Trailer Trash Heap: War Horse, Brave, & More!

Happy 4th, folks! Kyle Kriner here as always, a day late but still on time. In the wake of all of the fireworks, we have the Trailer Trash Heap! The Heap will now be dropping on Tuesdays everyone, so now you get an extra day after the weekend to prepare for what I’m sure is the highlight of your week. Oh yes, and by the way, if I may quote the great Brian Walton, “Friends do not let friends see Transformers.” I think that’s all that needs to be said on that front. See ya next week, Scapists!

11-11-11

Yet another film that will shake the human race to the core and send them rushing to grocery stores to buy supplies and food for their nuclear fallout shelter.

Brave

Disney Pixar’s movies are always impressive and a great time for the entire family. Even based on the little snippet we get of this one, I don’t think this will be an exception.

Mission: Impossible Ghost Protocol

Is it possible that Tom Cruise can be cool again? Eh, not sure. It’s funny how every installment of MI tries to get more and more badass. The scope of this one is big, and just doens’t seem like MI, but we’ll see what happens.

War Horse

It’s been a while since Black Stallion or even Sea Biscuit, so I suppose its time Hollywood gave us a new fast hairy hero.

Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy

This one is interesting, can’t quite get a grasp on it. I don’t know if it’s something I’d ever bother seeing, but Gary Oldman is pretty much undeniable in any role he chooses, so maybe he will bring the needed kick to this film.

Special Treatment

I feel like a lot of these French films kind of cover the same territory, and this one doesn’t look like anything truly fresh to me. Maybe I’m just not culturally advanced enough.

Jane’s Journey

I could have sworn that all of this was covered in a movie with Sigourney Weaver quite a few years back, but she was playing someone completely different. Well, she was playing a completely different lady who lives in the mountains protecting apes. Excuuuuuse me.

5 Days Of War

Now, you guys know I’m not typically too fond of war movies, but this one is looking pretty cool. Love the action in the trailer and the musical score with it. The only thing I’m cautious about is Val Kilmer with long hair. That’s never good.

Senna

So how can racing become even more pointless and uninteresting? Oh yeah, let’s make a documentary about it. People will fall in love with it. Eh, you guys are on your own with this one.

(Editor’s Note: Jonathan has screened this and highly recommends it. Sorry Kyle.)
