombie Studios’ today announced that their upcoming procedurally-generated survival-horror title Daylight, which looks freaky as shit and should be an absolute blast, has been delayed.

Luckily, it’s only for a few weeks.

The game, which was originally set to launch on April 8th, will now release on April 29th. Here’s what the developer had to say about the delay:

Let’s not mince words. First news you need to know about Daylight is that we had to delay the release date by several weeks. Here’s the thing: the way Daylight is developed is completely different because of its procedural generation. In a lot of ways it really helped the team by streamlining the environment creation, but it’s taken extra time to make sure all the scare cues are properly implemented for maximum player effect.

Tl;dr: we’re fine tuning Daylight to make it scarier.

Sounds like a worthy reason, doesn’t it? The delay also comes with a silver lining; because of the delayed release, for the game’s first two weeks of availability, it’ll cost just $9.99 for PC and Playstation plus players, and $11.99 for non-Playstation Plus subscribers. Then it’ll jump back up to $14.99.

I’m really looking forward to the title, but with the recent resurgence of the survival horror genre, which game are you most looking forward to this year?

Briefly: Could survival horror be making a comeback?

Sure, former kings like Resident Evil and Silent Hill may have lost their way (and I only hope that they can find it again), but with titles like Dying LightThe Evil Within, Daylight and more coming later this year, it certainly feels like the genre has been reinvigorated.

I’m always up for a good scare, and so far, Zombie Studios’ Daylight looks fantastic. The Blacklight: Retribution developer just launched a new trailer for the procedurally generated survival horror game, which is coming very soon to PC and PS4. Take a look at the new trailer below, and let us know what you think!
