Trailer Trash Heap: Don’t Be Afraid Of The Dark, 50/50, The Ward

The Trailer Trash Heap is here, folks! Back in full swing, we got a ton of trailers for you guys. A lot of quirky comedies this week, I would call this a feel good Heap. If it wasn’t for the other half being disturbing horror thrillers. So relax, enjoy, and have mixed feelings while checking out this week’s trailers!

Take Shelter

This concept has me interested right away, and the way it’s shot just makes me want to see more and more. I don’t need anymore convincing on this one.

A Little Help

I love The Office, so it’s only natural that I get excited to see Pam (Jenna Fischer) starring in this one. It looks like she can certainly stand on her own and I’m looking forward to watching it happen.

Salvation Boulevard

This looks nuts. A lot of big faces, in some very off beat roles. And check out Jim Gaffigan’s fanny pack.

The Perfect Age Of Rock N’ Roll

It’s good to see Jason Ritter bounce back after the tragedy that was The Event, but this one just isn’t doing it for me. I could always be wrong, but I felt like that trailer just sucked a little life out of me.

Kidnapped

My first thought here is, “why do people always keep driving so fast when there is someone in the middle of the road?” And after that I wondered what is going to make this any different from other kidnapping movies. This one has to prove itself for me.

If A Tree Falls: A Story Of The Earth Liberation Front

Eco-terrorism? I think I’m gonna have to check this out for myself.

John Carpenter’s The Ward

It’s been way too long since I saw “John Carpenter’s…” in front of a movie so I was amped from the start. The trailer started slow but picked up and I’m John doesn’t disappoint here.

The Muppets – “Green With Envy”

You may be a little confused at first glance, but be patient. We knew Jason Segel loved puppets, so this should be like an acid trip for him.

Happy Feet Two

So what exactly is so different from Happy Feet 1? New pop songs for our cute little penguins to dance to. Was this really necessary?

I Don’t Know How She Does It

You know you couldn’t escape the chick flicks. At first with the voiceover I thought we were getting Sex In The City minus all the glitz and glam. But it looks like we actually are in for something funny and charming.

The Whistleblower

Conspiracy, murder, government corruption. We’ve seen it all before so here we have to hope that the performances and the plot twists can keep us from falling asleep.

50/50

Joseph Gordon-Levitt is no stranger to the indie movie scene, but it’s different to see Seth Rogen there. I of course enjoy seeing him in this kind of film, and I think him and Levitt’s chemistry will be great throughout this one.

Don’t Be Afraid Of The Dark

Some sort of haunted house, creepy horror thriller. Should be some good Friday night fun. Wouldn’t expect a lot more.
