The Lost television series was a phenomenon that left millions of viewers scratching their collective head each week. That sense of wonder continues even today, as both mine and Matt’s tiny little brains were blown at the fact that Malcolm David Kelley — aka Walt from Lost — is one half of the pop duo MKTO, who had a Top 20 hit with “Classic” in 2013. One of the hazards of the job as a horror movie podcast is that sometimes you’re forced to discuss especially divisive films featuring beloved slasher icons doing really dumb stuff. No matter what you say, you’re going to upset a large swath of horror fans. With that said, we’re probably going to upset everybody this week since we’re talking FREDDY VS. JASON (2003). It looks every bit of early 00s and much of the dialogue has aged like milk, so hold your nose for this one!

Do you like chess? How about musicals about chess? How about new wave meets hip-hop songs FROM musicals about chess? You don’t really need to answer that. Regardless, our Patreon voted for it, so we’re diving into the hit 1985 single from English actor Murray Head, “One Night In Bangkok”. Does this song make THESE hard men humble? Man, how much does the O.C. love Incest storylines? You’re about to see them dabble in that once again this week.

We are back to discussing over the top B-movies with Al’s ode to schlock Attack of the Radioactive Hamsters From a Planet Near Mars. Are they Aliens or regular Earth hamsters? Is Earth the Planet near Mars? Should we be careful how close we leave creatures near a microwave?

This week we are reflecting on one of the best meta comedies in horror history; but how does it hold up 13 years later? Is it tamer than we recalled it being? Is it as funny as we remembered and why hasn’t Tyler Labine become a bigger name?

WELL MAYBE you thought this band was someone else. AND MAYBE you’re thinking “didn’t they have a few other hits?” The reality is that while Candlebox did well enough on Alternative Radio to get a main stage slot at Woodstock ’94, they only had one song that charted on the Billboard Hot 100. The powerful demo (yes, DEMO) “Far Behind” became their signature song, launching their debut album to quadruple platinum status. But did WE treat Candlebox bad? In the 60’s before the amusement park ride The Haunted Mansion was opened at Disneyland; an album was released to promote the new attraction (as well as the catchy song Grim Grinning Ghosts) walking you through the ride. This week Producer Matt does a deep dive into the album’s history.

Or a bag of potato chips that doesn’t cost $6, whatever is more feasible… Anyway, we’re talking Wes Craven’s Hallmark slasher about murderous Amish, 1981’s DEADLY BLESSING and if you guessed that Kyle picked it, you’d be correct! If Children of the Corn is too intense for you, this drama with a little bit of stabby-stab might be just what your pastor ordered. Lettuce pray.
