Trailer Trash Heap Kaboom, Amigo, Jack & Jill

Hola, Geekscapists! Kyle Kriner here with the new and not improved (cuz it’s already perfect) Trailer Trash Heap. That’s the unofficial title of course, but either way I’m here with quite a few trailers for you guys this week. There’s a lot of foreign stuff and a lot of indie flicks, but there’s some good films here. Would I lie? Enjoy, my friends.

The Myth Of The American Sleepover

Cool little indie flick. Looks well written and full of summer time cliches to make us remember high school. Only problem is, it looks like a bit of a snoozer. We shall see.

Singham

The more I saw of this trailer, the more I got the feeling that it wasn’t meant to be taken seriously. The action still looks pretty good though, just wish I had some subtitles on this one.

The Iron Lady

Clearly, we’re not supposed to know what’s going on here. We’re supposed to be completely amazed that Meryl Streep is the big reveal here, and just forget that we get this tiny little trailer with nothing coherent happening. Didn’t do it for me.

Restless

I love Ron Howard, and I trust him, but this just seems like another indie flick that is going to bore me to tears. The concept isn’t all that fresh, and I’m worried that all of the relatively funny scenes are shown in this trailer.

Beginners

I know Ewan is best known for the Star Wars films, but movies like this is where he belongs. Christopher Plummer as his gay father is hilarious, and I think this movie will be quite funny.

The Undefeated

Man, this movie sure isn’t biased at all.

Mysteries Of Lisbon

Anyone who knows me, knows I love a great French period piece with subtitles. Blah, this trailer almost put me to sleep. Sorry, gang.

Jack And Jill

I really love the concept here, I’m sure there’s gonna be some mushy gushy stuff at the end and all that, but I still have faith in Adam Sandler’s ability to make me laugh. Big Daddy immortalized him for me.

Amigo

We have some great actors in some powerful roles here. The trailer is well done and the scale of the movie seems epic, and I think it might be a real gem.

The Family Tree

Now this looks like a real treat. I know the disfunctional family with the smart alec daughter and slacker son isn’t anything original, but the banter back and forth is priceless, and is enjoyable for the whole trailer.

Brotherhood

Really? What kind of fraternity makes you rob a store at gunpoint to get in? Whatever happened to cleaning the other guys showers with a toothbrush or something? Either way, this looks like a good thriller, and I’m looking forward to it.

Kaboom

I really like Thomas Dekker, and I’m glad he’s getting a chance to be seen on a bigger scale. This movie definitely has some funny moments, and awkward laughs. But the second half of it is quite a trip. It’s almost like we’re given two different films, and I’m not complaining.
