This past week has been a bountiful one for news of Pokémon Sun and Moon. Not only did fans get a brand new trailer but several new species of Pokémon were announced. There is quite a bit of information to go over so let’s take each piece one at a time.

I dare you to watch this trailer and not be moved. I get some serious goosebumps every time I see it. In the video, we see the return of the series’ “Pokémon-Amie.” A keen eye will spy a Porygon blowdryer being used in that portion. New features shown included trainers posing during battle. Here’s hoping for some Sailor Moon-style poses!

Magazine scans containing new Pokémon information were posted on Serebii.net. From the Japanese magazine, CoroCoro, we are introduced to Kiteruguma (Normal/Fighting-type) and Mimikkyu (Ghost/Fairy-type). Kiteruguma is a the red panda mascot costume-looking one on the left page.

On the right page is Mimikkyu. This species is draped in a Pikachu costume with its real body hidden underneath (which explains it isn’t an Electric-type).

In other news, Nintendo revealed Salandit, a Poison/Fire-type. It possesses a brand new ability, Corrosion, that grants Salandit the ability to inflict the poison status on Steel-type and Poison-type Pokémon, which are normally immune.
