This is another big one of the early years and the final parody of the self titled album. Al made the strange choice to not do a studio recording but instead put the original super low-fi version he recorded live on Dr. Demento years earlier. How does it ultimately stack up to his other parodies thus far? Listen and find out!!

What is “the Mila Kunis-led sequel to a wild serial killer movie that wasn’t originally a sequel to said movie but was more or less retconned into one after production wrapped?” If you answered AMERICAN PSYCHO 2: ALL AMERICAN GIRL (2002), you win nothing but the joy of having this silly movie staining your grey matter just like us! Scott picked this, sort of, and was shocked to learn that he was the reason the team was discussing it. Someone get him a bottle of gingko pills and some prune juice, he’s getting old. Thankfully he doesn’t look like William Shatner, who somehow plays a world-renowned serial killer hunter (who looks like someone left him overnight in a bathtub).

Matthew Milligan is BACK…this time, to talk teen pop music, Radio Disney, and meta songwriting with “Potential Breakup Song” by Aly & AJ. Does taking too long to call a significant other on their birthday really deserve the vengeful song treatment? Aly & AJ MIGHT think so (hence the “potential” in the song title), but do we agree? Stay tuned to find out.

In February Disney+ randomly dropped a 30 minute collection of Winter shorts. While none of them were Christmas specific the winter-y aspect of these shorts gave Matt total Christmas vibes and decided to make Dylan watch it.

In the early 2000s, cussing was still considered shocking. Nowadays, everyone from toddlers to great-grandmas are dropping F-bombs and C-words like they aren’t even cusses. In 2004, Staten Island ho-wop singer Eamon knew that the days of having a hit song purely because of swear words were almost over, so he took a big swing and hit a homerun with “F**k It (I Don’t Want You Back)”. No matter how many bad words he based entire songs around after that though, he could never match the success again. This week, we’re joined by Jim Logrando to determine if we ourselves actually DO want Eamon and his filthy mouth back.

The rest of the action community may be talking about the upcoming Top Gun sequel, Top Gun Maverick, but on Episode 67 of The Bulletproof Podcast Chris the Brain, Chad Cruise and special guest Chris DePetrillo from Figures Toy Company look back at the other jet fighter movie from 1986! The awesome cast that included Louis Gossett Jr, Jason Gedrick and Tim Thomerson, the awesome soundtrack that included Twisted Sister, Queen and Dio are among the talking points of this episode… plus, should Toy Soldiers have been a Chappy Sinclair spin off? Check out this jet fueled edition of The Bulletproof Podcast right now!!!

This week we are joined by Philly Drag Queen Biddy Bee who has us breakdown the lyrics of Billy Joel’s “We Didn’t Start the Fire” to explain the historical significance of every lyric!!!

Because Dylan saw Dr. Strange in the Multiverse of Madness he was in a Marvel mood so this week we’re talking about Iron Man 3 … the just barely a Christmas movie Marvel film…

But let’s be honest it’s just Dylan’s excuse to talk about Doctor Strange.

Continuing the “one color gel only” trend of our recent picks, we decide to attend a totally not creepy house party/rave in all the blue-grey tones visible to the human eye and eventually run afoul of that pasty scamp Pinhead. You guessed it, we’re heading into virtual Perdition with HELLRAISER: HELLWORLD (2005), which was very obviously filmed in 2002 and shelved for 3 long years based on the fashion choices and omnipresent Nokia phones in every single frame. It’s a bad movie but what else would you expect from the 8th Hellraiser installment (and this podcast)?

This week’s episode was recorded live during a charity livestream on the Geekscape YouTube channel. We’re joined by Geekscape founder Jonathan London to discuss “What’s Up?” by 4 Non Blondes, a polarizing song that either has you plugging your ears or screaming along. The band’s career might have been short-lived, but lead singer Linda Perry’s songwriting career has been a beautiful party. Should 4 Non Blondes have took a deep breath, got real high, and made another album though? We figure out what’s going on in this episode.

After some logistical challenges last week, The Bulletproof Podcast is back and Chris the Brain, Chad Cruise and special guest Ryan Campbell are talking Krull!  Were Krull’s box office results hurt coming hot off the heels of Return of the Jedi? Does Krull have some of the worst character names in movie history? Is Ken Marshall a better hero than Mark Hamill? Does Chad Cruise make a promise concerning Lysette Anthony that he doesn’t keep? Check out Episode 66 of The Bulletproof Podcast for the answer to these questions and more!

Matt’s back with more Nick Toons specials … this week we talk about Doug’s Christmas Story which way more depressing than you remember

This week we discuss the most forgettable parody on the self-titled album. Despite being a parody of “Stop Draggin’ My Heart Around” which brought two icons Tom Petty and Stevie Nicks together on one track; the original song has been fairly forgotten which doesn’t do much to make the parody particularly memorable either. But just because it’s forgettable doesn’t mean the parody itself is bad! Where will the Matts ultimately rank this?

Whoever said vampires are always sexy has definitely made themselves forget about the time Vision broke out of the MCU and into the Wild Wild West-iverse as it crashed into the Matrix and blew vampire Jesus to smithereens. After threatening it for months, Scott finally subjects the guys to literal trainwreck that is PRIEST (2011), possibly as punishment for the transgressions of their more recent picks. Confess your sins to Captain von Trapp and be absolved!

One Hit Thunder producer Matt Kelly has brought up the band Flobots on several occasions on the show, so it was only right that an entire episode was finally dedicated to their 2008 single “Handlebars”. What lyrically starts as basically “look ma, no hands!” turns into an epic commentary on power, corruption, and militarism. Today, we’ll dive even deeper into Flobots, and we’ll decide if we jumped the gun with the “one hit wonder” tag on a band that might still lead the nation with a microphone.

Today we’re discussing Weird Al’s first Style Parody, Happy Birthday. The song is inspired by the songs of Tonio K, one of Al’s favorite artists. The song is dark, very weird but also quite fun. Not only did this song make Matt a fan of Tonio K; but it’s also a go to Birthday song to send friends for Matthew.

Continuing his long tradition of championing pint-sized terror on the show, Matt dives us tongue-first into James Wan’s haunted ventriloquist dummy romp DEAD SILENCE (2007). Boasting a $20mil budget and only one blue color gel, it’s actually not nearly as bad as we might’ve remembered it being… but that might have more to do with our brains being warped by 7 years of doing this podcast and less with Dead Silence being good. You decide, but be careful talking smack about Mary Shaw or you may never talk again!

The turn of the century brought an explosion of music that combined pop sensibility with the spirit of rock. Bands like Sum 41 and Dashboard Confessional entered the mainstream and stayed there, building back catalogs of memorable songs and influencing young artists. Other groups – like this week’s artist American Hi-Fi – got lost in the shuffle. Today, we’re joined by Femme Regard co-host Tessa Markle to discuss whether American Hi-Fi should have been more than just the flavor of the week.

This week we kick off what ended up being Music May! We got deep into talking about Creedence Clearwater Revival while recording our Vietnam episode but today we dive DEEP into the entire career of Creedence Clearwater Revival and how much of an impact they made in their very short career.

Join hosts Christian Bladt, Kaitlin Cornell Krusoe, Michael Shirley and Eric Conner as they discuss a book that they have all read for the first time, “Doctor Strange : The Way of the Weird” by Jason Aaron and Chris Bachalo. They will also announce next month’s book, and each host will give you a personal recommendation from their reading list.

This is a strange one. Weird Al reportedly wrote this song as a parody of Jack & Diane but John Melloncamp declined. Instead of completely scrapping the song he redid it as a Blue song instead. It’s clear that the lyrics mostly remained unchanged when he switched to the new style. The Matt’s discuss this particularly mean-spirited song that did not age well over the last 40 years and also discuss our feelings on Blues music and John Cougar Melloncamp!
