Geekscape Tech Review: MyCharge HubPlus-C

In the past couple of months, we have been able to review three MyCharge products, and we’ve been reviewing products from this company since 2014, so there is a lot of familiarity with the reliability and soundness of MyCharge tech. The new product we have received to review may be a sneak peak here. It is the HubPlus-C, and it is one that is a personal plus for this writer.

I have a phone with a USB-C port- the HTC 10. It’s not easy finding products with the built in USB-C adapter, but MyCharge has come through for us, so we can charge our devices at a lightning speed.

I’ve reviewed a lot of mobile device back-up chargers, but the HubPlus-C is the first of its type that I have encountered with a built-in USB-C cord, and it also comes with a micro USB cable as well. The device comes with a USB port, so you could technically charge 3 things at once. To charge the myCharge HubPlus-C, one can simply flip out the fold-in prongs, and plug it in to any outlet.

The MyCharge HubPlus-C is recommended for those with active lifestyles who need something to charge on the go. This product boasts up to 4x extra battery for you device. It is good for 6700 mAh and has an output of 18 W Max. From the time of writing this article, we aren’t able to find the product on the MyCharge site, but their similar product- the HubPlus– with the same mAh is running for $79.99. We will post an update when the product is available on the market.

Geekscape Tech Review- myCharge: RazorUltra

We are on a myCharge roll with the review of this third product-the Razor Ultra. This gold finished external battery can give you some extra battery life on your devices- whether you are out camping or playing Pokemon Go.

This power bank, related to the Razor Platinum (which I didn’t review on this website), but less expensive, doesn’t have the 13,400 mAh power, but does have 12,000 mAh capacity, which can provide about 4 charges on a Samsung Galaxy phone before recharging again. The RazorUltra has two USB ports so you can charge your tablet and phone simultaneously.

Good for 90 hours worth of power, the external battery pack has the myCharge ultra-fast hyper charging of your devices- up to 65 percent competitors. It can also recharge itself up to 50 percent faster than its competitors. This speed is coveted by many customers.

Made of anodized aluminum to provide long lasting durability of the product, the Razor Ultra is available on the myCharge site for $59.99. You can also buy it at stores like Wal-Mart, Best Buy, and on-line sites like Amazon.

Geekscape Tech Review: ‘MyCharge:HubMax’ Mobile Charger

MyCharge has another mobile battery charger to make technological life on the go last a little longer. This one is called HubMax.

I took a relative (predecessor maybe?) called HubPlus to CES 2016, and it was very useful for charging my phone on the go during that trade show. The HubMax is similar, but it is almost double the power at 10500 mAh (that’s up to 6x extra battery).

The HubMax has both the micro-USB and Apple® Lightning™ cable so you can charge two devices at once. These cords are integrated into the device, so no need to carry around charging cables.

If, by chance, you need to charge another iPhone, a Samsung, and a third device, there is a USB port added on this portable charger. If you need a quick recharge, this is the one for you, as it recharges up to 50 percent faster than competitors.

Charging of this mobile battery is very straightforward- just plugs right into the wall to charge, with a 3.4 A output. The prongs are self-contained, and fold right up, making the HubMax very compact and portable. If this device sounds like something you can’t live without, it can be purchased on the myCharge site for $99.99.

Geekscape Tech Review: MyCharge’s AmpProng+

From MyCharge, comes AmpProng+. This product is a mobile battery, good for providing extra power to those long days of Pokemon Go hunting. In today’s world- where phone batteries don’t always last near as long as our busy lifestyles, this little gadget will give the extra boost that you need to keep power to your phone when you can’t connect to charge to a wall.

This product is a 6700 mAh portable charger, which means it is good for up to a 4X charge on a typical smartphone. The mobile battery charges by plugging into the wall. Two 2.4A output on double USB ports are provided for charging two devices- great for families needing to charge multiple devices at once while on the go!

It can power tablets and smartphones up to 65 percent faster, giving users an extra bonus boost at a high rate of speed. Who doesn’t need that?

The AmpProng+ is very lightweight, and claims to be able to hold power for about a year. If this product sounds like something that you need, it is available on the myCharge site for about $49.99.

Geekscape Tech Review: MyCharge PowerGear Sound and PowerGear Sport

Well, here is another review of a MyCharge product, and these particular ones have something in common. That is, both the MyCharge PowerGear Sound and PowerGear Sport are both cases that double as chargers. Or is it the other way around?

The PowerGear Sound is made for wireless earbuds. Yes, there are a lot of wireless earbuds that are going to be hitting the market this year, and I have heard that some are out now.

I am not talking about wireless earbuds that fit in the ears and wired together in the back. I am talking about two individual earbuds, which will soon be the standard, I believe.

The PowerGear Sound could be used to power just about anything, provided it is powered by a micro-USB cord. For example, if you have a Bluetooth headset or one of those wired pair of wireless earbuds (see previous paragraph), the PowerGear Sound should be good to power it. It is also a case to keep your device in while it is charging.

The battery on the myCharge PowerGear Sound is a 1,000 mAh one, which makes it good for charging a powered device made for the ear several times. Since it is a mobile battery, it has those four indicator lights and the button to begin the charging process.

It is a pretty great device, and it can be purchased on the myCharge site for $39.99.

The PowerGear Sport, a protective case made for wearables, is this thing that looks like a pouch or a holster. It opens up, and it has a place your wearable. I am told that it is good for products like the Apple Watch and the Fitbit.

If you look at the picture on the right of the image, you might thing that it comes with some kind of inductive charger for fitness bands and smartwatches. It actually does not, but it has a USB port so it could essentially charge anything that is USB chargeable, really.

I guess this makes the PowerGear Sport a fancy battery, and that is a good thing. It has the four indicator lights as well as the button to start the charging process.

It has a capacity of 2,000 mAh, which is supposedly good enough for charging a Fitbit 50 times. Seriously, that is quite a bit, so I don’t know how that compares to smartphones and other USB powered devices.

You should be able to purchase the PowerGear Sport on the myCharge site for about $29.99 in either pink or gray.

Geekscape Tech Review: MyCharge Razor Platinum, Portable Charger for MacBook

If you have never heard of MyCharge, then you should know that they are creators of some great mobile batteries. This time, the MyCharge Razor Platinum isn’t just your average mobile battery, but this one is capable of charging a laptop.

I am told that the MyCharge Razor Platinum is the first portable charger that can do a laptop, specifically an Apple laptop. The MyCharge Razor Platinum is 8 times as powerful as a battery, and the USB-C port delivers a 36 W output can charge a MacBook in about 100 minutes.

On the reverse side, you can recharge the Razor Platinum via the MacBook 29 Watt adaptor in just two hours. By the way, it also charges any tablet, smartphone, or other device Razor Platinum standard USB-A port.

So, is there a power trade-off going on here? This Powerbank recharges up to 50 percent faster than competitors. By the way, you can charge the powerbank and connected device at the same time, hence the image on the right of the featured image.
