Jack In And Check Out The Teaser Poster For ‘Neuromancer’

The teaser poster for the upcoming adaptation of William Gibson’s cyberpunk classic has made it’s way online. The film, which is set to be directed by Vincenzo Natali (Splice, Cube), is set to begin filming next year.

The Matrix: a world within a world, a graphic representation of the databanks of every computer in the human system; a consensual hallucination experienced daily by billions of legitimate users in the Sprawl alone. And by Case, computer cowboy, until his nervous system is grievously maimed by a client he double crossed. Japanese experts in nerve splicing and microbionics have left him broken and close to death. But at last Case has found a cure. He’s going back into the system. Not for the bliss of cyberspace but to steal again, this time from the big boys, the almighty megacorps. In return, should he survive, he will stay cured.

There is currently no release date set for Neuromancer.

Mark Wahlberg And Liam Neeson Eyed For Roles In ‘Neuromancer’

Mark Wahlberg and Liam Neeson are both being eyed for roles in the upcoming adaptation of William Gibson’s 1984 novel, Neuromancer. Gibson’s first novel is considered to be a seminal work in the cyberpunk genre and the first winner of the science-fiction “triple crown”: the Nebula Award, the Philip K. Dick Award, and the Hugo Award. While no one has signed on for the project Moviehole has reported that the offer is currently on the table.

Wahlberg, who has a solid working relationship with the film’s producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura, has been offered the role of the anti-hero Case. Neeson would be playing the role of the twisted tool Armitage.

The film will be directed by Vincenzo Natali (Cube, Splice) and see a 2014 release date. The only downside to this so far is that Natali is also attached to direct the Swamp Thing reboot so it looks like it will be quite some time before we get that one.
